pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 10/08/2007 09:01

stretchmarks · 10/08/2007 09:15

Morning all,

Beautiful photos Babymad. Well I am off to the midwife for a sweep this morning to see if we can get this lo moving as I will be 41 weeks tomorrow. At least I know there's only another week left I'm quite happy to have an induction by 42 weeks.

DH has tickets for the first match at Villa tomorrow which seems like the best time for me to into labour I think

stretchmarks · 10/08/2007 09:16

Rhiannon134 - forgot to say I hope you are feeling better soon.

tokentotty · 10/08/2007 09:28

Hahahah Stretch, I know what you mean. My DH is hoping to make it to the first Arsenal game of the season on Sunday lunchtime...mwahahahhahahaha (evil laugh )

My eyes are watering at the thought of your friend's baby Pinkranger...!!

OP posts:
pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 10/08/2007 09:35

I know, they told her it was going to be big, but about the same as last one ( 8lb 10oz) - bet they are gobsmoacked!! Must be my friends, my other friends babe was 10il 1oz and she pushed him out with Gas and Air

growingbagpuss is Quiet!!!!!!!! she has normally post by now!!

tokentotty · 10/08/2007 09:42

Bagpuss posted at 8.10am saying she was grumpy and going back to bed.... here's keeping everything crossed that since she went that show turned into something more !!

So that's two of your friends with big babies eh Pink - reckon you'll be the third...????

OP posts:
pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 10/08/2007 09:46

Oh yes,didnt see that!!
Midwife said baby will be bigger then DS he was only 7ilb 10 and 2 weeks late but hoping its not to big!!!!! Is betty sweeping today ????

Im of to ASDA to do shopping soon, not looking forward to it and dh has offered to go straight from work but then im left with DS until 8pm on my own, not sure what is harder so im opting for the shopping with DS saty in trolley being plied with sweets and playing his gameboy - He may just come back in one piece then!

tokentotty · 10/08/2007 09:50

Hahahah I bet you're hoping it isn't too big after hearing about those other two babies !!!
Not sure Betty's actually going to sweep or just check the condition and position of my cervix to be honest.

Hmmm, not overly envious of your Asda run with DS I must say. Reckon the sweets and gameboy plan is definitely the way forward though - that or get the medised out !!

Congratulations bananabump and myweegirl!!

Babymad, Connie is a lovely name and she's gorgeous! Love the first pic.

Good luck with Betty TT, hopefully she'll have some good news. Hope everything gets moving for bagpuss soon, not sure I can cope with reading about another weeklong labour like bananabump! So happy she finally made it.

Good luck with the sweep stretchmarks, and hope you're feeling better soon rhiannon.

DP's off to the first game of the season at Southend tomorrow, would be funny if we all started contracting! I've got a few friends coming over for a baby shower, so don't want LO to interrupt that. At least there'll be people around though!

Hersetta · 10/08/2007 10:22

Last day in the office today - am am working flat out !! I am working from home next week but just typing up handover notes, lists of things to de done etc for my temp cover. My boss hasn't even mentioned going out to lunch today so am going to visit a friend in hosipital at paddington instead.

Happy Due date TT - hope you get some positive news from Betty later. I have 13 days to my CS and am trying not too think about it too much as I start to crap myself (not literally obviously) about it. To be honest though will be glad to get the little minx inside of me out as I am terribly uncomfy at the moment. As her arms, feet and head are all resting between my waist and my boobs she spends all all her awake time beating the crap out of me and is making me a bit sore. My latte and chocolate croissant last day treat woke her up big time at 8.30 and she hasn't stopped since. Sitting typing at my desk is really uncomfy as I have to lean forward which makes it hury even more - wouldn't be too upset to be honest if she came early.

Good luck to everyone this weekend. TT - I hope your DH doesn't get to make the footie on Sunday!

Pengy · 10/08/2007 10:24

Oooh Rhiannon, can sympathise with you feeling rough. My cold is only now feeling better and have had longer stretches of sleep these last 2 nights, 3.5-4 hours each, yippee! Starting to feel like if LO decided to arrive I'd at least have a bit more energy.

Hope things start for you soon bagpuss. Pink at your friend's baby sizes!!

Good luck with Betty today TT. I'm also seeing my midwife around lunchtime although imagine all will be routine.

lovelybird · 10/08/2007 10:38

Congrats to everyone who has had their lovely babies. Our flipping internet has been off for days, thankfully DH has fixed it.
I'm due on Monday, no signs as yet. DS was a couple of days after due date so not expecting anything until mid next week. Off to a wedding reception tonight so hopefully some boogying will encourage LO to come out soon.
Hope everyone's OK and not too hot.

gerbiltamer · 10/08/2007 10:43

Thanks for the compliments regarding my username - I've often thought that a gerbiltamer would have to sport a very small cane and top hat

I'm impressed at the size of all of the babies, my MW thinks that mine will be 8.5lb, I think bigger...still time will tell!

growingbagpuss · 10/08/2007 10:51

Hello...

I'm almost hesitating at typing as I don't want to disappoint anyone..... but BUGGER ALL happening here.

Still tired, still grumpy.

Fingers crossed for you TT and Stretchmarks -you see I'm politely waiting for you as I don't want to queue jump (ha ha)

I'm going to go away and continue with my frenzied cleaning activiities and hope something dislodges the baby.. ahh I might do some weeding as I can do that squatting for short periods.....grrrrrrrr

I think I'll lurk today.

Oh yes someone asked about Arnica - I bought the boots 30c stuff - and am roughly following the dose on the bottle - which I think is 2 tablets 3 times a day. Its supposed to help VV to an extent as well - and I can't tell a lie - they are better now that ever - BUT th LO has shifted too... Bellis Perennis is supposed to be better, but it did naff all for me!

tokentotty · 10/08/2007 10:55

hahahahah Gerbiltamer - that's exactly what I envisaged when I read your name !!!

OP posts:
kiteflying · 10/08/2007 12:04

CONGRATULATIONS Banana and WELCOME Little James, unless you've changed names
CONGRATULATIONS My2weegirls and welcome Heather
Good luck to growing and anyone else who is hoping to birth today/tomorrow (Token totty?)

I was thrilled with the photos of Connie - how peaceful she looked as soon as she had settled. Lovely little face! Also wonderful choice of name Babymad - you must be so proud of her.

It is finally my last day in the office. It is sunny. My mother has arrived from Australia, and best of all I am happy to report a baby that is head down, heart beat strong and three fifths engaged! Joy, I might pop early.

I may not be on v much for the next few days as I will enjoy not being tied to a computer and a desk at last but I will be thinking of you all. Hersetta - get thyself out of the office asap!

stretchmarks · 10/08/2007 12:22

Well I am back from the midwife - she did the sweep but then said she didn't hold out too much hope for it working . So I have booked in for an induction next Thursday.

Going off to sulk for the day now......

paperdoll · 10/08/2007 13:05

Hi everyone - reading this is making me excited, thought I would say hello although I haven't posted here before. I'm in Edinburgh, due on Monday (13 Aug) with my first LO - don't know if we've got a boy or a girl.

I'm not superstitious but just a few minutes ago I knocked a hand mirror off a table and it smashed (clumsy numb carpal-tunnel fingers to blame)! Have just been clearing up all the tiny shards and thinking about the old "seven years' bad luck" thing. I know it's nonsense really but I still wish it hadn't happened, aargh ... but never mind ...

Anybody else here from Scotland?

growingbagpuss · 10/08/2007 13:08

Stretchmarks - I'm sorry that's a bit miz isn't it? I had an email fro my (childless) sister today saying she had just been talking to a midwife who had recently given birth. She had a sweep and went into labour that evening. My sister then proceeded to tell me that obviously mine hadn't worked .......The sense of humour bypass is without a doubt complete, and I am now begining to wonder if I will get it back.

For me the idea of induction is terrifying. It is crazy really, given those of you who are forced to go down the CS route because of naughty babies. Right now I feel like my body is not doing what it shouldbe . I've got so far, and this bean has already made it thru' a GA when I had appendicitis, and I feel somehow that an induction is so medicalised, and will lose me my homebirth and everything else... I know I have another week and a bit before they'll induce, but I can't help wodnering how big this LO will be, and the sort of damage it could do - given what DS did and he was 9lb 4 [ grumpy emoticon]

growingbagpuss · 10/08/2007 13:10

Paperdoll - you have picked a bad day to turn up..... not only is it quiet, but I think those of us who are here are mega grumpy!! Somewhere there is a postnatal thread with stats on it (actually it might be antenatal.....) please feel free to add your self. I'd usually offer, but i'm off to find food to console myself!!

Feel free to post in grumpiness, delight or any toher emotion!!

Oh yes - there are a couple in Scotland... who I'm sure will emerge from the woodwork at some point!

Trinaj · 10/08/2007 13:22

Feeling slightly more normal today!
Still no baby - obviously! But have stopped having contractions - completely.
Although I'm a little disappointed at not having it after 2 weeks of on and off contractions - I feel a great relief from not stressing about every twinge etc..
Taking the time to relax now - while I can and hope that next time it will be for real.

paperdoll · 10/08/2007 13:24

thanks growingbagpuss, sorry to hear you are having a bad time - food sounds like a good solution. About to go and have some myself. Maybe things will pick up later on or tomorrow, I don't mind, just wanted to add myself to the thread.

(d*mn these little mirror shards, they are everywhere!)

nicknackpaddywack · 10/08/2007 13:24
