This cough has been awful, I've strained or pulled something right around in the middle of my bump and can barely move! I know pregnancy is asking a lot of the not very good to begin with core muscles but I didn't think a cough would floor me! Baby is still moving (but has turned so the kicks are either muffled by the anterior placenta or at odd angles towards the back).

On the plus side, while basically couch bound I've almost finished a crochet cuddly toy for DD I started 6 months ago and started another one for baby.

aliensprig · 09/09/2019 11:20

When's everyone starting their mat leave? I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and getting the form from my midwife on Weds. I'm due on Dec 31st but the way I feel atm I'm not sure I can last that long at work! I was thinking of starting my leave on Dec 2nd but is that cheeky...? Technically I'd only be 35+6 by then so not sure if I should hang on a bit longer :/

Funnybunnyfluff · 09/09/2019 13:09

Iv saves up holiday and I'm starting 6 Weeks before due date so I can relax get all my Xmas shopping done well in advance.

I'm a terrible wreck though has such a bad week last week cried so much couldn't go to work from tears. Better today but now thinking do I want to be home alone. I hope these feelings pass. At work today and it's taken my mind off stuff but feeling bad as I'm struggling to eat from the feeling of stress

First baby and I'm terrified of everything.

aliensprig · 09/09/2019 13:28

@Funnybunnyfluff I keep crying at work for the most minor stupid things, you're not alone! It's so embarrassing. Husband is used to it at home now at least...

Sorry you're struggling with food :( Is there anything you can eat easily just for some calories? Toast? A bit of salad or tinned soup? Cheese and crackers? I basically lived on crackers and toast in the first trimester! :(

Don't think I'll be entitled to much holiday between now and Christmas as I'm an agency worker :( but I feel less bad about taking it early now, thanks. Can barely cope with the physical symptoms now, let alone at 35 weeks!

Everyone knows they're not getting Christmas presents this year Grin we lowered expectations early...

Funnybunnyfluff · 09/09/2019 16:38

I'm going to try and give as little as possible this year but I like to buy for all the kids so will get a few bits.

Glad I'm not alone feeling like a teary wreck. My Hubby use to it now but also but feels helpless that he can't make me feel better.. I just say give me a hug 🤗 but makes me cry more 🙈!

Think it's just worry really if my life changing and not knowing what to expect. I'm such a planner normally.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 09/09/2019 19:10

I'm starting my mat leave about 2.5 weeks before but I don't have any holidays left as I'm using them to break up the time I have left. However if the pain gets more than I can handle I'll start earlier if I need to.
I had a very tearful day on Friday. I really just felt (feel) like I'm getting everything wrong for him already. Then I'm starting to feel huge and none of my decent clothes fit me at all anymore. Better over the weekend as I spent time with my mum and kept my mind off things.
In better news I had my glucose tolerance test today and the results are in, everything is just fine, he's just big.

Funnybunnyfluff · 10/09/2019 19:55

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver

Glad to hear it went well I have my test on the 26th along with my anti D. 🙈

Makes me happy spending time with my mum also 😁. Yeh I feel the same about my clothes as winter is coming.

lovebeingmum9 · 12/09/2019 16:26

Hi all
my mood and emotions have been up and down like a yoyo lately!
had my 28wk growth scan yesterday and all looks good baby is measuring good and weighs 2lb 11oz,on 49th percentile and baby is head down 😊 got another consultation and midwife app next week....my calendar is full of things, wouldn't know where I am without it! lol

December2019 · 13/09/2019 07:11

@lovebeingmum9 my emotions have been everywhere too! One minute I'm happy and the next I'm crying because my OH ate my revels 😂
I'm loving the change in weather!
Had my whooping cough & flu jab yesterday I'm feeling pretty crappy today really achy and just erghhh!
My 9 month old isn't likely to let me have a rest either 😂

Funnybunnyfluff · 13/09/2019 09:16

@lovebeingmum9

Glad to hear all went well, I know the calendar things is a nightmare. Coming up I got 24hr ECG on a Wednesday drop that back Thursday morning then on that day I got glucose test, anti D injection and scan... when do I get lunch 😂. Day after is midwife.

My life is normally so dull lol.

Feeling better I'm not the only one suffering with emotions 🙈

lovebeingmum9 · 13/09/2019 13:48

@December2019 that's enough to make any pregnant woman cry....i think I would if my husband even looked at my chocolate stash 😂
yeah it's really starting to feel like autumn now and can cosy up under blankets with hot choccies soon! oh wow bless you with a 9 month old....not easy! we have our youngest going through the terrible 2s atm not fun at all!
Thanks @Funnybunnyfluff
blimey that's alot going on....haha yep this is prob as full as my calendar is ever likely to be! I love being pregnant and knowing how lucky I am to be having a baby but I am looking forward to getting my body back! i want a gym membership for my birthday in january 😂

aliensprig · 14/09/2019 16:16

Today I cried on the phone to Mothercare, I have reached a new low 😂 I actually cannot deal with these godforsaken hormones!!

codenameduchess · 14/09/2019 17:34

yesterday DDs reception class did a mini concert to celebrate their first 2 weeks of school... I cried. A lot. 🤦‍♀️

This week I've also cried at 9-1-1 (tv show), frozen, my cat cuddling into me, 4 different songs on the radio and a book I read DD 😂

Had the growth scan this week, I'm told baby is almost perfectly average sized. I'm not convinced, my bump is so big and rock hard there has to be more than 3lbs of baby in there! everything else is looking good though, I'm relieved as it was around now my BP rocketed first time.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 14/09/2019 17:35

@aliensprig agreed! The nonsense I am crying at these days is just out of hand. I'm having a lot of pelvic pain and I just spent ages getting comfy in bed just to discover there was something scratchy by my feet. I had to get up to move it and start all over again. I sobbed because I couldn't get as comfy as I'd been before.

December2019 · 15/09/2019 06:31

Really struggling to sleep at the moment, I'm waking up aching all over!

fonxey · 15/09/2019 11:37

We had a lovely holiday this lady week in Dartmoor bit I've tired myself out now i think walking up all those hills! We tried to go fur easy walks but still a few steam ascents and they're idea of a "path" being a jumble of rocks you have to clamber over... Kinda interesting 6 months pregnant. But i felt amazing.

And we are so much. There wasn't a day i want feeling stuffed. All good stuff, baby has definitely grown ha. And she also knows what she likes... Apparently fine food because she got very happy the night we decided to treat ourselves (knowing posh restaurant+screaming baby probably will make it a no-go for a few years.

So glad we had this holiday though, i feel it's set me up for the test of the pretty and lots of happy memories for the birth to concentrate on. Dartmoor is where i am happiest.

I am getting lots of restless legs lately though especially by 8pm onwards which is weird.

2 months and a bit until mat leave. Kinda scary thinking about it knowing I won't be back for almost a year. And by then life hugely different.

lovebeingmum9 · 16/09/2019 09:33

@fonxey sounds heavenly and glad you had a nice time! I'm getting restless in the night rolling from side to side and my temperature is all over the place too....wearing a coat on school run when others are in shorts...and stripping off with window open at night because I'm sweating! starting to realise I have to slow down a bit now as even the hoovering takes my breath away lol not long now 😁

fonxey · 16/09/2019 10:12

I'm so glad for my wireless Dyson hoover. It's so light and easy but still riding sometimes.

I have backache today though. Probably due to work!

codenameduchess · 16/09/2019 10:20

@lovebeingmum9 do you feel like it's sneaked up on you a bit? I seem to have gone from fine doing everything to out of breath without noticing! Walked dd to school this morning and when I got back I was panting and sweating 😳

@fonxey that sounds like a lovely holiday ❤️ it's nice to get some time to relax before baby arrives.

lovebeingmum9 · 16/09/2019 10:20

ahh see i need one of them! ours is a big heavy dyson with cord that I have to carry up 3 floors.....I've complained about it to hubby but he hoovered the other day and he was sweating and out of breath so I think he sees my point now 😂😂

lovebeingmum9 · 16/09/2019 10:46

@codenameduchess yes it has snuck up from nowhere! I'm used to running about and being busy etc so prob havnt noticed it or just carried on anyway, but now I pick up a few toys off the floor,or when I'm loading the washing machine etc I'm really feeling out of breath and knackered and having to slow down and deligate!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 16/09/2019 19:05

Anyone else's baby have a favourite spot? Wee guy is always super far to the right, midwife says what I can feel is his bum.

fonxey · 16/09/2019 19:55

I have been more breathless for a while. But i think a bit more now. Sometimes feels just randomly.

She's been very active since the end of my holiday where she was really quiet. As if she went on one too. . Now she's back at work.

I'm but she if i can really feel her as in the shape from the outside. I thought maybe i could feel what must be an arm or something. My while belly feels solid.

elephantmarch · 16/09/2019 21:08

@fonxey where on Dartmoor did you go? I really enjoy scrambling (although would worry I’d be too fat now to fit through the gaps) . We often go to heator/ haytor but would love to know of other good walks for the future ( we will be there next July)

I find it exactly the same. We had a really active holiday a few weeks ago with mountain biking and hiking etc and I didn’t notice movements much until i rested at night. Think active days send the babies to sleep.

I cannot get my head round the fact that I won’t be at work in ten weeks time. There’s something that just isn’t really sinking in this time. I think the gaps between appts is part of it as i now have another 6 weeks wait. By the time that appt happens there will only be 3 and a bit weeks left till due date . Is everyone going for a natural birth? Or planning a c section?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 16/09/2019 21:14

I definitely feel less movement if I've had a busy day but I'm not sure if he moves less or if I just don't notice it the same because I'm busy?
@elephantmarch we have loads more appointments than that up here. I had 28 weeks, then 32 (should have been 31 but midwife is on holiday) then 35 then every 2 weeks until delivery. They induce at 41+5.
