Were gonna find out what were having, the way I see it, it's a suprise either way? Just one way you find out sooner. My next scan is on the 17th of July, so that's when well find out and its near my birthday so will be a early birthday surprise for me! Were not gonna do a gender reveal but we are gonna do something special for the kiddys to find out.

MrsS7 · 30/05/2019 09:33

I'm not going to find out, and thankfully DH is on the same page :) I don't really have a feeling either way yet but lots of people are guessing girl... so that probably means a boy haha

codenameduchess · 30/05/2019 10:11

I was going to find out, but had no string feelings. Now dh has decided he wants a surprise again so I guess we're waiting. I'm not bothered either way, although dh and dd have been vocal about hoping for a girl.

Everyone we've told so far says boy, based entirely on we had a girl last time so it must be a boy- because that's definitely how it works right 🧐

LauraLooDerby · 30/05/2019 10:37

Had my scan this morning - all good! Due date revised to 12th December (going to be a tired Christmas!).
Very exciting!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 30/05/2019 10:43

I don't know if anyone can help, my husband had just lost his job and I'm really really upset and stressed and I'm so worried it's going to hurt the baby.

PickledEgg89 · 30/05/2019 10:47

Ah @LauraLooDerby the 12th is a fab date, my youngest was born 12th December 2017! I think this one will be due around the 20th, we also have a November baby and a January baby. Clearly winter is our busy time 😂

PickledEgg89 · 30/05/2019 10:49

Oh @smartcarnotsosmartdriver I hope you're okay. I'm sorry I have no practical advice but just breathe. It's very unlikely the baby will be harmed but try to stay calm, such rubbish timing I know, hopefully something bigger and better comes along for your husband Flowers

JayDot500 · 30/05/2019 11:01

@smartcarnotsoamartdriver I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your family. I've no advice but you must be so worried. Stress today that's gone in a short while is not what can cause any ill effects, it is continual stress over a longer period that has cause for concern. And remember that it does not always cause adverse effects anyway, it just increases risk.

Try to look into different ways to handle your own stress (which will be very individual to you). For some, it may be exercise, for others breathing techniques, etc.

I hope this is all short lived for you all Flowers

JayDot500 · 30/05/2019 11:05

@LauraLooDerby great news!!! A very tired Christmas for us all!

December2019 · 30/05/2019 14:08

I had my scan yesterday I'm measuring at 10+3 today so it takes me from the 19th (my sons due date) to the 23rd.... his birthday 😂😂

elephantmarch · 30/05/2019 17:40

@smartcar I’m sorry that must be stressful. Job losses can bring exciting opportunities too. Which industry is he in? Redundancies are rarely personal so don’t let him take it to heart, just try and encourage him as much as possible

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 30/05/2019 18:05

Thanks everyone, without going into too many details he's in hospitality and one manager decided he didn't like him so has managed to get him fired for being "violent" and "aggressive" I've lived with this man for 9 years and he's nothing of the sort.

francesca26 · 31/05/2019 11:14

Hey everyone, I have been quietly following this thread and hope you don't mind me joining! I am pregnant after suffering a loss in December, and I had my 12 week scan yesterday. Measured 12weeks2days with a due date of 10th December 2019! I have been so nervous to reach this point and have my fingers crossed for us all moving forward! x

smitch82 · 31/05/2019 11:18

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver I know how your feeling it is really stressful. I have been made redundant and my last working day is next Friday. I am 12 weeks so not going to fine getting work easy but everything will work out. Just take a deep breathe and concentrate on the tiny life your growing and how amazing that is going to be x

agteacht · 31/05/2019 14:57

Sorry to hear this @smartcarnotsosmartdriver

Welcome @francesca26 and congrats

Congrats on everyone else's successful scans and due dates Smile

agteacht · 31/05/2019 15:17

My harmony results are in, the email said I was in the 'normal range' and to discuss with GP

But the attachment looks like we are as much in the clear as we can be as it says low risk with low probability for all three

@BostonFern is this similar to the sort of report you got?

Only took three days to get the results

BostonFern · 31/05/2019 15:36

@agteacht hey, yes, mine looked very similar- the senior consultant at the hospital last week said they were fantastic results!
This is what my report said:

Hope everyone is doing ok, lovely to read all the great news coming from the scans.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver sorry to hear about your DH, could he take them to a tribunal for unfair dismissal? Really hope your DH finds something with much nicer management very soon.

@smitch82 got my fingers crossed you'll find a job you love quickly!

I've been a bit quiet the last week or so. I'm 14+2 now, and to be honest whilst I'm feeling far less nauseous and exhausted I've been feeling quite anxious. It's almost all work related, but I don't think the pregnancy hormones are helping! On a more positive note I've started to buy a few maternity clothes for myself (eBay mostly) and I've also picked up some really cute baby clothes- has anyone seen the Disney clothes in Matalan? Particularly the Dumbo ones?

That's fantastic @BostonFern thanks so much for sharing. That eases my mind before I tell my family!
Definitely worth the money though I did wonder at the time! Will be so interesting to see if the NHS results are consistent. I am seeing consultant in two weeks so will share with him then

elephantmarch · 31/05/2019 17:10

@agteacht and @bostenfern that’s great about your test results and healthy babies. Welcome @francesca26 congratulations on getting to your second trimester! @smartcar does your husband have a hr department?

Unless gross misconduct someone can’t be fired on a whim, there has to be warnings etc.

@boston why is work so bad for you? Is it just a busy period?

I’ve just cooked a new dish. Korean bulgogi beef from a kit, not from scratch and it’s so tasty but it would be nicer with a glass of white wine next to it. Alas!!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 31/05/2019 18:42

@BostonFern he possibly could but it came down to 2 against one saying he'd lifted his hand when he hadn't.

@elephantmarch it was gross misconduct, they claimed he had assaulted a staff member or had come close to assaulting a staff member, they didn't seem too clear on the details. Unfortunately the manager had a "witness".

The facts of the matter were that he actually defended a female staff member who was being verbally degraded behind her back so although I wish we didn't have this stress just now I am actually very proud.

fonxey · 01/06/2019 08:22

Congrats everyone on the test results! Is harmony done on nhs or do you get it private?

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver so sorry to hear of your predicament. But he has time at least to find another job. It's really horrid how they have tested him. I know what it's like to have a sucky job. Hopefully he'll go on to get an even better job.

My oh lost his job 2 years ago just as we were about to start trying for a child. Different situation of course but i was really upset. Anyway, a stressful time but after everything worked for the best. Better job, better prospects. Best to think "this could be a good thing" and go from there.

I have my 12 week scan next Monday. I'm feeling anxious. According to my private scan I'm 12 weeks now. So I'm hoping they tally.

I have just bought some cute dino dungarees. Thinking well ahead and bought them for 6-12 months lol. I know it's a bit early yet, but they were half price and soooo cute. I've also bought a cuddly whale and octopus for the nursery.

I won't be getting anymore! I know my mil has already bought some moomin material for a quilt hehe. Far too excited!

I just want my bump and my first kick... Not just this bloat and toilet issues. Been soooo bunged up. I mean i know that won't go away and I'll have more annoying things but at least I'll have a proper bump to rub.

agteacht · 01/06/2019 15:40

Thanks @elephantmarch

@fonxey harmony is private (unfortunately!). The dungarees sound super cute

Starrynights86 · 01/06/2019 20:15

@foxney I bought a lovely jellycat octopus that I just couldn’t resist! And a wee top with birds on it. And a rattle! Need to restrain myself.

fonxey · 01/06/2019 21:13

@Starrynights86 my octopus also jellycat... A blue one! I want to go back and get the crab too.
