Lovely to hear about everyone's scans. I've got mine Thursday!

Is anyone else suffering with a blocked nose? I'm awake for about 4 hours every night with it. It's driving me insane!

happylass · 06/08/2019 07:58

Morning all. Feel like I should re-introduce myself as I joined the original thread but hadn't posted for ages due to being crazy busy Blush.
I'm currently 12+4 (due 14th Feb - my own birthday). IVF pregnancy and I already have DS who is 2.5.
Currently starting to panic as I have no idea when my dating scan is. I initially rang my midwife at 6 weeks (I'd had a bleed then and was scanned at EPU - all good) and she said she'd put in for a scan appointment for me and get back to me once that had come through so she could 'book me in'. 3 weeks later I'd heard nothing so rang again and was told she'd look in to it and get back to me - she didn't. Rang again the day I was going on holidays and left a voicemail - no reply again. Last night I returned from 2 weeks in Spain none the wiser. I've got until the end of next week as it needs to be done before 14 weeks but it's still a bit last minute for me!!
So how's everyone feeling? I started to feel a bit better when I went away at 10 weeks but the nausea/sickness has returned with a vengeance these last few days. I actually had to run back to the toilet last night as I was on my way to board the plane Sad. I'm wondering how I'm going to cope looking after a very active DS as DH goes back to work today. I teach so I'm off for 4 more weeks.
Lovely hearing everyone's scan news. Hope you're all well!

Welcome back @happylass

Q. I'm 13w today. I have constant feeling where the top of your pants sit. Pre Preg I'd say it feels like the day before your period (kind tight, niggly) cross between been holding in a parp for a while (sorry 🤣)
Does anyone else have this feeling at the minute? I'm assuming it is just the stretching but want to be sure
(Tmi) my discharge has changed a bit and only going for small wee's so wanted to rule out potential infection (I used to get them a fair) just kinda hard to tel what's normal or not as this is my first

Thanks all

@Marleym28 I'm 13 wks today too and most of yesterday I had the odd twinge quite lower down my stomach! I have a great pregnancy day by day book and it states that around this time there will be lots of stretching and growing of the uterus so I'm putting it down to that. I imagine yours may be very much for the same reason? It's calmed down a lot today though but it was quite an uncomfortable day yesterday for that reason!
I also read that the urge to pee will reduce from now compared to the first trimester which might explain the shorter wee's.
I might be wrong but just thought I would pass on what I have read as it might help 😊

happylass · 06/08/2019 14:50

Apologies for the multiple posts - I’m not sure what happened there and I can’t see a way of deleting them Blush
Finally got in touch with my midwife - booking in tomorrow and scan Thursday. Nothing like last minute. They originally tried to give me August 22nd until I pointed out that’s actually too late 🙄

S082018 · 06/08/2019 15:06

@happylass good luck with your scan 😊

InOmniaParatus13 · 06/08/2019 19:59

Good luck everyone for their upcoming scans 😁

I’m 13 weeks today and my god I feel like a new person; made it to work, 2 trains and a bus each way without being sick at all 😁

Going to call my midwife tomorrow to chase up my 12 week scan appointment as I haven’t heard anything!

I’m now snuggled up in bed feeling tired but happy 😁

Hope everyone is well x

S082018 · 07/08/2019 07:03

@InOmniaParatus13 great to hear you are feeling better! Let us know when you hear about your scan 😊
I hit the 13 weeks mark yesterday too and I don't mean to speak too soon but I'm definitely not as tired this week. Managed to get to the gym for the past two evenings, my hair isn't falling out so much and my skin is clearing up! Bring on that pregnancy glow 😂👍🏽

InOmniaParatus13 · 07/08/2019 07:12

@S082018 I was worried yesterday may have been a one off, but nope feeling grand again today 😁 I will definitely let you all know when I get a scan date through ☺️ it’s crazy that in just under 3 weeks I’ll be having my private gender scan too, loads of my friends have used this place at 15 weeks and they haven’t been wrong for any of them ☺️
I’m glad you don’t feel as tired, yay! I have more energy in the day too which is amazing! My hair is still falling out and I look like a yeti with how fast my arm and leg hair grows but I’m counting my blessings 😂 aye bring on that pregnancy glow indeed 😂😂

S082018 · 07/08/2019 07:16

@InOmniaParatus13 oooh what date is your private gender scan?! I've booked one too 😆 mine is on the 24th.
Hoping your good feeling is here to stay! X

summeryet · 07/08/2019 08:17

Hi!

Just checking in, currently 11+4, so due 22/02/20. Had DS 16/08/18, so there will be a small gap! Dating scan booked for the 16/08 (what are the chances?!).

I'm utterly exhausted all of the time, and very sick pretty often, can't remember feeling this way from the first. So very much looking forward to the second trimester.

Hoping that everyone's faring well :)

fluffybottom · 07/08/2019 09:15

Aha found you all! I can't remember if I introduced myself last time or not.
I'm currently 11+2. First baby, conceived first week of trying so it's all been a bit of a shock. I was convinced it was going to take ages. Feel incredibly lucky.
We had a private scan at 6 weeks so I could check there was really a baby in there and then again at 10 weeks before we went on hols. Everything is measuring bang on what we thought.
We were messed around a bit with the dating scan. Got a date for when we were on holiday, rang them up to be told that the date on my letter was wrong and it was actually 3 days later (luckily the day after we got back). I'll be ringing to check every time now!

I feel massive at the moment, so much bloating. Has anyone noticed that they're getting fuller much quicker than usual? I can't seem to finish a meal at the moment.

@OccasionalNachos I found Jojomamanbebe to be brilliant quality and have built in slits for breastfeeding. I've ordered a few dresses in the sale already. The maternity leggings from there are great too.

ImMeantToBeWorking · 07/08/2019 09:58

@happylass here's your sister. My 12 week scan is at 13+5. It is a Friday afternoon so literally the last day they could have done it, the hospital made a bit of a feck up on it!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well, it has been nearly a week since i was last on so loads of posts to catch up on!!

Has anyone been told they are having twins yet? I was at something at the weekend and this AMAZING triple buggy caught my eye. This looked like the Ferrari of buggys, and it just had me wondering!!

So jealous of everyone and their scans, only 9 more days until mine (not that I am counting) sleeping is getting hard at the min, DP and I normally cuddle/spoon, but now I am too hot to do either, and I can not get comfy. I considered going into the spare room last night but I felt bad on DP so I struggled on, but I am now shattered today!!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 07/08/2019 10:04

@fluffybottom on the Jojo Mamam Bebe website it allows you to add a friend that recommended you for them to get a free gift, want me to out in your name? You can PM me if you want. I need leggings!!

fluffybottom · 07/08/2019 10:29

@ImMeantToBeWorking Thank you so much, that's really kind. I've PMd you.

45andfine · 07/08/2019 11:11

I had my scan yesterday, due date now 6th Feb. It's the anxious wait for the combined test results. Because of my age I'm starting with a risk of 1 in 35, but to take my mind off of that I'm worrying instead about how I'm going to tell my parents and 4 older children that there's another child on the way. It's an unplanned pregnancy, with a new partner ( who I don't live with), my parents have never been very supportive and my children are 11-16 years old. I'd love any tips on breaking the news positively, or things to avoid saying... Please help!

PixieLoo · 07/08/2019 11:43

Hi all! Hoping to join in here!
I am around 11+6 weeks pregnant, due February 20 2020! (Fun date for everyone to remember 20/02/20 Grin) I have been feeling okay, lots of nausea and fatigue but other than that fine!
I have my dating scan next week and I cannot wait to see the little bean! Feeling slightly anxious and still have to pinch myself sometimes that this is happening to us after a year of TTC! Thanks

InOmniaParatus13 · 07/08/2019 13:37

@S082018 mine is the 24th too at 9am 😁😁 I’m so excited!! I hope yours goes well! Fingers crossed this feeling grand sticks! X

S082018 · 07/08/2019 14:19

@InOmniaParatus13 Mine is at 10.00am! Strange coincidence 😉 I can't wait to find out!! Are you going to tell people the gender? Hubby and I are thinking of keeping it between us and leaving it a surprise to the rest of the family and friends.

Welcome to the newbies on this thread 😊
