Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

I’m definitely getting a belly, however I’m pretty sure it’s food rather than baby! I don’t have any baby stuff at all anymore but I’m not planning on starting to buy stuff until I’m gone 12 weeks, my cousin had a baby back in may so I’m hoping I can borrow/ buy some bits and peices from her, although I haven’t told any family members yet apart from one of my brothers as we speak everyday.

barnyb · 21/07/2019 13:47

@caffeinebuzz sounds like a big clear out is in order! Lol I'm going to have baby in my room for a while. We have a spare room but it's got all our clothes in and that's where we get ready! Lol the two rooms we have are very small x

Kimberlily · 21/07/2019 14:32

@Cocomad I am exactly the same! No satisfying me at all. What you are sounds exactly like a day in my life right now. I'm usually so health conscious too! Living in comfies right now as we are doing up a house but dreading having to get dressed properly. Defo got a fear of turning into Mrs Blobby! Nickname for my 7 week bean is already munchie!

Cocomad · 21/07/2019 14:44

@Kimberlily I’m the same I haven’t even managed a bra today! My boobs are so sore, again not something I remember from last time! In fact unless I have just forgotten them all I barely remember having any symptoms with my dd.

Kimberlily · 21/07/2019 16:08

@Cocomad ouch! I only really feel them sore when trying to get comfy in bed! Quite liking the proportion of them right now as long as the food belly doesn't grow too much in the next couple of weeks.

When is it we should start to show ladies?

BramwellHadThoughtOfEverything · 21/07/2019 19:20

My dd is 19 months and (mostly due to our general disorganisation and not very big house!!) most of her things are still pretty close to hand, so in some ways lots is ready already. But clothes wise although she did have a fair bit of general neutral clothes it will just depend whether this baby turns out to be a boy or girl how much we have already or still have to buy. I think I’ll mostly wait until 12 weeks too, I have a lovely memory of buying a first pack of sleepsuits after our 12 week scan with my daughter and would love to do that again!!

Cocomad · 21/07/2019 19:21

I think I was about 16-17 weeks with my daughter they say you show earlier with following pregnancy’s though. I think I have a slight bump with clothes over it but when I pull my top up I just see a flabby belly! 😂 and I look more bloated at night than in the morning.

caffeinebuzz · 21/07/2019 19:34

@Kimberlily With DD I thought I was showing around 11-12 weeks, but turns out that was just the peak of my bloating! Then I was back to my normal self until almost the 20 week scan. Am fully expecting it to happen much sooner second time round.

Rightnow1245 · 21/07/2019 20:07

RoRosmama What a lovely scan really happy for you 😊

mommato3 I cant even imagine how you are feeling.. I’m feeling very anxious and I haven’t even had the heartache you have had! Got my FX for you x

Sorry to hear a lot of you ladies are struggling with food! Just eat whatever you can! The first trimester is like that for a lot of ladies.. hope you all start to feel better soon 😊

barnyb wow you are organised! I have everything already from DS but will probably what to see what we are having at 20weeks to get the rest! I will only get a few small bits tho!

blondie87 oh no have annoying for you! I was so annoyed with my SIL for giving all her girl clothes to charity I said to her why didn’t you give it to me.. you know we wanted more children.. I was cross with her because i told her I wanted it before 😡

Cocomad I feel the same as you! I can’t remember how long it lasted with DS but I think it’s worse this time 🤔 but they do say you forget which could be the case too!

I was Defo showing very early and people could tell before I was 12weeks so it was hard to keep it a secret! People again guess last night at a family party 😬

So I had my booking in appointment today and it went very well.. it was a long appointment as I had a lot of history to go through but I think they answered all my worries I had.
Also had my bloods taken and my height and weight taken too. I think it all went well and just looking forward to my scan now 😊

barnyb · 21/07/2019 20:32

@BramwellHadThoughtOfEverything ah that's so lucky! All you guys who have baby stuff already are! It's really a to do ! I don't know what I'm doing to be honest! But it's fun looking and getting the odd bit here and there xx

barnyb · 21/07/2019 20:32

@Babamamma hello! Congratulations!! X

MunchyMunchkin · 21/07/2019 20:57

Still fitted in my normal trousers at 20 weeks last time. Although I’m under no illusion that it will be the case this time.

Kimberlily · 21/07/2019 21:01

@MunchyMunchkin @Cocomad It seems everyone is totally different. I hope to keep my tummy flat until at least 14 weeks as have a holiday booked then. The way I am eating it will never be the case! 😳😂

Cocomad · 21/07/2019 21:13

My tummy hasn’t been flat for 7 years 😂

Ithoughtyouwere · 21/07/2019 21:13

Hi all, just checking in when I can, hope you’re all doing well and congratulations to the newbies!

I’ve been feeling sick most of today, can’t eat anything sweet so mostly salty carbs for me - plain hula hoops are a lifesaver. I also munch through Nairn’s ginger biscuits as they’re not as sweet as most, very gingery and handily come in packs of 5. I have them by my bed in case I feel sick in the night as eating is the only thing that makes me feel better (even though it’s the last thing I want when I feel sick 🤢).

I’m hoping DD distracts me from these early weeks and stops me obsessing too much about every little symptom. I don’t want to wish it away but it is a lot easier when everyone knows. I’m hoping I won’t be showing too much before 12 weeks though as it’s so much harder to hide it in the summer. Last time I just looked a bit fat by 12 weeks, but my bump didn’t take long to appear after that!

I must remember to register with the midwife soon - I’m only 5 weeks but need to go to the drs and complete a form so hopefully will find time tomorrow.

Frillyfarmer · 21/07/2019 21:43

I've saved all DS clothes and the many many bits of kit so I'm hoping I've got most things covered already this time round. I'm not buying anything until after I've got the all clear from my 20week scan. I suppose after two losses this year I'm still really head in sand hoping this one sticks and I'm trying desperately to be realistic about all possibilities. Today I've been sick as a dog and generally as @MunchyMunchkin grateful but hateful of morning sickness 😂

GingerRogers84 · 21/07/2019 21:47

Hello! We have a secret Facebook group for us on this thread expecting our babies in March 2020. It's a really nice group where we can all share excitement, worries, cravings etc to our hearts content and not drive people in real life crazy with all the baby talk. Grin
Send me a private message if you fancy joining the group. X

Frillyfarmer · 21/07/2019 22:20

Fab idea @GingerRogers84 - I use my DSs FB group all the time! I'm not going to join until I've seen the outcome of my scan - too early for me just yet!

trixytrix · 21/07/2019 22:29

To everyone but especially @mangobutter for greeting me a few weeks back - Thank you! I was too scared to continue as I had a bleed a few days after but tomorrow is week 6 and I'm gonna go for a scan on Tuesday. My boobs hurt, can't stand curry smell, and feel awful if I don't get food every 3h. Yey!

EMcG3 · 22/07/2019 07:08

Hi ladies! I was trying to figure out how far along I will be at Christmas (hoping to fly to see my family) and could not find an online calculator for this. I could only find calculators that told me how far along I am today. Have I overlooked something obvious in my Googling? DH told me he could build one but it seems crazy that it wouldn't exist already.

EMcG3 · 22/07/2019 07:12

@MunchyMunchkin - I'm impressed you could still fit your trousers at 20 weeks. I haven't changed size at all yet but find anything that has a waste and that rests on my stomach really uncomfortable. Did you find this or were you fine with a waistband?

satsumasaturday · 22/07/2019 07:21

@EMcG3 there are pregnancy apps that count the weeks on the calendar - at Christmas it says I'll be 29 weeks and I'm seven weeks today. I use ovia - it's free to download and tracks the progress of the baby growing - today I upgraded to the size of a raspberry.

I've been very quiet on here but I have been reading all the posts. I've been a combination of busy/sleeping and anxious as the brown spotting I had still hasn't gone away 😡

Sounds like some of you are struggling with symptoms - hope you're doing ok. I've been wiped out the past few days, all I want is sleep. I have my scan this morning so fingers crossed everything is ok.

MunchyMunchkin · 22/07/2019 07:41

@EMcG3 I wasn’t bothered by waist bands (thankfully).

What can be really useful is something called a belly belt. It’s essentiply a piece of elastic with extra button holes and a button so it extends your waistband and you can keep on with your normal clothes. Was a lifesaver at work and those trousers plus a belly belt did me all the way to maternity!
Although I was all bump and nothing else.

GingerRogers84 · 22/07/2019 07:42

@trixytrix I'm like this with food! I feel like I have to constantly eat or I feel sick! 🤢

Kimberlily · 22/07/2019 08:51

@satsumasaturday Good luck with scan this morning 💕

Well I have a midwife apt this morning so put my jeans on and can confirm I have defo gone up a size!
