Yea I'll probably go into labour as I get in the car for induction and get sentHome till contractions become more regular lol my OH wants an early night so he's refreshed for tomorrow I keep saying I won't be able to sleep I'm not sleeping well anyway and I'm only getting 3-4 hours max a night going to bed early will just prolong it for me I think Smile

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 14/09/2019 18:57

Hope all goes well @Dipsy77 and @Megan2018 !! I'm quite jealous that it's kicking off, still one week to go till my section and it feels like forever!

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/09/2019 18:59

Haha tbh i would go with his thinking. If you do start contractions in the early hours you could then be in labour exhausted!

Megan2018 · 14/09/2019 19:20

Having a bit of a disaster so far!
Pretty much immediately started to have bad contraction type pain with the pessary, turns out it is hyper stimulation. Had it in a couple of hours before they had to remove as I was having contraction pain (although not real labour) every 1 minute, lasting 30 seconds plus which led to fainting and vomiting. The monitor went mental, baby was coping ok but I wasn’t. Had painkillers and anti emetic injection.

Pain has settled now so at some point they’ll examine me to see if dilated enough to break waters. If they can’t I don’t know what the next step is! They can’t put it back in, so I imagine just wait to see overnight and then maybe a section.

DustyDoorframes · 14/09/2019 19:20

Hah @Dipsy77 that sounds about right, going into labour on your way in... they'd probably still break your waters though, rather than send you home?
I'm with @decaf , try and get some rest. How are you with baths?

DustyDoorframes · 14/09/2019 19:23

Aaaah @Megan2018 crossposted!!! Maybe you'll get your section then? I know it's hard with all the stress, but trying to keep calm will help your body do what it needs to do (hah, as if anybody ever in the world was calmed by someone saying "keep calm"...)

Dipsy77 · 14/09/2019 20:02

I love baths although at the minute getting out is a pantomime plus OH has gone to bed for his Beauty sleep he has no idea what's to come his ex wife had an emergency c section with his little boy so he went through stress with that but no labour contractions etc. I've labelled everything in my bags and shown him everything that's there which he keep saying yes I'm not stupid I will sort it , but I know he will glaze over when it's happening lol xx

Horehound · 14/09/2019 21:47

Is this the type of bra
www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-maternity-bra-pack-of-2-black-white/p1253228
@dustydoorframes ?
Thank you for all your advice. I will try the 2 top thing.

@happydays00 yes i do have a cool bag thingy which came with the pump. It has a plastic insert which you freeze..does that mean the milk will last a whole day then?

@kyles101 good idea for me to go somewhere not at a peak time! Dh has said tomorrow we will try eating out somewhere. The rest of the week is a bit if a bugger for me though cause we live in a village with no public transport and we are down to one car for the foreseeable. I will deffo get a 2nd car in the new year though and join some mum/baby clubs.

@megan2018 eek sounds like you've gone through the mill already! Hope all goes ok.
And to you @dipsy!

DustyDoorframes · 14/09/2019 21:56

@Horehound yes, I think so. I don't know why they don't show how they open on the photo!!! Some of the hot milk ones are A frame too.
I hope you are either asleep or getting going @Dipsy77 !

Horehound · 14/09/2019 21:58

Ok thanks Dusty!

challengeyourreality · 15/09/2019 03:38

@Megan2018 sorry you're getting sicj a difficult time of it. Do you know what the plan is for today?

I know why my 40+4 baby hasn't arrived. Ds has a fever of 39 and has started coughing like a dog bark Sad so it's destiny playing a hand. I am so worried now about baby coming home to this, never ever thought anyone would be ill for the baby coming. Naive of course. Going to wash all bedding in the morning, toilets, shower him early get new warm clothes on him and wash down all banisters/surfaces etc. What a nightmare, I'm really gutted

kyles101 · 15/09/2019 03:48

I hope everything is progressing nicely @Megan2018 ? The balloon catheter thing sounds pretty traumatic.

Dh and I both had similar sounding when I was induced @challengeyourreality , the worst ds has ended up with is an occasional sneeze, luckily, it wasn't nice actually and did hang around for the best part of a week for both of us.

challengeyourreality · 15/09/2019 03:56

Thanks for replying @kyles101 that feels better to read that. I think my imagination has been running wild thinking it may be some dangerous childhood illness picked up at school last week. I think I will call my midwife tomorrow morning as I'm sure she will be able to reassure me too, or at least have some advice

happydays00 · 15/09/2019 06:18

@challengeyourreality oh you poor thing! My DD has picked up the same from nursery, and passed it on to 4 week old DS (and is 😩)

@Horehound - officially, I only know the "breast milk lasts 4 days in a fridge or 6 months in a freezer" rule but I pack out my cool bag with the mini gel freezer clocks and it stays close to fridge cold for at least 8 hours. These are the ones I use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GOKQCQ0?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

boodles101 · 15/09/2019 07:21

horehound I was always told 666 for breastmilk. 6 months in freezer, 6 days in fridge, 6 hours out of fridge.

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/09/2019 08:17

challenge i hope your ds feels better soon and that he doesnt share his germs!

Fingers crossed that babies have arrived or are well on their way for dipsy & megan

DustyDoorframes · 15/09/2019 08:22

Hope things are progressing nicely @Megan2018 (and failing that, that you managed a bit of rest and some breakfast that's not cornflakes...)
And @Dipsy77 hope you are busy having the baby and not needing this morning's induction after all!

Argh @challengeyourreality what a pain!!!! Remember that your immune system will help keep the baby safe, even if it's just expressing a bit of colostrum- that stuff is antibody central (in fact... expressing some now can help bring things on, and you could give a bit to DS to help hasten the lurgy away, if that doesn't feel too weird...).

Dipsy77 · 15/09/2019 08:29

I'm still here waiting for the phone call I'm getting a lot of pressure at the minute and feel like I need the loo every 5 mins but nothing happens! That may also be the stress of waiting for the phone call I've been up since 5 it makes you so nervous waiting about but I was told not to ring and that they would ring me x

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/09/2019 09:06

Does sound stressful dipsy have they said it will definitely be morning when they phone

DustyDoorframes · 15/09/2019 09:37

@Dipsy77 that's like being a teenager again having given someone your number and wanting to be sure you get to the phone before your Mum. But will he ring??? (I'm guessing by the 77 that you were a teen pre mobiles like me...)
You must be all over the shop! Sounds like it will be an easy induction when it comes though, you are halfway there.

Dipsy77 · 15/09/2019 09:39

Yes born in 77 lol, they can ring anytime between 6am and midnight although my OH said he is ringing them at lunchtime if we haven't heard anything I'm just watching my phone have clammy hands and feel sick total nightmare nothing is distracting me x

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/09/2019 09:47

Urgh that is a killer re up to midnight!

DustyDoorframes · 15/09/2019 09:53

6am til midnight????? That's going to drive anyone crazy!! Not even crummy delivery firms leave you hanging that long!

DustyDoorframes · 15/09/2019 09:58

And being on tenterhooks is hardly going to help you progress by yourself too. Argh!

Dipsy77 · 15/09/2019 09:58

I know it's not good I'll be in a state if I have to wait till tonight if much prefer to ring myself and be told either way x
