Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

Has anyone bought good comfy maternity jeans 👖? Just realised I have summer clothes but no jeans 🙈

Jowd92 · 03/09/2019 13:03

@December2019 yes I have spd/pgp and sciatica down my right leg the pain in my hips is terrible if I've walked alot I'm in pair for the rest of the night even turning over in bed is so painful currently waiting for my physio appointment to come through hope it isnt too painful for you, I'm also looking for some nice maternity Jean's all the summer clothes are going out now and all the winter stuff is coming in

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 03/09/2019 13:06

@Funnybunnyfluff
I was the opposite I didn’t buy any maternity summer stuff because I figured it’s be over pretty quickly lol! Have two lovely comfy pairs of over-bump jeans from Mothercare in the sale! Honestly, so comfortable i’m Definitely wearing them post-pregnancy and maybe for odd large meal 😂!

NapsAndTea · 03/09/2019 14:45

I've had horrible sciatica which eased up over the summer holidays and is back now I'm back at work so going to ask for a referral 🙄

I got some jeans in the sale at H&M but they're already feeling a bit small by the end of a day or if I'm sitting a lot 🙈

peasando · 03/09/2019 15:30

I bought some new H&M jeans but they feel a bit tight round the legs and not that comfortable. I dug out an old pair of new look ones at the weekend and it's like night and day, they're so soft and comfortable!

My sickness seems to be back today 🙁 really struggling to get through the day at work.

AuntieJuice · 03/09/2019 18:45

I've inherited two pairs of new look over bump jeans from my sister, and they are pretty comfy though she wore them through two pregnancies so they're already pretty roomy 😁 got a new pair ordered from boohoo (as well as a bunch of other bits and pieces to top me up). My next challenge is comfy maternity tights... Do such things exist? My entire work wardrobe is based on black tights and boots so they're kind of critical...

NapsAndTea · 03/09/2019 18:58

@AuntieJuice I got some tights the other day from H&M that were okay. Got a large but could have done with a slightly longer leg - I've got quite long legs but only a 10-12 normally x

peasando · 03/09/2019 20:21

@AuntieJuice Next maternity tights are good - a bit pricey but really comfy and no chafing. I've bought a couple of them and some cheaper options and the Next ones are easily the best.

NapsAndTea · 03/09/2019 20:39

So after an appointment today I've been referred to an anaesthetist but looks like I'm very unlikely to be able to have an epidural or spinal ... which could be fine as long as I don't need a c-section 😩 the thought of general anaesthetic for it and then waking up with a baby is terrifying!

dollytutu · 03/09/2019 20:50

@NapsAndTea just epidural? Or spinal block also? I had a general due to failed epidural however with second had spinal block worked a treat! Why can't you have?

NapsAndTea · 03/09/2019 21:32

Probably spinal block too but hoping after meeting with the anaesthetist I'll know more. I had a full spinal fusion years ago so have 2metal rods from the top of my spine to the very bottom 🤖

Comps83 · 04/09/2019 12:08

Heard the heartbeat for the first time this morning
Just got back from mothercare , bought a big pillow, some maternity tights and bras , I’ve been buying most of my stuff from eBay but was struggling to find packs of tights so I forked out, I’ll let you know how they are
I’m looking forward to winter and baggy jumpers etc now

December2019 · 04/09/2019 12:55

@Comps83 awww it's wonderful hearing those little beats isn't it
I'm sooo exited for winter I love scarves and hats and snuggly new coats

Comps83 · 05/09/2019 18:37

Not too keen on the mothercare tights
Too tight around the groin but quite Norra Batty like around the ankles and behind the knees .

December2019 · 06/09/2019 07:51

@Comps83 aww that's a shame! I've been looking round for some new tights, I got myself lots of maternity leggings last week from new look (comfiest things ever) but I have chubby thighs and a chunky bum so I really find buying tights a problem they're always tight round the crotch and thighs 😂 it's not a good look on me

Jowd92 · 06/09/2019 10:07

Where Is everyone buying there baby clothes from I had some lovely baby grows yesterday from matalan I usually like George asda but theres hardly anything boys I find there is so much more choice for little girls really struggling to find some nice things

December2019 · 06/09/2019 10:49

@Jowd92 tk max is brilliant for little sleep-suit sets, and Asda too they do the multipacks, and I find the best socks are from peacocks they do packs of 5 for £3

Peachee · 06/09/2019 11:31

Has anyone found any unisex winter themed baby clothes??

Jowd92 · 06/09/2019 11:34

Thanks @december2019 I'll have a look at tk max and I also never thought of peacocks either I have noticed primark had some lovely little bits in recently

NapsAndTea · 06/09/2019 21:02

@Peachee haven't looked lately but before Next had lovely gender neutral stuff in 😊

Nervousdave · 08/09/2019 07:27

@December2019 which exact leggings have you got? I have bought 3 pairs online and returned them all because they were totally see through! My job is casual dress, we dress for comfort, so leggings and long tops are all I wear and I really want some over-bump ones... at the moment in surviving with primark cosy leggings, nice and cheap and soft, not see through at all, and work nicely as an under-bump option x

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 08/09/2019 07:58

Ladies, i’d love some advice:
Could I ask those of you who already have your prams/travel systems (or have bought some in the past) - did you go new or used?

I went to various places testing some out yesterday to see how easy they were to manoeuvre, put down, put up, different features, weight etc, and the ones i’ve Narrowed it down to are the Uppababy Vista and the iCandy Peach BUT these are both not far off £1,000 (including all the bits)! That seems like an obscene amount of money!

Looking on gumtree, preloved etc there are used ones but these are the versions that are 2/3/4 years old so they may not have the things that i’ve Tested and liked on the new models, so I might not like them. If that makes sense.

  1. Do I spend all that money? (Plus i have to get a car seat on top of that)
  2. Do I go secondhand and just make do with any niggles that I don’t like with older versions?
  3. Do I start looking again at completely different cheaper options?

Would love to hear your opinions/advice especially if you’ve got experience in this area 😊. Thank you 🙏

jpaws · 08/09/2019 08:38

@TTc2019BabyNo1 It’s a real minefield out there for prams/travel systems isn’t it! My mum and dad very kindly bought me mine and I went for the Oyster 3 luxury travel system. I really wanted new because this is my first baby and, if I only have one, I wanted to enjoy every aspect - not that I’m knocking second hand at all because by the sounds of it, some babies aren’t in things for very long anyway and if it’s been looked after well I don’t see the problem. Personal choice really. I agree the price of them is jaw dropping really, I had no idea until becoming pregnant just how expensive they were!!

dollytutu · 08/09/2019 08:58

@TTc2019BabyNo1 hi hun I have just bought a travel system with isofix car seat and the systems on offer at £499 currently it's called ickle bubba stomp v4 I got the black and gold one there's few different colours and you can also get the v2/3 which I believe is cheaper they are usually £649 so have a big discount at the minute and are a lovely system x

December2019 · 08/09/2019 08:58

@Nervousdave hey I got the over bump ones a size bigger than I normally would buy and mine aren't see through I think they come in a pack of 2 for about £14
They are so comfy and don't split in-between the crotch
