Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

@LokiCat glad to hear you’re well! I don’t get notifications either but just check a lot! That’s great you have a scan, how exciting! I haven’t been suffering much nausea either - hopefully we are just lucky? I am hoping to book a second scan for 28th September but I’m just waiting for my 12 week scan date to come through! I am hoping a second scan will give reassurance and help me through the wait to 12 weeks 🤞🏻

Leag1 · 19/09/2019 13:24

I'm still spotting 48 hours on, still brown. I'm going to try and see a doctor later. Should I be worried?

Ruthsoph · 19/09/2019 13:51

you will be worried whatever right - but brown not so much - if its right blood red then yes and any clots ( sorry for grafics)
go see the doctor to put your mind at rest but from what i have read on the forum brown spotting is pretty common
good luck xxx

girlanonymous · 19/09/2019 14:52

Hello all!

Just a question here, when did you get your 12 week scan appointment?

Ruthsoph · 19/09/2019 15:38

i got mine a week after registering with the midwife so i was like 5 -6 weeks x i am near london if that helps as i think differnt areas do things differently

Lulucj · 19/09/2019 15:50

Ooo I'm due April 19th :):)

2nd baby... had a scan at 5 weeks as they were worried it might have been ectopic - thankfully all seems fine. No bleeding but some weird shooting pains in my stomach.

Had my booking appointment this week - in some sort of special VBAC midwife unit, not sure what to make of that yet...

12 week scan 7th October, time seems to be going very slowly!

@CassandrasCastle totally the same, should be working right now even!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 19/09/2019 17:11

@girlanonymous my letter has just come through today. Appointment is 2nd October so I’ll hopefully be 13+3 by then

LokiCat · 19/09/2019 17:30

@Bumbliebee I think I'll probably join Facebook after 12 weeks. Thank you for always letting us know though 😊

@Sunshine8888 I'm going to start checking a lot more now! Just thought it had gone quiet haha, clearly not!
I'm really hoping that's the reason too. I know old wives tales say that less nausea/morning sickness means you're having a boy, wonder if it's true 👀
That makes complete sense. That's what I'm hoping Sunday does for me! Fingers crossed your 12 week scan appointment comes through soon.

@Leag1 when I spoke to midwife when I had brown spotting they said it's not a concerning unless it's fresh, red blood and had cramps with it. Brown is usually old blood getting cleaned out. It's good you're seeing the dr though. I hope they can give you some reassurance, or even an early scan at the EPU! Have everything crossed for you 🤞🏽

@girlanonymous our area works on a self referral system, so I got my appointment 2 days after I sent it off, when I was 5 weeks! Feels like I've been waiting forever for the appointment.
I think most areas send the 12 week scan date after the booking in appointment. Have you had yours yet?

Sorbfsiabs · 19/09/2019 18:11

I got mine a couple of days after the booking appointment, but it seems different everywhere :)

PurpleViolin · 19/09/2019 18:26

@Serendipity001 welcome Smile

girlanonymous · 19/09/2019 18:34

Had my booking appointment on the 10th. I'm 8w4d not heard anything so will give them a ring on Monday x

Serendipity001 · 19/09/2019 19:44

Hi @LokiCat and @PurpleViolin (and everyone!)!

I don't seem to get notifications and it doesn't say I'm on this group just 'watching'!

I've had my booking appointment and I have my scan end of next week which I'm excited and nervous for. I feel like I am waiting forever for the appointments to come round! I think I'm just over 11 weeks now and the last few days I've had no nausea or vomiting and I'm feeling less tired and the aches have reduced. I don't know if it's normal coming to the end of the first trimester and reading up on missed miscarriages has freaked me out a little - literally counting down days to this scan now!

I haven't read the thread yet but did anyone else have their pregnancy symptoms suddenly ease up like that?

Leag1 · 19/09/2019 20:33

@LokiCat I know old blood is fine, I spoke to my midwife and she advised to get checked. I'm on holiday at the moment and managed to have a scan £90 well spent I think. Baby all good, measured 12+2. Such a relief

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 20:41

That’s great @leag1, what a relief x

I’ve just had my 12 week scan date through for 10th October. Roll on the next 3 weeks!

elb1504 · 19/09/2019 21:24

I had my scan date through about 2 weeks after my booking appointment, and it's on 30th September, hoping the next week flies by!

@Serendipity001 I had a couple of days this week with no nausea and felt remotely like normal, however today its come back in a wave so I'm guessing it might be a case of symptoms coming and going , I'm 11 weeks too.

Dawn99 · 20/09/2019 07:32

Hello all. I’m joining in here a little late. Been reading all of April 2020 thread 1 and now this one so feel like I am ready to post.

I got my BFP on 23/08/19 after ttc for about 2.5 yrs. I have a son from a previous relationship but this is oh’s first (and his parents first grandchild) so it’s very exciting. I am due April 28th (my sister’s birthday) and we get married later this year. Lots going on!

We have had 2 early scans, one at 6 weeks and one at 8 weeks. Everything looks really good, strong heartbeat and little limb buds now too. Still can’t help worrying tho as I’m an older mum and know the odds aren’t as good as pregnancy in younger mums. Trying to stay positive tho.

Hope all u ladies are keeping well. My sickness is starting to settle down after a few rough weeks of eating almost constantly to battle the nausea. I’m away with some friends this weekend who don’t know my news and am hoping I don’t get found out! 🤞🏻 Wish me luck!!

nicoletia · 20/09/2019 08:49

Morning All. I don't get any notifications either unless someone mentions me in their post.

Anyway, I'm currently enjoying glorious sunshine on the beautiful island of Corfu, although must admit that not being able to enjoy the AI facilities starting from lovely cocktails served by the pool to not being able to eat fresh mussels is quite frustrating!!

I'm 11+ 1 today based on my private scan but my dating scan is not until 30/09. I am really bloated despite that I eat mostly lettuce and veg (the baby is not keen on meat?) and had a real meltdown earlier this week as I look like I've eaten too many pies (I've already put on 4kgs).

The waves of nausea which I was experiencing first thing in the morning have completely gone but I feel like my boobs have already grown two sizes. In fact, I woke up in the middle of last night with really sore boobs and nipples. I moisturise every day and stay in the shadow but the skin on my boobs is burning and they're really hot. Is this normal?

starlightmagic · 20/09/2019 08:57

Is it too late to join the party? Due 6th April Smile I’ve had bleeding during this pregnancy, causing a lot of worry due to previous miscarriage but I think we are at the other side as I’ve had nothing since Sunday! Scan isn’t until next Friday and it’s dragging!

Ruthsoph · 20/09/2019 10:44

@Dawn99 How old are you? i am 42 and this is also my second - yes it is a worry being slightly iolder but having kids in your 40's is not uncommon now - i had a scan at 8 weeks and they got a heartbeat so all ok - i am having the NIBT test next week which i also get another scan so that will be reassuring xx

Greenwhale · 20/09/2019 10:56

As there's some late additions to the thread, I'll make the plunge now rather than just stalking!

@Dawn99 we are due date twins!
I have my booking in appointment tomorrow which is exciting to get things sorted but I'm also very anxious about it although not sure why. I have quite up and down moods at the moment so I hopefully I will wake up in a positive one tomorrow!

Good luck with everyone's impending 12 week scans! Excited to see some baby pictures.

Also can't believe there is a July group started! This makes it somehow feel even more real for us Apr babies!

Sophie91 · 20/09/2019 11:50

@Greenwhale crazy that theres a July group- I was moaning to OH about how time seems to stand still when you're pregnant, to which he replied "well you're over 10 weeks now so you're over a quarter of the way through this" which seems totally surreal!

Greenwhale · 20/09/2019 11:59

@Sophie91 I'm sorry I should have said June rather than July - whoops! But still, this means there are now two due date groups after us which is crazy!
I'm a bit behind you at 8 weeks but still nice to know I've only got a third of the way to go again before scans and the secret can finally come out!

Bookworm83 · 20/09/2019 12:12

Funnily enough, after the dating scan my due date moved from 1st April to 31st March, but I really want to stay in the April thread!

happymrsc · 20/09/2019 17:36

@LokiCat thanks :) as long as everything is okay with my scan I'll be in touch to join the group.

Do others find their nausea is present everyday but much worse others? I'm hardly ever sick but am struggling to eat with the nausea. Tends to ease off late evening but some days it's relentless, like today. 🤢

littledinosaurs · 20/09/2019 18:17

Ohhh my first scan is also on the 30th sept. Looks like there's a few of us. I've just had my booking in appointment – my midwife is lovely. It was so good to talk to someone knowledgeable.

Welcome all Smile
