Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

@NapsAndTea Lovely scan photo! Glad it all went well. 😀 My baby was also not playing ball so I'm back on Thursday for a couple more images. Is it a sign of things to come?! Who knows😂

@StephRae Congratulations on your little girl! Glad it all went well! Can I just say you look fantastic in that picture as well. Such a gorgeous bump!

After all the indecision I am now the owner finally of a travel system
😂 I have the Silver Cross pioneer - I got it for a really good deal and am super pleased with it! One thing off my list! Not sure how I'm going to spend my time now I'm not incessantly googling prams though... 😂

StephRae · 13/08/2019 22:12

@spannerintheneck welcome! You’re due the day before me, hope your 20 week scan goes well. I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling great about your bump, I’m sure you look amazing and glowing.

@RLI1105 thank you so much!

StephRae · 13/08/2019 22:15

@RLI1105 I was literally thinking of getting a silver cross pioneer just the other day, they’re so expensive though. Would you say it’s worth the money?

RLI1105 · 13/08/2019 22:30

@StephRae I got mine second hand - I feel like I literally robbed the woman! I got the full travel system which includes the base, carrycot, pushchair seat, car seat, isofix and all the rain covers + cup holder for £300! She obviously wasn't a big walker as it looks barely used! There's not a mark on anything. She kept all the original packaging as well which was lovely. I'm not 100% on the car seat as if you're using a second hand one you need to rigorously check everything so may not use that but couldn't say no. It seems lovely to me - really light, super easy to collapse and connect/disconnect certain seats, steers well...The basket is huge underneath as well. My niece is only 4 weeks old so I plan on taking her for a spin in it to the park in the very near future.
I know second hand isn't for everyone but buying it new with all the gear comes to over a grand which we couldn't justify.
Very pleased so far though! When I've had my niece out in it I can give my final verdict but it seems great 👍

StephRae · 13/08/2019 23:35

I don’t mind spending a fair amount on something like that as we would use it a lot since my fiancé and I try to get out every chance we get, we love our exercise and nice strolls but a grand is a lot. The fact you got it for £300 is amazing! I’m jealous 😂

Comps83 · 14/08/2019 07:22

@RLI1105 we are buying stuff 2nd hand too
Just need to buy new mattresses etc . Been on look out for a bargain Pram but no luck yet
My grandma is mortified we are buying 2nd hand , her exact words ‘what’s the poor thing done to deserve that!’ But I don’t see the problem.

peasando · 14/08/2019 08:04

@spannerintheneck I could have written your post! My second too and almost certainly my last (barring any accidents), I've been determined to enjoy it but so so so tired and so busy running round after my son, I feel like it's just flying past and will be over before i know it. I've had a few comments about the size of my bump too - it does look big, but I had a midwife appointment yesterday and she said it was measuring just right so I'm going to try even harder to ignore the comments now!

VeryNewToAllThis · 14/08/2019 08:08

@RLI1105 and @StephRae this is the exact system we got!

Fell in love with it at a mother and care expectant baby event but they wanted £1450 for the full travel system! Came home and found it online for £800 on pramworld! Came two days later and it's gorgeous!

Eventually my husband will be taking baby on a 45 min walk to work each day (he's mad, I know! He does it every day come rain or shine!) so the big wheels and durability meant a lot to us!

It was an 11 piece bundle which came with pram, lie down flat basket and mattress (which is fully lie flat, and so well made it can be used as a Moses basket at the in-laws or on the go!), the toddler seat adapter, car seat, isofix base, changing bag and mat, rain covers for both the pram and car seat and a few more little clip on bits!

Honestly so easy to collapse too! Went out with a friend yesterday and she had a mammas and papas pram (unsure which one) that had a 3-stage fold. So glad I invested the extra to get a one fold system! Will be grateful for that on those cold / wet / snowy winter mornings of our maternity leave! Lol

Here's a few photos of pooh bear modelling it for you! 😂 x

@VeryNewToAllThis wow I love that pushchair I've gone for the icandy peach as a double with a toddler seat for my little man and the carry cot for when my little boy arrives I set it all up the other day to have a little try and I loved it!! Excited as and extremely nervous as I have my 20 week scan tomorrow I will be 20 +4 hopefully everything will be okay and although I had a private scan for the sex im going to ask again as some people have said my scan of the potty shot isnt a very clear boy I thought it was but I'm going to ask as everything is blue Haha! 😊

Comps83 · 14/08/2019 09:07

Wow I just weighed myself for 1st time since getting pregnant and I’m actually lighter than I was before hand!!!!! I honestly think that’s down to cutting out the booze as I’m certainly not cutting back on food

NapsAndTea · 14/08/2019 10:33

@VeryNewToAllThis love the Pooh Bear model!

@Jowd92 at our scan yesterday we told her we had found out but she didn't really check until I said "please tell me you saw a willy?!" And luckily she had haha 🙈

StephRae · 14/08/2019 10:43

Definitely making me still consider it despite the price since it comes with so much and it’s really good quality! I’ll see what prices I can find it for online.

VeryNewToAllThis · 14/08/2019 10:49

@NapsAndTea pooh bear was a gift for the baby from my sister and is HUGE! Going to be a teenager before they will be able to lift and carry pooh around 😂
He is, however, a fabulous model whenever I buy something new! 😂

@VeryNewToAllThis 😂😂

spannerintheneck · 14/08/2019 12:16

Peasando I'm glad I'm not alone! It's quite frustrating, I forgot people think they are allowed to comment on your size when pregnant, i am size 10 and knew I would show quicker with my second but still wasn't expecting it to be honest, I am trying so hard to embrace it!

Your all so organised already! We kept nothing first time around so we have to buy everything, so far we have bought the iCandy peach which I am in love with 😍 and a few other bits! Have only just started looking at the nursery...

Funnybunnyfluff · 14/08/2019 12:24

@VeryNewToAllThis

That's great info about the pram, I'm going to a mother care event tomorrow see what they have and can then shop around. We also walk a lot with our dog so need something with good wheels 😁

Iv bought nothing still at 22weeks tomorrow not even one outfit. 🙈!

I better start pulling my finger out I guess lol.

Funnybunnyfluff · 14/08/2019 18:21

@VeryNewToAllThis

Which pushchair system is that one? Xx

VeryNewToAllThis · 14/08/2019 19:21

@Funnybunnyfluff it's the Silver Cross Pioneer. We tested a few out in the shops and this one had the best, most solid wheels! Lots of other brands they were ones that could burst / wear down. Getting replacement wheels easily was also a factor for us due to all the walking that will be happening (she says, optimistically 😂)

Funnybunnyfluff · 14/08/2019 19:46

@VeryNewToAllThis

Thank you, I'm aside u actually said that in a post but I was being dumb and couldn't see it. We liked the look of that one also. My friends baby is due this week and she's gone for a silvercross just don't want to feel like I'm coping her lol even though she really won't mind lol. 🙈

peasando · 14/08/2019 20:53

@Funnybunnyfluff I wouldn't worry about copying people lol! Just get what suits you. We've got an Uppababy Cruz and I love it - still use it for my son sometimes, although he'll (hopefully) be going on a buggy board or his bike when this one comes along. But most of my friends seem to have either the Cruz or the Uppababy Vista - I didn't realise when I bought it that it was so popular in this area! So we all look like copycats 😂

Jowd92 · 15/08/2019 07:09

Its scan day finally! feel so nervous I've hardly slept all night doesn't help having a poorly little man also tho 😔 but I cant wait to see my little one again fingers crossed all is well 🤞

Notrobusta · 15/08/2019 08:02

A thought for those buying expensive pranks. We are having our 4th baby in December and from previous experience found that we moved to a stroller very quickly. We have the silver cross pop stroller which can be used from newborn. This time we have bought a pram second hand for £30 which is a Mothercare one and will be fine for the 6 months max we use it. I would say pay the extra money for a better car seat or save it for the next car seat you will need . We have a joie 360 spin and it has been worth its weight in gold. For those who walk dogs etc I found wearing the baby far easier than trying to push a pram and manage a dog in a lead .

Notrobusta · 15/08/2019 08:02

Prams not pranks sorry stupid phone

starflake · 15/08/2019 08:32

We got a mountain buggy, was 420 euro in a sale from 500. I'm in a costal area with lots of wooded areas for walking so needed a buggy to match our needs & somebody on here recommended this buggy, went to see it & fell in love with it!
We have nearly everything now for her arrival. Aldi have their baby event today so popping in there this morning to grab a few extra bits & then I'm going to stop buying till she's born.we have all our major stuff that we will need coming home.
Good luck today @Jowd92, hope all goes well X
Congrats to all with the lively scans.... It's great to see them

spannerintheneck · 15/08/2019 10:18

@Jowd92 good luck with your scan today! Are you finding out if it's pink or blue? Mine is tomorrow and we won't be finding out so I have to stay strong!!
