Woo boodles that's pretty good!

I do have another 11 days annual leave I could take but I want to carry them over to next year and tag onto end of maternity. I'll also have 34 days annual leave for next year. I want a week off in October and 2 weeks at Christmas but even using 15 days for that, I'll still 29 days left to use after maternity is finished. So prob won't be going back until 20th Sept ish.
Fuck. Yeh!
I am so distracted from work now, I just don't care about it. Which I know is a bad mentality but it's the truth.

This morning bybwas.going crazy inside. I got my husband to feel and his eyes almost popped out his head in so much shock how much movement there was and how strong the kicks were! He put his head to my tummy and got a good in his temple haha

Think we are going to IKEA today to get a cot bed. I read online they have am in store sale on so fingers crossed the bed I want is in it! I've never been before so I'm looking forward to it.

happytobemrsg · 15/06/2019 11:38

@Stroan I worked full time first time around too. I’m shattered doing 3 days a week now. Although hard with a 3 year old DS, I lie down as much as possible on my days off.

Think I’ve got about 20 days left at work? I finish 31st July.

Got DS’s birthday party next weekend then will be counting down the days until DH & I go on a little weekend getaway - 3 nights in a swanky hotel in Brighton. Can’t wait!

happytobemrsg · 15/06/2019 11:39

Off to John Lewis today to buy a new buggy - the old icandy was too heavy & bully albeit very comfy for DS. DH was given £500 vouchers when he left his job so will be using them up!

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 12:24

Ooooh wish someone would give me £500 vouchers! Jealous of pram shopping! Do you have an idea what you would like?

BBell2 · 15/06/2019 14:07

SAME, @BridgetJonesDaiquiri ! Will be heading to Spain in 2 hours. DH has driven me mad with his last minute over packing. Why would anyone need 9 tshirts, 3 vests, shirts and multiple gym tshirts for 9 nights! He often refers to all the baby crap you need for travel and its its largely him! I've not a lot - not a lot fits comfortably!

DustyDoorframes · 15/06/2019 14:22

This is just a quick wave to show I'm still here- I've been barely keeping up with the thread, super busy patch at work, kids birthdays, etc...
At work we are all in denial that I'm going to be off- no way am I totting up days that would be terrifying!! Too much to dooooooo!!!!
Haha decaf you are a pram hound!

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 14:38

I am. Once i have bought one all will be well in the world

TwittleBee · 15/06/2019 15:39

Have a brilliant spending spree @happytobemrsg

I have well and truly over done it today and it's not even 4pm yet... took DS to his toddler rugby session this morning which was like a 45 minute work out. Then marched him round town for an hour in his buggy to frantically get him to nap. (Needed him to nap before the family picnic at a local festival for my Dads birthday). Then spent the whole time at the festival chasing DS about and didn't get a second to myself to even sit down and have a cuppa. Meant to be going out tonight but feel knackered.

DustyDoorframes · 15/06/2019 16:25

Twittle that is a lot!!! I went to yoga, ran some errands, then needed a sit down while I was doing the washing up...

Tefiti2 · 15/06/2019 17:00

@ivegotthedecaf we need a pram debrief when you eventually buy one haha!

I have eight shifts left at work - finishing up at 34 weeks as in a physically demanding job doing 13hr shifts... how am I going to keep the last 6 weeks from dragging?!

TheCraicDealer · 15/06/2019 17:26

DH is the same @BBell2- when we were packing for a week in France he'd put in five pairs of chino shorts even thought the weather was to be rainy for 4/7 days and he always travels in trousers I made him take two pairs out, as well as two pairs of shoes and a few smartish shirts. And he still didn't wear it all!!!

We're having friends over tonight and I've been running around like a blue arsed fly trying to tidy the place. Lower back and hips now very stiff.

I'm dreading @IVEgottheDECAF getting her pram- it's the most well researched pram purchase ever so I'll just get buyers regret on mine when we eventually get the big reveal Grin

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 15/06/2019 17:37

Haha my DH is just the same - I've made the executive decision to axe 2 of the 3 thick jumpers he'd left out to pack. We're off to Greece and it's forecast to be 25deg still at 9pm, we just won't need jumpers... The irony is that he's chosen to travel tomorrow to Gatwick at 4am in a polo shirt and jeans, no jumper...

On the plus side it's the lightest I've even packed for myself as I only have a few dresses, shorts, couple of kaftans that will actually fit me!

happytobemrsg · 15/06/2019 19:22

@IVEgottheDECAF Well! We headed straight to JL to look at the icandy Lime. We had the Starwberry with DS but as much as we liked how sturdy & high it was, it was just too heavy & took up too much space in the boot. We used to have a Mazda 2 so had to take the wheels off every time we put it in the boot (no fun in the pouring rain). So we wanted to see how the Lime stacked up (supposed to be much lighter, smaller etc). But I wasn’t impressed tbh. It definitely folded smaller but was still really heavy. The couple next to us was trying out the Bavyzen Yo-yo+ so we had a look at that & was sold. Its SO light to push & folds small enough to carry on your shoulder or even put in the cabin on a plane. Mental. Although is so light it didn’t feel flimsy. It’s not got the separate carry cot which I would have preferred, but considering you only use that for such a short time it’s my compromise. Still suitable from birth - it has one of those newborn nest things which is cosy. We got it in the navy. Got to matching bag as well 👍🏻💙

A cool pic

TwittleBee · 15/06/2019 19:27

DustyDoorframes I'm finally sitting down now thankfully. I stupidly agreed to take DS out on hid balance bike as he asked so nicely, but he got half way and refused to move at all unless I carried him! So there was me carrying a 2 year old and his bike. Feel like I could cry now. DH better be giving me a massage tonight!!

Here’s the bag! Fits so much. Can you tell I’m excited?!?

happytobemrsg · 15/06/2019 19:28

You really need to take it easy bee!

Megan2018 · 15/06/2019 19:40

DH has announced he doesn’t want the pram in the house before she is born-more delaying tactics. I’ll definitely be the last one buying!
He also doesn’t like the colour of any of the ones I like, or the colour of any of the nursery furniture I’ve suggested so I am officially sulking at lack of progress Hmm

He thinks we have all the time in the world despite the fact NCT course leader said be prepared by 36 weeks, so less than 9 weeks away. Instead he wants to talk about decorating the hall - WTAF?!

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 19:42

megan will he say what he likes or is he just being useless all over

TwittleBee · 15/06/2019 19:50

Actually love the video to advertise that bag mrsg ! Pretty nifty bag too.

Megan he really is in denial isn't it! My advice would be ready asap! I'm gonna start packing a hospital bag tomorrow in case I need to pop in at all for monitoring.

Plus, you wanna get things sorted before the hot weather kicks in!

IVEgottheDECAF · 15/06/2019 19:52

Re my pram i am pretty set on a cosatto wow, i am just waiting to see if my preferred design reduces in price in next couple weeks as they have recently released new stuff

Megan2018 · 15/06/2019 19:52

@IVEgottheDECAF he wants things that either don’t exist or are way beyond budget.

Our house is a blank canvas as we only moved 10 months ago and there are a lot of things we need to do/get, its like a sort of weird nesting thing. He keeps saying we “have to get the house finished before she is born” when the reality is we can’t afford both the baby things and finishing the house and quite frankly I’d prefer the pram and car seat to changing the dining table......

DustyDoorframes · 15/06/2019 20:04

Oh twittle I hope you've a quiet day tomorrow!! You must be all over aches!
Hah, my DP is the opposite for packing- he gets overwhelmed by all the STUFF so will plan for a two week trip with two pairs of pants and a spare t-shirt...
Decaf we are all rooting for a mega Cosatto sale, just to put you out of your misery!!!
happy you see those around a lot where I live, we didn't get one with my eldest as I worried it wouldn't last- but you see plenty of great big 3 year olds in them now that it's been around a while, it's clearly made of solid (but light!) stuff!
Happy holidays travellers!
