growingbagpuss · 09/08/2007 13:16

crikey another 2?!! my internet has been down this morning since my last post - I've been dying to hear bb's news. Wow. She finally got on with it!!

Well done Myweegirl too... although hardly wee at 9lb....midwife agreed finally yesterday that mine will not be small!!

Bloody nothing happening here, just more uncomfy than usual, i suppose little period type gripes... but nothing to write home about.

Pink - impressed by your m/w.... glad you've got some positive action to look forward to -so to speak!!

divamumplusbump · 09/08/2007 13:21

wow, big congratulations to myweegirl and bananabump.
i had mw around for check up, baby may be turned to breech so i have to have presentation scan tomorrow. having had ecv with last pregnancy, im worried i got to go thru that again.
btw, everytime i have water check, they say i have blood trace in it. sample been sent couple tmes for the last 2 months, and they said the result was clear. it confuses me, why there is blood if everything fine, or am i being weirdo.
i have just got to wait till tomorrow for the scan.

BabyMadandBIGbump · 09/08/2007 13:33

Uki · 09/08/2007 13:46

CONGRATULATIONS Banana and WELCOME Little James, unless you've changed names

CONGRATULATIONS My2weegirls and welcome Heather

Update here had ob appointment today, BP is up a bit more so off to hospital monitoring 3x next week. Still suffering diarrhea, I sound like an old woman here, but it's making me so weak and tired I actually want baby to stay in there. i have put in sample now so should find out what's causing it.
baby has dropped but not engaged.

can't quite believe how many baby's are arriving, so real now.

Trinaj · 09/08/2007 13:49

Congrats BB and MWG.
So glad to hear it did finally happen for BB.
Can't help wishing it was me . But still they were both WAY ahead of me in dates - even if I've been suffering this for 2 weeks!
Well done !

Hersetta · 09/08/2007 14:58

Huge congrats to myweegirl on her not so wee girl and banana on the arrival of her little boy (at last).

Am working at home today as could only get midwife appt in middle of the day so no point spending 3 hours travelling there and back. Been spectacularly unproductive again and have just spent last hour re-packing my hospital bag for the 3rd time but this time for a CS so more of everything required. Have half of everything to take with me then another bag for DH to bring in after a couple of days to keep me and LO going. Had to take out all my newborn clothes and just put in 0-3 months ones (but have put them in a carrier bag for DH to bring in if she does not end up being as big as they predict).

I am 37 weeks today but measured 42 weeks at appointment at lunchtime. Must admit now am definitely slowing down and feeling generally knackered all the time. Had haircut today as well so hopefully won't look like a yeti in baby pics.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 09/08/2007 16:58

CONGRATUALTIONS TO BB AT LAST so pleased your baby is here!!!

Had a call today to say that our friends also had their baby today, little boy, unsure of weight as yet! _ Little as she was due the day before me! OMG this pg is making me a bitter women!!!!

gerbiltamer · 09/08/2007 17:59

Hello all,

I feel I've joined rather late, but I've very much enjoyed reading about all of your births and I love the names chosen!

I'm currently due on 22nd August and am bored as hell of being kicked in the bladder and feeling as if a 10lb bowling ball is sitting inside my pelvis. I'm also about as graceful as a fairy elephant, which isn't great. I've started trying the sex/pineapple/raspberry leaf/bouncing on the birthing ball methods, but I reckon he'll be late.

Any words of wisdom for an (impatient) first timer - I'd just rather he was born in August instead of September because I can pack him off to school earlier!

Pengy · 09/08/2007 18:25

Congratulations to myweegirl and banana! Babies are finally coming thick and fast! Hope Annie and her LO is okay and we hear some news soon.

Had a successful shopping day at Bluewater getting bras, blankets and last minute things so finally feel ready. Up to baby now...

itchyncsratchy · 09/08/2007 18:32

hi all, I'm back from pub lunch, haggis neeps n tatties and a bit of a walk today.

babymad- love the name Connie and those photos of brilliant! in the first she looks so bemused at the outside world but confident in front of the camera! absolute classic. and fine and healthy too. well done love

well it's going to be quiet without bananabump, i'm missing her already.

who's next?

itchyncsratchy · 09/08/2007 18:39

and gerbiltamer - great name! I'm due 23rd Aug but booked for c-section on 17th if lo still breech. I'd love an early arrival this week.. I've been trying the (slightly) uphill walking but I'm not convinced anything really works

babymad - I just remembered you had a homebirth didn't you? how did that go? was it just you and dh?

GillL · 09/08/2007 18:42

Welcome gerbiltamer - never to late to join. There are a few lists further down in the thread from a few days ago for to methods to get labour going.

When do you finish work Hersetta? I can't believe you're still managing the commute. Glad you're not working to hard though.

Lovely pictures babymad. I really like the nursery and Connie is so cute. How is she doing? And you?

growingbagpuss · 09/08/2007 19:28

Louloubell (sorry, quiet typing as DS asleep -allegedly) - I'm in Kent now, but hail from just north of Bristol near Filton - what about you?

Welcome Gerbiltamer...lol at name once i'd read it properly!
Just realised myweegirl is the only one to give birth on her due date so far....

No news here, althought DH announced she's sure to come tonight, as he's left something important at work!! Bloddy hope so!!

Babymad - yes how was the homebirth - and look at that babe - I love the way bigger babes enter the world with a slightly bemused look - and then recover quickly and grow into themsleves. Lovely jubbly

growingbagpuss · 09/08/2007 19:29

I meant loupyloulisa sorry - brain mush

LoopyLouLisa · 09/08/2007 19:57

hi bagpuss, i'm not too far from there just by the motorway junction at avonmouth. what made you leave this lovely city?

growingbagpuss · 09/08/2007 21:25

Uni.... then changed uni...... and met DH ...... I didn't have a happy time at school - not a lot to go back "home" for - so i made a life here in kent! Sounds depressing, but actually its the best thing I ever did!!

LoopyLouLisa · 09/08/2007 21:48

doesn't sound depressing at all. sometimes wish i could move away from it all and demands of family etc (mainly ils) but i rely on my mum to help me out with ds as i'm too much of a wimp to do it all myself. supposed to be getting on with packing my hospital bags tonight but really cant be arsed. too much to think of and would ideally take the kitchen sink with me!

growingbagpuss · 10/08/2007 08:10

Well - there may be a little action at this end..... certainly had a show this morning - but apparently that can just be from the sweep and may not indicate labour at all!! I'm tired, grumpy and just want to go to bed -which I am going to do..... maybe its a super triple dose of hormones making me feel this way.... fingers crossed hey!!

rhiannon134 · 10/08/2007 08:25

No posts yesterday as I spent the day in agony, not even in labour tho. Midwife came out at 10am and informed me that I had a stomach bug, the agonising cramps I'd been experiencing for the last 4 hours were nothing to do with baby at all. Great, like being 4 days overdue isn't enough to piss me off I have to spend the day throwing up as well. Was seriously annoyed, and terrified I'd go into labour while really ill as I wouldn't have had the energy for my planned home birth. Feeling better now tho a bit delicate, would still like a day to recover but had a show last night and lots of low down cramps so maybe I won't be so lucky.
Glad some babies came while I was away, especially bananabump, was really feeling for her as I was same first time round.
Can't decide whether to eat anything this morning, really don't feel like it but if baby comes will need energy. Yuk still feel so rough!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 10/08/2007 08:47

Rhinnon - Hope you start to feel a bit better today, poor you soo disappointing!

GBP _ Where are you, is it happening at last for you

tokentotty · 10/08/2007 08:50

Oooh Rhiannon, poor you. That doesn't sound fun in the slightest. Perhaps try and start yourself on some tea and toast for now just to get something inside you and settle your stomach 'in case' ??

My due date today....and nada, rien, nilch, zip, bugger all. Still, seeing Betty later and I think she's going to give me a quick examination to see what the current state of play is. Have a feeling it'll be nice to know whether I am physically 'getting anywhere' or if the cervix is still high and tough. I can cope with either but think I'm ready to know so there can be some expectation management in place !!

fingers crossed for you Bagpuss !!!!
