growingbagpuss · 03/08/2007 09:08

Anything to do with the whole first born thing? Our minds do funny things..

On a more positive note, I have to say I had the BEST nights sleep last night for AGES!! DH was relegated to the sofa as he'd had 4 pints to drink ... so he;s planning on being useful at the h/b then!!. I only got up twice, once for the loo and once for a nice cold drink of apple juice. This morning, despite knowing my bloody mother is en route I feel bright and cheery, have make up and my fav clothes on, and the world is an ok place!!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 03/08/2007 09:18

Glad your feeling bright and cheery today bagpuss, I think I will throw myself into cleaning today, hopefully my due date will go by faster too as there is only 4% chance of me going into labour today but at least I don't have to cook tonight as MIL is cooking so we're off round there for tea, then come back to a nice clean house, that sounds good to me!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 03/08/2007 09:39

babymad them dreams are awful, i had one about my ds a few weeks ago and i got up at 2 in the morning and sat and watched him sleep for 30 mins, think there is some truth in what bagpuss says about replacing one etc...................

Well last night we did the dreaded dead and had sex! As i stated to dh it the only scientific proven thing, and it was, well funny! we managed it and dh said it will give it anthore go for me - Poor dh hasnt had it for so long he did make the comment that last time we had it he was trying to impregnate me nad now he is trying to de - pregnant me!!
Bless Him!! -

Ceolas · 03/08/2007 10:02

Lol, pinkranger! Gotta take it when you can get it

Sorry to hear about your dream Babymad. The mind is a funny thing. Still, not long til the weird pregnancy dreams stop.

Glad you're feeling bright and breezy bagpuss. Hope the visit is bearable.

We're in the midst of a last minute flurry of home improvement atm. Combi boiler going in last night and tonight. New driveway on Monday...

DH 40th birthday next Friday which I'm trying to organise despite my pregnancy scatterbrain! 37 weeks today, but baby had better stay put for a while yet. I've far too much to do!

tokentotty · 03/08/2007 10:08

Hello all, lovely sunny day today which always makes me feel better. Am 39 weeks today with not a sign of anything happening whatsoever....ah well, if it isn't meant to be yet then who am I to argue. Glad Betty's coming with these magic cervix softening tablets today. She was saying about starting them on Monday but I have to confess that I'm not sure I'll be able to resist the urge to start immediately
Well done on managing a bit of action last night Pink, think that's something for me for this weekend too. Lucky DH...

Off out for lunch today for MIL's birthday and can't really be bothered as have then got to go out again for it this evening. Still, better that than have Peanut arrive on her birthday I guess !

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 03/08/2007 10:33

Have a nice time today TT!
remember to tell us what them tablets are called, im sure a few of us wil be down to H&B to get some

growingbagpuss · 03/08/2007 11:18

Well, I now know EXACTLY when I am going into labour.....

Saturday afternoon.....

Because, our surrogate grandparents are in sudbury rowing (2.5 hours away), and because DH is also planning to be in Sudbuy.. bloody rowing.... which he didn't tell me until 1/2 hr ago... at least he is planning on taking DS with him (but again - I was blissflly unaware of this!)..

.. and the final thing is, my B/F is flying to Scotland on saturday night, so won't be able to take DS if I go in to labour and need hm to be absent....

see... its a done deal isn't it?!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 03/08/2007 11:30

done deal bagpuss! MIL planning a weekend away on the 10th I so hope LO is here before then as I will have no one to have DS's!

tokentotty · 03/08/2007 11:34

Well in that case there's nothing for it - we'll have to start an August '07 childminding service for each other !

OP posts:
SweetyDarling · 03/08/2007 11:42

Now that would be the way to ensure that everyone goes into labour at EXACTLY the same time!

itchyncsratchy · 03/08/2007 11:51

Hello everyone,

Well glad it's not just me floating on a sea of hormones, crazy dreams and tears over here too! I had a horrible dream that lo was really ugly, born with big crooked teeth! I was so embarressed and people were so mean. I'm 100% sure this is because all pregnancy people have been commenting how pretty the baby will be, dp's sisters and their kids are all stunningly gorgeous. And yesterday ds and I had a pretty intense conversation after watching tv about racism. It suddenly hit me that there are so many issues related to race and colour and I hadn't thought about my lo's future and how this kind of negativity might effect her.
Then I switched on tv while having my coffee n croissant and the animal rescue live's tribute to working dogs set me off bawling!! So it's confirmed, definitely hormonal!

Thank god dp arrives tonight

itchyncsratchy · 03/08/2007 11:54

and from tommorrow I'm joining the desperate for early arrival, I'm 38 wks today and enough already. I'm stretched to the max already.

myweegirl · 03/08/2007 12:16

afternoon all

i'm feeling sorry for myself, i'm absolutely choked with the cold, sore head, runny stuffy nose and a throat that feels like it's full of razors when i swallow. had a crap nights sleep too.

i'll sign up to the august 07 childminding - though don't that many of you will be willing to travel to sunny (not) scotland at short notice!

itchy - bet you can't wait to see DP!

enjoy your afternoons - i'm off to have some chicken soup and watch bad day-time tv!

itchyncsratchy · 03/08/2007 12:24

myweegirl - I had a terrible cold a few weeks back and survived on tea with lot of honey and lemon, pints of water and a paracetamol every 4 or 5 hours and eat lots of garlic and fruit (not together mind )

myweegirl · 03/08/2007 12:35

i've just added garlic croutons to my soup! DP said that at least if i go into labour i can get some good drugs

bananabump · 03/08/2007 12:58

Hi guys, sorry to hear about all the bad dreams, I haven't had any dreams that I remember for a few weeks now, and before that they were all rude ones! Try not to read too much into them, what you generally find with upsetting dreams is that they are just triggered by anxiety, which its natural to have with a life changing event imminent. They don't mean anything, it's just your brain letting off steam.

I am off to get my hair cut and eyebrows waxed in a bit. May also be talked into a facial if it doesn't all work out too expensive. Last trip out alone possibly for the next few months or even years! weeeeeird.

Mil is now calling every day to ask if I've had the baby, or if I think I'm going to have the baby, or even if I've had any premonitions that he may come soon. Gahhh! I know she's excited and is calling because she cares but I am getting a teeny bit irritated now, as every time we speak I tell her I will call or text her as soon as things start kicking off, and it makes nooooo difference! I spose it's just one of those things...

Anyway no matter who I speak to the conversation always starts with "hello, have you had him yet then?" "Noooo, still here..." and then they say "aaw, you fed up yet?" and you're biting your tongue from saying "YES! because everyone's making me feel like I'm overdue, and I'm not even due til tomorrow!!!!"

Bloody bleedin' caring bastards.

SweetyDarling · 03/08/2007 13:19

MWG, put some tea-tree oil into an oil burner - is wonderful for clearing the nose and sinus and is also anti bacterial and anti viral, so can actually make a real difference. Baths are brilliant as well. Put your head under the water and let the water up your nose a bit.
I hate colds - why does everyone always say "just a cold" when you feel so bloody dreadful!!

treacletart · 03/08/2007 13:23

Hi girls - well I'm going to have my water's broken on Sunday morning! . That's assuming I haven't gone into spontaneous labour before then. Saw the consultant this morning and apparantly I'm 2-3cms dilated and have a bishop's score of 6.5. Guess I ought to get my bag properly packed!

Pengy · 03/08/2007 13:25

Myweegirl I'm with you. Woke up today with my sore throat raring its head again having thought it had gone away and blocked nose/stuffy head too. Taking paracetamol, lots of fluids and very confused whether I actually have a fever or its just too hot in London!

Time to wallow a bit more...

myweegirl · 03/08/2007 13:36

oh treacletart - that's exciting, hope all goes well!

sweetydarling - i hadn't thought of teatree oil, will go and do that now.

pengy - it's a cloudy, windy day here so i know that it's a temp i've got. hope you feel better soon too.

SweetyDarling · 03/08/2007 13:41

Hi

Congrat's and welcome Bresha jnr

Good luck treacle you will have a LO real soon by the sounds of it.

Banana- enjoy the haircut and pamper, i did that myself a few weeks ago, was lovely. MIL definately sounds excited. I had my MIL (to be, that is never getting married to my FIL, but they are engaged for the sake of it ) ring me while i was being induced, as it was taking to long. i mean not even my owm Mother did that!!!

Does/Can anyone put a link to the stats thread again, I can't find it, and would love a peep. Thank you

Have a nice weekend all

Uki · 03/08/2007 14:38

mind reader Kiteflying, well done

JSer · 03/08/2007 15:18

Hello all, haven't posted for ages (as usual). Been mega busy at work - finish next thurs so not long now. Lots of meetings - that always seem to clash with aquanatal that i really love going to and haven't been able to for weeks!

Congrats to the first august mummies - so good to hear positive stories.

I had a scan on Mon and my breech baby is no longer breech. Was a big relief and i really feel for those of you who are still breech and hope there is still time for them to twirl themselves round.

Saw m/w yesterday who told me ny BP was 88/52! She said this was healthy during pregnancy but if i was on a general ward they'd be resuscutating me ! don't feel dizzy so i wonder if she just made a mistake!

Hope people are feeling ok - I've felt pretty sh*te during my whole pregnancy and have only started to feel ok during the last couple of weeks which has been nice and reassurng that all will be ok after the birth. Feel slightly abandoned as m/w said not to come back for 2 weeks (when I'll be 39+5) and i thought - yikes could have a baby by then!
