@TwittleBee TOMMethod tell me more?

My cleaner was an angel, I'd have gladly swapped dh for her if she'd have had me!!

Megan2018 · 13/06/2019 16:38

I don’t believe it, teeth are fine!!
All those weeks and weeks of not being able to brush and there is no damage done. Massive phew!
Grin

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 17:59

Thanks all! I’m 28+3, due on 2nd September with a boy 💙 we already have a 3 year old DS who is ridiculously cheeky & bossy. Not sure how he will cope with another baby. I currently work part time but my job situation after maternity leave is unclear (I’m a contractor) so May end up being a SAHM at least for a while. Will have to wait & see (this is not easy for me!)

BBell2 · 13/06/2019 18:03

I dont iron either! Anything that requires ironing just doesn't get worn. Dh does - Jean's, t-shirts all his work uniform which is plentifully. Dd has a couple of dresses which need it so I sneak them into the pile.

When I had DD, DH was horrified I wasnt ironing her clothes...so I did her hospital outfit...and nothing again. Ever.

excitednerves · 13/06/2019 18:05

Hey @happytobemrsg you’re due the day before me! Exciting times. Although it’s my first baby.

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 18:18

Hi @excitednerves! It’s such an awkward month to be due - are you hoping for an early or late baby?? All babies in my family were either early or exactly on their due date. DS was born in late June, 38 +2

excitednerves · 13/06/2019 18:29

@happytobemrsg Everyone keeps saying “ooooh oldest in the school year” and it’s driving me mad. If baby’s 4 days early, they’ll be the youngest!

Kind of hoping for around due date, maybe a bit before. I’m going on mat leave at 36 weeks so I don’t really want to be sitting around waiting if I go all the way to 42!

Whisky2014 · 13/06/2019 18:47

Argh I know I asked this before but what's the oldest/youngest school thing?
I'm due 28th aug

April88 · 13/06/2019 18:51

1st September they’ll be the oldest (unless you’re in Scotland). Earlier than that will be the youngest in the year

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 19:04

Im due 5th Sept

My four have all been born within the two weeks before due date, never been pregnant on my due date.

Ideally i would like atleast a week early. I had initially wanted a sept baby not august but with 3 dc going back to school in the first week of sept i would now like the birth out of the way!

My dc who is technically summer born although not august is my highest achieving dc at school, it definitely hasn't held him back at all

Fortheloveofscience · 13/06/2019 19:14

Found you all! Thought it’d been quiet today.

Whisky I think it also might depend on area. My friend who works in school admissions said that for our LA the cut-off is something like 26 August. I’m 19 September so hopefully don’t have to worry, but am aiming for a due date baby because 19.9.19 is a lovely DOB!

boodles101 · 13/06/2019 19:27

fortheloveofscience 19.9.19 was my original due date and I was amazed cos my DS DOB is 17.1.17! But absolutely no way that's gonna happen now!

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 19:39

I put DS in preschool from 2 so he’s had an extra year - I’m hoping that’ll put him in good stead. But I was a summer baby & ive always done well academically so I’m not too worried. I remember how fed up & fat I got towards the end last time so another around 38w would suit me!

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 20:03

I am determined to keep on my feet from 37 week onwards try and encourage this baby to be a) not back to back and b) come out before the dc go back to school. That is of course if baby actually moves from transverse Hmm

TwittleBee · 13/06/2019 20:12

@kyles101 if you google you'll find the TOMM blog, tbh it isnt anything revolutionary and is pretty much what I was doing anyway (cleaning little and often) but with this method printed out it means DH knows what needs doing on what day too.

@excitednerves same here! everyone keeps saying how great it will be to have an older child in the year group but they can so easily end up being the youngest! My colleagues at work have actually either deferred or are applying to defer their August children too so that makes me really freak out!

@Fortheloveofscience that was my original DD too! But now 17.09.19 and with DS coming at 37 weeks I am kinda expecting an August baby. (DS was 06.07.17 - only hours off 07.07.17!!)

@happytobemrsg hahah I was the same! the weight really piled on at the end - then again, I think that might have been because i just sat around eating cake during my mat leave...

Megan2018 · 13/06/2019 20:19

I really don’t want an Aug baby, as much harder to get Summer holiday care if they are under 5 around here.
Although Sept baby means extra year at nursery, at least they are nearly 6 when the first long holiday comes around!

TwittleBee · 13/06/2019 20:22

August baby wouldn't be bad for us financially as means he will be 3 in the September ready for the free childcare, if born in September he will need to wait till January before getting it.

But it just worries me educationally.

boodles101 · 13/06/2019 20:28

I also wanted September baby, oldest of the school year. But I've come to terms with it now that as long as both babies arrive here safely then August is fine, just hopefully not too early. Also 1 year less of paying for nursery. You can always defer them a year if they are not ready.

happydays00 · 13/06/2019 20:31

Zero ironing done here, I despise it! Sometimes I look at DDs clothes and think they could do with an iron but I simply cannot be bothered!

We have a cleaner once a week - I didn't have her last time on mat leave but would rather make cutbacks elsewhere and keep her this time! I'm really not good at the domestic stuff it would seem!!

@happytobemrsg - welcome. How are you feeling??

@IVEgottheDECAF - my baby is also lying transverse and I'm finding it quite uncomfortable. My ribs on the right hand side feel like they're getting a right pummelling.

I'm due 8th Sept and swing between not caring if it's an August baby and between hoping he stays out until 1st September. I felt like time had slowed to a standstill recently but gladly speeding up again and I feel like 30 weeks is another big milestone. Yet another scan for me next Monday - fingers firmly crossed for reduced , or at least, maintained fluid levels!

Stroan · 13/06/2019 20:35

Love the TOMM blog. Haven't stick to it religiously since being pregnant but I love that it's little and often but my house gets cleaner.

@Whisky2014 you are in Scotland right? August babies aren't a worry here, they'll be 5 or very close to 5 when they start school in August, plus our intake starts in March so the youngest kids are at least 4.5. it's Jan/Feb babies everyone worries about here - all my friends have deferred theirs.

Whisky2014 · 13/06/2019 21:34

Ah ok. Yeh scotland so not a worry then.
God my brain is mush

Stroan · 13/06/2019 21:38

Get used to that, it doesn't go away anytime soon!

happytobemrsg · 14/06/2019 07:34

Hi @happydays00!! I’m feeling ok. DH is amazing & gets up with DS every morning so I get a lie in. Makes such a difference as I’m someone who really doesn’t function well without sleep. I’m finding work tough now though, especially the afternoons. I have quite a small bump really, but by 3pm it just feels so heavy & I find it hard to walk. But given that my work situation is so unclear after maternity leave I feel like I should keep working as long as I can now

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/06/2019 11:57

Quiet on here today!

I had a busy morning, walked quite far and got awful fanny daggers Sad

Picked up couple of baby bits just bibs, dummies, 3-6 sleepsuits that were on sale

Megan2018 · 14/06/2019 12:01

I had a hideous night- kept waking up with a mouthful of stomach acid 🤢 and having to rush to bathroom. Absolutely vile. Ranitidine and Gaviscon didn’t help at all.
I preferred it when baby was breech! Now she has moved my stomach is very unhappy.
