My goodness what a chatty bunch you were last night! I'm supposed to be working but instead I've had to spend the first half-hour of my day catching up on everyone's posts!

Rode my bike to work today since it's so lovely and sunny, but it's supposed to rain later so I may regret it.

As for the maternity trousers thing - I haven't actually got any proper ones yet (they always just seem to fall down on me anyway, no matter how big my bump is) but I went mad on eBay last week buying lots and lots of trousers and cropped trousers with elasticated waists and/or drawstrings. Not as drastic as maternity wear but oh so comfortable! Luckily I can dress as casual as I like for work.

Morning to you all!
lots of laughs at talks of constipation, moths and chocolate raisins! Brilliant!
I'm knackered today - can barely keep my eyes open, but have made a promise to myself to actually get motivated and do some work in the office today.
Hope you all have fabulous days, and long may the positive vibes continue!
PS - if anyone gets the time and the inclindation to redo the board stats for March again, i'm due march 13th.
xx

c4it · 02/08/2007 09:50

Another tip on the prune juice/constipation thing - if you don't like the taste, try mixing it with apple juice. Did this with my DD as she was really constipated, poor love and it worked a treat.

For all you sushi lovers, have you tried vegetarian sushi? Pret, in particular do a nice one. Don't know how it compares to the real thing (being vegie ) but it is fine for pg girlies and might fill the gap.

HolidaysQueen · 02/08/2007 10:23

merryberry - your reading material made me laugh out loud (which caused a few stares as i'm in the office!). it also made me realise that I am completely addicted to Ian Rankin novels at the mo beyond any normal sort of book addiction - I normally read a lot of murder stories anyway, but with these I've got the next one by my side so that when I've finished I can pick up a new story and dive straight in... Waterstones is making a fortune from me (can't run the risk of an Amazon delivery getting lost and me being without a book)! I'm very nervous though as I only have 4 left so next week I'll be looking for new gory reading matter...

I'm eating cake today and as with the chocolate raisins trying to convince myself that this cake is slightly healthy as it has little bits of orange zest in it...

Isn't it funny how easily we can all swing from negative to positive moods... I think I'm beginning to understand what being hormonal really means!

Hope you all have a happy day

imjin100 · 02/08/2007 10:28

morning all, it's taken me ages to catch up on the news - it would seem we all have moth issues (although as yet my ears are clear!) I have been recommeded rentokil moth spray....sprayed house yesterday and managed a whole 40 minutes watching heros without dh leaping into air so perhaps it has worked....or perhaps it was actually because he'd been to the pub and had a few ciders so wasn't taking much notice of anything!!
I am continuing the positve vibes today, I've just been for an early scan. My hospital are fab and had booked me in due to a few problems early on. Anyone can rock up and have one...which is a serious bonus I think. Sorry to all those who can't get one though - perhaps my enthusiasm is a little unfair. Anyway - 9weeks 5 days and all looking good. We're off on holiday on saturday so lovely to go knowing all is well, and of course justifies the massive amount of food I intend to inhale....

Great days to all, positive vibes and hugs to all who need and hurray for stretchy dresses!

imjin100 · 02/08/2007 10:37

is this right?
Also I read somewhere about there being a limit of number of messages...no idea how many or what happens next but lots of you seem to be pro's so will you take charge of us new kids on the block.

Can you add me to the list. I'm due March 2.

Feeling better today, though have eaten a lot so far. Had two slices of toast and a smoothie before I left home, then was hungry again when I got to work so had a bowl of fruit and fibre. Trying to get my bowel moving you see...

Will prob be hungry again soon. It never ends.

imjin100 · 02/08/2007 11:07

Sorry about that. I hadn't looked very far back and hadn't actually checked. I hope this is right but of course anyone can add details or info I think.

The list is getting really long now. I think the thread stops working when it gets near to 1000 messages. Thats what I've seen from other people. Maybe after everyone has had their 21/22 wek scan we can have a thread that is purely for stats, we can include what flavour (pink, blue, elephant, watermelon )and updated due dates. What does everyone think. It can then flow into show when we have given birth.

papaya · 02/08/2007 11:55

oooops!

preggersagain · 02/08/2007 11:58

hey timmy have you got any choccy raisins left? they've run out over the road!

imjin100 · 02/08/2007 12:05

papaya I'm also having terrible dreams, so vivid. I woke up last night and tried to force DH to check if there was someone in the room - he's trying hard to humour me but really - 7 more months of this and even his patience could be tried...
twiglet anyone, just bought massive bag, they work a treat and of course they are almost low fat..>(or not!)

timmyinatizzy · 02/08/2007 12:07

Sorry preggers none left here either. Just thinking what to have for lunch. Really want a toasted brie and bacon sarnie . I am missing them like crazy.

preggersagain · 02/08/2007 12:14

i wanted a salad with blue cheese dressing last night but the chef (dh) wouldn't oblige!

imjin100 · 02/08/2007 13:21

totally uninspired by lunch, maybe because i've eaten so many twiglets....however timmyinatizzy - you've made me want one too! Blow.

yardette · 02/08/2007 13:22

Imjin - fab news about your scan! Have a great holiday!
Waving at all of you and the general festival air now permeating this board. Just reading down the board to a few days ago makes me smile at how quickly our collective mood can change!
Feel sick today. Not ms. Just something to do with the amount of food I'm throwing down my piggy face. I'm definitely going to be in maternity clothes very soon!!
Anyone else finding concentrating at work hard? I'm finding this particularly because I haven't told anyone at work yet (and don't plan to until after the scan).

merryberry · 02/08/2007 13:23

i wonder if we'll have any twins? i think feb 2008 have already got 3 sets, so they probably have our quota!

Hi I am new to this thread and mums net, but have been reading all about you for the last week as a way of maybe seeking reassurance for my position. Congratulations to all of you!!!
I am due end of March-ish, but don't want to tempt fate by looking too far into the date as I will start planning my life around it. So here goes with my story, I'd appreciate any thoughts / comments from others that might have been through the same. I had some spotting (brown - ewww sorry!) on monday 23rd July - went to the docs and was referred for an early scan at EPU when I was 6 weeks which was last Sat - 28th. Had my scan on Monday morning, but I was told it was too early to see anything - just a sac that looked pretty empty. The docs wouldn't do HCG testing, so now I have to wait until next Tuesday for another scan. The wait is killing me!! Had a tiny bit more brown stuff on one occasion since, but no pain cramps etc. I am totally paranoid that all is not well following a missed miscarriage in Feb this year which I found out about at the 12 week scan . Anyone had similar, or can reassure me that this can be normal...? Also I know I didn't conceive on day 14, more like 21, so development could be a little behind what the docs expect to see. Don't want to lower the mood, as you're all so happy today, but had to get this off my chest!! Oh - signs - slightly sick, but this could be the worry - peeing at 3am! Thanks!

3madboys · 02/08/2007 13:29

wow lots to catch up on, how much chatting have you ladies been doing?

i am ok, dp is having to do loads of extra shifts at work at the mo, which is a pita as i feel crap, i have some crystallised ginger to try and help the sickness but i cant even cope with the smell of that at the mo...

luckily when i got up today i discovered that dp had made sandwiches etc and put them in the fridge for lunch and he has made a huge pan of butternut squash soup, so i just have to reheat that for dinner bless i am amazed but he knows how pukey i get when preparing food.

3madboys · 02/08/2007 13:41

sorry missed your post paranoid, i think we cross posted

anyway i hope that all is well and the wait must be awful but as you havent had further bleeding or cramps then hopefully that is a good sing. will be thinking of you and hope the scan goes well xxxx

imjin100 · 02/08/2007 13:53

Paranoidwreck, as you'll know from reading through we are all going through phases of extreme happiness to total paranoia. Unfortunatley we've all discovered there isn't an easy answer but somehow we have to learn to relax and know that what will be will be. Goodness it's hard and I'm not the expert but sending you positive and relaxing vibes in the hope that you'll somehow manage to get through till next week. You can always post on here and off-load, I've certainly done a bit of that.
3madboys hope you feel better soon, sounds rotten and don't envy you that. Even the sound of crystallised ginger makes me gag!!

c4it · 02/08/2007 13:57

Have any of you tried a piece of fresh ginger in hot water (drink either hot or after cooled)? I found that quite helpful

merryberry · 02/08/2007 14:07

YES YES YESSSSSS!!!! I've just been given a bar of dark GINGER chocolate! Why did I never think of that?

So here I go upstairs with lumps of choc and a history of the Rape of Nanking (see lurid previous post) for a nap
