I did it (slightly adjusted the wording - is it OK?)!!! Now all we've got to do is a link from the old one to the new one - I'll leave that to somebody a bit more competent!

By the way, I just go laalalaalalaaa when you guys talk about epidurals/pain relief etc. I really didn't enjoy having one when I had DS but I had to as they had put me on a drip and all sorts and I had lots of complications. Ended up with even more severe migraines for years afterwards too. Didn't have one with DD1 and much preferred the whole experience. If I can get away with it this time, I'm going to try and avoid having one (obviously can't predict how things will go!). Gas & Air me up all the way!!!

Hi all,

just wanted to say hello as I have been stuck in all day with the builders and am suffering from cabin fever a little bit. I wish they would go home so that I can make some dinner and have a hot bath.

Anyone else feeling really fed up at the moment?

Report
MrsFish · 21/08/2007 18:17

I'm feeling really fed up, very tearful and short tempered. I'm sure I will be ok tomorrow though, my moods don't generally last long. Off to Twycross Zoo tomorrow with the nursery, I'm gonna be knackered when we get back, but at least its another day out of the house with other people around to help with ds.

Report
Hopeitwontbebig · 21/08/2007 18:26

Sorry you're still feeling fed up MrsFish. I've been to Twycross Zoo, can't remember when though!

EmLouT, I totally sympathise on the builders front, it is nice to get your own space back when they've gone for the day, they seem to have this attitude of your home is their home whilst they're working there don't they!

dal21, eek, when I had a show with DS1 I went into labour 48 hours later, I was a week overdue then and the show was a lot more, how should I say 'volumeous'. They didn't seem too worried that labour would start anytime soon, they said these things can 'show up' weeks before labour actually starts, fingers crossed as it's a wee bit early for this LO, I'm 35+2 today, although I suspect she's probably already about 7lbs if my other two are anything to go by!!

Hi everyone - stop chatting i can't keep up!

DS arrived back from MIL today and i'm finding him very hard work after 3 days break - roll on bedtime!

Thanks for the email dal21, I can't open it for some reason, I don't appear to have Excel on my computer but I'm sure I'll work it out somehow - I'm dead technical me

PurpleLostPrincess · 21/08/2007 20:31

emj, I have sent you an e-mail with all the information copied onto the body of it being as you haven't got excel - hope it helps!

Chatty, hope DS settles for you! I've always been fascinated as to why they tend to take a while to settle back into things when they've been with other family members!

HIWBB - how are you feeling? I had a show with DD1 but it was a good week before she arrived and from what you are saying it was more 'volumous'...

MrsFish - enjoy your day out tomorrow, hope it lifts your spirits! Don't push yourself too much though as we don't want you getting even more tired!

EmLouT - hope the builders have gone or are at least going soon?

I notice you've all got sore spots at the top of your bumps - I've got one at the bottom of my bump - is that just because I've got Irish blood LOL?! It feels like a big bruise but at the same time the skin is really sensitive!?

BTW, my location is Shropshire, it's not on the list for some reason, I probably forgot to say that in my email to dal21. Ooops.

Happy to help emj!

I meant to say in response to EmLouT - I was feeling well and truly fed up all day today and totally down in the dumps...

UNTIL I got a phonecall from a lovely friend in California!!! You may have noticed the 'lost' bit in my name - well thats because I have long been a LOST nutter and I used to spend all my time on a particular website before I found mumsnet. While on that website, I made friends with this lovely lady and we became e-mail buddies - we've got tonnes in common. Over the past few years we have sent each other parcels across the sea etc. and she recently sent me a beautiful parcel for this lo. She had ordered one of the outfits online and sent it straight away because it was beautifully gift wrapped - turns out they sent the wrong one! Today is the first time we have talked in person and it really cheered me up (we swapped numbers a few weeks ago). I can't wait to call her to let her know about this lo's arrival and feel so blessed to have spent so long just chatting with her! She's got a gorgeous californian twang!!

Anyway, I know this is all completely irrelevant but I just needed to share it with somebody!

Hello my lovelies,
Last night was the worst yet! After moving back into the spare room (DH started snoring again last night, could it be down to the fact that he hadn't had a cigarette before bed?), waking every 2 hours, with serious heartburn and needing to wee loads (is it a sign baby's moved south? Not likely, woke up and baby's trying escape through my throat LOL)

Got my Strep B results through today, positive so it'll definately be hospital birth, I knew it was a possibility What gets me is there would've obviously been a risk with me 2 years ago and it makes me angry that we're not told about it by the MW's (I basically had to tell her what it was about!! And even then she tried to put me off having it, pretty glad I'm so darn stubborn now )

Still, good news is tummy's fine today so think it might just have been nerves or reaction to prods etc by MW.

toadstool: That's a shame, if we could get the stuff to you we would (would also be a good excuse to do some serious shopping) but we just don't have time with DH working all hours before LO's birth Bummer!

Dal21: Glad the doppler went well!

Jemimapuddleduck: Glad your hospital is something to look forward to, our tour's next Tuesday, am dreading that let alone having a baby there!

Loopyloulisa: Good luck with your dilemma, I'd be gone!! LOL

PLP: Well done on sorting baby things, I'm lagging slightly, thought I'd done loads and then found a load more to sort Oh well! Still got to sort hoapital bag (I'm soooo bad at this) But will definately do it tomorrow as DH is home tomorrow (working the weekend though ) so he'll give me a push for it!!
Glad you got a nice call! The most I get now is courtesy calls from the local cash and carry (GRR woke DD up earlier, only 10 minutes after putting her down for a nap too!!)
Which reminds me I should really phone my friend (she's American) and let her know how I'm getting on etc

EmlouT: I'm feeling fed up too, DH came home today and started getting ansty, said he felt tired and went to bed same time as DD O that's right, HE'S the one who's pregnant right?!! LOL Rant over!
Hope you manage to get out at some point, I've managed to get out both today and yesterday (with thanks only to a bus pass I got given for making a fuss about the charges going up, again!)

MrsFish: Sorry you're feeling low too, I sympathise with the short temper though, I haven't even got the time for myself to be unable to get up and do more than five minutes, am starting to get ratty with DD if she get's bored, poor little thing.

Ooh, it's getting so exciting hearing about shows and contractions.

HIWBB - How are you feeling? I am a little envious I have to say!. I'm almost 37 weeks but as DD1 was 2 weeks late I keep thinking that I have another 5 weeks to go! I remember last time around I kept putting off a uni assignment hoping I'd get out of it with "extenuating circumstances". I did it in the end and 5 minutes after i finished it I went into labour! Do you think the tax office will grant me "extenuating circumstances" if I don't get my tax return in on time?

Sorry to be a bit slow, but can I ask again about the vaseline thingy? When's the best time to apply it to baby? I can't remember when they have that first mucky poo!

Jemima, I had both my two DC's a week late so I'm telling myself I've got 6ish weeks to go even though I look like I'm about to pop!! DS keeps telling me that its different sperm this time though bless him LOL!

I think its the first few poos straight after they are born but I could be wrong... I know I'll be trying out that tip this time though!!

vaseline - put it on before the very first nappy, use lots, and make sure dp know about it too (as ime he/birth partner is more likely to be dressing lo) keep doing it until the poo is lovely and runny lol. what a pleasant subject to be discussing.

i have bought some arnica and i can't remebr when it is ok to take it from. i can only get hold of the 30c strength so was gonna use several at a time to increase it but just can't remebr if i start taking it before or straight after cs. can you tell i'm counting down yet? have 9 days and 7 hours til i arrive at the hospital. feeling a bit like a child at christmas lol xx

Morning LoopLouLisa, sorry you weren't able to get to sleep last night. I was struggling too with the Braxton Hicks. They seem to have settled this morning, but still getting a bit of a bloody discharge . WIll just have to keep an eye on it.

I'm glad you brought up the Arnica thing, I asked in Boots about it on Sunday and the girl didn't have a clue. If you find out, let me know won't you. Ooh 9 days to go!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!

Hopey - it worked! Not napping yesterday worked! I fell asleep by about 9 and had a really good sleep til about 3. Was a little restless at 3 but then slept til 6 when DH got up. I still tend to wake up same time as him as am still in routine of getting up to go to work! As hard as I try; cannot sleep past 7. So unless i really want too...no daytime naps for me anymore! Anymore news on the show front?

PLP - thanks for sorting that for Emj. Cannot believe how many of us are due in Sept! This thread is going to get so unbelievably busy and exciting!

EmLou - how much longer do you have builders in for? We have them back in today (again) for little problems with the installation with the bathroom. Grrr. They have just arrived and I am heading out so they can get on with sorting the problem. But I do understand how unsettling it is to have them in your house, is just not relaxing!

MrsF - hope you feel better this morning and yesterday was just an off day.

Loopy - havent commented on your dilemna as I have no experience with your situation. But hope that it all works out.

MrsM - nicely done on the cooking. I have been busy stocking up on indian food - lentils/ curries etc. they freeze really well, think i will also make a lasagne and cottage pie (cant believe am making cottage pie in aug....) so we have a mix of things.

Twit - anymore contractions?

Kyala - its good that you have your results and well done for insisting on having the test done! Sorry it rules out a homebirth (think you were hoping for that?) Not really sure what strep b is...

Re. the heartburn, I tried something last night and will keep trying. I normally take all my vits in the morning (including a live acidophilus tablet) and never get heartburn in the morning....so I took another one with dinner in the evening and felt fine. So if anyone is really suffering with it - maybe worth a go?

Loopy - re the arnica - for a csection, I understand you start taking it 12/24 hours beforehand. But do double check that my sources are right on that.

Hello to everyone else, am pretty sure saying hello to everyone who has posted will soon become fairly impossible!
I am off out shopping, still raining in London but am not going to complain! Hope everyone is ok - and good luck to those with appts/ waiting results. I cant keep up who is waiting for what!

Hi all - daft question at this point but how do I add myself to the stats page? It would be great if I could be on the email list too!

Thanks for all the encouraging thoughts about the builders. Unfortunately, since the kitchen wall fell down a couple of weeks ago, they are going to be here for about another three weeks. They are very sweet but SO messy and they drink so much tea and don't think twice about finishing the milk. Since my doctor has told me that he thinks he might have to deliver the LO a bit early (am due September 14th) I think he might arrive before the builders leave.

Kyala - I am in the same boat as you with the Strep B and I agree that they should be a lot more vigilant than they are - I only got tested because I went into hospital at 28 weeks with lower back pain and I didn't get the test results until a couple of weeks ago. Anyhow, at least now we know we can take the necessary precautions even if it does mean being stuck with needles and a hospital birth, at least our LO's will be protected!

My nursery furniture is being delivered today and I am very excited - I don't really mind staying in for that! Have a good day all!

Has anyone else looked into childcare yet? bit previous i know, i knew it was expensive but OMIGOD. i might as well sell the LO into the white slave trade now. Nearly £1000 a month for full-time nursery care where i live. we both earn good money but still, that's kind of ruinous.
sorry just had to share my shock with someone
