Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

@Abi58 I know exactly how you feel as I've been getting that, even when lying down! It does make it so difficult to concentrate at work 🙈

I think your scan looks fine! I think it's probably done on a more advanced machine as it looks like quite a clear picture so maybe that's why!

barnyb · 18/07/2019 14:28

Hey guys. I still haven't had a scan yet. I'm having my first scan next Friday. Every website I go on is telling different numbers for how many weeks I am pregnant. My last period start date was 26th may. it was 8th March for due date on all the websites but one says I'm 6.4, one says I'm 7.4 and another says I'm 8.4!!! ?? Whaaaat

Abi58 · 18/07/2019 14:52

@barnyb you calculate the weeks you are simply by how many weeks and days since the start of your last period.
Where the due date can then change is if you ovulated late they will amend it when you have a scan.
Aw no, I've just been trying to nibble but also getting headaches, I feel rubbish and it's driving me nuts lol

@Loti92 sorry for your loss and thank you 💕 it's odd I had a feeling I was going to see more than 1 so I guess it my brain trying to make that into a baby 🙈
It was definitely reassuring for us so I'd recommend it if you feel it would help ☺️

@AuroraMJ sorry you're also feeling rubbish but glad I'm not the only one 💕 it was a hd one saw it on a big tv. Most look like rings with nothing inside, before we went I would have put a bet that it was more than 1 think my brains still trying to make me think that 😂🙈

MunchyMunchkin · 18/07/2019 15:05

@Loti92 if you are going for a scan I’d wait until 8 week as risk drops with a good scan at that point and there is a bit more to see.

I only had an early one as got it done at work. Wouldn’t have paid for one until 8 weeks.

@barnyb your Edd based on period will be 1/3/19 which is 7+4 today.

If you know you have cycles longer than 28 days then you will be due later but scans will be done based on Lmp.

AMos16 · 18/07/2019 15:44

@barnyb

My last period was 28th May, puts me at 7+2/3 and due around 3 march. I guess you are around the same,

My first scan is next tuesday

Rightnow1245 · 18/07/2019 17:21

sam2012 sorry to hear you had to cut your ring off! Hopefully you can get it resized easily 😊

Kimberlily How exciting it’s today 😊 what time is it booked in for? The NHS will do a checks for you at your 12week scan but if you want to pay that’s also okay 😊 I think you can find out the sex of the baby that way too.. you don’t have to wait for the 20week scan or if you go private 16weeks.

AMos16 8 weeks is a really good time to have a scan 👌 I had my scan at 8 weeks with my son and you will be able to see a lot by then.

Abi58 I am the same as you just grazing all day to stop the sickness feeling! How you are feeling today? Try not to worry about how the scan looks hun.. it looks great to me but I know it’s hard not to worry 😊

MunchyMunchkin Good luck for you scan! What time is it?

Pikachu1 Hope you’re feeling better today! Has the antibiotics started to work yet?

How is everyone feeling today?

I’m feeling pretty rough but I’m trying to crack on with it! I have DS keeping me busy 😊
Has anyone gained weight yet? I gained 4 stone in my last pregnancy I was really paranoid about it.. this time I’m going to try and relax a little as the weight came off pretty quickly and I was anxious the whole pregnancy about it.
Have my midwifes appointment on Sunday I will only be 6+4 days does that sound early to everyone? I don’t remember going that early with my son.

Abi58 · 18/07/2019 17:46

@Rightnow1245 I feel so rough today, it's constant nausea and dizziness / room spinning. Had anti sickness tablet and it doesn't seem to have done much today 😭

Aw sorry you're feeling rough too although good if you are being kept busy stop you thinking about it 💕
I haven't weighed myself I'm too scared to, I will if I haven't as I'm grazing so much 🙈
Not worried yet as if I don't graze I'll prob lose weight but it won't be healthy for me or baby.

Wow that is early mine wanted to see me around 8 weeks but I suppose it's mostly questions isn't it so doesn't really matter when

Kimberlily · 18/07/2019 18:03

@Rightnow1245 Had my scan this afternoon and I am over the moon. We are measuring at 7+1 with a strong heart beat. I had totally prepared myself for the worst news.

I am also concerned about putting weight on, I am seriously hungry all the time. So far today I have had 2 oatabix, a protein shake, a kit kat, a slim fast bar, 3 rice cakes, a tangerine, a ramen from Wagamamas and 2 chocolates and for sure I'm not finished. It's the strangest feeling. Nothing is satisfying me and if I try fight the hunger I feel sick! Do you have any tips to keeping slimish?

Kimberlily · 18/07/2019 18:06

Girlies another positive scan pic to share! My husband and I are over the moon. I hope you all experience the feeling I got today when I saw our little bubs heart flicker ❤️ 7+1 due March 4th

@Rightnow1245
I think they might be starting to work a little as my last paracetamols were at 12:30 and although I'm in pain now, it's not the complete agony yet. The sickness is starting to return as I think it was overshadowed by the awfulness of the tooth pain before so also a good sign I hope. I have also fancied the first drink that's not water since Saturday so that's progress I think. Unfortunately it's coke which I know is a bit of a no-no but it's only a 150ml can so is perfectly within safe limits. Am feeling a bit guilty about filling my poor baby up with so many antibiotics and paracetamols but I guess that's just silly as the stress from the pain would probably do more harm as both medications are considered safe for use during pregnancy.

Pikachu1 · 18/07/2019 18:10

@Kimberlily
So happy you got a good scan result. I felt so overwhelmed with happiness and love when I saw my little one's heartbeat. It's the most special feeling!

Rumi1 · 18/07/2019 18:45

@Kimberlily awww brilliant .
So glad that you have positive news.
You've made me feel all excited now for tomorrow

What's your next steps ?have you seen your midwife for a booking in appointment?

Kimberlily · 18/07/2019 18:58

@Rumi1 It was just the loveliest feeling. I'm so glad it's given you excitement. Like I said I had no symptoms like you but strangely I have been feeling v pregnant today! The mind is powerful isn't it?! I hope it goes well for you tomo. Please put your pic up! 🥰

I have a midwife apt on Monday so will find out then what next steps are. They are going to scan me again in 2 weeks time given my previous history which I'm happy about. Feeling positive (and hungry!😂) x

Kimberlily · 18/07/2019 18:59

@Pikachu1 I agree, I couldn't hold the tears! A huge surge of emotions..... mostly happiness and disbelief

Kimberlily · 18/07/2019 19:12

Has anyone had their hair dyed since being pregnant? I am going to get mine done tomo and obvs don't want to tell hairdresser but read it's dangerous! Anyone else heard this?

Ithoughtyouwere · 18/07/2019 19:20

@pikachu1 coke is fine, the only concern is the caffeine and a 330ml can has about 35mg max. The recommended limit is 200mg per day so as long as you’re not a mad tea or coffee drinker there’s no problem.

I speak from experience as in my first pregnancy I regularly had a can of coke a day to keep me going!

RoRosmama · 18/07/2019 19:36

@Kimberlily yay!!! How lovely 😊😊😊 wonderful to see and hear the good news. Mine is Saturday. Nervous but excited too xx

MunchyMunchkin · 18/07/2019 19:57

Great news @Kimberlily
I don’t think there’s much evidence to say that hair dye is dangerous. I found the book ‘expecting better’ really good at answering these questions based on evidence.

Pikachu1 · 18/07/2019 20:00

@Ithoughtyouwere
I think I'm safe as I've totally gone off coffee (I loved it before pregnancy!) - even the smell makes me feel nauseous and at first I switched to decaf tea but then really started to struggle with that too! Tried going back to regular and that was no better! I'm going to give the decaf another go though with different milk, see if that helps! I hope so as I want to eat ginger biscuits to help the sickness but they are too hard with my poorly tooth!

Abi58 oh no poor you! Think you sound a little worse than me.. I’m not at the stage where I need to go to the Doctors about it so I should thank my lucky stars ⭐️ are you still working or are you off sick?
Yeah I don’t blame you! Don’t weigh yourself lol 😂 It makes you feels worse but like you said your body needs it, so It’s important.
Yeah I did think I went around 8 weeks last time but I do have some dodgy blood thing so maybe they want to check it early 🤔

Pikachu1 Try to just rest and hope it gets much better soon! Don’t be hard on yourself you Defo needed to get it sorted so it’s not like you have a choice x

Kimberlily I am so happy for you! It’s such a great feeling isn’t.. have you got your NHS scan yet? I have to wait until the 30th August feels like forever 😢
Also I got my hair highlighted when pregnant with my son and it’s fine! I think it’s an issue for an all over colour but not 100% sure 🤔🤔

Pikachu1 · 18/07/2019 20:22

@Rightnow1245
Thank you, yeah I hope so! Trying not to be too hard on myself, it's very tricky though! X

Bigpea · 18/07/2019 20:41

Hi ladies, I’m 6+4, first baby. Having to wait two and a half weeks just for initial appointment with a GP (it’s finally this Monday), having booked as soon as I did the test. I’m a bit worried this is going to delay getting my scans booked in.

Does anyone else keep feeling like it’s not really real yet? I keep wondering if I have just dreamt it! And worrying about missed miscarriage too... I have done too much googling.

MunchyMunchkin · 18/07/2019 20:45

@bigpea don’t worry it won’t mess up your scan. They have to get it done by 13+6 so will fit you in regardless.
My appointment isn’t till 8+6 by lmp. It’ll be fine.

Kimberlily · 18/07/2019 20:49

@Rightnow1245 @MunchyMunchkin Thank you, I have to get it done no matter what as I'm looking like an old witch! You just read so many stories on line telling you to avoid dying hair, using certain creams on your face, eating certain foods and taking medications and I don't know what's rubbish or what's good advice!
