I did it (slightly adjusted the wording - is it OK?)!!! Now all we've got to do is a link from the old one to the new one - I'll leave that to somebody a bit more competent!

By the way, I just go laalalaalalaaa when you guys talk about epidurals/pain relief etc. I really didn't enjoy having one when I had DS but I had to as they had put me on a drip and all sorts and I had lots of complications. Ended up with even more severe migraines for years afterwards too. Didn't have one with DD1 and much preferred the whole experience. If I can get away with it this time, I'm going to try and avoid having one (obviously can't predict how things will go!). Gas & Air me up all the way!!!

Nope, feeling worse atm, it is only my 2nd night of it though - DH has just asked if I will sleep in the spare room tonight

Report
dal21 · 29/07/2007 20:08

Ahhh, you'll both probably sleep better in separate rooms. I know when I am not tip top..I always sneak out of bed because I feel too guilty about disturbing DH otherwise.

Mrs Fish - class story! It made me laugh until I realised that I am going on holiday next week and had better check that all is well with my booking! x

Marvellous story Mrs Fish. Made me laugh

Bit of a rubbish weekend, felt terrible all round, waking up at 4am on Saturday and Sunday and had pains in my bump which felt like I had pulled several muscles. No idea what was wrong but seeing mid wife tomorrow so can find out more and actually do feel a bit better today.

must do some work but hello to all

Holly29 - The moral of the story is to check your paperwork, will definitely be checking and double checking mine in the future

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, it was my birthday on sunday so I had a lovely day, dh brought me breakfast in bed, we went for a lovely lunch and then to the cinema to see the simpsons (hmmmmm ok, but might as well wait to see it on tv)

MrsFish - I'm sorry but I had to LOL at your holiday mixup! It's completely the sort of thing I'd do - even when not pregnant!! I hope your cold gets better soon.

Potoroo - I did laugh about the comment at the dentists... could you be pg???

Rosie - that's a great list, thanks for that. I'm still going to leave the bag packing until I go in to labour, really helps to take your mind off things.

Toadstool - so glad you're at home and enjoying home comforts now. Thanks for the advice about hospital stays. I'm sure we should get some of our National insurance money back as between us all taking our antiseptic wipes and cleaning gel the hospitals will be cleaner when we leave them than when we arrive!!

Edie - sorry you're getting kicked in the ribs, I've been so convinced my baby's breech as I've had none of this, no movement above my belly button at all. My doc disagrees and thinks the baby's head down. Must be folded in two then. I'm quite glad tbh, rib kicking doesn't sound like fun!

emj - I hope you've recovered from the fat comment. I agree with the others, ignore ignorant tw@ts like that!!

Chatty - I hope your growth scan goes ok. Good luck with the baking for your ds birthday. I'm quite impressed, I'd be down the shops buying a cake, but I'm soooo lazy!

PLP - the oedema isn't too bad, I'm still quite puffy, going back to the doc on friday to see if my bp and urine are ok. I've started getting a bit of carpal tunnel syndrome now, not horrendous, just a bit of pins and needles in my hands. It's more irritating than anything.

Canadianmum - I hope you are recovering from your gherkin injury! It sounds like one of those things that always come up when they're talking about unusual accident statistics... number of people injured by loo roll holders in a year etc! I hope you're recovering from having your MIL round. I always develop some kind of amnesia when people come round and just sit there waiting to be waited on hand and foot, I "forget" to cook or prepare any drinks! hehehe! Hopefully they get the hint!

Lou - I hope the early labour is under control now and you don't get any more scares. I sometimes feel really evil for thinking this, but I'd love this baby to come a couple of weeks early. That's awful isn't it?? I just can't wait to get my body back! But it's a bit scary I imagine if it's more than a couple of weeks. I hope your baby stays put for a wee while longer!

I hope I haven't missed anyone! Have a lovely day everyone, enjoy the sunshine!

Hello people!
Just had MW appointment, all's going well, squid's heartbeat sounds healthy and am right on track for having a "good size baby" (LOL that means it's going to be a big one then?!!)

Hope you all had a good weekend!
Mine was Ok, got rid of DD for the weekend (well, sort of) and spent all Saturday driving round LOL, it was Ok, not quite the romantic weekedn I had expected but, at least, I got taken out for a meal in the evening!! Makes nice change from beans on toast LOL

Got some nice post this morning too!
Got a lovely bundle of clothes for baby (thanks to Gingerbear), also got a free 30 day bus pass (for complaining about new charges!!) and a Tchibo brochure (Ok, so that's not so exciting but gives me something to read LOL)

That's about as exciting as my post gets nowadays, anyone else found their post getting boring?!

Right, I'm off for a nap, hope you've all got the lovely weather we've got here! I'll be out this afternoon for a bit of sun, methinks!

MrsMar - happy birthday belatedly! Actually Sunday was my first wedding anniversary, so we were both sharing a special day . I had a fab time, I really made an effort to dress up and put on nice make-up and had very romantic time .

I also finished Harry Potter this weekend, so feeling very smug!

Happy anniversary Holly! Thanks for birthday wishes, feeling very old (shhhh say it very quietly, I'm 37!!!! argh!!!) it sounds like you had a lovely day. I'm still waiting for my copy of Harry Potter, trying to avoid all references. I sent a copy to my mum in France the very same day she bought her own copy out there (we're so psychic!!) so she's bringing the copy I sent out to her back home, but she won't be here until the 9th August. Oh the suspense!

Looby - the vip seats were those big ones with an armrest that can be lifted, so you can almost turn them in to a mini sofa. I know what you mean about sore bum sitting so long, my coccyx and hips really hurt, but I kinda leant on dh and put my feet up to the side as if I was sitting on the sofa at home. Not too bad, but then the simpsons movie is quite short, only 90 mins!

May have to treat myself to the cinema then. though i still manage to sleep. At the moment my perfect night is an indian and a can of diet coke. LOL! How very sad. Harry potter i have never watched the films or read the books my Dp Is half way through the book i may read the end of it and tell him it hahah that way he may talk to me in the evenings. LOL

hi all, have spent about an hour [on and off] catching up, so apologies to anyone I haven't said hello to if they're new. Mind like a sieve and I can't type/spell either anymore.
I have the occasional energy spurt, but it is quickly replaced by a slump. Brilliant seeing as my mum and s/dad are back home now and have left me alone with three monsters! I am now finding the need to nap during the day [again] and have lost my appetite [again]. Everything feels very low, although not engaged low, but my back is starting up again, so maybe the rubbish temporary m/w was right about lo turning and being face down. Actually fell like being cheered up this evening.

Thanks everyone for your comments about my complainy post, I am fine now, I was just rather that anyone could be so thoughtless, but there you go. I will try to just laugh at such daft people in future I think.

MrsFish, oh my goodness. I thought I had bad pregnancy forgetfulness - I took DS to a birthday party last weekend and turned up an hour early, but to get it wrong by a week is very impressive indeed! I hope you and your DH are not cross with each other about it, and I'm sure you'll have a lovely time next week instead.

Happy anniversary Holly29!

I hope everyone else is feeling fine and not suffering now that the weather has improved. I am quite enjoying it so far, but it could be a different matter if we suddenly have a heat wave or something!

Looby - You've really reminded me of a friend of mine at work who always used to stick post it notes in to any book I was reading with a note with something along the lines of "he dies in the end" written on it, much to everyone's hilarity. The other day when I was emptying our bookshelves so the painters could paint them I found an old book about JFK and the Cuban Missile crisis which I'd really enjoyed, leafing through it again I found a post it note from my mate saying "he dies in the end you know!" Oh how I laughed

Note to self: I need to get a life!

on other people making rude/thoughtless comments;
a while back now I was in the supermarket with the lo's after school when a complete stranger came up to us and had a go at me about how irresponsible I was having four children [i was obviously pregnant]

just take these 'people' with the huge pinch of salt the require and carry on being the decent person you [i am sure] you are

emj23 - luckily my dh is very laid back so he isn't cross with me, we have never had an argument, and this was a reason if any to have one, we just laughed about it in the end. His point of view is that whats done is done, no amount of arguing or placing blame would have changed anything

can I get one like yours please? I had a really sore back at the weekend and [almost] begged for a back rub, to which dp responded with
'no, i get too uncomfortable.'
