Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

@jpaws I was literally thinking today that I have no idea what size bag I'll need! I guess most the baby stuff can go in their changing bag?!

Anyone else looking into reusable nappies? I don’t know where to start !

NapsAndTea · 03/10/2019 20:09

@Comps83 I got some second hand off of Facebook - I also wasn't sure where to start 🙈

Comps83 · 03/10/2019 20:14

I might just buy a few to start and have disposables on hand. It’s a lot of money to fork out if they aren’t suitable as there are numerous different types and brands . Found a good article

Is anybody else not scared to give birth at all?

I’m excited and don’t have any nerves yet! 8 weeks 6 days to my due date...

MsSquiz · 03/10/2019 20:46

@jpaws I'm planning on using a small wheeled suitcase and the baby's changing bag. I just think it will be easier to manoeuvre if we need to go anywhere (from the birthing centre to the labour ward)

I've started putting bits and pieces aside that can be packed in advance:
Water bottle
Breast pads
Maternity pads
Toiletries

RLI1105 · 03/10/2019 21:17

@Comps83 I've been thinking about it since getting pregnant but I find the whole thing such a minefield! I've watched loads of YouTube videos and convince myself I'm going to do it and then I actually start thinking about it and I just think "am I biting off more than I can chew?"
There's an amazing second hand baby shop really close to me that sells them on the cheap so I may get a couple and try them out with disposables as a back up....

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 03/10/2019 21:40

I am planning on using reusables but completely lost with it all, I’m going to a local nappy library next week who are going to talk me through the options. They also do nappies for hire so i’ll probably do that to begin with as i’ve seen lots of people say they bought lots of different ones before finding the right ones for their babies!
It’s a bit of a minefield but I am determined to get there :)

NapsAndTea · 03/10/2019 21:44

@Comps83 mine look like the ones on the bottom right of the top picture. I'm going to use disposables at first and try and use the reusables when he's a bit bigger. Def won't be using them exclusively though!

NapsAndTea · 04/10/2019 14:06

Maybe a silly question ...

For those of you who have bought car seats already, do they come with an isofix base or do you have to buy it separately? I'm looking at a Joie 360spin so guess it comes with the base. I need to buy a second base for my MiL car too.

bespokepaininthearse · 04/10/2019 14:53

@NapsAndTea the joie 360 isofix is built in, so it's one unit, you wouldn't buy another base for a different car you would just move the whole thing. Most car seats like the maxicosi cabriofix, they require an additional base bought which stays in the car and you lift out just the car seat

bespokepaininthearse · 04/10/2019 14:54

I have thought about disposables but I'm not sure if I would be able to keep up!

The shooting and period like pains across the bottom of my belly is happening a lot now it's so uncomfortable! I have bought a belly band and it is helping today

NapsAndTea · 04/10/2019 17:06

@bespokepaininthearse so can you still take the car seat off the base?? Thank you!

NapsAndTea · 04/10/2019 17:12

I've just looked and seen that it's different to a carry one - you can tell I'm a first timer 🙈🙄 looks like it'll last longer than having to change seats when they grow out of it after a year or so and I suppose means he'll be in the pushchair or sling more when I get out the car briefly

bespokepaininthearse · 04/10/2019 20:23

@NapsAndTea no the joie is all one unit so you would move the whole thing to a different car, you would be better off getting a second car seat for a different car unless you got one like the maxi cosi which you could just have 2 bases. They do last longer but you can't ever carry the car seat which I found really helpful for things like the doctors or just popping out the car

Funnybunnyfluff · 04/10/2019 20:48

Has anyone else noticed their moles change a bit in pregnancy?

NapsAndTea · 04/10/2019 21:17

Thanks @bespokepaininthearse ☺️

StephRae · 08/10/2019 08:45

It’s a couple weeks since I was on here and struggled to find this chat 😂 still at work atm which is becoming more and more tiring so can’t wait to go on maternity leave. When are all of you guys going on maternity leave?

StephRae · 08/10/2019 08:48

It’s a shame you can’t put videos on here, my partner got the most amazing video of the baby moving last night but I took some screenshots of her in action. No idea what she was doing in there 😂 still feel huge for 28 weeks, god knows how big I’ll get by the time I’m full term.

December2019 · 08/10/2019 08:50

@StephRae I'm still on maternity leave from last year 🤭
Omg those pictures are incredible!!
I'm feeling all my movement in my sides and back my placenta is anterior so I think it's muffling lots of his movements
Ohh and I'm the ribs!... he likes it up there 😂

StephRae · 08/10/2019 09:23

She loves to kick me in the ribs as well, can be quite uncomfortable at times 😂

Funnybunnyfluff · 08/10/2019 10:32

@StephRae

Wow amazingly, I keep saying to my hubby look... feel... then baby doesn't do it as much...

I have to say when I say now i mean now lol I can't control the movement 😂.

peasando · 08/10/2019 12:07

Those pictures are amazing! I'm finishing up in a month, I'll be 34 weeks which seemed quite early when I planned it (I have lots of holidays left to use) but now it can't come quickly enough!! Dragging myself through each day...

Jowd92 · 08/10/2019 12:45

Wow those pics are amazing! My little boy does some serious wriggling about too now also anybody else's little one head down and low already ?
