Good luck banana! Hoping you'll be meeting your wee boy really soon.

Hope your sweep isn't too uncomfortable GBP and gives everything a hurry along.

Wonder how Annie is?

growingbagpuss · 08/08/2007 09:24

Pink - I had very sore bits the other day -only to realise that it was Thrush (again...) - sorry for asking TMI - but do they sting to touch or just swollen and ermm.. in the way? As soon as I sorted out some Canesten they reverted back to the usual degree of swollen ness -actually, I've also started taking Arnnica -to build it up ready for labour, and I think that has made a huge difference!

I'm 40 + 1 or 2 depending on if you go on my dates or the sonographer (mine is 40+ 2!!)

One of the other Mums at DS's nursery is due today... I will be very if she goes into labour before me!!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 08/08/2007 09:34

Good luck banana! Thinking of you!

GillL · 08/08/2007 09:42

Good luck banana. Glad you're finally there now. Look forward to receiving a text from your dp so I can update everyone when the baby arrives!

stretchmarks · 08/08/2007 09:49

TT - not too bad just feeling a bit tired, fed up and emotional - oh the joys. I've got a sweep booked on Friday and really hoping that will set me off. Really want to use the midwife unit and not have to go into Burton Hospital to be induced. Off for another aromatherapy bath..........whilst sipping raspberry leaf tea !

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 08/08/2007 10:00

Hi strech - hopefully it will all go to plan for you !
Sorry ladies if tmi but in repley to GBP - they are Just really big and swollen, feels like i have pulled muscles in them - Never had it with ds and worrying now about how i will move around in labour if i cant even turn over in bed without it being a major struggle!!

growingbagpuss · 08/08/2007 10:10

Sounds like sim to me Pink - have you tried some canesten cream to see if it makes anything feel better? Its my usual fail safe - can't do any harm, and if it relieves it, then go get a prescription from GP!!

Wierd, but today I feel strangely calm, and not really hurting or anything. I'm dreading the sweep - I HATE being touched - and was only checked once in labour with DS because I'm so anti it !! But - on the other hand, it feels a little like the light at the end of the (very long) tunnel.

So, in prep for having a lovely baby to snuggle soon (ha ha), I've washed the bed linen (planning on giving birth in frnot room - more space to move around and kick DH - and further away from DS if its at night) and making sure house is presentable to M/w!!!!!!

Yesterday, having slaved, DH didn't even notice how clean the kitchen is. Why do I bother?

Sorry, long, boring post. I'm going to bugger off now and do some family tree work, which I have been trying to do for ages, but get distracted by you lot!!

bananabump · 08/08/2007 10:22

Oh god, I fell asleep while discussing what to do first. Is that bad? I was woken up by my own snores LOL

Here comes another contraction anyway, looks like they didn't mind my having a rest too much.

Gill, thanks chuck! Won't forget to text you, don't worry.

And Hersetta, thanks for the support, I'm not letting them play the overweight card too much either, especially since the last midwife I saw said my blood pressure was miles better than her own lol

Hersetta · 08/08/2007 11:21

BABY ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a text buddy text from Conkertree and she had a little boy last night - no other details rec'd. She said she'll post more details when she gets home tomorrow.

Congrats Conker!

SweetyDarling · 08/08/2007 11:31

Hi everyone,
Huge congrats to the new mummies!! So exciting!!
Best of luck to everyone who is kicking off!

Am v jealous as I still have 3 weeks on the clock.
By the way, I was walking past our local pub the other day (gazing whistfully at everyones nice cold beers) and a youngish (30 something) bloke wolf-whistled me! Does anyone else think this is odd? I would normally ignore him, but just had to give him a very surprised raised eyebrow kind of look. He was only a few metres away so there was no mistaking the fact that I am very VERY pregnant. Wierd fetish type, or should I just be proud?

typhoonsmum · 08/08/2007 11:34

Hiya everyone. Got my induction booked for tomorrow. If DD is anything to go by I'll go into labour tonight but I don't feel like I will. But as everyone keeps telling me it is my second baby and things move quicker second time around.

growingbagpuss · 08/08/2007 11:54

thanks Hersetta - we look forward to more details as they come!1

Bored doing family tree - I've been working on it for 18 months, and I think actually I've got as far as I can. I love doing it, but its v tedious sometimes

Anyone else want theirs doing?

itchyncsratchy · 08/08/2007 12:12

hi everyone,

so the baby rush has begun? excellent!

I had a wonderful long sleep, woken up to sunshine and dp wants to take an open top bus tour to see edinburgh! although I don't know how on earth I'll get up there, haven't done stairs in a while..

Hope everyone has a good day

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 08/08/2007 14:13

CONGRATUALTIONS TO CONKER!!!!

bananabump · 08/08/2007 14:38

Wahay! go conker, can't wait for more details.

Well I just woke up from an almighty nap and I feel SO much better, I was wondering how I'd make it through whilst being so tired. Unfortunately contractions have stopped but I'm fairly confident they'll come back as soon as I'm up and mobile.

I didn't realise they could be so stoppy and startey!

Typhoon, I have everything crossed for you that you go into labour naturally tonight and it's far far too much information but I will confide in you that what actually kicked everything off properly last night WAS a dose of "oral prostaglandins" so perhaps give that a try? I might have to give it another try shortly.

GillL · 08/08/2007 15:08

Congrats conkertree!

That's a shame banana. I'm sure your dp won't complain too much

bananabump · 08/08/2007 15:21

They're back (starting off very mild but 5-7 mins apart again) so I've had a reprieve. lol

Ceolas · 08/08/2007 15:34

You're having a time of it banana, aren't you? Hopefully once things get regular, baby will fly out!

Would someone please take my credit card away? This afternoon I have ordered breastfeeding pyjamas and bra from Blooming Marvellous, Moby Wrap sling from Natural Mothering and some nappy wraps from Kittykins

Don't think there is anything else I need...

kiteflying · 08/08/2007 16:10

nesting nesting nesting Ceolas.

Seems our club is now divided into the "nesters" and the "poppers".

Good luck all poppers but especially to bananabump. Don't think I can handle the suspense much longer with you, girl!

Anyone else AWOL and possibly birthing apart from Annie? TT - you out there?

Congratulations to conker - adding another boy to our surprises list (cannot wait to here the name)
Thanks to all you poppers I was tossing and turning last night rehearsing all my boy baby names - still not sure we have cracked it but I dare not raise the question with DP again.

Ceolas · 08/08/2007 16:17

This nesting has cost us a fortune, lol!

New boiler and driveway in the last week, too...

We inflated the BPIAB on Monday night. Will do a test run filling it with water next week. Can't wait

GillL · 08/08/2007 16:20

Good news banana, but you must be getting fed up. There's light at the end of the tunnel though.

I know what you mean about names kite. Dh and I still can't agree. Previously when I mentioned it he kept telling me to leave him alone as there was plenty of time. Now I'm getting annoyed with everyone asking me. Dd didn't have a name til she was 2 days old so it won't hurt for the same to happen with this one.

bananabump · 08/08/2007 16:23

Kiteflying, I'm pretty sure this boy just likes to keep everyone guessing! Off for a walk in a sec to speed things up/buy chocolate. Er...the glucose will keep my strength up?

Do you have a favourite name now? As I said I think we're going with James, but the other contenders were Elliot, Joseph, Damon or Cole. Really hoping dp settles on James now, I feel like it's the right one.

stretchmarks · 08/08/2007 16:31

Congratulations Conker can't wait to hear more details.

Goodluck with the induction Typhoonsmum.

Banana - hope the contractions keep up and get stronger this time.

Ceolas · 08/08/2007 16:42

We've got a girl's name but can't agree on a boy.

I like something for a day or two then go off it!

kiteflying · 08/08/2007 17:06

Bananabump - just think of the conversation you can have when he gets to sixteen and is heading out to his mate's house "And don't you be late home. I had enough of guessing when you were going to turn up in the days before you were born"
