Tentatively starting this as got a surprise bfp today, due date will be 29 Feb-2 March I think. Currently in shock and not even sure if we can go ahead but I hope we can as the news has made me happy, if scared!

Anyone else?

@Bacchant hello ! Try not to panic because a few ladies on here have had similar and have been ok. Obviously we don't know what's going on. But i had a miscarriage last year and when I started bleeding the lady at the early pregnancy unit told me to use a pad. If the pad fills up within an hour then it's not good news. Also you should maybe call your early pregnancy unit if you can for some advice. Also when I called them they gave me an early scan to check over everything. So worth a try! Xxxxxxx

Roisin86 · 14/07/2019 17:25

@Bacchant
Hey hello and welcome :)
I would really advise you to ring your early pregnancy unit first thing tomorrow for an earlier scan. I had spotting for a week, and because google said it was fine I ignored it. the midwife at my 8 week appointment was alarmed when I told her and booked me in. I had unfortunately miscarried. Of course these things can be normal and a part of early pregnancy, even bleeding is normal for some women. But in my opinion ghetto won't hesitate to book you in and put you at ease. Xxx

mommato3 · 14/07/2019 17:49

@GingerRogers84 My energy levels haven't been too bad recently but the exhaustion seems to have hit today. I'm already exhausted and have been for the last hour. Worst thing is I have to drive home soon - a 90 minute journey 🤦‍♀️
Is it bedtime yet!?? 😂

Bacchant · 14/07/2019 19:46

So I’m not actually sure if it was/is spotting or not, as I went to show my DH (he’s a doctor so not easily grossed out) in the daylight I couldn’t actually see any red (Our bathroom is internal with no windows). In the light there was barely anything at all!! I’m very much a worrier by nature - this is gonna be a long 9 months I think.

Unfortunately where I live I’d need to go to a&e to get to the epu. My GP has no midwife (my booking in appt is at a children’s centre which does weekly midwife sessions). I’ve got a scan next week so hopefully that’ll all be okay!

MunchyMunchkin · 14/07/2019 20:35

@satsumasaturday they should date from the miscarriage. It’s means you’ll get scanned earlier so not a problem.
Mine will be the same as had MC 24th May but didn’t ovulate till 15/16th June.

MrsS88 · 14/07/2019 20:47

Good evening ladies. New to this forum as didn’t know about it. I’m 30 from Berkshire and due baby number 3 in March 4th. Very excited to share this journey with you all. I’m on a Facebook group for UK mums and one of the members mentioned some of you ladies with official bfp’s Wanting to join. If you would like to you can send me a message and I can send you the link to the group as for now we are keeping the group well hidden as other mums to be are nervous about others finding them on it. Xx

How is everyone?

Today I have actually been sick for the first time instead of just nauseous 🤢😩

Bacchant · 15/07/2019 09:40

Morning @Abi58 sorry to here you’ve been sick! Did the nausea ease off after you were?

After some umming and ahhing I decided to go to a&e this morning to see if I could get an early scan, as I’ve just not been able to calm down! I’m just waiting to be seen so hopefully will be good news!

sam2012 · 15/07/2019 09:40

@Abi58 oh no poor you, it's awful but also it's a bit better than actual feeling sick, I was really unwell over the weekend, went to bed left hubby to it. Hope you feel better soon x

Abi58 · 15/07/2019 09:51

@Bacchant it did and still feel dizzy and a bit nauseous but it's not as bad as it was before 🤞🏻

Aw sending you hugs! Do you have any pain? Spotting is very common so try not to worry. Have you had to wait long? I'm a worrier too 💕

@sam2012 thank you! I hate being sick but that nausea eased a bit after but still feeling dizzy. Aw bless you I hope you're feeling better soon!

Ginandgingers92 · 15/07/2019 11:42

Morning all, with the exception of very intermittent mild cramps, I've got no symptoms whatsoever 😩

Kimberlily · 15/07/2019 12:32

@Ginandgingers92 I am the exact same. I went a walk with a friend this morning and she said she had no symptoms with her little baby boy up till 9 weeks and then constant until the birth. My cramps have subsided and the only symptoms I have are tender boobs and hungry more often! I am trying not to worry but won't really be able to relax until my scan next week. Still worrying me that they could only see a gestational sack at my 6 week scan

Em6826 · 15/07/2019 12:32

@Abi58 oh no! Hope it has eased up.

I'm still just heavily nauseous, but now about to go on a work trip with a colleague who I really do not want to tip off Confused. I wish I had seeded the idea of some kind of health kick earlier...

Also made a drs appointment for next week to get the ball rolling!

Abi58 · 15/07/2019 12:54

@Ginandgingers92 although symptoms can ease the worry try to enjoy not having then for as long as possible 🙈 you might be one of the lucky ones who doesn't really get any ☺️

@Kimberlily what day is your scan? 🤞🏻 for you

@Em6826 thank you 💕 me too! Not been sick again but still feeling nauseous and dizzy. Hope it sticks to once in the morning and doesn't progress to more 😂🤞🏻

Ah no how long is the trip? Will you be together a lot? 🤞🏻
That's exciting! Do you have to go dr to get a midwife app?

mangobutter · 15/07/2019 13:52

@Bacchant hope everything was okay, sending hugs.

Sorry I can't keep up with the chat very well! I'm 7+2 now. Haven't had many symptoms but yesterday I was super tired in the morning and had a nap which is very unlike me (DH gets all the lie-ins 😉). Today I struggled a bit more than usual with my walk to work and have been feeling a bit off - just had lunch which I had to force down and now feeling a bit faint. I think small, frequent meals is the key if I remember rightly from last time!

sam2012 · 15/07/2019 14:48

Hi so how does the process work, do I phone the doc for them to refer to midwife? Sorry it's been a while x

Roisin86 · 15/07/2019 14:54

@Bacchant
Hey hope you got on ok at the hospital?

I had my early scan today and all healthy! Seen the tiny heartbeat! Was a relief leaving the hospital with good news for once, after the past 8 months we've had of just heartache.

barnyb · 15/07/2019 14:58

Hey everyone. So how many people have had scans already? did you see much? I'm having my first scan next Friday. Hopefully il see what I'm hoping for. I think I'm 6 weeks now so will be nearly 8 weeks when I go x

AuroraMJ · 15/07/2019 15:14

@barnyb I had one last week at 5w+5 and they saw the gestational sac and a flicker which might have been the yolk sac. Just looked like a little bean but was still lovely to see!

Have another scan tomorrow as the EPAU want to make sure we can see the yolk sac this time so will let you know what I see.

Em6826 · 15/07/2019 15:40

@Abi58 now until Friday morning, away from home, working together all day and would definitely normally have a beer or two in the evening. Tricky!

and about seeing the doctor, @sam2012 I am clueless, but I called my GP and asked who I needed to see and they said the dr, so I guess they then do a referral? I did look for midwife details but found the information online totally confusing.

So excited for everyone having scans. Must. Be. Patient.

caffeinebuzz · 15/07/2019 16:02

@Em6826 I'll be in this position on a work trip next week, so look forward to any tips you bring back! It's so much harder one-to-one than in big groups.

@sam2012 In my surgery you see the doctor first, and they refer you to the community midwife. But it varies by area, so best to call your local GP and ask them.

Survived the weekend with the in-laws, but the sickness has turned up a notch today Sad

Kimberlily · 15/07/2019 16:02

@Abi58 Thank you, my scan is 22nd Mon. 🤞🏽😌
Will keep you all posted! Great to hear some ladies have had positive scans! ❤️ It keeps us all hopeful x

Abi58 · 15/07/2019 16:07

@mangobutter I'm with you on the trying to eat little and often just hope I don't gain loads of weight I'm literally grazing all day.

@Bacchant how did you get on?

@sam2012 I think every area is different. Mine didn't need me to see a dr just called the surgery and booked an app in with the midwife. Call your dr and tell them you are pregnant and ask how you get an app with the midwife and they should be able to tell you.

@Roisin86 that's lovely! Congratulations!! How far are you? Did you get a pic? I've got mine tomorrow 🤞🏻☺️

@barnyb I'm having mine tomorrow but if you want to see for 8 weeks google it there's loads of pics about of others ☺️

@AuroraMJ good luck tomorrow what time is yours?

@Em6826 ah so a good few days. If you go to the bar can you order something that looks like alcohol but isn't maybe?

Bacchant · 15/07/2019 16:25

I was waiting just over 2 hours to see someone (actually a really quick turnaround for our a&e). They couldn’t fit me in today, so I’m going in for a scan at the Epu tomorrow morning. The nurse didn’t seem too concerned (she actually said she wasn’t sure the epu would see me as it sounded all normal). Amusingly she said I could have gone to my GP for an epu referral, but my GP said they couldn’t do referrals id have to go to a&e?? I work for the nhs and love it, but honestly I wish there was a bit less confusion!

@AuroraMJ ooo what time is your scan? Mines nice and early at 9!

@Em6826 can you go with the ol antibiotics excuse? Or have you been on a work trip with them before? As I know some folks who don’t drink at all on work trips - you could say it’s something you’re trying out??

@sam2012 my GP has no midwifes so I had to call a children’s centre who have weekly sessions with midwifes dropping by. I think it can vary a lot by area!

@Roisin86 that is such great news that the scan went well!

@mangobutter I’m finding the small frequent meals is the best way forward. My appetite has vanished so I’ve got a lot of easy to eat healthy snacks. As I know I have to eat but nothing is taking my fancy!

AuroraMJ · 15/07/2019 16:31

@Bacchant @Abi58 Thanks! Mine's at 8:45am so hopefully one of the first of the day 🤞🏻 Hope all is well as have got to go straight to work after!

How are people handling work at the moment? I was having appointments for my Endo prior to getting pregnant so have had to carry on using that as an excuse for now 🙈
