I did it (slightly adjusted the wording - is it OK?)!!! Now all we've got to do is a link from the old one to the new one - I'll leave that to somebody a bit more competent!

By the way, I just go laalalaalalaaa when you guys talk about epidurals/pain relief etc. I really didn't enjoy having one when I had DS but I had to as they had put me on a drip and all sorts and I had lots of complications. Ended up with even more severe migraines for years afterwards too. Didn't have one with DD1 and much preferred the whole experience. If I can get away with it this time, I'm going to try and avoid having one (obviously can't predict how things will go!). Gas & Air me up all the way!!!

FilBrit · 16/08/2007 08:23

Hi, Cross post! It's 3.20 in the afternoon here, which my dodgy maths makes us 7 hours ahead. Is it ok about me joining the email group?

dal21 · 16/08/2007 08:25

absolutely! the more the merrier I think! and then when you come back to the UK to visit, we can arrange a mnet meet up.
Just realised you said 25th Aug - just over a week away! Isnt it weird to think you could be finally holding your LO so soon???

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 08:45

filbrit - nice to hear you're doing ok - i don't envy the heat though!

Well last day today looking after my friends little girl - it's been 2 1/2 yrs since she was 3 months old so end of an era but i'm so looking forward to it! DS and Her fight like mad so it'll be nice to have a bit of peace but i think DS will be really bored with no playmate and i can't exactly do much with him never mind soon he'll have a little bro to play with and playgroup

def going to miss the money though!

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 09:12

morning everyone, hope were all wll this mornin? weather is still rubbish but i'm glad of that to be honest. my ds is going away tonight till sunday to pontins in southport with his nan and grandad. i'll miss him loads but i feel quite guilty as i cant do much so were mostly stuck in house, so be nice for me him to do that. he comes back sunday and me and some of my family are taking him to centre parks for 4 days on monday. gutted i wont be able to go in water though.
hope everyone is well anyway xx

MrsMar · 16/08/2007 09:26

morning all...

glad you're settling in filbrit... I hope the heat is getting easier to bear. I think I'd struggle, I've been struggling here which is pathetic really

motherhysteria (great name btw!) please send my best wishes to amyclaramum, I hope she's ok and not too down about being in hospital. I'm getting less and less keen on this ecv business. Only a 50% success rate isn't terribly attractive and it sounds painful no matter what anyone says

canadianmum - I've tried telling dh how much what I do costs... what is it about blokes? They just don't get it, he was teasing me this morning about enjoying my last day off before my last day at work for 7 months! cheek, esp as I ironed 15 shirts of his yesterday... now how much would that have cost if he'd sent them to a shirt service place?

MrsFish, didn't mean to say your bump is small small, i know how annoying that is. I meant it's neat which is what diplomatic people keep saying about mine!

chatty - enjoy the peace and quiet (ish) for a few weeks!

Hayley - I hope you don't miss ds too much. Could be a nice time to treat yourself to some things you can't normally get the time to do. Why can't you go in the water at Centre Parcs?

Have a lovely day everyone... I'm off to meet some people from my antenatal class for coffee in a minute.

Xx

MrsFish · 16/08/2007 09:34

Morning everyone

MrsMar no need to apologise, I like the fact that you called it small

Filbrit - Glad you are settling in, I really couldn't be dealing with that heat though.

Amyclaramum - chin up, it will all be over soon

Weather is still rubbish here but I'm not complaining.. well I might be later if its still raining when I come out of the hairdressers

Well I have been feeling so much better by not eating after 5pm, I have a big lunch instead and a snack a bit later, which means no heartburn when I lie down in bed which means a better nights sleep

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 09:40

mrs mar. i wont go in as dont have a costume that ll fit me plus feeling a bit self consious my legs and arm are huge, ill get in water will get out. but will try to find something that dont make me lok to bad as i want to, but aslong as they let mear shorts or no way.
i'll be pretty lonlely as partner is not back till saturday, but we going shopping then for extra little bits yay.

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 10:16

OK so how's this for an unforgettable last day?

Little girl i look after just pooed all over my living room!

Turns out her daddy didn't put pull up on properly (it was only covering one cheek and giving her an almighty wedgy) so the poo went everywhere! About 20 spots all over my rug and carpet all over her shoes (she was wearing a dress) and some trodden in!

So with my spd i've spent the last 30 mins cleaning up - back is killing me! DP went mad and told me to phone someone to pick her up but didn't offer to help me?!

so now i'm wondering what else can happen before 6pm?

MrsBumblebee · 16/08/2007 10:44

Poor you, Chattyhan!! I hope you don't have cream carpets. I'm now really regretting the cream sofas we bought before we'd thought about having kids... at your dp for not helping you - though I'm sure mine would be just the same. He's already quite cagey about his plans for involvement in nappy changing duties

MotherHysteria, thanks for letting us know about amyclaramum. Send our love - and please keep us updated on how she's doing if you can!

By the way, have also added bump picture to profile. Forgive slightly weird stance - I'm still working out how to use the timer function on my new digital camera!!

ccpink · 16/08/2007 11:03

hi all
Having horrid week. Sick all day tue, then had to go to docs and get anti-biotics as have blocked gland downstairs?! and no electricity all day yesterday! Now think I'm getting thrush from anti-biotics Was better when I was at work!
hiwbb - thanks for asking after mum. She's not too bad just a bit up and down. She has a good week and half and then a bad one after treatment. Half way through now though so on downward slope.
dal - I finally got round to sending my details. Hope I'm not too late. Also didn't know what I was supposed to send i blame the bump.
chatty - you are obviously much calmer than me I'd be ready to kill the dad of poo girl!

Re the plastic bed protector - my midwife suggested a camping ground sheet for bed as cheap but I told my mum and she got me a cheap shower curtain from the supermarket so I'm going to use that instead. Hopefully it'll work. Probably won't need it if I've got it!

Anyway hoping for a better day today. Going to a pedicure party this afternoon. Great timing as can't reach very well. Can touch them if bring foot up and could splodge paint but not very well. Hopefully this will last me til birth - aargh!
bye for now

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 11:25

welcome sophieandbelly - what's your due date and where are you?

I'm 25, due 16th sep, baby 2 (boy) DS is 2.8 and live surrey/hants

I've got SPD too! And also couldn't think of girls names for our first!

As for labour - understandable to be anxious but having been there and doing it again believe me - it'll be fine and you'll have a baby at the end!

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 11:34

Me again!

Added photos to profile if anyone's interested?

MrsBumblebee · 16/08/2007 11:37

Good bump, Chattyhan. And love the picture of you and DS1 - very glam!

Welcome, sophieandbelly. Sorry to hear about your spd - from what others have said, I think you're in good company on this thread.

FilBrit · 16/08/2007 12:14

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 12:43

Thanks for the confidence boost but it was taken professionally and before i was pregnant! don't look anything like that now in my joggers and baggy T, no makeup, hair scraped back!!!

EdieMcredie · 16/08/2007 12:43

Hayley2u-I just had my growth scan and was told that she weighs about 7lb 8.

She looks good though and they are happy for me to go term and vaginally. My 2nd GTT was also normal

We got a pic of her face, it's really cute!!!

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 12:44

edie how many weeks are you? good growth scan results xx

dal21 · 16/08/2007 13:03

Chatty - dont envy you having to clear that up! I guess we all have it come!

Sophie - welcome to the thread. I am preg with my first and due 28th sept, is good to have someone due the end of the month!

CCPink - will go check if i have received your details.

Edie - great results! so when are you due? remind me.

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 13:06

sophieandbelly - yes it's another boy and we can't decide on a name at all!

Dal21 - no wasn't fun at all - it's definately easier to clean up stuff like that when it's your own child but when it's someone elses - [wretching emotion]

dal21 · 16/08/2007 13:06

Kinki/ ccpink - have your details.

Now what I am planning to do is copy EJT on the due in oct thread and buddy some people up.....based on locations/ due dates.

Does everyone want everyone elses details aswell as being buddied up?

Will look at it tomorrow.

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 13:08

i'd like everyones details as well!

MrsMar · 16/08/2007 13:18

aw hayley, sorry you're feeling so self conscious. I know what you mean, my sister keeps telling me to go swimming, but I'm a bit shy about getting my body out now I'm getting so much bigger.

welcome sophieandbelly - You're not alone at being shit scared... I'm a first timer too and trying not to think about it!

Poor chatty, I hope you have a nice quiet(er) afternoon with no more poo! Love the photo of you and ds1

ccpink - I hope you feel better soon and the rest of your mum's treatment goes well.

great news about the growth scan and gtt edie!

I am now the proud owner of a fully functioning and installed lovely chrome heated towel rail/radiator in my bathroom. The carpenter is finishing building the wardrobes tomorrow, I can finally see the light at the end of the refurbishment tunnel!!
