Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

DH bought be this DreamGenii pillow and I love it.

www.dreamgenii.com/pregnancy-pillow/

Its has a small back support part and a thin part that goes underneath you, so you can still use normal pillows for your head.

I used to be a real wriggler when I was asleep but it definitely stops me moving around as much!

Funnybunnyfluff · 26/09/2019 14:05

Thank you for the link 😁!

Think this will suit me well xx

GrannyClanger · 26/09/2019 21:49

Hi all, haven’t been on for a while. I’m 28 weeks tomorrow. Hope pillows will help you with the aches and pains. I still can’t decide if I should get a pillow or not! Have been lucky and sleeping pretty well so far. I’ve got my nct classes starting next week, so will see how they go! Has anyone had measurements taken by the midwife yet? I had mine yesterday, and baby is measuring above 95th percentile! Confused

Funnybunnyfluff · 27/09/2019 08:32

@GrannyClanger

Iv bought the Dreamgenii one, should arrive today 😁.

I'm 28+1 today and have my midwife appointment so assume she will measure my bump today.

My NCT start week after next 👍🏻 eek I'm getting a bit scared that it's a bit real now lol

Nervousdave · 28/09/2019 10:07

Oooh @GrannyClanger I've been measured but not given percentile? Although I was measured 28cm at 28 weeks so was bang on expected so maybe they only do the percentile if you're over/under?
I'm 29+2 now and feeling a little whale-like 🐳

GrannyClanger · 30/09/2019 09:16

Did you get the measurement put onto your growth chart in your notes? That’s what I’ve got. Midwife didn’t seem too concerned about it, so I won’t be! I’ve got 40 working days left until mat leave, yay!

December2019 · 30/09/2019 09:40

I'll be having my first bump measurement on Wednesday at 28 +3 I'm not feeling very big at the minute, just uncomfortable
Anyone got any 4D scans booked or had any?

bespokepaininthearse · 30/09/2019 10:34

I don't have my 28 week app until next week and I am hoping I will be measured and see where I sit on the line then, am getting quite tired of the 'your huge' comments.

Anyone planning on breastfeeding or have breastfed previous babies? Am I am hoping I will be successful this time so any tips and advice would be great! I also have a nipple piercing since my last baby so am wondering do this will affect feeding in any way?

Funnybunnyfluff · 30/09/2019 11:06

I didn't even asked about the measurements she just said yes all good lol. Has 28 week scan baby roughly 2 pounds but was laying on side. She saw all the important bits so was happy.

It was plotted looks along the line 🤷‍♀️.

I'm hoping to get some tips about breast feeding on the NCT as there is a class for just the ladies on breastfeeding.

MsSquiz · 30/09/2019 15:46

@December2019 we went for a 4d scan on Thursday (28 week's bang on) but apparently little miss likes sleeping with her hands in front of her face or face first into my placenta! Hmm so we are going back in 2 weeks to try again.

Got my 28 week appt with the midwife tomorrow, which I think is for bloods and measure, but bloods may just be due to me being rhesus negative

Funnybunnyfluff · 30/09/2019 16:20

@MsSquiz

Aww sweet pic 😁.

They did my bloods at the hospital when I had to have the anti D inject. Have u had yours booked yet?

Had glucose on the same day, felt like a pin cushion afterwards.

MsSquiz · 30/09/2019 16:51

@Funnybunnyfluff I've got my anti d booked in for 15th Oct. I had an early anti d (around 11 weeks) when I had a small bleed.

I had the glucose test at the start of Sept. I guess having them on the same day gets it all over and done with though.

I'm hoping to breastfeed too, but haven't booked onto a specific class. The NCT classes clashed with DH's work so we've booked another course (recommend by DH's cousin) and it doesn't start until the beginning of November (finishes 10 days before my due date so hope she isn't early!)

Did you pillow arrive yet?

Funnybunnyfluff · 30/09/2019 23:37

@MsSquiz

Anti D is not pleasant is it, I had 2 last year after a MMC. Least I know what to expect.

Yes having glucose, anti d and scan on same day was like a holiday day trip. I did tell hubby I do know how to spoil a girl 😂.

Ah yes NCT are on random days lucky hubby should be able to do them all but has meant booking time off sadly.

pillow arrived, I like it first night I thought it made me uncomfortable but I think because it stops the freedom of movement but I'm liking it now 😁

NapsAndTea · 01/10/2019 22:34

Just had my first NCT group - I enjoyed it!! Wasn't too sure what to expect but think it'll be useful and even the husband didn't hate it!!

GrannyClanger · 02/10/2019 08:05

@NapsAndTea Went to ours last night and enjoyed it too! It was a pretty relaxed group so will look forward to the next one. My husband even enjoyed the relaxation bit at the end - I was surprised!

Comps83 · 02/10/2019 10:17

Ouch . Just been to midwife appt. found the whooping cough jab more painful than the anti d!

December2019 · 02/10/2019 10:33

I had my whooping cough, flu jab and anti-d one a day apart!
I couldn't move my arms 😂
Anyone else having period type cramps??
I'm having them quite intense today

Funnybunnyfluff · 02/10/2019 12:12

Ooo my NCT starts next Thursday 😁 looking forward to it. Hopefully make some mummy friends.

@December2019 Iv had pains when I walk more like a stitch feeling that comes then goes.

Aw thanks ladies I need to book my flu jab was meant to do it yesterday and forgot. Given me a prompt 👍🏻

Comps83 · 02/10/2019 18:09

What happens at the NCT groups? I had a look locally and all i could find was pregnant yoga etc.

starflake · 02/10/2019 19:40

Had my 28 week appointment today at docs. She said head is down & nice & low so she's getting ready to engage! She has been transverse right up to now & Saturday I knew she changed position as my god the pressure pains when I stand too long are intense. Has made it all so real, that she is getting ready to arrive.... I know she can swap back around positions but hearing the nice & low bit is great

AuntieJuice · 02/10/2019 21:47

Our NCT classes aren't for another month! We booked onto the session for mid-Dec to mid-Jan due dates on the basis that most first babies are on the later end of the due date window... But we're due 15 Dec.

NapsAndTea · 02/10/2019 21:57

@Comps83 we got to talk as a group about what we'd all like to learn more about (pregnancy and new babies) ... looked at stages of birth and when to call hospital... practised holding babies (dolls!). Each week she's going to add in some of the things we've asked to learn more about.

@AuntieJuice ours had quite a big span of when the babies were due - from 22nd Nov-7th Jan!

AuntieJuice · 03/10/2019 12:26

@NapsAndTea oh wow, that's pretty wide! Sounds like you have more classes too? Ours are two weekends and one evening over a two week span.

jpaws · 03/10/2019 13:08

Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing alright. Is anyone thinking about hospital bags yet? I keep looking as think I may as get a nice hold-all or something which I can use again but no idea really where to look or how big to go 🙈

NapsAndTea · 03/10/2019 13:36

@AuntieJuice yeh there are 4 weeks worth on a Tuesday evening, a Weds morning women's only session on breastfeeding (I won't be able to go because of work), a Saturday breastfeeding one and the final one on a Friday evening plus a reunion when the babies are all here!

I've also signed up to a confident birthing class which is meant to be a 6 hour course but I only seem to have one evening in for that so not sure if I've missed one 🙈
