Realised we need another thread as the other one reached 1000!

Glad to hear scans went well today.

Who else is waiting for their harmony results now? I am hoping to get them in the next few days! But I suspect Friday at the earliest and probably next week Monday! I had the bloods taken for it Thursday morning.

You can pick up some cool novelty stuff in tk maxx

StephRae · 11/08/2019 11:25

Hi guys, I’m a bit late to this chat but I’m due Dec 29th so just after Christmas. I’m finding out what I’m having in a few days so that’s super exciting! How far along is everyone else?

Funnybunnyfluff · 11/08/2019 12:15

@Comps83

Probably why I have not bought anything yet 😂! What u been looking at ?

Will head to primark and Tkmax 😁.

@StephRae welcome, I'm due 19th Dec

Comps83 · 11/08/2019 12:18

We went to mothercare and mamas and papas yday. Of course I loved the most expensive one in mamas and papas.
Im wanting one which comes with a car seat
Looking at £300 absolute minimum

Funnybunnyfluff · 11/08/2019 12:24

Are the comparable mothercare and mother's and papas?

Think I will go for the maxi cosi pebble plus car seat. Still not confirmed.

I'm going to mothercare evening this week to drain some knowledge and learn about baby first aid. Be interesting to see what they try and sell us 😂

jpaws · 11/08/2019 12:35

@funnybunnyfluff ... pretty sure I end up smiling too ... might not when baby is bigger and properly kicking!

@StephRae hi, it's exciting finding out! I'm due 11th December :)

@Comps83 the price of prams/travel systems are mad! Fortunately my mum and dad have bought mine for me.

I ended up with the babystyle oyster 3 travel system. Just need to let them know when I want to pick it up but will be leaving it for a while yet.

Jowd92 · 11/08/2019 14:30

@stephrae hiya my due date is also 29th december I already know I'm having a little boy as I had a gender scan at just over 16weeks but I have my next scan on Thursday so excited to see my little one againGrin

bobble53 · 11/08/2019 14:45

We’ve gone for the iCandy lime which was £500 special price at John Lewis and I absolutely love it! We’ve got the cabriofix maxi cosy car seat and isofix adapter.

StephRae · 11/08/2019 14:50

Yes it is super exciting, I could’ve found out sooner but I went on holiday for a few weeks. My fiancé felt the baby move for the first time this morning! Until recently I’d only felt little flutters but the movement is finally increasing now 😊

NapsAndTea · 11/08/2019 18:14

@Comps83 what does the pram do for that much money?!😮

@StephRae welcome! I'm due 27th - we have 20week scan on Tuesday. Can't wait but always get nervous!

I think we've definitely had movement especially in the evenings when I'm sat back still or laid reading in bed. Managed to get the husband to feel one the other day which made it feel more real!

Comps83 · 11/08/2019 21:33

@NapsAndTea time travel you would hope. I text a friend about it last night and she said oh yeah that’s what mine cost but we used it for 2 years so it was worth it. She blatantly has too much money

December2019 · 12/08/2019 07:36

@Comps83 wow that is expensive! Last year I got the silver cross Chelsea limited edition travel system (my mum paid £900) in the sale too and honestly it's full of crumbs, suncream and milk now... I wish I'd have gone for something cheaper because once baby comes out of the bassinet bit they are such messy little monkeys 😂

I wish it could time travel! I'd fast forward to Christmas it feels like I've been pregnant forever my little boy was only 3 months when I found out I was expecting number 2 😊

RLI1105 · 12/08/2019 18:00

I'm enjoying reading everyone's thoughts on prams although I am still hopelessly confused!!!

My main debate at the moment is travel system vs just pram and car seat.
I have been tempted by the baby jogger with carrycot insert for at first. My sister in law had the iCandy peach for her first and said she wished she'd had the baby jogger (she got a double now she has 2 babies) as it was so easy to collapse etc. and the peach was pretty heavy.

I change my mind all the time. The travel system is tempting as it'll be winter and if it's wet and freezing I'll want to nip places in the car.

And don't get me started on all the brands! You read all the reviews and then there's always one 1 star and someone saying it was the worst thing ever and then that's you! 😭

I'd love to hear people's thoughts who already have children - is the travel system worth it?

December2019 · 12/08/2019 18:41

@RLI1105 I got the travel system and it was brilliant, especially because December last year was miserable and raining most of the time so it was quicker just to clip the car seat on the pram chassis and off you go... I would make sure you get a car seat rain cover though, I had to go out most days (mainly for more pads) one thing I'll suggest though when you think you have bought enough pads for after baby is born get more you will never have enough lol

NapsAndTea · 12/08/2019 18:46

@RLI1105 I haven't gone for a travel system - I know there are times it'd be beneficial but the pram I've got is from birth-15kg so should last until he's out of it. I know car seats generally need changing anyway. I was put off the travel system after a physical development course I was on for early years but I can definitely see the upside of them!

NapsAndTea · 12/08/2019 22:22

How low down do you all feel movement?

jpaws · 13/08/2019 06:04

I’d say just above my bikini line. Feels pretty low!

1990carey · 13/08/2019 07:12

@NapsAndTea I feel movements all over now, it originally was low down, just above bikini line but she moves so much and so hard all over the place now!

Pram wise I went for the mothercare journey travel system. Got it at such a fantastic price, reduced from 400, to 199!! Comes with a car seat and goes up to 3 years old! I got it in a fig colour. It was a gift from my mum and I honnestly couldn't be happier with it! Its sitting in its box in the corner of my bedroom, I don't think well set it up till a couple weeks before shes due.

Jowd92 · 13/08/2019 08:27

I had the mothercare journey travel system for my little boy in the cobalt blue I'm still currently using it but I have gone for the icandy peach double with main seat and carry cot and I cant wait to use it! I'm still feeling my movement low down just above bikini line too

NapsAndTea · 13/08/2019 15:37

20 week scan went well but he wasn't being very cooperative 🙈
Let's hope that's not a sign of things to come haha!

Christmas babies part 2
StephRae · 13/08/2019 16:38

About to go to my 20 week scan and find out what I’m having! Although I don’t think it’s very accurate family keep guessing what I’m having based on my bump so any of you have some last minute guesses? 💕

NapsAndTea · 13/08/2019 17:47

@StephRae girl?! I've got a 50/50 chance 😂

StephRae · 13/08/2019 17:59

And you were right 😂 yes, I’m having a girl and she’s perfectly healthy 💕💕

Funnybunnyfluff · 13/08/2019 18:40

Great scan pic @NapsAndTea
& congratulations on a girl @StephRae

spannerintheneck · 13/08/2019 21:52

👋 can I join? Due my second on 28th December and have my 20 week scan on Friday! We are not finding out but still very excited to see baby, have been feeling lots of little movements already but seem to have completely forgotten a lot of things about pregnancy, for instance, I am so so tired all the time! I was determined to enjoy this pregnancy more as it's likely my last but I am paranoid about the size of my bump already, anyone else feel the same? I desperately want to be proud of my bump but a few comments on how 'large' I am already has put a dampener on things for me
