Awww lovely. Glad it went well

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 11:51

Lovely picture megan!

28 weeks today and baby is the size of .... a coconut or a roller blade (apparently) Hmm

Megan2018 · 13/06/2019 12:06

@IVEgottheDECAF
Ha! What random items!
Baby is estimated to weigh 2lb 6 based on todays scan.

kyles101 · 13/06/2019 12:23

Awww that's so cute Megan!! I have a diabetes test next Thursday and think I'm having a growth scan too! I'll be just shy of 29 weeks so no pic for me I presume.

Felt so tired this week, presume it's the weather? Any believe ya nearly the weekend again, weeks seem to be flying by at the minute... probs because I'm in bed by 9pm!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 12:28

kyles i agree time seems be flying by atm, seems only yesterday i was happy at reaching 24 weeks and now thats four weeks ago!

I have been really tired lately but today some energy has appeared from somewhere. Housework had been being neglected due to tiredness and SPD but i am on it today! Our grimey bedroom is almost spotless!

kyles101 · 13/06/2019 13:32

I've had such fits and starts with energy - Monday for example I did 4 hours ironing after work (yes I let it pile up AGAIN!! One day I will learn!) but that appears to have wiped me out for the week!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 13:51

Oh i do not doubt that tomorrow i will be stuck to the sofa! But atleast i will be able to get in my bed without nearly breaking my neck on a load of random crap which should not even be in the bloody room!

Do you iron everything kyles? I only iron what really needs it lol. This is usually just bits of school uniform and the odd tshirt!

Stroan · 13/06/2019 13:58

Time is definitely flying, which is one consolation after feeling so rubbish for so long!

We don't get any pictures from growth scans, but I find that the bigger the baby gets the less good the pictures are because you only get to see bits of the baby! I had 8 scans with DD, 6 so far in this pregnancy. I am a bit underwhelmed by scans now. The sonographer must think I have a heart of stone.

kyles101 · 13/06/2019 13:59

Everything apart from pants (mine and his - although he did ask me to as "my mum did" when we moved in together... err no!) to be fair, I've started hanging some work dresses now that I know I can get away with, but honestly our stuff always looks so creased - perhaps I put too much in the washing machine? My sister does hardly anything either and she never looks creased?? I don't get it!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 14:04

Ah i want some extra scans! Just not because of any complications!

Stroan · 13/06/2019 14:15

I don't iron anything. I don't know where our iron is. I seem to somehow pick clothes that don't crease.

Megan2018 · 13/06/2019 14:20

I don't iron anything either. We own an iron but it gets used very rarely. DH irons formal shirts for weddings etc. Everything I buy is hung from the machine and never needs it.

I am rubbish at domestic life though - we are fortunate to have a weekly cleaner (who I am fighting to keep hold of on mat leave even though we can't afford her) and in between we do very little else. Yet I will happily spend hours mucking out a stable....

Megan2018 · 13/06/2019 14:28

Got to go to the dentist later today - dreading it!
I had awful issues being unable to brush my teeth through the first trimester and up to about 22 weeks so christ knows what state they are in. I should have seen them in April but had to keep postponing as I was violently sick any time I tried to put a brush in my mouth.

I've managed to get to age 41 filling free but I suspect I am in for a whole load of issues now!! Irritating thing is my dentists are private so don't even get the perk of free treatment! But they are very good. I hate the dentist even more than I hate hospitals Blush

kyles101 · 13/06/2019 14:41

@Megan2018 just how though? What about jeans? And work shirts?? I wash then tumble, even if (on the very odd occasion) I catch it just as it's ending everything still
Isn't ok to wear I don't think... do your clothes look wrinkle free on hanging or as you wear them do they smooth out?

I had a cleaner for 3 glorious years, then she left to start her own hairdressing salon and I've never gotten around to replacing her. The kitchen was the only thing I used to keep on top of, she used to iron too... or maybe she just used to tumble and hang and I never knew Hmm

Megan2018 · 13/06/2019 14:44

I don’t tumble any clothes, they get hung damp and nothing is ever creased. I take things out of the machine as soon as possible and hang them to dry on the right sort of hangers.
It wouldn’t work for linen (but I refuse to buy it Grin).
I tumble bedding/towels though.

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 14:44

I think I’m too late to join this now 🙈

TheCraicDealer · 13/06/2019 14:50

I don't really iron either, my colleague does her own, her DH's, her (adult) DD's, her DM's and her DMiL's. She does the bedsheets, underwear and all- fuck that!

Anything that's tumbledried needs to be taken out when still warm and hung or folded. Anything else can be hung to dry- I have a heated airer and it's good but not the miracle worker others say it is. Just hang it carefully. And don't buy shirts! All my work tops pre-pregnancy were similar to these which require no ironing. Some stuff is unavoidable and needs done but we maybe do an ironing session of a few bits every other month.

I would love a cleaner and am seriously thinking of getting one in temporarily for the first few weeks post baby.

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/06/2019 14:55

I would love a cleaner but tbh i would want to clean before the cleaner came so she didnt see the dirt so its probably pointless Grin

Karigan195 · 13/06/2019 15:05

Life is too short for ironing. I have some serious suits for when out in the field but they get dry cleaned. My shirts are bodycon shirts so no ironing and anything else gets stuck on a hanger to dry damp.

If it’s gets very creased you can always hang it in the shower room whilst you shower too 😂😂😂

stormtrooperjulian · 13/06/2019 15:06

I don’t iron either. We do own an iron but I could only guess at where it is right now as I never touch it. DH irons a shirt if we’re going out somewhere nice but that’s all the exercise it gets. I hate cleaning too (I’m not particularly domesticated 😂) so our cleaner is definitely a worthwhile investment in my opinion!

Things I still need to get for baby:

Absolutely everything. I have bought literally nothing. Maybe I should start to panic soon.....

boodles101 · 13/06/2019 15:12

DH does our ironing because he has his work shirts to do, I only ever have 1 or 2 items from a wash that actually need ironing so he just does them for me. Although he has recently been letting it pile up which does my head in.
I'm probably the only one feeling like it's going slowly, but that's cos I've been waiting forever for the scan next week. Once that's done and I have more info, I'm sure the next 10weeks will fly by!

Happytobemrsg not too late to join us at all.

Stroan · 13/06/2019 15:18

@happytobemrsg never too late! As you can see, we do a good line in chatting about all sorts!

I want a cleaner. I don't mind cleaning, but I'm rubbish at tidying. If I had a cleaner, I would have to tidy up so that they could actually clean!

excitednerves · 13/06/2019 15:51

@boodles101 I also think time has slowed! I think because I have no appointments to look forward to for ages. Trying to make the days go faster by counting down working days left to go, minus any days off and days out of the office on training.

I now have just under 8 weeks at work and 11 weeks 5 days (82 days) until baby. Feels like forever! I’m sure one morning I’ll wake up and it will feel like there’s no time left!

Good luck with the scan

TwittleBee · 13/06/2019 15:54

Welcome @happytobemrsg ! Certainly not too late! More the merrier

I would LOVE a cleaner, just to do those jobs I always put off like pulling out the sofa, the kitchen kickboards and hoovering upstairs oh and to do the bathrooms too, hate dealing with limescale. Although doing TOMMethod has kept us on top of it all really.

Regarding ironing, I never usually have to for most clothes - just hang as soon as the washing machine is done. Theres a few dresses and shirts that do.

Ah @excitednerves counting in days seems so much worse than weeks. I'm not going to do that again!

I think that what is helping me this time is knowing that I have a definite end date! I can't go over 39 weeks so I know I'll definitely have a baby within 11weeks. 10 would be nice! Last time they said they wouldn't let me go overdue and then did, it was mentally really difficult.
