I did it (slightly adjusted the wording - is it OK?)!!! Now all we've got to do is a link from the old one to the new one - I'll leave that to somebody a bit more competent!

By the way, I just go laalalaalalaaa when you guys talk about epidurals/pain relief etc. I really didn't enjoy having one when I had DS but I had to as they had put me on a drip and all sorts and I had lots of complications. Ended up with even more severe migraines for years afterwards too. Didn't have one with DD1 and much preferred the whole experience. If I can get away with it this time, I'm going to try and avoid having one (obviously can't predict how things will go!). Gas & Air me up all the way!!!

Ohhh twit - what happened with your contractions? Sorry - missed that!

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 20:41

lol yesterday. are you feeling ok now?

kinki · 20/08/2007 20:45

flippin heck twit, have you been contracting? When are you due? You sound quite cool about it all!

dal21 · 20/08/2007 20:46

How long did they last for? How do they feel? (sorry - silly question)

I am good thanks - feeling a lot calmer and reassured. Think the fact that i went in for a trace on sat pm - then my obs was on the phone wanting me back in the same evening for another one, then on sunday also and then today made me wander just how serious this was. 2 good traces and one doppler later - am feeling heaps better. Still have to keep a close eye on fetal movement over next 10 days.

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 20:50

14th.
No point panicking is there?

Dal, I'm glad you're being closely monitored, they hurt a bit, comes and goes in waves, just like the books say really. I've not had anymore although ds1 was born about now, ds2 at 38 and dd at 39. So who knows?

dal21 · 20/08/2007 20:54

God - you are as cool as a cucumber! I think i would be doing my nut!

kinki · 20/08/2007 20:57

Could be any time then. Have you had a show yet? Not that that means much I suppose. Do you feel ok being on your own? (It is you who's dh works away during the week isn't it? Or am I making that up?).

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 20/08/2007 20:58

Hi everyone.

PLP hope the swelling is better and that you are managing to get some rest

Good luck AmyClaraMum, we are all thinking of you and can't wait to hear your birth news.

Kinki - I know what you mean about the inlaws. My DP has just told me that his parents are coming to stay for a week straight after I come back from the hospital with bubs...I'm too cross at the moment to discuss it with him, but there is no way they can come then...

i agree with the sleeping issue. My max sleep length is an hour before hip pain/bladder wakes me up. Has anyone found the best way to arrange pillows to reduce pain and lengthen sleep time? Any tips greatfully received!

Went on hospital tour on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the delivery suite looked and all with sea views! Had DD1 at UCH in London and it sure beats a view of the Euston Road. It's DP's first baby though and it all made him very nervous!

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 21:01

I haven't had anymore, and I have you lot to chat through the pain with if they do start up again.
yes he's 5 hours away. lol.

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 20/08/2007 21:01

TwitMonster - just saw your post. You do sound cool, calm and collected. Am so impressed. Are the contractions painful?

emj23 · 20/08/2007 21:03

Should we be boiling water and ripping up towels Twit? Wow, you really do sound very calm, well done you. Hope you're okay.

TOD · 20/08/2007 21:05

Hi hopeitwontbebig...I jumped over from the pregnancy area to say hello and answer you back!
I cant believe you remember me..it's been so long since i logged on to mumsnet but it's great to be remembered THANKS .
I only logged on this week (I'm not great with computers) to see how ye all were here in the sept group but didn't want to respond to any of ye as i feel ye all know each other so well at this stage !!!
Glad to hear ye are all coming along nicely like myself..am now 36 + 2. due sept 15th. feeling very big and uncomfortable but glad to be nearing the end!! Can't wait to meet this little one but a little worried about DS (2 years old) reaction!!!

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 21:06

I have just noticed the count is 9oo plus, it took a while before so maybe we shouls start making up a nw thread title.

TBH it will happen when it happens, maybe tonight, maybe in three weeks so there's no point worrying. And that goes for everyone else as well.

[dons cape of wisdom for 5 minutes and reclines on cloud]

lol

MrsMar · 20/08/2007 21:07

MrsF - those pics are sooo cute... he's really sweet!

MrsB - Hmmmm scones! sorry I completely missed that it was you who started the scone thing! About stacking the freezer up... most of the suggestions were to get some pasta and pizzas in, and I kind of wanted to avoid that so what I've come up with is the following:

homemade chicken burgers (with buns and some oven chips )
Homemade lasagne (I know it's pasta but hey...)
Some home made pasta sauces for emergencies (bolognaise and pesto)
Turkey chilli con carne (dh found the recipe in Runners World, pretty much the same as normal chilli but with turkey mince, pretty nice!)
Some frozen meat like some chicken legs for doing easy roast chicken, a few steaks and some lamb chops.
I'm also going to make some vegetable things too, maybe some ratatouille and dauphinoise potatoes. Oh and a couple of soups...

It all sounds a lot and I may not get round to all of it, but I'm going to try. Obviously I'll still have to get some fresh veggies in too, but that's what Mr Ocado is for!

Twit - I hope things are ok as far as the contractions are concerned... I'd be pretty excited cos i'm desperate to have this baby now, but are you ok? I hope so!

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 21:07

900 not 9 oo

TOD · 20/08/2007 21:09

Twit...best of luck...will keep checking in to see how you are doing!! My DH works away alot too I hope I will be as calm as you are...well done!

dal21 · 20/08/2007 21:10

Jemima - have ditched my body pillow and have a square pillow. It wraps under my bump and then i can prop the knee of my top leg on it. Dead comfy and am out for the count. Am sleeping slightly more propped up also.

Twit - you are so right, but so funny. I hope I am chilled out as you with any subsequent ones! No chance on this one.

Re the thread title....everyone is going on about stretch marks? anything related to that perhaps? Am sure we can come up with something better, but just a suggestion!

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 21:16

are we having baby zebras or what? this autumn we shall mostly be wearing stripes

lol

dal21 · 20/08/2007 21:20

Twit - I LIKE what you have done there!

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 21:21
Blush
dal21 · 20/08/2007 21:23

Not only as cool as a cucumber, not only wise, but also witty. LOL!

MrsMar · 20/08/2007 21:24

ooh I like the "this autumn we will mostly be wearing stripes" one!!! (of course secretly I'm hoping I'm not!!)

dal21 · 20/08/2007 21:36

I likes that one too. am also hoping i wont be wearing the stripes!

MrsM - have started reading up on ECV now to understand pros and cons a bit more.
I know my MW at parentcraft class has delivered breech via vaginal - so I know I have the expertise in my team, but I think with the growth blips; my obs will not advise the additional stress of attempting vag. birth. He alluded to as much today - but obv, we need to revisit options on 29th at next growth scan.

TwitmonstEr · 20/08/2007 21:39

lol

good luck with tomorrow and both of you with your breeches. {sounds a bit kinky to me. lol

Am going to bed now, so nighty night and maybe see you in the morning.

dal21 · 20/08/2007 21:43
