WHAT no news from babymad yet?????
Oh well probably enjoying a big cuddle by now.

Banana- it's does sound like your body is doing loads of preperation work, You probably will have one of those 2 hour labours Hope so! You have summed up dh's and little boys perfectly, My dh can't help spoiling ds rotten with toys and much to my horror every room resembles a sea of coloured wood and plastic, they have a ball together!!!

8 days to go for me, I'm sooo tired though not sure where I'll get the energy for birth

bananabump · 07/08/2007 08:01

Ooh you're having a surprise then! That must make the wait even more exciting for you! There's no way I could have NOT found out at the 20 week scan though, I was obsessing about it for weeks beforehand. I actually had my heart set on a girl but now I'm so used to thinking of him as a boy I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's probably lucky I did find out when I did though because the temptation to buy hundreds of tiny pink clothes would have just been too much. When are you due again? Do you have a gut instinct on the sex?

Just got my first "have you had him yet?" text of the day, followed by a recommendation to try hot curry, hot baths, hot sex (surely they jest) and bouncing on the ball.

Can I settle for lazing on the sofa with a brew instead?

bananabump · 07/08/2007 08:12

lol, aren't men just big kids at heart?

Uki you must be getting excited now, won't be long I'm sure! I don't know about me having atwo hour labour but apparently my sister was fairly fast with hers (I think 4 and 3 hours respectively) and my niece laboured at home with just paracetamol for ages not realising she was as far dilated as she was. When she finally went in she was 9cm and being only 18 the midwives were a bit shocked she did so well and hadn't gone in earlier! So maybe it won't take too long or be too bad.

LOL

Babymad, where are yoooou? Hope you're snuggled up with tea, toast and the baby by now! xxx

growingbagpuss · 07/08/2007 08:36

Boys and their toys - my DH was the same - he enojyed his snuggles with Ds when he was new born, and you can se how content they both were from piccies - but he is REALLY in his element now, with train sets, lego towers and bicycles!!

He is slightly less sure about the girl thing (I HAD to know, there was no way I waiting til... whenever this LO deigns to arrive!) - but I think once he sees her, he'll be smitten. Its nice he has a godd time with DS coz it'll free me up to enjoy the new baby a bit more.

So... Annie, BabyMad.. where are you?

Conkertree not posted this am... did I see one from stretchmarks?

Hersetta · 07/08/2007 08:55

Mrs B - sorry still giggling from your 'waters breaking'. Must admit though in my last week of being in the office that having my waters break on the tube is my greatest fear - still might finally guarantee me a seat though!

Congrats treacle - love the name Imogen. Another really quick labour. Hope there are enough to go round and you early August ladies aren't steeling all the short ones!!

Loads of luck to Annie and babymad - looks like me might have more baby news before the day is out.

banana - all sounds positive for you. Hopefully after all these practice ones you'll get a nice quick labour as your body is obviously getting well prepared.

treacletart · 07/08/2007 09:03

Wonder how they're getting on. Exciting isn't it? Fixed my profile now I think - come on cyberspace look at my pics! noone in real life has seen them yet!

bananabump · 07/08/2007 09:08

Aaaw love the pics treacletart! Gosh you look positively glowing, lucky sod. Imogen is beautiful, ooooh so now! How is she getting on?

bananabump · 07/08/2007 09:08

And how are you feeling?

treacletart · 07/08/2007 09:14

Aw cheers! Bit tired, bit battered but very well thanks!

treacletart · 07/08/2007 09:16

and she's doing fine, feeding well - sleeping lots .. much more than I am!

tokentotty · 07/08/2007 09:16

Oh Treacletart you look absolutely fantastic !!! You really are glowing in that picture, would never guess that you'd just had a baby by looking at you. She's gorgeous though, as is your DS. Very handsome family !!

As Banana said, do you feel as well as you look ??

BabyMadandBIGbump · 07/08/2007 09:24

tokentotty · 07/08/2007 09:24

WOO HOOO !!!!!!! Congratulations Babymadwith NO bump !!!
Fantastic news and well done on being so bloody brave !!

typhoonsmum · 07/08/2007 09:26

Well it is official. I AM THE LAST ONE ON THE JULY BOARD. Still no sign of the baby. It's very lonely over there. Was due 9 days ago and nothing yet. Have a sweep at the midwives this afternoon and they'll book an induction but they won't do it till next Monday. I'll be 15 days late then and I think that is wrong to leave me over 42 weeks.

Pengy · 07/08/2007 09:27

Congratulations BabyMad! Well done you, no G&A Very impressed you were posting thru the night.

Love your pictures Treacle, what a cutie!

Banana I too am in the clot brigade having clexane after delivery... Already had one DVT scare a few weeks back and one leg continues to swell more than the other. Trying to be disciplined and wear support stockings but challenging in this heat!

bananabump · 07/08/2007 09:28

Wow! Now we know what was causing that BIG bump! No pain relief at all? You hard sod. LOL

Seriously though, congratulations, you must be over the moon! Give us all the gory details when you've had a decent rest and feel up to it.

Such an exciting thread these days!

treacletart · 07/08/2007 09:28

Congratulations Babymad! So envious of the home birth but OMG no gas and air!!!! Now go and get some rest in the comfort of your own bed - well done that woman!

tokentotty · 07/08/2007 09:28

Oh poor you Typhoonsmum, sorry to hear you've been left behind but you really are so welcome over with us. Haven't looked at your thread so don't know what you've tried to do to help yourself start off so why not let us know and we'll all see if we can think of anything you've missed to help out ??

Just popping in from the September 07 thread. Just want to wish you LOTS OF LUCK

typhoonsmum · 07/08/2007 09:31

I've tried everything!

Sex,
Curry,
Long walks - just tired myself out
Pineapple - don't eat a whole one the acid burnt my lips
Raspberry tea - Just seems to stop any period pains I get.
Hot baths,
Grapes,

Not tried castor oil as I believe it isn't advisable but if I hang on much longer I might.

BabyMadandBIGbump · 07/08/2007 09:31

Dont worry I'm sat here doing nothing and it's what I intend to do!

bananabump · 07/08/2007 09:34

Aaw typhoon, I do feel for you, you must be terribly frustrated. I think it's cruel they're leaving you so long when other hospitals seem to just induce when you ask them to. I've never heard of another hospital leaving you to go so long, most people are posting on MN saying they've been threatened with induction BEFORE 42 weeks and they don't want it!

I'm guessing you've tried to appeal against it/kick up a fuss? It just seems so unfair on you. Nevermind, join us and have a moan, I'm only 40+3 but still waiting impatiently for this lo to make an appearance!

Whatever happens, all this stress and frustration will be a distant memory in two weeks time, remember! (To be replaced by cracked nipples and sleepless nights)

tokentotty · 07/08/2007 09:35

Ok Typhoon, two important things missed off your list there love - accupuncture and reflexology. Get that yellow pages out OR put out a thread for recommendations in your area ?
Also, I've been put on Caulophyllum 200 which are a homeopathic treatment to soften/ripen the cervix. Perhaps see if you can get hold of them. Plus some lavender and Clary sage essential oils to add into your bath. Oh, and the compulsory nipple stimulation !!!!

OP posts:
BabyMadandBIGbump · 07/08/2007 09:35

it was that lavender bath and sex that did it

typhoonsmum · 07/08/2007 09:35

yeah that is the only thing that is keeping me from going completely insane. Once he does make an appearance i can say goodbye to rationality
