Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

@lonelyonee I know 😩 they told me at the docs if I’m still having any twinges in a week to go back and they’ll send me for an early scan so we’ll see. Slight issue is that I’m abroad for a family wedding from 19th-30th August!

Dinosauraddict · 07/08/2019 16:41

@Eventrider1 I'm glad it takes the edge off. Hopefully you can get some more on repeat prescription!

SLT90 · 07/08/2019 17:32

@jlo6308
Did they say what the ache might be? I keep getting a dull ache on my right side on and off (maybe slightly higher than where an ovary would be) and it keeps giving me the ectopic fear too! But no other scary symptoms.

jlo6308 · 07/08/2019 20:04

@SLT90 no, just pregnancy twinges as far as they could see. I’m wondering if it’s something to do with a nerve though as it’s like a tingling/burning sensation on the left (just on the inside of my hip) which keeps travelling down my leg. I wouldn’t even cal it a pain, just a discomfort 😩 have you been to the docs about yours at all?

SLT90 · 07/08/2019 20:52

@jlo6308
Ah right, does sound like yours is maybe a nerve thing! Mine doesn't go down my leg but occasionally feels like it goes outwards towards my hip. I am prone to nerve issues so it wouldnt surprise me. I find it really hard to get out of work for appointments over the summer so haven't gone to the doctors yet, but I think I will go if it gets any worse 🤔

jlo6308 · 08/08/2019 20:06

So I caved and booked an early private scan on Saturday to rule out ectopic pregnancy as the anxiety is killing me and I just want to know one way or the other! Will they be able to tell anything? I’ll be 6+3

Dinosauraddict · 08/08/2019 20:50

@jlo6308 yes at that point they should hopefully be able to see heartbeat too!

lonelyonee · 10/08/2019 19:33

Apologies for being awol ladies, been having a pretty hard time eating the past week. Everything seems disgusting at the moment I'm not usually fussy in the slightest so it's been extremely hard to find anything I can actually eat ☹️

@Dinosauraddict aww that's fab! I wish we knew what we were having so we didn't have to refer to them as "them, they" etc... I also cannot think of any nicknames yet either!
@Eventrider1 oh god I really hope it helps you out 🤞🏻 wow that's mad, is that on your lunch break? Did you manage to get more? Has it helped?
@jlo6308 hmmm does sound like it could be the sciatic nerve thing... I read that it can happen as your womb expands. Ooo lovely! Im very jealous, where are you off to? How did your private scan go?

I'm going to my second scan to check for a heartbeat Monday. Can't fault the nhs in my case they've done everything to make sure baby is okay and I'm so grateful, just praying there is a heartbeat, then I can relax a little.

Eventrider1 · 10/08/2019 20:30

@lonelyonee I did get more but it stopped working after two days which the doctor did warn me would probably happen. Now on Cyclizine but I’m not sure if it is helping. I am now a stone lighter since last Friday and am still struggling to eat much apart from salt and vinegar snack a jacks.

Luckily my work is very understanding. We have men’s and ladies ‘rest’ rooms which have big leather sofas and recliners for people to use throughout the day/night so I have been nipping in there at about 2pm every day for a quick snooze. I have told my manager now and told him how much I am struggling. They have said I can work from home as much as I want or take as much sick leave as I want if I am feeling crap.

jlo6308 · 11/08/2019 11:39

@lonelyonee everything is all good and as it should be at the moment, was so lovely to see the little heartbeat ticking away ☺️ We are off to Italy for a wedding, it’s definitely given me the reassurance I needed before we go!

lonelyonee · 12/08/2019 18:48

@Eventrider1 oh no I really hope you're feeling better! It's great work is understanding for you, I've never heard of anywhere having rest rooms, I'd get sacked if I fell asleep at work!
@jlo6308 aww that's fantastic so happy for you, hope you enjoy every second of your hol 🙂

I had my second scan today... photo attached. I am so happy! Baby was right there little heartbeat fluttering away 🥰 I feel so much better now, like I can relax a little. Although just looks like a blob right now as I'm only 7+1 according to the sonographer, by my calculations I'm 7+2 so we shall see what they say at my 12 week scan!

Hope everyone else is well x

Congrats @lonelyonee and @jlo6308 on your scans. I had another on Monday and all was fine. I'm now 10+1 and really starting to 'feel pregnant' (read as 'rough')!

Eventrider1 · 15/08/2019 10:51

Well after a night in hospital on a drip and anti-sickness meds, I actually feel like a normal functioning human this morning which I am really happy about. Hopefully it will last with the new drug combination I have been put on 🤞🏻

DaniX91 · 15/08/2019 11:14

Congratulations @lonelyonee @jlo6308 @Dinosauraddict on your scans!
@Eventrider1 u must have been really poorly to end up in hospital bless u. Glad you're feeling better now and I hope it continues!
I'm good, we've got a private scan tomorrow night. The midwife said I'm 10wks today but I know I ovulated late so I reckon I'm about 9+3 or 4 days. I've still got sore boobs and absolutely dread brushing my teeth as it sets me off heaving but I've only actually been sick 2 or 3 times. I can't really complain cos others have it much worse!x

jlo6308 · 15/08/2019 13:47

Thank you @DaniX91 and @Dinosauraddict ☺️ Just plodding along here taking every day as it comes, feeling increasingly tired but only a bit of queasiness up to now so fingers crossed 🤞🏼 sounds like you’ve had a time of it @Eventrider1, hope you are starting to feel a little more back to yourself ☺️

lonelyonee · 15/08/2019 15:01

Oh my goodness @Eventrider1 glad it's helped you, I feel for you, sending hugs your way!
@Dinosauraddict do you feel like a zombie like I do? I'm surprised everyone doesn't know I'm pregnant the way I've been acting... which is like I'm dying (so over dramatic 😂) aww 10 weeks! Almost time for your scan!!! Mines forever away and it feels so much longer because we're waiting until then to tell family (& I hate telling lies ☹️).

@DaniX91 thanks! Aww yayy, let us know how it goes, it's actually gonna look like a baby! 🙂 we're referring to mine as "blob" since that's all you can see haha!
@jlo6308 we've definitely gotten off lightly compared to @Eventrider1 bless her. I feel bad for moaning about feeling half dead all the time now tbh!

Anyone had their booking appointments recently? I've got mine on Monday... how long does it usually take? Its at 1.15pm so I'll have to leave work half way through my day and I'm not sure it's worth going back in afterwards.

Btw we're all doing a great job! Remember we are LITERALLY growing humans inside us! 👏🏻😘

Dinosauraddict · 16/08/2019 23:09

@Eventrider1 how are you feeling?

@DaniX91 I also hate cleaning my teeth in the morning atm The other day I had to go to work without brushing them as I literally couldn't stop gagging.

@lonelyonee my booking in appointment was an hour and 20 mins (they'd warned me it would be about an hour)!

Dinosauraddict · 16/08/2019 23:10

And yes @lonelyonee I really do feel like a zombie. Never needed naps so much in my life. We've had 3 scans now, so told most people. I also hated the lying/secrecy and was shutting myself off from people so I didn't have to fib which truly wasn't helping my emotional well-being!

Eventrider1 · 17/08/2019 10:14

@Dinosauraddict I was feeling great until yesterday afternoon. The stupid pharmacy made a mistake with my new meds and when I went to collect them I was told it was going to be 10 days before it is delivered. The lady couldn’t wrap her head around the urgency for my anti-sickness meds. I managed to get another pharmacy to get it in for today but alas the sickness came back with a vengeance yesterday afternoon and I haven’t stopped throwing up since.

I had my booking appointment on Wednesday. Mine only lasted 45 mins. I was really nervous but my midwife is lovely.

SLT90 · 17/08/2019 10:49

@Eventrider1 that's such a shame you had to have a gap in the medication 😣 hopefully it won't take too long to settle when you get back on it today.
What kind of things do they ask at the booking in appt?

Eventrider1 · 17/08/2019 10:55

@SLT90 I know, it is so annoying given that I felt so good before.

They just asked things like how am I feeling (to which I replied miserable!), have I thought about where I want to give birth, am I taking any vitamins, what date suits best for the 12 week scan. Nothing too taxing at all.

Donnamarie2019 · 17/08/2019 11:18
