Crikey. I'm mega-early, but did a Clearblue early detection test today and here I am! Hopefully some more folk will join me soon.
Second baby for me, already have DS who is 4. Feel like I've forgotten everything tho!
Eeeeeeek!

Good morning, tentatively stepping in. had two bfps on internet cheapies this morning... at cd 41 and period 7 days late. had negatives all the way upto today. I wa so convinced i was out this week i’m in shock. been drinking last night and worked a morning the x-ray room at work earlier in the week (with lead protection) feeling happy but confused and a bit foolish. I just have ovulated an entire week late 🤦‍♀️ x

K4t1 · 15/06/2019 19:32

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining, my sister recommended this site😊 I'm currently just under 7 weeks pregnant with my first baby. We've been trying for nearly 2 years. I've had nausea and sore boobs, some spotting which lasted 2 days but is thankfully finished for the time being. Lovely to meet you all!

ronniemipperton · 15/06/2019 21:54

Welcome everybody! Hope everyone’s doing well and coping with symptoms - or lack of symptoms.

I’ve been a bit all over the place this week, lurching from “argh I don’t feel pregnant anymore” to “urgh I feel terrible” - no proper nausea though, just queasiness really (and a Lot of sleeping, didn’t get out of bed till 11am today and still had to have a nap - don’t know how people who already have little ones do it!)

I thought about seeing if I could get referred for an early reassurance scan at the EPU as I’ve had two miscarriages in the last year, but I’m thinking I might just pay for a private scan just before my booking appointment - otherwise I know it’ll be hours spent in EPU with lots of happily pregnant women and couples while I panic about the scan, whereas with a private one at least it’ll be over quickly. I’ve been saving while ttc to make sure we have enough to get by while on mat leave, and it’s taken so long I’ve got enough that dipping into it for a scan won’t hurt.

My booking appt is 1 July when I’ll be 8w, so thinking I’ll book for an early scan a couple of days before - otherwise I know I’ll be fretting that something’s gone wrong throughout the whole booking appt.

Sorry if I sound mega negative/pessimistic - hard to keep these thoughts away after MC!

ivyleaf4 · 16/06/2019 18:36

@ronniemipperton I feel exactly the same, and like you I have also had two miscarriages in the past year. It's tough isn't it. I swing between feeling really positive and optimistic, and completely depressed and thinking it won't work out. I wish there was some way to let go and feel less anxious about it all.

ronniemipperton · 16/06/2019 19:57

Thanks @ivyleaf4, and sorry to hear about your losses. I’ve noticed a lot of us on the Feb threads seem to have gone through the same thing, which is depressing but there’s some comfort in knowing we’re not alone. Hopefully we’ve more than accounted for the 1 in 4 stat and things will go smoothly for everyone expecting in Feb!

broodymamma · 16/06/2019 22:37

I have sent you a PM to join the fb group.
Thanxs

ivyleaf4 · 17/06/2019 09:14

Thanks @ronniemipperton and sorry to be such a downer! You're right that the odds are on our side now we have made it this far Smile

Plenty of morning sickness this morning too which was reassuring, although not sure how I will get through work today. Careful what you wish for I guess?!

Bilsonate · 17/06/2019 19:59

I was thinking about a private scan too although I read that there's not much point before 8 weeks as they wont necessarily be able to see a heartbeat because it's so small?
I dont even know why I want one - I dont really feel that anxious and thankfully I don't have a history of MC but I'm so impatient and just want to know everything is ok, esp as I'm an old bird.
And I'm still hideously sick and so tired its ridiculous! I nearly fell asleep at my desk today!

tisonlymeagain · 17/06/2019 20:04

A heartbeat should be visible from 6-7 weeks @Bilsonate but not always, so I think if you're going to book one and it's for reassurance 8 weeks is a good time.

I'm having one at 7+1 and the sister on the ward told me there should be an embryo and heartbeat there. (I had a scan at 5+4 and all you could see was the yolk sac)

Rach031 · 17/06/2019 22:16

Hi all can I join? I’m currently 6 weeks 3 days and my app says I should be due around 7th feb this is my first pregnancy I’m 32 it’s taken me 18months to get my bfp I am anxious as I don’t want anything to go wrong! I’m booked in at the docs on the 24th and I’ve done a referral form for the midwife...goodluck to everyone! Could I join the Facebook group please? X

cloudy01 · 17/06/2019 22:18

Ladies, don't know if this is helpful but I've just made a link between pregnacare and the awful sickness I've been experiencing... posting this incase anyone else has the same - saw the midwife today and she suggested I ditch it and instead just take folic acid and vit D.
Also so sorry to hear about those of you experiencing MC, thoughts are with you x

Goldie1234 · 18/06/2019 06:31

Hi everyone and congratulations! (also sorry to those who are having a tough time of it or the pregnancies haven't stuck)

Hoping to join as I've just found out I'm pregnant with baby number 2! It's a HUGE shock as baby number 1 is IVF so we didn't think we could conceive naturally... She's only 14months and I'm terrified!! Feels like she's still a baby, not sure how I'll cope with 2 babies! But I've seen there are smaller gaps in this group already so I'll be on you guys for advice!!!
My first pregnancy (natural) ended in a MMC at 3 months so very wary of this first trimester! Will be trying to go for lots of early scans.

Would love to join the Facebook group too! I'll send a little message.

Think I'm due towards the end of Feb!
XxX

Givealittlebit · 18/06/2019 22:18

👋 hi to all the newcomers, and congratulations!

Has anyone had their booking in appointment yet? Got mine tomorrow, can barely remember it from my first but don't remember it being very exciting!

ECPCR2 · 20/06/2019 11:06

@givealittlebit I had mine last week - just lots of past medical history and family history. Repetition of advice from GP on what to avoid eating. Blood and urine samples taken.

The midwife that did mine is convinced I'm 18w+ though as that's what I'd be based on LMP but I had multiple BFNs after that and symptoms only started far more recently. But have got a scan booked for tomorrow to confirm for certain which should get me back into the right part of the process/visit schedule! I did have a private scan the day after the booking apt as I was desperate to know a bit more, but that put me bang on 6w with no heartbeat detected yet. Midwife had already said they would want an NHS one rather than trusting private so I'm hoping an extra 7 days of baking this little biscuit will bring some better news/sounds but can't help driving myself mad with worry.

On the subject of which... Does morning sickness come and go? I was suffering more and more over the weekend and it was horrendous on Monday (doesn't help that I'm pretty emetophobic anyway). Yesterday however I felt pretty much normal again. I'm panicking that this means the baby has stopped growing or something is wrong. But the sensible part of my head says I'm just dealing/planning better (having a cracker as soon as I wake up, eating little and often especially in the morning). Is this normal? There's no way I could cope for weeks (let along months) like I was on Monday, but I so desperately want this baby I don't want to wish away both the sickness and by proxy pregnancy...

ECPCR2 · 20/06/2019 11:07

Ahhh sorry I did it lots of paragraphs in that epic post, but submitting from the app seems to delete them half the time!

Givealittlebit · 20/06/2019 15:43

@ECPCR2 my midwife appointment was so pointless! They literally did my height and weight and then are doing everything else at a whole visit they've booked for next Tuesday 🤷🏻‍♀️ seems a bit of a waste of time but there we go!

Struggling this week with the sickness! Was very glad to be working from home yesterday, not sure I'll make it in tomorrow if I don't feel better!

CritterPants · 20/06/2019 20:58

Hello lovely ladies, can I join? Smile Due date calculator says I'm due on 23 February.
This is my 4th and last baby but will be my 3rd living child (DS1 died due to birth complications on the evening of the day he was born). My DS2 is 4 and DS3 is 1, and all of them were IVF (as is this baby!)...there have been 3 chemicals and a MC along the road too. So a lot of sadness but also a lot of joy on this journey! Smile
May I also join the Facebook group?

star1980 · 22/06/2019 16:30

Welcome @CritterPants @Goldie1234 @Rach031 and any other newbies 😊 congratulations!

@Critter so sorry to read your sad history, you’ve had a very tough journey Flowers

So I ended up at the EPU yesterday via A&E. Went to the GP as was feeling sick, dizzy and weak and had diarrhoea. He thought it was just a stomach bug but wanted to rule out ectopic because of the diarrhoea (didn’t know that was a symptom Confused) Anyway EPU scanned me, I’m measuring a week ahead at 8+1 with a strong heartbeat. Starting to feel real now!

How’s everyone getting on? X

fluffybottom · 23/06/2019 11:18

Hello all, please can I join.

I'm almost 5 weeks with a due date calculated as 24th Feb. We are very excited about it being a leap year!

This is my first and I'm totally in shock as we conceived on our first try. I was convinced it was going to take months. Got an appointment to see my GP on Weds and will make my midwife appointment for the following week. I'm hoping to have an earlier scan as we are on holiday 11-12 weeks and I'm feeling really quite anxious about everything.

I've told my 3 closest work friends as I've been feeling dizzy and sick at work and need a bit of support. They're all 10+ years older than me with children so they've been so lovely giving me advice and checking up on me.

Looking forward to hearing all your stories and fingers crossed for happy, healthy pregnancies!

Meowandchoppychops · 23/06/2019 17:46

Hello! Found out I am pregnant on fathers day 😊 due 22nd Feb, but not seen a midwife yet as my trust makes you do an self referral online directly to the midwifes, did that on Thursday and still not heard from them. Last time I just rang my GP. All feels a bit surreal, I have a healed DR from last time but my tummy has really popped and I am only about 4-5 weeks in.
Congratulations everyone!

Meowandchoppychops · 23/06/2019 17:51

Forgot to add can I join the FB group please?

wishmeluck16 · 24/06/2019 10:54

Hi everyone, can i tentatively join?

After two back to back chemicals, I am here on 14dpo with a positive (or a few as i am self confessed full blown addict).

do you guys feel the lines are dark enough this time? It is an IVF pregnancy so the numbers in the photo are days past embryo transfer. today is the bottom one.

Also had a 1-2 week digital clear blue positive on 11dpo.

February 2020
Givealittlebit · 24/06/2019 12:47

@wishmeluck16 those lines are definitely getting darker! Congratulations!

wishmeluck16 · 24/06/2019 14:04

@givealittlebit yes i am happy with the progression and I am going to stop testing now until 17dpo when the clinic want me to test !

Meowandchoppychops · 25/06/2019 22:17

@wishmeluck16 your lines are darker than mine. Might use my last test tomorrow to see how much darker mine will be.
