Anyone else getting leg pain? Finding when i stand after sitting for a while i get stabbing pains in my right leg in particular but sometimes also the left. Then before walking back from the shops i had the same pain start up again

DustyDoorframes · 14/07/2019 15:38

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I've been told the same- my aspirin prescription is only up to 36 weeks. Apparently the evidence show it makes no difference after that, and as you say, the side effects could be more problematic.

@ColdCottage I'm self employed, but more of a freelancer than a business owner...

@Fortheloveofscience The baby's feet could have been in a completely different position at the scan than the rest of the day! Mine is still all over the shop- she was head down on Monday, transverse on Friday, and flipped just after the midwife had listened in, possibly to head down again. But she rearranges herself all the time!

@IVEgottheDECAF That sounds sore!!! Is it like a variant of leg cramps?? If it feels quite localised it probably wants looking at (since we are at greater risk of thrombosis...)

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 15:45

There is no swelling, redness or hot to touch skin so I'm not too concerned about dvt but its a pain i dont remember from previous pregnancies

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 15:46

And its not so much of a cramp no, its really hard to describe. Next time it happens ill try and find the words lol

Hsunshine · 14/07/2019 16:10

My hospital bags are 90% packed, feeling ready now which is scary

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 16:21

My hospital bag is under my bed full of shoes. Babies hospital bag is being used by dd for her dolls ....

happydays00 · 14/07/2019 16:37

@ColdCottage I'm also self employed but again more freelancer than business owner.

Whoever mentioned curry! I want one now!

I've pretty much finished my hospital bags now which is extremely organised for me but I've been told that I'm high risk of premature labour and if any problems discovered at my twice weekly monitoring/scans it will be an immediate delivery. I still need to get the car seat but that's on my list for this week

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 16:50

I still feel months and months away from having this baby!

Hsunshine · 14/07/2019 17:10

@happydays00 I’m similar, think they are still planning on baby coming for 37 weeks

@ivegotthedecaf how many weeks are you?

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 17:15

32+3!

kyles101 · 14/07/2019 17:22

I was planning on doing my hospital bag whilst on mat leave to give me something to do but my first week is now fully booked and by then I'll be 37 weeks so thinking I should actually get on and get something packed in the next couple of weeks.

Need to wash baby clothes though first - what's the verdict on washing powder? I've read arguments for both bio and non and I'm now just confused 🤷‍♀️

McShakey · 14/07/2019 17:23

We decided on our little girls name today!

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 17:30

We always use non bio for everything as we have eczema people in the house. Haven't washed anything for baby yet.

Got some bits out from the loft which need cleaning e.g. moses basket

boodles101 · 14/07/2019 18:59

I've sorted my hospital bag today. Started on the twins bag but then got totally confused. Don't have a clue what to pack, what sizes or how many of each. Going to take 2 different sizes but I feel like I'm just putting in so much that won't be needed!

DustyDoorframes · 14/07/2019 19:04

@IVEgottheDECAF sounds grim! (Re leg pains). Sciatica sometimes goes down legs- and you PGP must have knock on effects on your muscles elsewhere too??? Like you need another sore thing to deal with...

Hah my hospital bag is also not even begun beginning... I get back from hols at 32+4, I'm going to start thinking about procurement then. My other two were both born on or just after their due dates so I'm not too worried. Complacent much...

Woot name @McShakey !! I think this child might end up being Baby on their blinking birth certificate, we are just so bad a naming...

BBell2 · 14/07/2019 19:07

@ColdCottage sharing your pains and lack of bladder control with the summer cold! Have gone through some pads!

@kyles101 I did find work contact stresful - the company went through loads of change and I just felt talked AT and DD, as much as I tried to schedule calls around naps she just didnt sleep and was a very gassy upset baby. 3 mths after I went back I was in a different role...so it just wasnt worth the effort, for me at least.

McShakey · 14/07/2019 19:08

My hospital bag isn’t packed yet either, I’m not sure what to put in it. I know that even when it’s packed I’ll repack it over and over again.

@DustyDoorframes we had a boy named picked straight away but really struggled with a girls name. Someone on mumsnet actually suggested a name and that’s ended up being her full nameGrin

Stroan · 14/07/2019 19:09

ecover non-bio for everything, I'm allergic to some washing powders so we stick to that one.

My bags have been packed for ages. I just keep adding chocolate to them! I had all the stuff and packing it means it is tidier. I also think there's every chance of an earlier ELCS so didn't want any panic.

We are pretty much ready. DH needs to adjust the cot height and the bedside crib, and convert the pram back to a carrycot but that's it. Benefit of not needing much for a second baby I think!

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 19:13

boodles what are you looking at birth weight wise?

I'm starting to think i might only pack upto 1 month stuff. Dc1 and 2 just about fit in newborn, 3 fit but was squished, 4 went straight in to upto 1 month.

I havent bought any newborn. I was going to take upto 1 month and 0-3 but i doubt he will need 0-3 he surely isnt going to be THAT big! Although i have bought 0-3 hats as i tend to have babies with large heads

Stroan · 14/07/2019 19:13

@boodles101 I had a similar dilemma with size. DD didn't fit any newborn stuff and this baby is already big, so in theory up to 1 month or 0-3 should be ok. BUT, I might have an earlier ELCS if he's looking too big, so need newborn stuff too.

It's obviously no big deal, but annoying! I hate to think of more wasted newborn stuff.

DustyDoorframes · 14/07/2019 19:15

Both mine went straight into 0-3months. Not twins though!

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 19:15

What weights dusty?

boodles101 · 14/07/2019 19:23

decaf I have no idea what to expect weight wise! Got another scan next Friday, then another at 36 weeks so should be a bit clearer by then. I suppose I can just pack it now and then take some stuff out closer to the time if it will be too small/massive.

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 19:47

I think having no idea would annoy me. Of course i am assuming this baby will follow the pattern of his siblings ....

Megan2018 · 14/07/2019 20:12

I’m hedging it with the bag packing- have got 5 Newborn and 6 up to 1 month in the baby bag, 6 0-3 for the car bag of spares.
Currently tracking on 50th centile and expected to be induced on EDD due to GD, so won’t be late and not measuring big yet.

Hospital is an hour from home and we have no local family to run out for different sizes, so want everything to hand.

All washed in the non bio we use ordinarily which is whatever is cheapest when I do the shopping. I have non bio powder for the cloth nappies, clothes are all in non bio capsules as I can’t use bio on me as flares my eczema and I want to be able to wash baby clothes with adult when needed.
