Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Discharge is super normal at this stage as the blood is rushing to that area to create a mucus plug.... well that’s what the app told me.

Bounty is a great app as it’s specifically for women having babies in the UK.

Anyone due to have screening and 12 scans yet?

elb1504 · 06/09/2019 16:20

Hi everyone,

I've been keeping up to date with this thread since my first post but mostly lingering round! Hope everyone is feeling ok! I'm either nauseous or eating everything in sight.

I had my first midwife booking in appointment which I was a bit disappointed with afterwards, I live in between 2 hospitals and chose one that is easier to get to and closer to work for appointments etc.. but the midwife works for the other hospital trust so it ended up her filling in loads of forms and saying you'll have to wait for that hospital to get in touch about all scans and appointments going forward and not much information given not sure what I was expecting!

She did recommend the Bounty app though which seems quite good!

LG0914 · 06/09/2019 18:03

@PurpleViolin I have pregnancy+ which is probably my fave, also downloaded the Bounty app- quite good and also includes discounts. Also just heard about another called Mush (sounds really good) but I started signing up for it but have waited until more people know as you include your photo etc as it's to meet other parents in your area and things like that.

Morning sickness has been kicking me hard this past week! Throwing up at least 6 times a day, it’s worse in the mornings and randomly in the middle of the night. Haven’t had a full night’s sleep this week and really feeling itSad I’m not sure what to try and eat tonight? I had a bacon cob this morning as that’s all I felt like eating and about to have some plain crackers see if I can keep those down. I’ll be 8 weeks tomorrow hopefully my hormones start to level out soon, although I was sick up until 20 weeks with my first

BristolBear · 06/09/2019 20:45

Thank you @gnat99 :)
Really looking forward to that glowing stage now.. as I think we all are!

@ChancePeace midnight sickness sounds awful, poor you. I can't imagine feeling more exhausted than I do now and aside from it being a bit more tricky to get to sleep, I'm then sleeping through most nights. Is there anything the docs can do to help with that?

I found eating rice or mashed potato with my evening meal is helping me feel a bit less rough in the morning. Maybe that could help with the night sickness too.

Hope you feel better soon x

Had my scan it's so surreal. Feel much more relaxed for my holiday in 2 weeks. EDD 7th april 2020

April 2020 Babies - Thread 2!
veeboo · 06/09/2019 21:57

Hello please can I join? I have been lurking but a bit nervous to post too early. I had an 8 week scan today and saw the heartbeat and measuring as expected. I'm 32 pregnant with my first after ttc for 18 months
My EDD is 15th April.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 06/09/2019 22:59

@nikdan123 wow your scab is so clear. Was it internal or external? You’re due 3 days after me. I had external at epau last Monday due to bleeding and it was no where near as clear as that!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 06/09/2019 22:59

Scan not scab!! Blush

ChickenNugget86 · 06/09/2019 23:27

Aww that's amazing to see a scan photo. To those who have had early scans before the 8 weeks what does it feel like having it done? Not sure I fancy having one done.

Ive managed OK going back to work but feel so sick all the time without actually being sick. Also getting frustrated as I'm constapated quite a lot and feel like I have trapped wind.

I went to my local hospital this week for an early bird session which they invited me to was good to be fair, a midwife went through the next few weeks then we went on the tour of the labour ward. The birthing pool rooms looked lovely to be fair. I'm quite an anxious person so glad I've seen what it looks like now, although there was a woman mooing like a cow in the background.... Eeek

hailslm · 07/09/2019 00:17

Hi all, Newbie joining here!
Little bit of background of me, I am currently around 7wks pregnant, this will be my 3rd pregnancy but I have had two previous miscarriages, no children, one was 10 years ago at around 9 weeks, the other was in February this year at 11wks +5.
This pregnancy was a complete surprise, wasn't expecting that second line to appear at all, especially as me and the father are not together 🙄 but I must have taken 20 tests in the last month lol!
I'm pretty frightened about this one, I'm dreading that the same thing will happen again. I had some spotting a couple of weeks ago which lasted around 5 days, ranging from brown to a day of red (not bright just redder than pink sorry Tmi!) this really freaked me out so I got in touch with my midwife who I was registered with, the same midwife I had seen at the beginning of the year actually, and she got me booked in with the EPU for a scan which I had carried out this week 4 days ago, I was so relieved to see the little wriggling movements and see the little heartbeat! I couldnt quite hear it just yet but I'm booked in for a second scan in a couple of weeks when I should be 9 weeks Pg to compare the growth and I'm just hoping things go as they should! With my last pg that ended at just under 12 weeks I heard and saw the heartbeat at 8 weeks and it was so amazing but then 3 weeks later it all went wrong... it's such a shame that these things happen to us without any warning or reason a lot of the time, and I find myself affected every day expecting the worst, it's like I cant enjoy this pg after the 2 failed ones... I'm sure lots of you ladies in similar situations are feeling the same.. hopefully we can all make each other feel better! Sending all of you happy healthy positive baby dust and heres to hoping that 2020 will be our year ☺️☺️. xxx

nikdan123 · 07/09/2019 04:44

@Whatelsecouldibecalled yes it was internal. She tried external but wasnt very clear. Theres a pic of external one. I couldnt believe how clear it was and how much you could see for just 9 weeks 3 days. Makes it so real and exciting. Got my official first scan on 30th september. Thay was a private one for reassurance. Best £50 ever spent. Grin

Happy Saturday everyone! Insomnia has hit so I've spent the last hour or so overthinking. Question for you - has anyone had LEETZ treatment? Were you told you may have to have a stitch to make sure the cervix doesn't open prematurely? Has anyone had a successful full term pregnancy without needing one?

@nikdan123 Wow that scan is amazing! I feel so far behind you, my booking in appointment is the day you have your 12 week scan!

PrincessConsuela12 · 07/09/2019 05:57

@elb1504 That's exactly like me, I'm trying to be healthy and stay away from crisps / chocolate / sweets etc but I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out with this awful sickness feeling 😂

@hailslm So sorry to hear about your previous MC and I'm not surprised you're so frightened, I don't have much advise but wanted to say I really hope everything works out for you this time & I will be keeping my fingers crossed 😊

Harriettenightingale · 07/09/2019 08:33

I haven't @PrincessConsuela12 but was actually reading about it yesterday. At what point do they find out that you need it, do you know? Do they check at an antenatal appointment?

PrincessConsuela12 · 07/09/2019 08:42

@Harriettenightingale I really have no idea. I'll speak to the midwife at my booking in appointment and see what she says x

Harriettenightingale · 07/09/2019 08:43

Thank you, I'd be interested to know as it's something else to worry about 😂

GinTonic123 · 07/09/2019 08:45

Good Morning, I hope everyone is awake and well. I haven’t posted for a couple of days as work/life/kids got in the way. Is anyone else really tired? I had a mahoosive nap yesterday lunchtime (2 1/2 hours) and still slept from 10:30pm till 8am this morning😴😴🤷‍♀️

@PrincessConsuela12 - I haven‘t heard of LEETZ and have had three children without apparently needing it. I will go and read up on it now.

@hailslm - sorry for your previous MC’s Flowers. I can’t imagine how difficult and scarey this pregnancy must be for you.

PrincessConsuela12 · 07/09/2019 08:55

@GinTonic123 It's treatment for abnormal cells & nothing to do with pregnancy. When I had it done I was told it may weaken the cervix so I could possibly need a stitch to stop premature labour. It's not always necessary though x

GinTonic123 · 07/09/2019 09:08

@PrincessConsuela12 - that sounds serious 😳

Sunshine8888 · 07/09/2019 10:34

I have an early internal one this afternoon, I’m super nervous about it after having has three small bleeds/spotting in the last ten days but decided if something is wrong I’d like to know now and not in 5-6 weeks time. Really hope all is ok 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Sunshine8888 · 07/09/2019 10:36

@PrincessConsuela12 I have abnormal cells but I’ve been put on observation rather than have the treatment! I am meant to be going back for another colposcopy later this year but not sure what happens now I’m pregnant. I better mention this to this midwife at my appointment if everything is ok after scan today

PrincessConsuela12 · 07/09/2019 10:57

@GinTonic123 I think it was caught early & I got the all clear at my 3 year follow up so that was a relief.

@Sunshine8888 I had treatment just over 3 years ago now, had my 3 year appointment in June and was told to wait to see what my results were before TTC, luckily they came back all clear

PrincessConsuela12 · 07/09/2019 12:22

@Sunshine8888 Sorry, I was walking and typing so missed you saying about your scan. Good luck! Let us know how it goes xx

Harriettenightingale · 07/09/2019 13:44

Good luck @Sunshine8888 x
