Any updates from anyone? Trina's been v quiet - she's gone and had a baby I know it!!

I nearly posted at 1.00am to say "LABOUR!!" -2.5 hours of contractions every 6-8 minutes..... made the mistake of going back to sleep -and way hey, its 6.00am and everything has stopped AGAIN!! By the time I go into labour this babe will FALL out!!

I've still got nagging period pains now, so hopefully (and conveniantely it might happen today while DS is at nursery!!)

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 15/08/2007 08:15

Seems like things could be mooving at last for you GBP! Really wishing today was your day! xx

TT - sounds like a good sign, keep us updated, nothing new here im afriad but having a sweep today to try and 'hurry things up"

lizziemun · 15/08/2007 08:22

Congrat's to everyone who already had their babies.

I'm off to have my ECV today (at 9.30am), if LO hasn't moved.

growingbagpuss · 15/08/2007 08:30

Good luck Lizziemum for the ECV- its got to work for someone!!

Hope the sweep is ok Pink. ts not as bad as I thought, just kind of wierd if you think about it too carefully!!!!

Off for a bath, then out for milk and bread.... still nigggling.....

tokentotty · 15/08/2007 08:48

Good luck Lizziemun !
No further developments here but (TMI alert!) the show I had last night was quite big and very bloody. Am thinking about spending some quality time on my exercise ball today - any thoughts ?

stretchmarks · 15/08/2007 09:02

Good luck lizziemum and Pink today.

Bagpuss hope things get going for you today sounds like you had a good run of contractions last night.

Well DS2 now has less than 24 hours before we head off to hospital to look at being induced.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 15/08/2007 09:03

GET BOUNCING TT!!

tokentotty · 15/08/2007 09:09

Hahahhaha right - just the motivation I needed Pink ! Will get off here, get in the shower and then bounce like I've never bounced before....!!!
Will be bouncing with crossed fingers for your sweep though love that's for sure. And for you Bagpuss, Lord knows you deserve it to finally happen after all this messing around !

TT - I had one like that with DD, went into labour 2 nights later (i.e. would be tonight for you). Fingers crossed that something is happening for you!

I've got a consultants appointment this PM - hoping for an induction date. Since falling down stairs everything seems to have moved down. DH nicely said that my boobs are no longer resting on my bump. So might be jumping up the list?

Congratulations typhoon and anyone else I've missed!

Good luck GBP, I expect you'll have a super speedy delivery when things do kick off!

TT good luck over the next couple of days but remember to get some rest too so you've got energy for when everything does start, can just picture whipping up a frenzy in the kitchen!

Feeling more uncomfortable but not completely fed up yet, saving that for when I'm overdue Seem to have a busier day alternated with a quiet one at present. TT I'm taking inspiration from you and planning to bake peach muffins today, hoping they'll taste good

tokentotty · 15/08/2007 10:33

Oooh peach muffins sound fab, I'm off to try and find some buttermilk to make raspberry ones. Now am thinking how nice peach AND raspberry would be...!!! That'll be it for today though as have a hot date with my exercise ball for bouncing. Then, if nothing's happened by the time DH gets home from work I think I'll make him take me out for dinner.

Congratulations typhoonsmum! Good luck with the sweep pink, the ECV lizziemun, and hope you pop soon bagpuss and paperdoll. Loler, seems like falling down the stairs did the trick IYSWIM, bit drastic tho!

TT, I'm so impressed with your baking, are you normally this productive or are you nesting like mad? I'm working my way through the lemon drizzle cake and raspberry muffins my best mate baked for my baby shower at the weekend, feel shamed that I didn't make them myself!

bambi06 · 15/08/2007 11:14

anyone else had slight protein in urine but no other signs and have sent off urine sample to check for urinary nfection..but i dont have any symptoms of a urinary infection, but mucus discharge has increased [tmi] and is a light brownish colour..anybody else had similar?..will have to wait till friday to find out results when isee midwife..hope its nothing..i`ll be one week overdue tomorrow and dont want an induction and have flatly refused anything.

growingbagpuss · 15/08/2007 12:33

No nothing like that Bambi - I know how you feel about the induction thing! Have you had a sweep? I know it is still intervention -but you can look at it like being checked...

I have just been verbally, and almost physically attacked by some chav in Sainsburys -I only went to get a few things. She and her DH were hogging the queue, and I just said "excuse me" so I could put a bit of my shopping on the belt. She accused me of pushing her, then proceeded to turn round and push me (gently) and ask me if "I liked being pushed". I kpet my voice v low, and calm, but now actually wish i'd shouted "assault!" at the top of my lungs. I am furious - not only at her - but at myself for being such a weed!! I was still shaking as I loaded up my shopping!!

growingbagpuss · 15/08/2007 12:36

... but, on the good side... I found £5 in a puddle as I parked my car YEA!!

.. and I'm still getting mild tightenings, so will keep nice and active and see if I can convince them to develop...

itchyncsratchy · 15/08/2007 12:43

oh no bagpuss, are you sure you're feeling ok? how horrible people can be. they must surely have seen you are heavily pregnant.
I don't blame you for not being able to stand up to them at the time, you're not supposed to need to be geared up to defend yourself at the checkout when you nip out for milk mid-contractions!!

I'd take the £5 find as a sign that what goes around comes around, they'll surely get their comuppance too

growingbagpuss · 15/08/2007 12:49

I nearly burst into tears when the checkout girl asked if I was ok..

The crazy thing is, I work with adults with LD and challenging behavour - and can deal with (almost) anything they throw at me (literally) - yet dealing with "ordinary" people I'm crap!!
I have to try now NOT to constantly play over the conversation in my head - trying different outcomes!! I ruminate over things like this somethign chronic -and it is SOOOO unhealthy!!

I still have all my homebirth kit out in the frornt room from last night.. DS went in this morning and said "too many things mummy, too many things!!" Bless

itchyncsratchy · 15/08/2007 13:01

i hope today's the day for you dear!

I'm off to Andy Warhol exhibition, did Picasso yesterday. Feel I owe to ds to make an effort as not going to be able to do much next week after c-section. So I'll be freaking people out with my massive bump. The funniest is seeing people's alarmed faces when I join them in a lift!

But I'm very unimpressed by the number of people, mostly women, who won't give way to me in busy streets etc.. I'm constantly having to circumvent paople who'd happily barge me out the way. Horrible lot!

growingbagpuss · 15/08/2007 13:28

Enjoy!! A few deep breaths and a slightly troubled look is usually enough to get people moving.... I've even managed to get the Police asking if I'm ok!!

Have a nice day, wonder where everyone else is?!!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 15/08/2007 13:33

Hello everyone!

Well had a little bit of an eventful morning, midwife phoned and cancelled but i managed to talk her into coming today after clinic so that will be more like 7pm that i will be having my sweep! Also mentioned to her that baby movements have been really slow for the last few days, i am getting movements but not as much as i had last week, she said if i prod baby and he responds he is ok, well i prodded and poked and prodded an poked some more, hot bath etc and nothing so freaked myself out so went midwifes sent me to day unit, and thats right as soon as they put that monitor on he was fine!!!!! They have booked me in for a scan as they said it could be something to do with the placenta not providing enough so will just have to wait and see!

growingbagpuss · 15/08/2007 13:36

Flippin hek Pink.... hope it all goes ok!! Sure its jsut lack of space - my LO has slowed down loads recently - and even the skin has stopped stretching quite so much!

Fingers crossed for you. xx

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 15/08/2007 13:37

hope so, really just seems to be one thing after the next this week! If the bleeding baby hurried up wouldn't have this worry!
Hoping that Midwife will still sweep tonight!! fingers crossed

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 15/08/2007 16:01

where id everyone - all off having babies

tokentotty · 15/08/2007 16:09

Hey Pink, am stopping by to check on everyone too ! Just dragged myself out of the kitchen for 10 mins . Glad you managed to persuade your midwife to come over tonight. Massive fingers crossed that a sweep really does trigger you off. Wonder how Loler got on with the consultant this afternoon
