Morning everyone
Looking at signing up for a prenatal yoga or Pilates class. Any experience or thoughts on this?

I've done yoga before but probably a dozen times so am not an expert by any means. No experience of Pilates.

The yoga class is in a very convenient location, which is drawing me to it! But a friend mentioned previously that she thought Pilates was the best option to support your body during pregnancy.

Thanks!

PickledEgg89 · 02/06/2019 13:34

@agteacht I started pregnancy yoga at around 30 weeks last time. I really enjoyed it, no experience with plates but my favourite part about the yoga was the mini nap on the floor at the end 😂

PickledEgg89 · 02/06/2019 13:34

Pilates not plates. Stupid autocorrect 🤦‍♀️

Albgo · 02/06/2019 14:32

@Sweetpeace - are you one of the admin for the fb group? I sent an email the other day and just wondered if it had gone to the junk box. x

lovebeingmum9 · 02/06/2019 18:57

hi all hope everyone's ok and enjoying the lovely weather! had my scan today and it was amazing....ive been put forward 5 days so my edd is now 3rd of dec. was so lovely to finally tell our 3 children I'm pregnant and they was over the moon Smile because I'm a newbie I can't post the pic yet but even this early it's clear to see it's a boy lol x

agteacht · 02/06/2019 20:57

Thanks @PickledEgg89 - the nap does sound tempting...

@lovebeingmum9 congrats!! Isn't it nice to gain a few days too. I'm sure your kids are delighted

Starrynights86 · 02/06/2019 22:12

@agteacht @pickledegg89 didn’t do yoga or Pilates but I really enjoyed swimming last time, especially towards the end, and doing preggo lady exercise classes at the pool. Also pregnancy massage. Not exercise but made my aches and pains much better!

@lovebeingmum9 my 12 week scan is tomorrow and I can’t wait! How did you tell your other children?

PickledEgg89 · 02/06/2019 22:18

@starrynights86 ooh I definitely like the sound of the pregnancy massage, this is #4 and I've yet to experience one. I'm bloody determined to get one or two this time around 😂😂
Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Mines is on the 11th, can't come quick enough!!

Starrynights86 · 02/06/2019 22:36

@pickledegg89 it’s so good, and the table has a special cut out for your tummy and it’s so nice to just be able to lie down and not feel super uncomfortable.

agteacht · 02/06/2019 22:55

Ooh good luck with your scan tomorrow @Starrynights86

Actually went swimming on Saturday in the Olympic pool in Stratford. Was hoping I might manage a swim once a week and yoga or Pilates but I might be being too ambitious! I'm great at starting stuff just not keeping it up!!

Pregnancy massage sounds amazing, do you do it from a certain point in your pregnancy?

Starrynights86 · 03/06/2019 01:54

@agteacht I did a package from 18 weeks, started off monthly then fortnightly then weekly for the last three weeks.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 03/06/2019 08:09

Morning everyone, thanks again for all your kind words last week. I have however come for a moan.
I'm already having a lot of pain from my pelvis and the dr agreed that it was pregnancy related, she wrote me a letter for my work so I would be allowed to park in the office car park and get my workstation properly assessed. They have done nothing. They don't seem bothered at all! Add on top of that that I keep waking myself up several times a night with the pain and I am just a delight this morning! Had to fork out for the train to work because I was afraid I'd dose off at the wheel, turns out the train is £9! No wonder I usually drive!
Anyway rant over, hope everyone has a better Monday than me.

lovebeingmum9 · 03/06/2019 09:14

Thanks @agteacht and good luck for today @starrynights86 our due dates must be quite close! well the kids thought I was going in hospital for a routine check-up/bloodtest and when I came out I said to the kids that there's a reason mummy has been quite sick lately....and I got out the scan pics and said we're going to have a baby! they were so happy....they are 7,5 and 2 so it was a really magical moment Smile

lovebeingmum9 · 03/06/2019 09:18

lovebeingmum9 · 03/06/2019 14:05

haha now that's boys for you! 😂 aw brilliant not long now I bet your excited! do you have a gut feeling this time? I just knew too, think the cravings were right with mine as with our daughter it was cookie dough ice cream, our 2nd a son was big Macs,3rd a son salt and vinegar crisps and this time has been meat...all very healthy lol

December2019 · 03/06/2019 14:22

@lovebeingmum9 I haven't got a clue this time, my craving with my boy was mars bars, this time it's salt & vinegar chipsticks 😂
Haha meat isn't too bad! I've gone off meat though, my next door neighbor just brought round a massive platter tray of pork from a hog roast she went to yesterday for my dogs and I can't touch it 😂
Gonna wait for my OH to finish work and he can dish it out for them
Yeah I'm so exited I just want to get my 12 week scan out the way so I can relax a bit lol

lovebeingmum9 · 03/06/2019 14:33

December2019 · 03/06/2019 14:38
