Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

Hi all,
Can I tentatively join? This would be my 3rd, I'm still at 4+1 and have had miscarriages, last time Easter at 18 weeks. I would be due 15 March.

mangobutter · 09/07/2019 22:56

Welcome and congrats @trixytrix - so sorry to hear of your previous losses, 18 weeks must have been so hard Flowers Hoping for a sticky bean for you!

mangobutter · 09/07/2019 22:59

Don't think this has been pasted for a few pages - newbies feel free to add your stats! I realised I left out due dates, so adding mine in. I can create an editable Google Doc if that's easier for everyone (and it can be posted in the op for any subsequent threads).

@sam2012 sorry to hear you're having a tough time. 💕

@Cornettos welcome and congratulations. I'm using Ovia pregnancy tracker and I really like it 😁

@MunchyMunchkin snap 😁
Size of a peppercorn 🥰

@AwkwardPaws27 aw yeah that makes sense you need to feel able and ready but I'm sure you could have conversations about it as pregnancy isn't a new thing so they might be able to work with you on it. Don't underestimate a bit of experience in other things trust me it goes a long way, those 21 year old graduates will not know a proper (if any) work environment. I'm in a similar position ☺️

@mangobutter glad your bloating is wearing off.
I'm still slightly worrying about cramps and twinges has them on and off all day but very low down if I had to describe I'd say near the entrance down there 🙈
Oh can I steal your energy please I'm trying to study when I get home and keep doing simple things wrong and just want to sleep as soon as it's lunch time 🙈

@trixytrix welcome and congratulations! Sorry about your losses 💕 🤞🏻 this is your sticky one

Pikachu1 · 10/07/2019 08:31

@Abi58

Generally just feeling pukey all morning and tired all afternoon! Have started driving to work (it's only 25 mins walk away!) so I can have a sleep at lunch time, otherwise I nod off in the afternoons! Feel bad moaning though as at least it's all still working atm. How are you feeling?

MunchyMunchkin · 10/07/2019 08:44

@Abi58 I’ve got it on the patisserie comparison. Currently the size of a grain of lavender. Last week it was a grain of salt. Thought it made a change from the fruit and veg one!

sam2012 · 10/07/2019 08:49

Morning all. How is everyone today, I'm ok it's my birthday 41 today eek feeling old lol

MumApr18 · 10/07/2019 08:53

@sam2012 Happy birthday! Not old at all - my DH is 48 and just away to embark on another baby with me! You're only as old as you feel :) We have a big age gap haha.

Anyone else feeling very anxious? My last pregnancy, looking back, I was totally crazy with worry and I'm trying not to do the same this time around. Trying to stay away from early scans etc but I just can't imagine not knowing if the baby is viable until 12 weeks! Wish there was another way we could know.

Ginandgingers92 · 10/07/2019 08:57

Hi ladies, just after some advice really! I'm still POAS 🙄 first pic is a BFP on day of missed period, taken at 1030am, second is this morning, taken at 720am, FMU . It looks weaker to me... I've had mild cramps but nothing bad, no bleeding, but comparatively to last pregnancy, the line was definitely much stronger a few days after missed period. Am I worrying for nothing, or could something have gone wrong? It's way too early to go to Docs, or hospital, so I feel like I'm all in the dark... 😞

Ginandgingers92 · 10/07/2019 08:58

Sorry, pics! First is Sunday, second is today...

Happy birthday @sam2012 !

MumApr18 · 10/07/2019 09:39

@Ginandgingers92 I POAS religiously during my last pregnancy and NEVER got the lovely progressively darker lines I see on other posts - yet now I have a healthy toddler :) I think there are so many variables that the darkness of the line on the stick doesn't mean too much - it's still definitely there!

Lozzlepop · 10/07/2019 09:39

@Rightnow1245 👋🏻thank you so much, we have everything crossed!

@Abi58 thank you 🙂haven't been sick yet just feel super sick a lot of my waking hours 😂but taking it as a good sign! Yes it was lovely being able to surprise him and we both had a little cry!

@Cornettos welcome! I use Glow Nurture and Pregnancy+

@trixytrix sorry to hear about your loss, mine happened at Easter too 💕

@sam2012 happy birthday!!

Abi58 · 10/07/2019 09:53

@Pikachu1 I hope you start to feel better soon! Good you are able to have a nap, do you drive home at lunch? Ok thanks getting waves of nausea but not been sick yet 🤞🏻

@MunchyMunchkin 😲 I didn't know you could do that?!

@sam2012 happy birthday!!!! 🎉

@MumApr18 I'm going to worry either way so decided to have an early scan as at least it will help ease the worry for a little bit ☺️
Worrying is normal 💕

@Ginandgingers92 try not to worry. If it's only a few days there could be several factor affecting it including the amount of dye in the rest. While darker is a good indicator it's not an accurate way to determine what's going on in there. I'm not sure what the drs would do but if you are worried speak to them? 🤞🏻

....anyone noticed any weird smells? Like BO? ...I don't normally smell of sweat not Ben badly after the gym! Got to work and it smells like I've worn my shirt for days on end sweating like a pig it's disgusting I just hope it's my sense of smell and no one else can smell me 😩🙈

MumApr18 · 10/07/2019 10:11

Yes @Abi58! I'm the same! I think pregnancy in general makes you warmer, and more sensitive to smell which is a dangerous combo. I breastfed my first which also doesn't help - I found it was worse after he was born, I was a sweaty mess haha

Ginandgingers92 · 10/07/2019 10:24

@MumApr18 @Abi58, thank you so much xx

Lozzlepop · 10/07/2019 10:27

@Abi58 I am roasting all of the time, I also find that nice smells smell absolutely delicious and not so nice smells make my stomach churn!

sam2012 · 10/07/2019 10:56

Thanks all for the birthday wishes xx

missellajade94 · 10/07/2019 13:04

Just got my first every BFP, been trying for 8 months. I'm very excited but nervous. Cannot wait to tell the other half when he gets home from work!

EMcG3 · 10/07/2019 13:37

Hello! Count me in for 12 March if all goes well. DH and I decided to refer to it as the Ides of March, usually in an ominous tone followed by much giggling.

@AwkwardPaws27 - I really feel for you as you work out what to do with your graduate scheme. When I was 28 I did a Masters degree and the other students were in their early 20s. I actually found my age to be a significant advantage. I was way more organized and consistent in the schedule of my work, more time consistent, able to bring more experience and just better at things like feeding myself. The younger ones might have more stamina than you for all-nighters, but if your organized you will never need to pull one. I understand that will be different if you are also pregnant, but if you are consistent and disciplined, it is an enormous boon. And look at what you need to do in order to pass, then ask yourself if you can pass (as opposed to get great marks).

AwkwardPaws27 · 10/07/2019 13:47

Thanks @EMcG3 - I definitely can't afford to leave my current job to take up the grad scheme now (in addition to not getting any maternity pay, I've just received my first posting details - I'd need to relocate from London to Manchester without DH for a year).
I'd much rather defer for two years, if they'll let me. I know what you mean about doing enough to pass and not being a perfectionist though - something I struggle with!

Rightnow1245 · 10/07/2019 13:55

Abi58 oh yeah Defo post a photo I will too! I know it’s just hormones but I was like this with DS too 😬 I’m feeling all good just wishing the weeks away for my 12weeks scan 😂 How many weeks are you?

mangobutter I’m glad you have good family support i also had to make that decision once when I was 16 but didn’t feel like I could talk to anyway so delt with it on my own and decided I couldn’t carry on with the pregnancy and it was and still is the hardest choice I’ve ever made. So I totally get you 😊

Happy Birthday sam2012 I hope your DH and DC are spoiling you 😊

Cornettos Welcome to the group 😊 I also use Ovia.

mangobutter wow that’s a long old walk! You must be fit 😊 I’m the opposite to you, last time my boobs were killing me and thought I would be in pain feeding DS but all is okay so far 👌

Ginandgingers92 I think that can sometimes happen.. try not to test anymore I know it’s hard but I was driving myself crazy testing too.
If you feel you need to maybe wait a few more days 😊

Abi58 · 10/07/2019 14:06

@Rightnow1245 😂 ok I'll do it later 😂😂😂 I'm 5 + 4 - one week until my private scan☺️ how about you??

@MumApr18 it's lovely isn't it! I'm just hoping no one else can smell me 😂🙈

@Lozzlepop oddly I don't feel warm today I actually feel chilly but I know I'm warm to touch husband keeps calling me a human hot water bottle 😂

@missellajade94 welcome and congratulations!

Pikachu1 · 10/07/2019 14:08

@Abi58
I used to drive home at lunch before when I drove but due to traffic I had to cut through the back roads and I found this was putting my petrol costs right up. So now I'm just napping in the back seat. Feel a bit silly in the staff car park though! Now just come back from lunch and there's a very strange (bad) smell I can't pin down... I hope it's not me!

mangobutter · 10/07/2019 14:54

Booking appointment done! All routine but it's a nice small midwifery team this time so I'll have some continuity of care, very different to last time when I must have seen more than 20 midwives in total. I get home visits this time!!
