Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

@Funnybunnyfluff not yet 🙈

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 24/08/2019 12:10

@Funnybunnyfluff do you mean the letter to employer? Yes, I just wrote mine this week, will hand it in with my mat b1 form next week.
Yes I just looked at a few examples online and took relevant bits. I just said the date I wish to start maternity leave, how many days annual leave I have left and the date I wish to actually finish work. Then estimate date of returning to work. I don’t think you need to say much more than that. And you can change the dates as long as you give enough written notice :)

Funnybunnyfluff · 24/08/2019 14:47

Least I'm not behind then. I thought maybe I was a bit late in doing it.

Struggling with the heat today... and tomorrow's going to be even hotter 🥵 anyone else?!

Nervousdave · 24/08/2019 23:35

I didnt need to write a letter, my work has a form that my manager and I filled in, but that was basically what it said.
I'm dying in this heat, in a new house and the upstairs gets so warm!! We've kept all the windows upstairs open with the blinds drawn to keep the sun out and it's still a good 24C up here 🥵🥵🥵

NapsAndTea · 25/08/2019 10:40

@Nervousdave same - good insulation is lovely in the winter but the heat upstairs and in our kitchen is toooooo much!

GrannyClanger · 25/08/2019 11:17

I work in the same place as DH and he works in HR so think he has sent me a letter to use! Haha. Need to get my mat b1 form, but my midwife app has just been cancelled! Hopefully I can get another one within a few weeks. Not too hot where I am thankfully.

jpaws · 27/08/2019 12:01

Just checking in, how is everyone doing? I'm not at work today and thankful because it's quite warm. Also, got bitten about 7 times last night whilst round at my parents house for a BBQ and I'm trying my best to ignore the itchiness!!

Currently debating what to have for lunch Smile

December2019 · 27/08/2019 12:19

@jpaws hey there! I'm stuck in today my little one isn't dealing with the heat very well so gonna keep him in where it's cool... mmmm lunch!
I really want McDonald's today... I'm craving anything really bad! 😂
Ohh no to the itchiness, teatree oil works on bites takes the itch away

dollytutu · 27/08/2019 12:29

Hi new to the thread! Due 20/12/19!! With a little girl! Recently been diagnosed with spd and am signed off work waiting for physio app I'm a nurse at a busy a and e dept so would be impossible with these hips arm anyone with the same problem?? I also have had Cholestasis on my previous two preg and have started to itch bad over the weekend!! So awaiting the diagnosis of tht!!! Anyone with this?? Lol
Sort firm that how is everyone feeling???

Jowd92 · 27/08/2019 12:36

Hiya pretty sure I also have spd as my hips are terrible specially if I walk alot I'm in agony after it and when I get out of bed in a morning my lower back and my hips are painful hows everyone's bump coming along I still haven't put on any weight yet in fact since I've been pregnant I've lost half a stone not that I'm complaining haha

jpaws · 27/08/2019 12:41

Aww @December2019 hope for your little ones sake (and ours) it cools down a bit soon. I'll have to try the teetree oil too, thanks.

SPD doesn't sound like fun at all :(

And with regards to the weight gain - wow, I hate how much I seem to be putting on but people are telling me it's bump - I seem to be carrying in front rather than around. I'll just have to work at losing it afterwards so trying not to stress too much about it.

dollytutu · 27/08/2019 12:46

@Jowd92 I started in my left hip and if I walk for say 15/20 minutes I can't sleep tht night I'm I. Agony with it!
I had put on 4lb upto last week but this week I feel like my bump has shot out haha wasn't really showing before although I started slightly over weight with a bmi of 28! Have been doing sw but last few weeks haven't been bothering dredonv weigh in this week 😂😂😂😂

Jowd92 · 27/08/2019 13:09

I have it terrible but in my right hip I have a midwife appointment next week going to mention it to her as I can only imagine it's going to get worse i find sleeping on my sides so hard i usually sleep on my back or front so I'm really struggling also with my son who's 1 is still not sleeping through the night I might just have to give up on sleep once baby arrives lol

StephRae · 27/08/2019 15:27

Finally making progress with the baby’s room, was starting to tho k it would be ready on time but I’ve ordered several pieces of furniture and my sister is painting animals on wall to go with our wildlife theme since lucky for me she’s very good at art 😊

StephRae · 27/08/2019 15:28

How far has everyone gotten when it comes to buying baby stuff, I still think I have loads to buy!

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 27/08/2019 19:11

Spd doesn’t sound nice, I hope the pain eases and hope everyone is keeping well!
@StephRae wow you sound very organised! I’m so behind. Haven’t bought a single large item yet. Mainly because we were meant to be moving so holding off.
I’ve bought the odd small thing in the sales (clothes, wipes, blankets) but nothing else. To be honest I’m completely lost with all the different things we need! Lol!
On the plus side, my husband felt her kicking for the first time today 👍! She’s a lively one!
Hope everyone is well. Have your OH’s felt the movement yet? I have an anterior placenta so didn’t think he’d feel it for a while, I’ll be 23 weeks tomorrow.

jpaws · 27/08/2019 20:43

I’m 25 weeks tomorrow and so far my OH hasn’t felt baby move yet even with a posterior placenta, every time he tries baby seems to be sleeping lol.

Funnybunnyfluff · 27/08/2019 22:00

I'm 24 weeks Thursday and my baby goes crazy, hubby felt loads and only need to look at my belly and can see baby kick like mad.

Wakes me up at night kicking me. Very strange feeling as I wanted scans to check all ok but not baby moves loads that feeling has gone.

starflake · 28/08/2019 08:01

I was 23 weeks yesterday and last few days she's kicking like mad. DP finally felt her 2 days ago & he's delighted with himself. Full on hard kicks, that have finally moved from my pelvic area up to just under my belly button at side of bump. She's waking me up also @Funnybunnyfluff, I love it!

Jowd92 · 28/08/2019 10:11

I'm starting to worry and think something is not right I'm 22 weeks 3 days and I'm still only feeling light movement and still low down my son who is 1 now at this point with him I was feeling him move alot I hope everything is okay I will have to mention it to the midwife some days I dont really feel anything? Unless maybe I just have a lazy baby but when I had my 20 week scan she said baby was very active and wouldnt stop moving i think i just worry my self over this alot

GrannyClanger · 28/08/2019 19:23

23+5 here and just starting to feel a lot more kicks! Only started feeling movement over the last few days really Grin

@dollytutu welcome, we are due date buddies!

dollytutu · 28/08/2019 19:33

@GrannyClanger haha! That's fab! Although I'm expecting to deliver at 36 weeks latest due to Obstetric Cholestasis! So I'll be leaving you behind 😂😂😂

starflake · 28/08/2019 19:33

@Jowd92 till a few weeks ago I barely felt anything. I could go two days without a flicker of movement so I'd not worry just yet X

StephRae · 28/08/2019 21:13

I’m 22 weeks and my partner has felt the baby move but only slight atm.
