Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Here's my little nugget. I've been pushed back 4 days so I'm 9+3 and my EDD is now 9th April. I'm so glad we've done it tbh. The baby was wriggling like crazy which made me and my OH cry 🥰 At least I know that lack of symptoms doesn't mean that there is something wrong which is very reassuring.

How is everyone else doing? X

Well I think I'm officially in the May group now rather than April. Early scan showing little baba and a strong heartbeat. 😊However instead of 7+2 I've been moved back to 5+5 which puts my EDD at 4 May! Would also explain the lack of symptoms so far! I will still lurk though if you don't mind to follow your journeys xx

Congrats @nicoletia I think I’ll have another private scan at 9 weeks to check progress 😊

I had an early scan today too, was as thought 9+1, was amazed how much you could see and hearing the heartbeat was lovely!

Lovely to see yours too @nicoletia and @Sunshine8888

Congrats ladies x

@Sunshine8888 I definitely would! I can't wait for my next scan which is on 30/09

PrincessConsuela12 · 07/09/2019 18:02

Lovely seeing all of the scan pictures 💜

@Sunshine8888 I'm dipping in & out of both groups, I though my EDD was around 29th April but after a really early scan she though it would likely be closer to 3rd May 🤷🏽‍♀️ hopefully I'll have a more definitive date at my 12 week scan.

Derbygirlz · 07/09/2019 18:07

Hi I've never posted on here before. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with a surprise baby. I'm 41, will be 42 when its born. My kids are 18 and 21 years old. my partner of 6 years doesn't live with me
We have always been quite happy having our own space and get on amazingly well. I have known for a couple of weeks but I can't seem to tell him I'm pregnant. He has no kids of his own, has never wanted any and we were not planning this. I know he won't want to keep it. I'm in a successful career and can afford to support a child and take time out. I just don't want to do it alone. We get on so well, like nobody I've ever known, so why can't I just tell him!

LokiCat · 07/09/2019 18:13

Ahh lovely seeing all the scans!! Congrats ladies 😊

@Sunshine8888 I'm so glad all is well and you managed to see a strong heartbeat so early! ❤️

Had a scan today and hey told me I was 7+4 so 2 days behind what I thought - so relieved to see heartbeat and all ok for size etc - hopefully I can relax now but feel sick as a dog all day but felt well enough for a Big Mac and chips - I am literally all over the place xx

ChickenNugget86 · 07/09/2019 22:09

Thanks for sharing the scan photos ladies it's made me all emotional!!
It must be an amazing experience.
Please can you tell me what the internal part feels like having an early scan? That part is putting me off a little so was going to hold out till the 8 week mark.

ChickenNugget86 · 07/09/2019 22:12

@Derbygirlz - Congrats with your surprise baby. You never know if you tell him he might have a different reaction to how you think he'll be.
I think you need to tell him ASAP, the longer you leave it the harder it will be x

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 07/09/2019 23:12

@chickennugget86 honestly it’s fine. As a ivf pregnancy I’ve had of internal scans. Honestly totally fine. They are really gentle and if you breath out as they insert the probe it’s fine. Looking at these scans worth it. I had internal at 7+2 and saw heartbeat to be discharged from clinic. Also had external at 9+2 at epau due to bleeding and it was no where near as clear but enough to see all ok x

ChickenNugget86 · 08/09/2019 00:01

Thanks that's good to hear. Apart from a smear test I've not had anything else to do with the vagina haha so was having strange visions of a camcorder getting shoved up me! Eek

I'm at the weird stage where I can't take it in still that I'm pregnant and think I need to see its real for it to sink in properly.

From checking dates I predict I'm 6 weeks 4 days pregnant and due on 29th April.

It just feels a long wait for the first midwife appointment x

Sunshine8888 · 08/09/2019 00:32

@ChickenNugget86 it’s absolutely fine - way better than a smear in my opinion! And so reassuring 😊 def worth it xxx

Pip231018 · 08/09/2019 02:38

Looking for reassurance.

I was on a flight home to the UK and I needed a wee (obvs because I'm pregnant and constantly peeing). As I was waiting I thought I'd wet myself so I was alarmed when it was blood. I went back to my seat, found a sanitary towel in my bag and went back to the toilet where there was more red bleeding and what seemed like a lot. But any blood seems like a lot when you shouldn't be bleeding.

So, cut forward 30 minutes and the airline arranged a paramedic to meet me upon arrival, had moved our seats and closed the toilet for anyone else but me. They were amazing. However, I've just got home and I can't believe that this has happened.

After my MMC in May, I just can't have another loss. Has anyone else had bleeding and it all be ok?

Sorry that post was so long.

Sussexbythesea84 · 08/09/2019 06:20

Morning girls.

Woken up with dark red bleeding this morning but no pain. Any ideas? I’m so worried

Pip231018 · 08/09/2019 07:02

@Sussexbythesea84 Hey, I'm in the same boat. 9 weeks today, the bleeding seems to have calmed down now. Just hoping it's a bit of spotting - especially as I have no pain. X

nicoletia · 08/09/2019 07:09

@ChickenNugget86 I did it because I had had some on/off spotting and I'm off to Greece for holiday next Sunday so wanted to make sure everything was fine.

@Pip231018 @Sussexbythesea84 Can you self refer to your local EPU?

Pip231018 · 08/09/2019 07:14

@nicoletia I actually have a private scan today, so I'm going to go and see what they say. Then head over to EPU if they pick up anything concerning. X

nicoletia · 08/09/2019 07:19

I'm sure everything will be fine @Pip231018 xx

Sussexbythesea84 · 08/09/2019 07:51

Unfortunately not. You have to go through the doctors to be referred.

It’s very on and off bleeding. I’ll wait until tomorrow and then call the doctors or community midwife. The fact I have no pain is the concerning bit. I’ve had bleeding at the very beginning and actually thought I miscarried but then 3 weeks later it was positive

Passionfruit20 · 08/09/2019 08:01

@ChickenNugget86 - just to warn you when you go for your scan, you may freak out as the internal scanner looks (excuse the crudity!) like a huge dildo, and my reaction the first time when they put a condom on it and lubed it up was “NO WAY IS THAT THING GOING IN ME” but it only goes in a very tiny bit, and isn’t painful at all. Like @Whatelsecouldibecalled I’m an IVF pregnancy, and I’ve now had that thing inside me more times than I can count 😂 Just breathe and relax and you’ll honestly barely notice it. It’s loads less uncomfortable than a Pap smear.

ChickenNugget86 · 08/09/2019 15:02

@Passionfruit20 - haha thanks for that as it would freak me out, hope they don't use a tingle condom Grin

Sussexbythesea84 · 08/09/2019 15:18

Hi everyone.

So the bleeding has continued all day but no aches or pains. I called my midwife and they’ve referred me to early pregnancy unit but they don’t open until tomorrow morning.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us all xx

Pip231018 · 08/09/2019 15:52

Hi @Sussexbythesea84 au just went for my scan and had a heartbeat. I did bleed during the scan but the Sonographer said that she couldn't see any alarming reason for the blood and I just need to monitor the bleeding. Hopefully you have a similar experience. It's so terrifying, will keep everything crossed for you.
