Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

lonelyonee · 24/07/2019 13:55

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

Hi @lonelyonee really sorry to hear that. Are you waiting for an urgent scan? Have you had any bleeding? I will say that a couple weeks ago I got major dizzy spells, but it didn't do me/baby any damage, although I couldn't walk etc at the time. Keep optimistic. Here if you need us!

Eventrider1 · 28/07/2019 12:08

Hope you are okay @lonelyonee! Will keep fingers crossed that everything is fine.
I have been feeling really dizzy recently as well and I think it is probably just a mixture of the heat and not drinking enough water.

starlightmagic · 28/07/2019 12:54

Hopefully I can join in, an app has estimated I am due 31st March. I am 28 my husband is 27. We had a MMC in July last year. My anxiety is through the roof.

Dinosauraddict · 28/07/2019 13:22

Hello and welcome @starlightmagic !

Keyboard91 · 28/07/2019 13:49

@lonelyonee sorry to hear that :( have you had bleeding? I’ve read of people that had lots of pain and all was okay. Keeping everything crossed for you though, that all is okay.

@Eventrider1 I’ve had lots of dizziness too - it’s my biggest symptom at the moment. But id prefer it to sickness I think!

@starlightmagic welcome - I’m due 26th March due to apps!

lonelyonee · 28/07/2019 14:32

Thanks ladies. No bleeding but the pain was so bad I didn't know what to do with myself it's way worse than any period pain I've had. I'm currently in the gyno ward, had bloods taken, been examined and they're booking me in for a scan ASAP to make sure it's not ectopic.

Good luck @lonelyonee - how many weeks are you?

lonelyonee · 28/07/2019 15:02

@Dinosauraddict 5+1 today, just waiting for my bloods and will be having my scan tomorrow so that's good. Ladies are currently getting me a tea and a sandwich as I've not eaten today and my nausea is unreal.

@lonelyonee aw I hope you're ok! Glad you're being well looked after now😊 x

lonelyonee · 28/07/2019 18:09

Thanks ladies, I'm home now.
Got a water infection but other than that everything came back okay. Still having a scan though just to be sure but I've been prescribed antibiotics and told to keep my fluids up.
Really scared me tbh the amount of pain I was in was ridiculous.
Hopefully the scan will come back okay and I can put my mind at rest xxx

@lonelyonee glad to hear you are home and that it’s a pesky UTI. I have a history or UTIs/kidney infections due to a problem with my renal system and they are really not fun nor comfortable! Hopefully you’ll get to see lovely things at your scan and will feel reassured ❤️

Dinosauraddict · 29/07/2019 08:55

@lonelyonee a reassurance scan is sensible, but try not to fret. I was on antibiotics last week for a UTI too, they seem to be common at this stage!

DaniX91 · 29/07/2019 09:41

@lonelyonee UTI's are so common, I was on them at 4/4 and a half weeks pregnant. I'm glad they've got to the bottom of it for u. When is your scan?

Eventrider1 · 29/07/2019 11:58

Is anyone having an early scan? I looked at this and somehow managed to book an appointment in my local centre without paying a deposit (?!) I have had a very slight red tinge in my cm this morning and I now wondering if it is worth going to check everything is okay or if I am just best to wait until after I have spoke to a midwife.

Keyboard91 · 29/07/2019 13:11

@Eventrider1 we are going to pay for one when I’m about 8 weeks I think, but won’t book it until nearer to the time as nervous (I'm 5+4). You could ring your local maternity assessment unit and say you are worried about the pink CM and they may ask you to come in for a scan to check all is okay so you could be reassured and see your lil bean?

DaniX91 · 29/07/2019 13:16

@Eventrider1 I had one at 5+2 to rule out eptopic, we only saw a gestinational sac and a yolk sac with being so early on. Going for another one in the morning at 7+2 to hopefully see baby and heartbeat 😊.
How far along are u?

Eventrider1 · 29/07/2019 13:28

I am 5+5 at the moment. My midwife has just called to book in my first appointment and I mentioned it to her and she said not to worry. She said if it goes red then to go straight to the drs.
I have gone ahead and booked the early scan for this Sunday just to check everything is okay.

Keyboard91 · 29/07/2019 13:59

@eventrider1 hopefully it’ll just settle and you’ll get some reassurance at the weekend

I just rang to try and book a midwife appointment as I have quite a complex condition which is becoming a little problematic and the earliest she could offer was end of August! 🤦‍♀️ Safe to say that wasn’t appropriate for my current need so she left a note with the midwife who should call me on Weds 🤞

MockingJay27 · 29/07/2019 15:41

I had my 6 week scan today, all was fine, I’m measuring 5 weeks 6 days.
I could se baby’s heartbeat flashing away, it was amazing and emotional.
Trying to just relax now until 12 weeks.

DaniX91 · 29/07/2019 16:05

@Eventrider1 that's good that you've had reassurance from the midwife 😊 I'm sure all will be well at your scan on Sunday.
@MockingJay27 aw that's great news! So nervous for ours tomorrow, I know there will be tears if everything is ok!

lonelyonee · 29/07/2019 17:31

@DaniX91 @Keyboard91 @Dinosauraddict I had no idea I even had one tbh but I'm thankful I know and can treat it. Decided to have the day off work today as I'm feeling thoroughly awful after yesterday. Hospitals are draining!
Received my appointment, having my scan on Thursday morning so fingers crossed everything's okay 🤞🏻
@Eventrider1 we were planning on having one at 8 weeks but now obviously having one this week @ 5+5.
Awww @MockingJay27 that's amazing!!!

Unsure how to explain to work I need to have the time off. Should I just tell them hospital appointment? No doubt they'll expect me to go to work first then have my appointment then come back.

Oooo just out of interest does anyone know their HCG levels? Mine was 14933 which according to google is very high for 5 weeks. Be interesting to see actually how far along I am at the scan!

Dinosauraddict · 29/07/2019 18:24

Great news @MockingJay27.

I have no idea re HCG levels I'm afraid!

Beckied · 29/07/2019 20:30

Hello, I hope you don't mind me joining Smile I'm 29 and expecting my first baby on 29th March 2020. I'm currently 5w 4d.

My OH is 28 and we've been together 10 and a half years, due to marry in July 2020.

We began trying after realising we were both nearing 30. We have friends that are trying and they were struggling so we thought we could struggle too (we're over weight). Anyway, we were only TTC for two cycles, I got a BFP on our second go! That was a shock and we feel incredibly lucky!

I've always been adamant that I didn't
Want any children or especially not yet so people will be so shocked! I'm still getting my head around it!

I haven't had any nausea yet. I'm getting cramps on and off and have some since a few days past ovulation. My breasts are super tender but that's all the symptoms for me up to now.

I've got a booking appointment but it's not until the 29th Aug, when I'll be 10 weeks. The lady in the self referral line said I have to take extra folic acid so I'm waiting for my prescription for that. I hope 4mg of folic acid is enough until it's ready...

Congratulations to all the March mummies on this thread! I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences Smile

MockingJay27 · 30/07/2019 07:45

Congratulations @Beckied !! Welcome to the group. I had cramps on and off the whole time and kept worrying about them but I've been assured it's perfectly normal.
