I did it (slightly adjusted the wording - is it OK?)!!! Now all we've got to do is a link from the old one to the new one - I'll leave that to somebody a bit more competent!

By the way, I just go laalalaalalaaa when you guys talk about epidurals/pain relief etc. I really didn't enjoy having one when I had DS but I had to as they had put me on a drip and all sorts and I had lots of complications. Ended up with even more severe migraines for years afterwards too. Didn't have one with DD1 and much preferred the whole experience. If I can get away with it this time, I'm going to try and avoid having one (obviously can't predict how things will go!). Gas & Air me up all the way!!!

ccpink · 16/08/2007 13:18

dal -sounds great and you must have a much more organised brain than me right now
chatty - your waters sound great but I've a friend who did it on wooden florr, shouted husband and he fell in the waters!!!! Much more likely to happen to me like that!

dal21 · 16/08/2007 13:33

I joined the club and have posted pic of me with bump also! it was taken about a week ago, am due another measure of the bump tomorrow at 34 weeks!

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 13:41

dal you are so neat, you look like a model for maternity wear

dal21 · 16/08/2007 13:42

LOL Hayley - I wish!! Clever dressing disguises a multitude of sins! But thank you for saying that anyways! Makes me feel a little less whale like!

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 14:06

dal you really should realy see me i'm huge lol i'm the whale and a hippo ha x

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 14:10

dal - i love the pic and completely agree you do look like a maternity model posing in a catalogue!

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 14:32

can anyone tell me how many bottles i should buy, iv just bought the avent newborn starter pack whih includes:
2 125 ml/4oz
and
2 260ml/9oz avent airflex natural feeding bottles, with 2 extra teats, dummy and bottle brush.

i know that i need more but how many

Chattyhan · 16/08/2007 14:50

hayley are you bottlefeeding from birth? If so i'd recommend you get a couple more 4 oz (that's all you'll need for first few months will move to 9oz later on) If you start with 4 bottles and see how you go - i breastfed until 4 months and made do with 4 9oz from then on but it depends how often you want to wash/sterlise and if you are making up bottles to take to childminder etc.

I'd say see how you go and buy more if need to! xx

kinki · 16/08/2007 15:12

You look gorgeous in that photo dal. I am very jealous!

MrsMar · 16/08/2007 15:39

OMG!!! dal you look amazing!! I've just posted a pic on my profile of my 35 week bump but I've just realised my gigantic arse makes my bump look hooooooge! My posture is terrible, I really stick my bum out Oh dear!!

MrsMar · 16/08/2007 15:39

oh and it doesn't help I'm in a baggy teeshirt and sweat pants cos i'm in the middle of doing housework (I'm so easily distracted!!)

dal21 · 16/08/2007 15:43

ok now i am

mrs mar - you look so lovely and happy in your wedding photo! and your arse and bump do not look huge! us pregnant women need to be nicer to ourselves!

toadstool · 16/08/2007 15:45

Haven't looked at your profile photos yet, will try! Chatty, do you mean your waters have just broken? Congrats! at poo girl, boo to dads who don't bother to check nappies are on... Good vibes to amyclaramum in hospital.
Kinki - many belated thanks for your advice about the x-ray, I got one after requesting it on the grounds you'd given.

I've weaned myself off codeine because it might cause breathing problems and withdrawal symptoms in the bub at birth. It's been miniature cold turkey, nausea, bunged-upness, raised temperature. Lovely. TMI time: Currently trying to find a comfy position for the blasted PILES that have returned with a vengeance. Ugh. Not good when sitting/lying 24/7... Perhaps an inflatable ring would work?
Dignity, probably 1 out of 10... hm, must be late pregnancy.

MrsFish · 16/08/2007 15:45

Hello Sophieandbelly - I'm due 30th September too

Dal - you look stunning in that picture, and such a cute neat bump

Well I have just got back from the hairdressers and feel so much better, had my hair dyed dark brown and had it cut to just on my shoulders, it looks sooo much better. Feels very short to how I used to have it though (see profile)

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 16:17

thanks chattyhan, tht helps a lot.i'll get couple more. think i get one fre also with the steriliser but not bought it yet.

MrsBumblebee · 16/08/2007 16:35

Hayley, I don't have any advice to offer on bottles, but I can tell you that I've just bought an Avent microwave steriliser and got two bottles free with it (one 4oz and one 9oz).

Dal, at your photo.

hayley2u · 16/08/2007 16:40

thanks bumble, well thats good.i'll buy that first then then get extras as i need them

MrsMar · 16/08/2007 17:03

Ah bless you dal! I think the key is with that wedding photo is that I was pretty drunk and had just had a very silly half our in my room with my bridesmaids pulling the 400 odd pins out of my hair and taking my veil out, and then rather drunkenly deciding to wash my hair... while in my wedding dress. Head over the bath with the hand held shower!

kinki · 16/08/2007 17:18

You're welcome Toadstool. Hope the healing process is rapid for you. And that the cold turkey thing settles down very quickly. Sorry to hear about the piles, I don't envy that. You're right about the lack of dignity. I've got thrush atm, not nice.

Chatty, oh dear about poo-girl. You're right about other kid's poo being so much worse than your own's. And I bet you were cursing the fact the floor seems so much more further away than it used to be! Only advice I can offer is have a chat with Hopey, I seem to remember she had a bit of problem with poo on a carpet, though that was dog flavoured!

And Mrs F, your new hair must be absolutely stunning if you say it's better than before - it's looks beautiful in your profile.

sophieandbelly · 16/08/2007 17:48

hi dal, you look great iam about 2wice as big as u!!!
i no everyone is going to say i shouldnt be thinking about body already, but cant wait to get bk on diet!! b4 getting pregnant had lost 3 stone, i went to goa in nov(loads of curries) and xmas and new year. prob gained about a stone!!!! so when i then fell pregnant i was like shit iam going to get fat again!!! (i no its for a good reason) but be nice to feel in control again!!

dal21 · 16/08/2007 17:49

MrsM - they are always the best photos. For our wedding, we have the lovely 'posed' photos; but the ones that still make us laugh the most are the ones where we are absolutely trollied...and just basking in that great we just got married feeling!

I have done nothing all day! I even have to fess up that am still in slippers and jim jams. Oh well - it is my first day of maternity leave! Gonna grab a shower before DH gets home!

dal21 · 16/08/2007 17:53

Thanks Sophie and MrsB too! Everyone is very kind - and it has really lifted me. thank you so much. I think everyone just feels like a blimp in pregnancy.

Can anyone who has already done this pregnancy lark tell me how it feels once you have had the baby? I imagine that you feel heaps lighter, tons of space all of a sudden! Am I right??? Is there lots of relief physically?

Tell me about getting my body back - I cannot wait to be able to run again.

EdieMcredie · 16/08/2007 18:17

Yes Hayley the GTT is a right pain.

Thanks MrsMar, Dal and Chatty. Im 36 weeks so lets hope she doesn't get too much bigger! Bless her. I don't mind as long as she is healthy which they seem to think she is.

MMooMar · 16/08/2007 18:34
