Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

lonelyonee · 24/07/2019 13:55

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

@DaniX91 thank you, wow it has grown. How are you feeling in yourself though?

jlo6308 · 17/08/2019 16:12

It’s oovely to see your scan pictures @DaniX91 and @Donnamarie2019. I’m getting so impatient, I’m due right at the end of March, maybe even early April so still have about 4/5 weeks to go until 12 week scan and it’s dragging so much! I’m on my summer holidays at the moment so hoping once back to work in September it will go a little quicker! How’s everybody feeling? (Other than needing at least one nap a day!)

SLT90 · 17/08/2019 18:57

The last two weeks for me have consisted of surviving work and then completely slumming it in comfy clothes housebound and sleeping. Today I actually have felt great and had the energy to get up, do housework, get showered and hair/make up done and we went for a long walk and a coffee with the dog. Felt like a butterfly leaving my cocoon 😂😂🦋

Dinosauraddict · 18/08/2019 09:09

Welcome @Donnamarie2019

How you feeling now @Eventrider1 ?

Not sure if my DH and I are being very organised, but this weekend we ordered the nursery furniture! Quite exciting but a little scary! We've already got quite a lot of the more logistical stuff like had an electrician in to fit new light in nursery, fabric shop are currently making us new blackout blinds etc, but this feels like we're really getting there now! (My DH was born 2 months prem, so we're slightly concerned that DC could follow suit...)

lonelyonee · 18/08/2019 09:42

@Dinosauraddict ahh okay, looks like they'll be wanting me to go back to work afterwards ☹️ was going to go to the council with DP see if we can get on the housing. (We private rent an apartment atm but desperately need to move into a house & we're not exactly comfortable money wise so).
I'm glad it's not just me, no one ever tells you how hard this is do they?! I was crying all day yesterday for pretty much no reason as well. Insanity. Aww I wish I could do that but DP doesn't want to until our 12 week scan as he's paranoid, I think I may have mentioned before but an ex of his mc at 10 weeks a few years ago so that's why.
I'm shitting myself about telling my sister also. I can already hear what she's going to say... "you've ruined your life" "you're too young" "you don't own a house" 🙄
Stresses me out just thinking about it. Eurgh.

@Eventrider1 oh no! Are you all sorted now? Did your partner go with you to your booking appointment?

@Donnamarie2019 welcome, that's a great scan pic! Sorry to hear about your mc xx

@DaniX91 aww I love seeing everyone's scans! 🥰 they just grow so fast don't they! I couldn't believe I could see baby on my latest one with a heartbeat after not seeing it at all on the first one. It's mental!

@jlo6308 I'm the same, according to my dates due 28th March so will probably be an early April baby! I also am very impatient and want everything to happen NOW 😂 feels forever away doesn't it ☹️ at least you're not walking round work like a zombie having to lie to everyone about why you look/feel like said zombie eh!

@SLT90 wow go you! Ive been thoroughly house bound other than work, maybe I should do some walking as no doubt I'll be bollocked for not doing and exercise. I've gotta go out today and buy birthday cards and drop them off. Kill. Me. Now. More putting on a brave face and pretending nothing's going on 🙄

@Dinosauraddict (again, haha) oh wow! That is very organised! I can't even begin to think about that. I need to move into a house first... which even finding one is a task within itself, god help me! Very very exciting for you though! I've not done or bought anything yet!

Hope everyone else is well xxx

Oh my goodness @Dinosauraddict that is super organised, I’m full of admiration! I’m not going to beat around the bush, I'm the opposite and guarantee it it will be a last minute six weeks before mad rush getting things sorted! What will be the nursery is currently full of ‘stuff’ that needs sorting and clearing over the next few months!

Eventrider1 · 18/08/2019 10:32

@Dinosauraddict Awful but thanks for asking 😂 seems even my new meds weren’t enough to stop me throwing up this morning ☹️ I really don’t know how I am going to get through the next few weeks. I literally spend all day either in bed or on the sofa wishing the days away. I am finding I am extremely sensitive to smells, I have to hold my breath when I pee (sorry if tmi!) and I can’t go in parts of my house, like my kitchen due to them making me gag. It doesn’t help my stress levels that I have a huge project due at the end of next week and there is 1 person I need to be in the office to deal with that are blocking the final few things from happening to make it a success. Hoping I am better tomorrow to take them on. Gosh you are very organised! I nearly caved last night on buying furniture but I managed to stay strong as we want to wait until at least after the 12 weeks scan and wait until the room that is going to be the nursery resembles less like a shell. It currently has bare walls after stripping wallpaper, various plug sockets hanging out and a single bulb for a light. I did buy some very cute little dribble bibs though which made it feel a little more real.

@lonelyonee yes my husband came in with me but he didn’t really say much. I think he was too busy looking at the pictures of horrendous poop filled nappies on the walls 😂

Dinosauraddict · 18/08/2019 11:46

Haha @jlo6308 at least you accept that, I would be having complete kittens if everything wasn't 100% done by 6 months pregnant. And not just the newborn stuff either - we've already got 3-6 months, 6-9 months and 9-12 months clothes!

@lonelyonee that sounds really stressful. Why do you think your sis will react badly? How old are you? How long have you been with DP? Plenty of people bring a DC into this world without owning property (particularly these days). Perhaps MN could help? I don't know if you're on the property board, but over there we love a challenge - say what area, price, size house you need and someone will manage to find you one I'm sure!!

Dinosauraddict · 18/08/2019 11:48

@Eventrider1 I'm really sorry you still feel this rubbish. I'm having similar problems in terms of smells (can't enter kitchen etc) but no way near as bad as you! Confused How many weeks gone are you? Hopefully it will ease soon!

Eventrider1 · 19/08/2019 08:36

@Dinosauraddict I am only 8+5 so I think I have a while left of this 😩

Dinosauraddict · 19/08/2019 08:48

@Eventrider1 if it gives you hope, I'm now 10+5 and I have definitely been a little better over the last week, managing to eat a little more etc.

lonelyonee · 20/08/2019 14:43

@Eventrider1 poop filled nappies on the walls? Whaaaat?!
@Dinosauraddict she's one or these people who are very overbearing and their opinion is the only one. She constantly tells me and my friends that we are way too young to settle down. We are all 27 years old, it's not like we're 17!
She's in her forties and has no children (she has always wanted them but her long term partner did not, she had an ectopic pregnancy a few years ago also which almost killed her, so she won't be having any in the future either).
Also she's very critical. She often tells me I look bad or have put on weight, she grilled me when I moved in with my DP. She even recently lectured me on marriage and how I must have a prenup etc...
Myself and DP have been together nearly 2 years... we were friends before that.

Just feel like what should be such a happy thing will be pissed all over if you know what I mean. She's already in a mood with me because I wouldn't go out drinking with her. (She LOVES her drink).

In other news I had my midwife appointment which was good. Just waiting for my 12 week scan to come through the post now eeeekkk 😃

@Dinosauraddict oops forgot to reply to the property talk. No I'm not but I'll have a look. We have a limited budget in a small area and we really need a house not a flat. Atm we are three flights of stairs up at the top of the building. Not practical at all heavily pregnant or with baby.
Our contract has a break in it 1st October so I'm panicking because I'd prefer we move then to in March when I'm going to be massive/giving birth.

OP posts:
Dinosauraddict · 20/08/2019 20:16

@lonelyonee your sister does not sound supportive, don't even let her bring you down on this. She clearly has her own issues, some of it being understandable and it must be hard on her, but that does not give her the right to respond to you like that. Also I would definitely vote for moving in Oct rather than March!! If you start a thread on the property board you'll be amazed at what wonders people find in niche areas!

Need opinions - I've had really bad cramps since last night, no bleeding and they ease if I sit/lie down but walking is incredibly painful. If they're still like this tomorrow morning would it be overly precious to ring MW? I'll be 11+0 tomorrow and I'm really worried...

lonelyonee · 20/08/2019 20:57

@Dinosauraddict yeah nothing I wasn't aware of, she'll get over it but it won't be nice to hear all the shit all the same.
I'll have a look, I've been scouring sites every day for anything decent in my area and honestly the choices are shockingly bad ☹️

As for the cramps could be an infection. My water infection caused my pains to be much worse when I ended up in hospital. I didn't have any other symptoms of a water infection either, may be an idea just to get checked in case. I Haven't had any pains since it's cleared up thankfully, so I'm assuming it caused the pain but I may be wrong xx

How's everyone getting on?

@Eventrider1 is your sickness any better? I've bought sea bands to help with my nausea so I'm hoping they help 🤞🏻

Has everyone got their 12 week scan appointments? Mine came in the post today, I'll be having it 21st sept when I'm 13 weeks. So excited I want to blink and have it here already!! 🙂🙂🙂

@lonelyonee thank you for asking 😊 I had a rough time at the beginning of this week and yesterday morning was horrendous but I actually felt really good yesterday afternoon/early evening and managed to eat my first proper meal in a month! I then went down hill a bit just before bed and had a stomach ache which didn’t help.

Today I seem to be okay. I get waves of nausea but it seems to go pretty quick so hopefully this is a sign that things are starting to settle down 🤞🏻

SLT90 · 23/08/2019 12:50

My 12 week scan is 2 weeks today!! Can't wait!!!!! I hope it will go quick with the bank holiday weekend, etc.

I have had a couple of good weeks but yesterday was a random bad day for me. Very nauseous and extremely tired. Slept all evening on the sofa. Maybe it was another growth spurt or hormone surge as I'm feeling slightly better today!

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 14:50

11 days until my 12(+6) week scan!

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 14:51

I've had a tough couple days and been signed off work, but had a scan Wednesday and baby is absolutely fine.

lonelyonee · 24/08/2019 11:07

@Eventrider1 yay to eating a proper meal! Fingers crossed for you! Everyone keeps saying "it'll ease off around 12 weeks" but it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you're struggling to eat.

@SLT90 oooo yay! I hate waiting, just wishing the weeks away which is ridiculous 😂 oh no! Hopefully it's only a one off 🤞🏻

@Dinosauraddict oh no sorry to hear that, but glad baby is okay ♥️ what's happened?

I'm 9 weeks today which officially means baby is now a foetus! I'm enjoying tracking baby on my apps too much I think 😂

@lonelyonee anaemia getting worse, dehydrated, really bad stomach cramps etc. Absolutely exhausted with it all. Currently 11+3 and feeling completely useless. House is a mess (which DH is trying to sort, but really needs 2 of us), haven't been able to walk my Ddogs in 2 days, currently slobbing round in a jumpsuit with greasy hair so really need to woman up!

Plus side is that our cotbed and changing table arrived yesterday so the nursery is really starting to come together!

SLT90 · 24/08/2019 11:35

@lonelyonee
It seems to have been a one off bad day, yesterday and today not as bad thankfully! Actually considering going for my first short run since finding out about the pregnancy either today or tomorrow with DH. On a maternity bra mission this weekend too!

Donnamarie2019 · 26/08/2019 11:26

Had the scan ladies and its growing nicely such a huge difference between my 9 week and 12 week scan. Baby was moving around as well saw it kicking and wriggling I did shed a few tears as it was amazing. EDD has changed to the 4th so its moved forward a few days.

Hope your all okay look forward to seeing your scan pics.
