Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Thanks @Ruthsoph I ate a lot of beige things and feel a lot better 😂

Harriettenightingale · 13/09/2019 15:42

We just speak to the receptionist at the GP and they pass the details onto the midwife - it sounds like it's different everywhere, maybe give GP or Hospital a ring?x

@Sorbfsiabs do they call you? I went to the doctor last week and she filled out the form but not heard anything yet.

Hi all :)
New here
I’m 11+3 and EDD 1st April
1st pregnancy
12 week scan is on Tuesday when I should be 11+6 by my calculations but my cycles are a bit longer so wouldn’t be surprised if it’s pushed back a little.
I had a scan at EPU for pains at 7+0 and saw a heartbeat with internal scan
I work in health care and told my manager every early as I can work with aggressive patients and a lot of moving and handling work which I wanted her to be aware of so I could stay clear
Symptoms have been rough and I’ve been miserable. I suffer from anxiety which has been at bay for 3 years but has totally flared in pregnancy - must be the hormones as it isn’t pregnancy related anxiety issues!
Indegestion is horrendous. I burp all day long it’s so uncomfortable and sore. Anyone got a remedy to stop the burping??????
Nausea is there 24/7 but I’ve only been sick once
I find it’s such a lonely time without friends or family knowing!

Riiriii · 14/09/2019 13:17

Hi all, am new here. Am 10 weeks gone and i've been battling with reoccurring yeast infection even though hubby has taken antibiotics for it and i have been treated twice too. Has anyone been experiencing this?

PurpleViolin · 14/09/2019 14:32

@Riiriii I always thought antibiotics made yeast worse? Cos it kills the good bacteria and you need to build them back up? What does gp say?

@Kkgg10 welcome Grin

jessie0222 · 14/09/2019 19:20

Hey everyone, glad there has been a 2nd thread made. I am 9+3 I have a really ache left arm/shoulder & neck anything I write it come up with eptopic but it's not like a sharpe pain or anything. Anyone else had this? And my first midwife appointment is Thursday when did people hear about the first scan? I have already filled in the forms online for self referral just want that first scan to see the baby is there and safe
Xx

Riiriii · 14/09/2019 22:41

The antibiotics is actually for my husband to treat him just incase. The gp prescribed insertion tabs for me which worked for a few days and it came back again Sad

mamfypuss · 16/09/2019 05:26

Hi,

Can I join in. I'm currently about 8 weeks pregnant with my 2nd.
I had a bad experience with my first birth so petrified about this one.
And there's going to be 16months between them. So going to have my hands full 🤦🏼‍♀️.

So nice to be here and see how others are getting on. Threads like this helped me massively first time round.

Can't wait to get to know you all. Xxxx

mamfypuss · 16/09/2019 05:28

@Riiriii I had that problem on my first pregnancy. Had to have the pessary a few times till it went. Hope you get it sorted x

PrincessConsuela12 · 16/09/2019 09:13

@Kkgg10 Welcome & congratulations! I don't have any tips for the burping I'm afraid, but fingers crossed it stops soon! Has your nausea stopped now? I'm only 7 weeks but been feeling horrid for 2 weeks now & really don't know how I'll get through the next 5 + I haven't been sick luckily but the only thing that helps for a little is food! I understand when you say it's lonely, I talk to my DH about it but I really do feel alone at times when I'm feeling really sick and tired x

Kkgg10 · 16/09/2019 09:39

@PrincessConsuela12 it’s nice to see someone else feels as lonely as me!
My nausea has 90% worn off. I can eat now but instead I’m being caught off guard the other 10% and straight to being sick which I’ve not been throughout.
I’m also signed off with labrynthitis so it’s causing dizziness so I don’t know how much is related to that but I feel ROTTEN. My blood pressure was also pretty high this morning but dr said not to worry about this early on in pregnancy.
I definitely found my worst weeks 7-10.
That’ll be me 11+5 today and got my 12 week scan tomorrow eeeeeeek! I’m very nervous!
Always here if you’re feeling lonely and want a chat :)

PrincessConsuela12 · 16/09/2019 10:02

@Kkgg10 Oh that's so exciting!! Will you be telling everyone after your appointment? Goodness you've been through the mill haven't you!

It's my birthday in 3 weeks so I'm hoping I'll feel slightly better, not sure how easy it will be to hide if I'm not...!

Thank you, that's very kind 😊

Leag1 · 16/09/2019 10:17

I was concerned that my nausea had reduced. I'm 11+3 today. But then I vomitted lying down and ended up swallowing the sick

Kkgg10 · 16/09/2019 10:46

@PrincessConsuela12 gonna wait another week then announce! Just to make sure 😂😂

Sunshine8888 · 16/09/2019 13:32

@Kkgg10 that’s so exciting your scan is tomorrow! I’m still waiting for my date but I know it’s going to be at least 4 weeks away! Feels like forever! It sounds like you’ve had an awful time of it. My nausea is only just starting - I really hope it doesn’t get worse because work is enough of a struggle as it is.

@PrincessConsuela12 sorry you’re struggling too. Roll on 12 week scans please!!

Sophie91 · 16/09/2019 16:52

Had my booking appointment today at 9+3, which was held at my home. Spent all morning frantically cleaning so the midwife didnt judge me 😂 it made everything feel very real and exciting, and my midwife was lovely 😊 Luckily I am deemed as very low risk at this stage, and my midwife showed me a virtual tour of the birth centre I will hopefully be going to- it looks amazing!
I've been feeling awful today, really weak and dizzy. Not sure if it's due to having my bloods taken (although I'm usually pretty hardcore as a regular blood donor!), but I've had to take the rest of the day off to lie on the sofa with my dog feeling very sorry for myself.
12 week scan in 2 weeks, the day before we go to Malta for a week. Very exciting times ahead!
Hope everyones feeling ok! X

PrincessConsuela12 · 16/09/2019 18:37

@Sophie91 I'd do the same thing 😂😂 hope you're feeling better now.

@Sunshine8888 Thank you! Yes please hurry 🤞🏽😄

@Kkgg10 Whatever works for you! I like the fact we have our little secret but on the other hand I just want to shout about it & tell everyone, I think for me at the moment it doesn't seem real, even with the dreaded nausea. What time is your appointment?

Sunshine8888 · 16/09/2019 19:53

I just had my booking appointment too. All fine, went on for a good hour and a half! @Sophie91 I’ve also felt weak and dizzy today, discovered today that my blood pressure is low which explains it! Midwife is also checking with consultant if I need any further check up due to abnormal cervical cells diagnosed in June. She didn’t seem too concerned about the small bleeds I’ve had 🤷🏽‍♀️ That’s so great about your scan date before your holiday! I hope mine comes through soon!

Pip231018 · 16/09/2019 21:58

@Sunshine8888 Hey, great news that your booking in went well. I keep having small bleeds, followed by what seems like the very end of period type discharge/blood. Had it for about a week. Scan showed everything was fine and I have another scan booked in this Sunday. Just curious how long you bled for? I'm in the same situation where I just can't take time off work to go to EPU. Plus I called them and they were pretty unhelpful hence booked a private scan x

Sunshine8888 · 17/09/2019 08:22

@Pip231018 thanks for reassurance. I had a scan at 6/7 weeks and all was ok. I’m trying to wait to book another one until 9/10 weeks but the anxiety is awful. My bleeding has been on and off about twice a week for three weeks now. It’s just a tiny splodge of rusty coloured blood/brown tinged discharge each time. It’s happened three times since my scan though so the reassurance I felt from it was very short lived ☹️

Pip231018 · 17/09/2019 09:08

@Sunshine8888 Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Mine is almost daily, varying from pink to blood blood. But then some days, hardly anything. The Sonographer said not to worry but to monitor it. I'm 10 weeks on Sunday so fingers crossed it's all ok. Just nice to know it isn't just me who has had this issue - it's so terrifying. Please keep me updated with how you get on. X

Sunshine8888 · 17/09/2019 13:52

@Pip231018 yes please keep me updated with you too. Ahh ten weeks, is that based on LMP? you’re so close now to end of first trimester! I will be 9+3 then but I think I’m maybe about a week behind that - I had long cycles after coming off the pill

Pip231018 · 17/09/2019 14:08

I'm 11 weeks from LMP, but they put me back a week. Fuming. Ha! I know I'm close, but it feels like an eternity. I don't think I will get my 12 week scan until at least 13. Little bit of blood today, I am quite crampy, but I was before the blood. It's so hard second guessing everything. I can't take reassurance on my symptoms cos of my MMC in May. It's such a worrying time. X

Bookworm83 · 17/09/2019 16:24

Hi all, it's good to be back here after a few weeks break. I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and have my 12 weeks scan tomorrow at noon. Got to say I'm petrified that a) they'll find some problems with the baby or b) I find out I'm not even pregnant anymore!! Please don't laugh, I know how stupid it sounds but my boobs aren't sore anymore and the sickness has stopped, so I don't really feel pregnant anymore. Been reading a lot about missed miscarriages and getting really anxious ☹️

littledinosaurs · 17/09/2019 16:45

@Bookworm83 I've been feeling that today as well - just feel much less tired, have been eating normally and generally feeling not very pregnant. But sometimes you have good days and it's most likely that everything is fine. Lots of luck for tomorrow - let us know how you get on xx
