Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

@helpasisterout we are all here for you to talk to if you need or want to chat!
Can you call in work tomorrow with a sickness bug? That way you can have a few days off instead of just the one? Give yourself some time off and rest. Sending hugs your way. X

Abi58 · 16/07/2019 20:45

@barnyb wow, the lady who did my scan said they used to scan by X-ray!! We are lucky with all they can do now!

@RoRosmama awww thank you lovely 🥰 were so in love already! They did a 10 second video of the heartbeat as well 😍😁 still can't believe it! So excited for yours on sat!!! 💕
Yes so relieved! hahaha I actually thought it was going to be 2 but appears to be just the one which is fine by me ☺️🥰

barnyb · 16/07/2019 20:45

@helpasisterout ok so if it is bad news (I hope not) but basically it's really important to have a scan anyway to make sure everything is gone or going nicely (if that's even the right term). Because if it's not all gone then it can cause infection and also you will need a d&c. So no matter what. Going is the right thing to do!
Yes just call and say you have a sickness bug and you can't come in for the rest of the week!
If it's good news then I'd say a few days off rest would and should be on the cards for you. !
If it's bad news then 100% you will need time to get your bearings on what you've just been through and also your body needs time to rest. All your hormones are all over the place let alone your mental wellbeing. Lol sorry I probably sound very bossy xxxxx

caffeinebuzz · 16/07/2019 20:55

@helpasisterout I'm so sorry to hear that. Like others have said, phone in with an excuse and give yourself the rest of the week off, you'll need time to recover both physically and mentally. Hopefully, since you don't usually take sick days, it won't raise suspicions. Big hugs, take care of yourself Thanks

helpasisterout · 16/07/2019 20:57

@Abi58 @RoRosmama @barnyb thanks so much for your advice the sickness bug is the one I will use.. shows how far my head is up my arse atm that I couldn't even think of that myself 😓

Will let you know how the appointment goes have just treated myself to half a pack of biscoff biscuits and sitting surrounded by the crumbs binge watching love island... chewing gum for the brain!!

Will update tomorrow. Give all your pregnant tummy's a rub from me your all lovely people and deserve it so much! 💗

barnyb · 16/07/2019 20:58

@Abi58 x Ray! Wow that's so dangerous hahah xxx

Ginandgingers92 · 16/07/2019 21:01

@helpasisterout ❤️❤️❤️

Ginandgingers92 · 16/07/2019 21:05

Now, I know second time around you're meant to get bigger quicker, but this is taking the biscuit. 🥺 5 and a half weeks. Not sure how I'm going to keep it hidden!

barnyb · 16/07/2019 21:15

@helpasisterout let us know what happens tomorrow. Xxx

barnyb · 16/07/2019 21:16

@Ginandgingers92 haha the bloat is insane !!! Xxxx

AuroraMJ · 16/07/2019 21:20

Sending you lots of love @helpasisterout ❤️

RoRosmama · 16/07/2019 21:46

@Ginandgingers92 I'm with you girl! I seriously look about 6 months already. With DD I didn't start showing until around 15/16 weeks. I'm only 7 weeks now. Must be a second time round thing 🤷🏼‍♀️

EMcG3 · 16/07/2019 22:07

@Ginandgingers92 I am feeling the same! I don't show as much as you are but my style is really fitted at the waste and my clothes are suddenly VERY uncomfortable. I'm visiting my husband's family so only have with me the things that I packed. Today my SIL's MIL gave me a bunch of clothes she doesn't wear anymore and among the things is a beautiful black heavy jersey dress with no waistband pushing into me! It's surprising to me that I have needed a wardrobe change so quickly!

Kimberlily · 16/07/2019 22:14

@helpasisterout will be thinking of you tomorrow. Please let us know how you get on 😘

Frillyfarmer · 16/07/2019 22:23

@helpasisterout I hope it's good news tomorrow but please look after yourself and do not worry about work this week xxx

@Ginandgingers92 I'm feeling the same. 7weeks today and I look about 5 months 😂 hopefully the bloat steadies itself soon before anyone notices!

Pikachu1 · 17/07/2019 07:46

@helpasisterout

I'm so sorry you've had bleeding, I've got my fingers crossed for your scan today

Pikachu1 · 17/07/2019 07:49

Has anyone else got any symptoms they weren't expecting? I've had nausea, sore boobs, tiredness. I expected those. The crippling pain from my wisdom tooth on the bottom left is not something I expected though. It hurts the entire side of my face and radiates up to my ear. After holding off for as long as possible, I finally gave in and very reluctantly took some paracetamol. I only took one at first which took the edge off a little but not much, half an hour later I caved and took a second one. This was enough to dull the pain into the background. The relief was amazing but only lasted about 3 hours. After 4 hours had passed I took one more. Barely any relief this time so an hour later I took one more. Barely any relief. I've had short naps but other than that haven't slept for the last two nights. I phoned the dentist yesterday explaining that I'm pregnant and can't eat or sleep and they said the earliest appointment was today at 11:20. So naturally it feels like forever. The pain is so bad I'm nearly constantly crying. Apparently it's quite common though according to google as the raised hormones can make wisdom teeth push through more. My gum back there is super puffy and red. I'm so worried the dentist will want to do treatment that's dangerous for baby but at the same time I can't live with this level of pain. Obviously I will be asking the dentist for advice later today but has anyone else had anything similar? Any safe remedies?

On a different note, me and my partner had sex on Saturday morning (tmi?!) and after that I got watery brown discharge. Over the next two days this turned to brown stained cervical mucus. I phoned my GP on Monday morning and they sent me up to the epau that day. I was very nervous after last time I was there ended up being a mc. We saw baby though who measured roughly the right size and we saw the heartbeat too which was lovely! 😍😍😍

barnyb · 17/07/2019 08:02

@Pikachu1 hello honey I'm a dental nurse and iv never heard that pregnancy can cause this. Maybe I'm wrong?? ... anyway sounds like it's infected back there because the tooth is pushing on the gum. I'm sure you probably do but it's really important to clean really well around that area because food can get trapped and cause something like what you have going on now. I expect it's too sore to brush? I'd suggest some warm salt rinses. Nice and warm. Not too hot to burn you but the warmer the better. also if you can. Very gently brush the gum. it's really important it's clean back there. I don't know what the dentist will suggest as you are pregnant. But don't be afraid to take paracetamol like you normally would. 2 every 4 hours. It's safe with pregnancy xxxxx

barnyb · 17/07/2019 08:12

@Pikachu1 I know pregnancy can cause gingivitis which is swelling on the gums and you are more prone to bleeding when brushing but that would be generalised in the mouth. Not just 1 area really.
Do you have swelling in other areas on the mouth too?
Also other pregnant 🤰 ladies, just a tip on dental hygiene during pregnancy. make sure you all floss and use interdental brushes at least once a day. Because like I said it can get a bit gross due to the hormones. There is a saying "with every pregnancy you lose 1 tooth."
I don't know if that is actually true ! I HOPE NOT 😂🤓🦷

latkins70 · 17/07/2019 08:15

Hi ladies, after some advice please.

I'm currently 5+4 with my first baby. Last night I had such strong sharp pains in my stomach that they woke me up at 1am.

The pain eased a bit after I went to the loo however I've woken up this morning with a constantly dull ache in my stomach and lower back.

Ive had 2 chemical pregnancies since last November and this doesn't feel like that however I've no idea what's 'normal' pain and what's not.

Do you think I should call my dr or will they just think I'm being dramatic? Not sure if I'm just overthinking everything?

MunchyMunchkin · 17/07/2019 08:23

@latkins70 best to be seen if it’s a pain that was bad enough to wake you from sleep. Gp can refer you to early pregnancy unit.

Don’t forget you get free dental care in pregnancy and until baby is 1!
@pikachu1 you may just need some antibiotics. The common ones used in dentistry are amoxicillin and metronidazole both of which are fine in pregnancy. Take paracetamol if you need it, tooth pain is miserable.

latkins70 · 17/07/2019 08:33

@MunchyMunchkin thank you, I'll call them to get an appointment, just to be sure. Appreciate the advice.

Pikachu1 · 17/07/2019 08:38

Thank you everyone for your advice. I just hope it eases soon!

Rightnow1245 · 17/07/2019 08:46

helpasisterout I’m really sorry to hear that.. Let us know how you get on at your scan today! I’ll be thinking of you and got my fingers crossed 😊 x

barnyb it’s very upsetting to hear and feel for all you ladies who have gone through this! It’s a curl world X

Abi58 Very pleased for you ❤️ How exciting 😊

Ginandgingers92 I am also the same I’m not sure how I’m going to keep it hidden! If people ask I will tell them!!! I have already told my close family and friends anyway 😊

Pikachu1 I have had pain in my teeth and gums in both pregnancies! I spoke to the dentist about it last time and he said it was totally normal for our teeth and gums to be extra sensitive 😊
