Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

Hi all. Been tentatively reading for a few weeks now. I'm now 6 +5 and found out and 4 +3. @Bacchant if it's any ease I feel exactly the same. Every single symptom you mentioned I have too. It's nice to hear that A&E seemed to think it's all normal signs.

No morning sickness but lots of thirst, tiredness comes and goes, short sharp pains in abdomen mostly on one side and super sore boobs. Oh and the bloat!
Trying to stay positive and not obsess but it's our first and we don't want to get too excited until we know it's all good. Feel like I'm going to be holding my breathe til March.
Not booked in for an early scan but just had appointments through from hospital and scan is exactly week 12 and meeting maternity staff at 8 weeks, starting to wonder whether I should have early scan.

mangobutter · 15/07/2019 16:45

My work are fortunately very flexible so I can work from home, book medical time off within reason etc without having to give any reasons yet. I luckily had a day off when I had my booking appt. I've booked medical time for my scan in August and will work from home around it. What's going to be harder is getting through the crappy first trimester without moaning!!

One thing that's really ramped up today: my boobs are killing me Confused It's been hurting to feed DS for the last week but now I'm in pain all day too. Hoping this one passes soon!

mangobutter · 15/07/2019 16:47

Congrats and welcome @joanne54321!

I didn't have an early scan first time round and only got one this time because we weren't sure whether we were continuing with the pregnancy or not. It seems much more common now than it did a few years ago! If it helps I wouldn't be considering one at all unless I had any worrying symptoms but of course if you can afford it (or if you're worried about your symptoms and can get referred) then go for it!

Abi58 · 15/07/2019 16:55

@Bacchant confusion isn't great but sounds like they don't think it's anything to worry about which is great news and hopefully they'll take a look at you anyway and give you peace of mind ☺️

@AuroraMJ let us know how you get on! I'm sure everything is fine ☺️

Great you already have an excuse for apps though! I'm trying to sneak mine in without telling them I'm preggers or them thinking I'm interviewing 🙈

@joanne54321 welcome and congratulations. Early scannis completely up to you, not as much tosee but if seeing it makes it more real it puts you mind at ease then in my opinion it's worth it, I'm doing for both those reasons and reassurance before we tell parents (had an early miscarriage last month so on edge)

@mangobutter great you have lots of flexibility!

Hope your boobs are less sore soon! I was sick for the first time this morning so hoping that doesn't ramp up not sure I could hide running to be sick 🙈

mommato3 · 15/07/2019 17:14

Argh.... why is it such a worrying time!!!! Boobs were just as sore this morning yet this afternoon it seems to have eased quite a bit.... although I'm absolutely knackered!!!!! Worrying now that something is gonna go wrong with boob soreness reducing..... anyone else??? I really want this to be a sticky bean....

Roisin86 · 15/07/2019 17:38

@mommato3
Yes I'm constantly checking my boobs and very worried when they feel less firm and sore. It's silly even after a healthy scan I still check for signs. It's hard though as I remember waking up on the morning of my second miscarriage and my boobs were totally back to normal size and not sore at all so obviously in that instance my worries were correct :( wish I could stop groping myself all day long though!

Roisin86 · 15/07/2019 17:40

@Abi58
Hey! No they didn't give me one!! Should have asked but I guess it really was just a wee blob 😄
Think I was just so relieved there was a heartbeat I didn't even think to ask!
In two weeks they'll scan again so will def ask then.
I'm 7+2 measured at 7 weeks but that's normal to be plus or minus a week he said. How about you? Have you had previous losses? X

Abi58 · 15/07/2019 17:52

@mommato3 you're definitely not the only one

@Roisin86 aw glad it went well ☺️ I had an early miscarriage last month but not too far (was devastating for us but many have been through much worse) this is a private scan just for our reassurance before telling our parents

Kimberlily · 15/07/2019 18:04

@mommato3 I am the same! What your feeling is definitely normal! Fingers crossed for sticky beans for us all! 🤞🏽❤️

Kimberlily · 15/07/2019 18:11

@Abi58 @AuroraMJ good luck girls with your scans tomo. Keep us posted 🥰

mommato3 · 15/07/2019 18:13

Thank you ladies. It's so bloody worrying isn't it!!! I even poas just to make sure 🤦‍♀️ How terrible is that 🤷‍♀️

Kimberlily · 15/07/2019 18:54

@mommato3 what's poas??? 😂 I'm not quite down with Mumsnet chat lingo. Just realised what DH, DS and DD stand for! 😂

barnyb · 15/07/2019 19:01

@Roisin86 my boobs went back to normal straight away and I knew just new it was not good too. I'm constantly waking up in the night going to the loo grabbing my boobs to have a feel. I notice they are more firm in the night xxxx

barnyb · 15/07/2019 19:02

Hey @Roisin86 just ready your 7 wks. Great news! When is your due date? X

Roisin86 · 15/07/2019 19:14

@barnyb
Yes night time they feel more full! The other night I didn't wake up for a wee and that worried me too!!
I'm due 1st March, same due date as my 6 year old daughter! Although she waited until 7th to be born :)

helpasisterout · 15/07/2019 19:24

Really good reading everyone's different symptoms to compare with! My boobs are agonising today and for the last 3 days my appetite has been wild! Previously lost over 5 stones with slimming world and have been keeping it off so I feel really stressed about this.. any tips for keeping the weight off in pregnancy? It's really important to me!

Rightnow1245 · 15/07/2019 19:35

Hello to all the new comers it’s getting busy on here now 😊😊

Ginandgingers92 Yeah and she told me if the pain continues then I should go to A&e or back to her for a Referral for an early scan! To be honest I haven’t had any more aches or pains so I will wait for my 12 week scan now!

Is anyone else not getting an early scan? I feel like I’m the only one not getting it 🤔

Very exciting for everyone who is having a scan soon! You’ll have to upload some photos so I can try and convince DH to get one 😬

I got my 12week appointment through today for 21st August but I would of only been 10.4 weeks.. so I have changed it for 30th when I will be 12.1 weeks.. I know most of you will think I’m crazy for changing it!! I now have to wait 9 days more but they can’t do all th checks until 11 weeks 2 days so I would have to come back anyway... I can’t keep taking time off work as I’m self employed so just need to be sensible and wait until the 30th.

How is everyone feeling? Im still so tired all the time and napping lots when I can.. I have nausea but no sickness... I didn’t get sickness with DS either.

Who will be finding out the sex? We will Defo find out I’m to inpatient hahaha

barnyb · 15/07/2019 19:42

@Roisin86 have you since had a nice of getting up all night long ?? since the night you didn't ?
It truly is a worrying time for us all. That's so fab that it's the same day ! How strange is that!! It's going to be an expensive time for presents in the future ! My two brothers are born 11th and 12th aug. Poor mum 🤩

barnyb · 15/07/2019 19:46

@Rightnow1245 hello! I was going to wait for my 12 weeks scan as iv had early scans in the past and I lost those babies so in the end I thought ah well the scans didn't change anything. HOWEVER iv got one now booked in for next Friday. I should be roughly 7/8 weeks. I had a missed m.c once and I was walking around for two whole weeks thinking I was pregnant still and my baby had stopped growing two weeks prior to my scan. I had all my symptoms still and I was just so shocked.!! That really messed with my mind for a while so I would rather know ASAP then wait until 12 weeks etc. Xxx

Kimberlily · 15/07/2019 19:58

@helpasisterout I have bought weight watcher bars which are only 95 calories for those moments when I am desperate. I am sitting on the couch right now after dinner and still hungry......Thinking of making a protein shake to try fill me up. I had toast and honey last night after Love Island which I never do. I'm determined not to let that become a habit. Any one else with tips?

Roisin86 · 15/07/2019 20:24

@barnyb
Yes was up last night again! I was so worried Saturday as I had no nausea but again, that returned the next day! So thankful they want to continue with early check up scans since my previous three losses. Research proves that women who have continued support and check ups have a better pregnancy outcome (the consultant said this to me today too!) I was happy as many can't be bothered. I'm also on progesterone, 5mg folic acid and 75mg aspirin. Xx

InventedthePostIt · 15/07/2019 21:14

I'll join please. Think I'm 4 plus 3 so only early. Second child have one DD who is 2 in August. Starting to feel tired I'm asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow at the minute. Also got really bad bloating. I'm really struggling for things to wear it's so bad and have had to take my wedding ring off.

barnyb · 15/07/2019 21:20

@Roisin86 ok thats great you have lots of support ! I haven't seen my midwife yet but I will also be consultant lead once I finally get the date with the midwife! Seems to be taking a while to get a date!! I know how you feel. Iv had really bad nausea for the last week and now tonight it's subsided.?? All of a sudden? I'm not complaining because it's horrible but also why has it gone??? Xxxx

GingerRogers84 · 15/07/2019 21:39

@InventedthePostIt Love your user name! 😂

satsumasaturday · 15/07/2019 21:52

Hi @mrslaurenbrown how are you doing? I'm still spotting 😭 it stayed light until this afternoon when it got slightly heavier, still brown though. I just want it to go away so that going for a wee isn't such a traumatic experience! Did you have your scan on Saturday?
