Thanks for all the support ladies, I'm looking into getting some professional help to help avoid serious mental health problems so fingers crossed I'll be well enough to be the best mum I can be.

Also thank you for bath advice, going to look into the ones you've all said!

45andfine · 03/01/2020 12:27

I've bought Bambino Miosolo and Little Lamb size 1 nappies, but they look HUGE!!!

Going to take disposable ones to hospital though.

Am about to make my own re-useable wipes from cutting down muslins and some cheap IKEA flannels... Not sure how this will work out!🤣. Thinking using coconut oil will work with the wipes rather than keeping them wet?!

LolaLollypop · 04/01/2020 08:01

Anyone else really struggling with sleep atm? I have had a cold for what seems to be about 2 weeks. Even though I feel ok during the day, at night my sinuses are so blocked, feel like I can't breathe. I'm waking up 2-3 times most nights gasping for air, full of phlegm. Not to mention the baby starts kicking in the wee hours too!

I've been up since 3.30am today and now have to take my DD to Peppa pig live Hmm

And I can't eve have coffee... crying face

cliare · 04/01/2020 08:12

I'm awake every night for a couple of hours and was during my last pregnancy. Also full of snot. So grim!

I'm really sorry you have to endure peppa pig live now. I'd probably just have the coffee Confused

Cupcakes1234 · 04/01/2020 09:34

34 weeks today, everyone at work keeps telling me how low I am and are saying they'd be surprised if I go overdue but I honestly think after being so late with my first I'll be over again this time. I still have 4 weeks of work (though I only do 2-3 shifts a week). I've also started to drink raspberry leaf tea, it doesn't taste as bad as I expected! Baby is also so strong now, some of the movements are actually a little painful but I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can as I know it's my last.

Sorry to hear you're struggling @LolaLollypop. I find I'm getting up a couple of time in the night for the toilet and I can't just turn over in bed anymore so that's always difficult and disturbs me

Dweebette · 04/01/2020 09:55

Also struggling with sleep here. I'm 32 weeks and bump is just uncomfortable when I lie down, like it's really pulling even though I have support pillow under it. Also get the most awful heartburn any time I lie down but can't seem to sleep elevated. But baby is super active (and also very strong!) so I'm trying to enjoy just feeling him/her move. Have braxton hicks again this morning too, so weird the way I can see the muscles squeeze!

tisonlymeagain · 04/01/2020 10:47

Hello Feb mummies! Haven't checked in for a while. All good here, 35+6 and my low-lying placenta has moved. Baby went breech for a few weeks but has turned so I hope he stays where he is now as aiming for a vaginal delivery. I am having a sweep at 37+1 on 13th Jan to see if this kicks things off with another planned after my scan on 17th Jan if nothing happens. Mainly because I have a large baby on board - off the chart and yesterday his estimated weight was 7lb 6oz Shock

sulkysukey · 04/01/2020 16:06

Yes to getting no sleep! Some nights better than others but generally it's way past midnight once I actually get comfy enough, then kids usually up around 5am, so I'm lucky if I get 4 hours. But somehow I think my body might have got used to it now as I'm tired but not totally wiped out.
Only 3 more days at work yippee! Started buying stuff too... car seat and base just arrived and comfy PJs with easy boob access ordered for post-birth - am hoping to just pretty much stay in bed for the first couple of weeks!

hazandduck · 04/01/2020 17:50

Ah we are all so on the home stretch. I have dug out of the loft and washed all my embarrassingly large pants that I wore with Dd to fit the good old adult nappies for after birth 😂 And the hideous nursing vest type bras that made me feel sooo unattractive last time.

Have got a cute strappy nightie to wear with the clips to breastfeed, I remember how unprepared for night sweats post birth I was and they lasted weeks - DD was winter baby so I had trackies and jumpers in my hospital bag and was literally boiling hot I thought I actually had tonsillitis I was sweating so much!

All baby outfits are washed and bagged as we have to set up a new wardrobe for Dd and move baby’s clothes in to DD’s old wardrobe...it’s being delivered on the 8th of Jan, I’m due 6th of Feb so hoping we have time to finish everything.

I’ve washed the old bouncer and DD is putting her little babies in it and tucking them under blankets 😂 practicing her big sister role!

Anyone else keep thinking labour is starting, then it tapers off? I was in agony this morning, thought I was actually going to be sick. Then went to the loo...and it passed! I don’t remember this with my first labour, my waters just went and then contractions started every 8 minutes after.

So ready for baby to come so I can turn over in bed again but equally so nervous about labour!

Ginny1234 · 04/01/2020 19:54

Also seem to be awake more than I'm asleep at night but At least we're all on the home straight, I for one am ready to get to the finish line now.

Finally got rid of our festive visitors today and full on nesting mode has kicked in. Christmas decos down, everywhere spring cleaned, ordered a cot and bedding and new Moses basket mattress. Just need to wash all the baby clothes and pack my bag then I think I can chill out a bit.

3-4 weeks to go but I think the baby must have dropped down today as it feels like he's going to fall out when I go for a wee - is that what it's like?

First time mum and suddenly feeling unprepared after reading all of your posts. I guess what will be will be whether I'm prepared in advance or not. Mostly just got the fear now that something will go wrong and he won't arrive safely. 7 miscarriages so still can't quite believe I'm going to have a baby. It's an actual miracle!

ballsdeep · 04/01/2020 20:24

My baby has dropped too. I had a wee the other day and was bent dou ke with the fanny daggers. It's unbelievable but mw said its the baby's head engaging. I thought she'd end up down the toilet!!!

LolaLollypop · 04/01/2020 20:46

Everytime I cough or sneeze I have a little accident these days Blush I'm really hoping it's because the baby is now low down and pushing on everything!! I've got my next scan on Tuesday so will be very interested to see where baby is now!

Anyone else's LO get hiccups all the time?!

Aw @Ginny1234 so glad you're almost at the finish line! Bet you can't wait to hold your little one in your arms.

Really looking forward to the first baby news!! 6 weeks to go for me...

FirstTimeDS · 04/01/2020 20:57

Everything is going so slowly...about 4 weeks left now and I'm fat, bored and tired.

I'm not sure if he's dropped yet as I still feel he's in my ribs or he's got legs for days like his dad. Doing a mega clean tomorrow which includes my hamster too xD

sulkysukey · 05/01/2020 09:10

@LolaLollypop same here with the accidents with each sneeze 😑
Also yes to hiccups - baby gets them several times a day and has done for the last 6 weeks or so.

45andfine · 05/01/2020 11:51

Reassuring to see we are all experiencing the same things!🤔

I'm going to throw in a suspected case of thrush which really scared me as it manifested as mucousy spotting (tmi?). Well, that's what the midwives told me over the phone. I'm still not sure as I didn't feel like I had thrush, but symptoms could well have got lost amongst all of the other issues!

The range of delivery dates are getting closer, 3 weeks 4 days for me, which seems both AGES away and extremely close!

Off to take decorations down and start nesting properly!

LolaLollypop · 07/01/2020 16:15

Had my 35 week scan today and thankfully all is good with baby! The sonographer couldn't even find the cyst on the baby's kidney so that's amazing, means it's either totally disappeared or is so small it's fairly irrelevant now. Yippee!
Baby is on its growth line - not going to be a biggun (fine by me!). Looking around the 3kg mark. My DD was 3.06kg so new bubs will probably weigh the same.

The sonographer did refer to the baby as HER though! Which means my OH is now adamant it's definitely another girl 😆

Very happy to have the final scan out the way. Now just got to get the baby out somehow!

Quirkyquichie · 07/01/2020 21:45

A friend at work told me of an old wives tale worth regards to identifying girl or bit that i thought was interesting so gave it a whirl.
Lay down flat, and go to sit up, if your bump status round you've got a girl, if there's a point, you've got a boy.

Ive got 4 actual days left in work, 2 this week 2 next. Due to appointments and the remaining holidays i have, so Mat leave officially starts on my 36th week, and hopefully be induced 37th week. People think im mad but think its better do as long as i can so I've got more time when baby is here

KMA1113 · 08/01/2020 06:27

Hello !

Just found this website through some researching

My due date is 02 20 2020!! And am expecting another little boy
I have 1 boy and 1 girl , so this one is my tie breaker..

Quirkyquichie · 08/01/2020 07:28

Congrats and welcome kMA. I like the date 02/02/2020 i think it'll be a great date for a birthday. It looks really neat 😆

45andfine · 08/01/2020 20:14

I'm so trying that gender predictor 🤣🤣 desperate to know, but not going to find out until D day in 3 weeks!

I decided today that my last day working will be at 36+4.

It's become ridiculously uncomfortable trying to check the students ovens and keep missing the burning items on the top shelf of the bottom ovens 🤣.

Ginny1234 · 08/01/2020 23:15

Welcome @KMA1113 👋🏼 great due date!

Sounds sensible @45andfine ... you don't want to be over cooking those buns in the ovens!

I just heard a ticking or clicking noise and couldn't figure out where it was coming from - turns out it was the baby!! Is that a thing?? I've never heard of that. What's he doing in there???

45andfine · 09/01/2020 02:01

@ginny1234 ticking?! Reminds me of the crocodile in Peter Pan 🙄😉

FirstTimeDS · 09/01/2020 03:32

Went into unit for RFM he's fine, heartbeat is fine but on a whim they did a examination as I mentioned my Braxton hicks.

2cm dilated 1cm cervix she poked his head. I'm being kept in overnight unable to sleep with labour probably on the way. I don't have my bag or anything with me 36+1 and terrified

doublebarrellednurse · 09/01/2020 07:52

Oh gosh @FirstTimeDS try and relax it'll make the whole process easier. I had my first at just before 37 weeks and he was absolutely fine please don't panic.

Rest rest rest. Good luck x

sulkysukey · 09/01/2020 14:49

@FirstTimeDS has anyone been able to bring your stuff yet? Hope you're feeling ok and more relaxed now, and they've given you some idea of what to expect - what a shock for you, but you're in the right place!
