@smartcarnotsosmartdriver i guess if that saw everyone with the same complaint they wouldn't get to see prep pee with the real problems. But sometimes just some human contact us all right.

I feel ok generally. Trouble is, the moment i saw it the first time i started to feel "off" so now I'm analysing every twitch and twinge. It's more am emotional reaction and i always considered myself somewhat.. more sensible than this!

Oh well. I'm concreting my efforts now on thinking about breath tiles and wondering how much it'll cost to get rid of artex. Hardly relevant but stops mind from worrying.

lovebeingmum9 · 04/09/2019 16:32

@codenameduchess aw that's lovely that she enjoyed her 1st day! I know what you mean,I had over 2hours to myself with no noice, was really strange! 😂 haha and had lots of looks at my belly on school run....the penny has finally dropped for alot of people who didn't know!
@fonxey that would panic anyone but don't let them fob you off if you feel concerned and worried, ask to be scanned to put your mind at ease? they tend to do it in early pregnancy but I suppose chances of it being anything serious at this stage is very unlikely....can always ask for the reasurance though?
in the mean time good luck with your battle over the bathroom tiles.....I will show solidarity and say I think your right with bright white tiles! can you plaster over the artex?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 04/09/2019 17:55

First growth scan today! He's measuring on the big side of normal at 3lb 1oz. They got a good look at his heart and it looks just as it should and they got the cutest picture of his little foot!

December2019 · 04/09/2019 18:21

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver that's the cutest little foot I've ever seen 😍

fonxey · 04/09/2019 18:48

So that's what's been kicking you, eh! Adorable.

Not looking fears to this gtt. With the panic all I've eaten today is jam on toast and two small waffles.

fonxey · 04/09/2019 18:49

Forward not fears. The gibberish my phone co ltd out with!

elephantmarch · 04/09/2019 20:05

@fonxey I wonder if the midwife was trying to reassure you that it’s nothing to worry about but it came out badly. But if it happens again (and I hope it doesn’t) I think you should ring again. At least ask if it’s to be expected or understand why it’s happening

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver wow great scan. Glad everything is looking good

I have done absolutely nothing to get ready for what the next 10/11 weeks will bring.
I really need to write a list or something as we’ve given all our old baby stuff away

aliensprig · 05/09/2019 22:11

Everyone on this thread sounds so organised, we have a second hand snuzpod and that's it... 23 weeks and I feel so unprepared Confused

fonxey · 05/09/2019 23:12

Glucose NORMAL! Yay. That gtt test was soooo boring and i was really tired.

And i did a #2…! Time to celebrate!

All of a sudden she feels really high... Well really high and low. I feel pressure downn below like she's pushing on my cervix. But i feel like my chest had little space and i feel breathless.

But anyway, mat leave and pay sorted today.

As for stuff i need... I'm paranoid she's going to be cold in winter and i haven't enough for her. I have loads of baby grows but she needs more layers and things.

And i need bedding for her mostly. And a bath. What else, can't think... I should get a bottle. I intend to bf but who knows.

I don't feel prepared at all!

December2019 · 06/09/2019 07:48

I don't feel prepared either I have most of the stuff I will need with my little boy being so small still but I still have to do his bedroom, I bought a 2nd hand cot off eBay for £35 and it's really nice the lady even gave me lots of bedding when we went to collect it too
But I still need a double pram

My bump still isn't round like a bump should be... I'm 25 weeks on Monday and it still looks like I've had a big meal lol my tummy is aching though all the time, the change in weather is making it feel like my due date is fast approaching 😍 I'm so exited to meet this little pudding... anyone having a 4D scan to see baby? I'm thinking of booking one for around 29 weeks I had one with my little boy and it was amazing

Fishbaby · 06/09/2019 08:42

I'm having a 4d scan on the 29th Sept. Ages away! But it'll probably come around soon... and I'll be 29 weeks by then too. Argh!

December2019 · 06/09/2019 10:45

@Fishbaby that will fly over, it's so exiting 😊

elephantmarch · 06/09/2019 20:49

@December2019 and Foxney i purchased a breast pump today in Argos as it was half price and I found it really useful before, as my milk came out like old faithful so I needed to ex/spress some off first. £14.99 for a set with bottles pump sterilisers etc.

I hit the third trimester today (28 weeks) and have cried for the first time in ages which does not bode well for the next 12 weeks. In truth I’ve been having a pretty good pregnancy, I’ve felt fit and happy etc but last week my butt cheek hurt to high heaven and hasn’t gone away, which dr google tells me may be sciatica?? I had to carry my 3 yr old up a hill on my shoulders as he was too overtired to walk and three men i knew walked past which made me sob as they didn’t offer to help. Which was very silly as I know that they wouldn’t have thought to and frankly I could’ve just asked but i think I’m tired and hormonal. I should buy my dh whiskey, he’ll be needing it!!!

lovebeingmum9 · 07/09/2019 10:13

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver lovely scan pic....got my growth scan next week so looking forward to seeing baby and finding out what he weighs! wow 3lb already?

Well we are pretty organised but purely because we already had everything from our other 3 children.... cot, moses basket, playmat, bath, highchair etc...we already have but we got a new pram pre ordered for end of this month (because our other one broke) and still need to get a new baby bouncer and few new extras...but I'm quite laid back about it all this time I'm more stressing over getting Christmas pressies etc sorted before due date because not wanting to leave it last minute and around new born 😂 but excited to bring baby home to Christmas decs and tree...will be lovely! 😍 our other children were born in spring, summer and autumn so this will be our winter baby to complete the four seasons! lol

Funnybunnyfluff · 07/09/2019 13:00

Aw Iv been really struggling this week, I feel very sad and down and I don't know why. I was meant to be going out to meet friends today and said to DH I really don't want to go I'm going to cry 😢!

I just want to get back into bed and hide from the world. It's a terrible feeling and I don't know what is going on. Iv cried 3 times already today and it's very stressful

Jowd92 · 07/09/2019 13:36

Hi everyone I haven't posted on this thread before hope you dont mind I'm also due december 28th I'll be 24 weeks tomorrow I also have my midwife appointment coming up and then also my gtt which I really ain't looking forward to at all! Hope everyone is well

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 07/09/2019 15:18

@lovebeingmum9 yup, he's a chunky monkey, I'm 5ft9 and DH is just over 6ft so I don't think he was ever going to be particularly small. I just can't believe how much he looks like a baby! Sounds daft but usually 20 weeks is the last scan you see and they really fill out from then, he's got wee chubby cheeks and everything. He was going daft kicking the sonographer which I found quite funny tbh.

As far as being organised I'm getting there. I feel disorganised so I've made a list of things to do/buy before he's here so I can check them off. First thing we got was a pram because I needed to make sure it fit in my tiny car, we're also going to be on a bit of a budget so we've been picking up bargains where we can, we got a lovely second hand cot and changing table for £50 and they really look nice so the only dear bit was a new mattress and I managed to get that in the sale too.

fonxey · 07/09/2019 16:34

What clothes do i need to get fit a winter baby? I've got loads of baby veggies but need other layers. I have as few jumpers and Thu be but is that enough?

I have trouble judging as most people seem to cope with two layers where as i get really cold is easily do kinda feel that 4- 5 layers is ok. I dear my baby will be cold!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 07/09/2019 16:51

@fonxey we're winging it. We've got sleep suits and vests. We also got a pram suit thingy in case I can walk (I'd really like to walk) other than that blankets really. My mum works with many knitters so they're making some lovely blankets for him. I've also bought a couple that looked nice.

JayDot500 · 07/09/2019 17:42

@fonxey my child will live in onesies/sleepsuits for the first 2 months, like DS did (January baby). Usually with a short sleeved cotton vest inside. My kid never got too hot, but other babies do so you'll have to play by ear. January/February was cold and dark outside. Wherever we'd go, it wasn't for long, so we would have wasted money on proper items of clothing. I didn't buy proper clothing until after the 8 week vaccinations. Plan to do the same with this kid, except it's going to be a longer winter with a newborn/baby, so will probably buy clothes for the post 2+ month period.

A nice warm snowsuit would go over any clothing so I don't plan to necessarily have anything more than simple cotton layers of clothes.

I've only bought onesies, muslin cloths, cute bibs, and a long sleeved baby grow. I'm 27 weeks, need to start actually prepping for this kid Grin

Emmilou82 · 07/09/2019 18:28

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well and I can see everyone is getting prepared 😬
I finally made a list this week as hubby and I hadn't bought anything but now we have, bottles, Moses basket, steriliser, baby-grows and some wipes (on offer). I feel better knowing we have made a start!

Time is flying over and if things go the way they are, I could be having a C section at 37 weeks 😩 so not long to go!!

lovebeingmum9 · 07/09/2019 21:19

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver wow so he's definitely going to be long/tall! ours have all been shorties like me and hubby I'm 5ft and hubby is 5ft 6 ours all weighed well at birth though 1st- 8lb 3oz, 2nd-10bl 3oz and 3rd-8lb 6oz.
@Funnybunnyfluff hope your feeling better soon it's such a hormonal rollercoaster and mentally draining X
Hi and welcome @Jowd92 😊

ours have always just had short sleeve vests with sleepsuit over top with blanket....hats,mittens and coat for winter outings,a long sleeve vest and long dungarees is a nice easy outfit combo but in the early days we went through so many vests because of sick, wee etc 😂

codenameduchess · 07/09/2019 21:38

I'm planning on short sleeved vest and sleep suit for the first month or two, have a couple of pram/snow suits too for when we're out and about. DD was a really sweaty baby (and is still a sweaty child!) but was summer born so spent most her first months in just a nappy or naked, even in winter she's always warm, this one could be totally different though.

We went to a nearly new sale today and bought quite a bit. I plan to bf, but we've got some bottle feeding bits just in case... I struggled a lot with DD and we've agreed there's no pressure either way.

I'm a bit nervous for the growth scan next week, my bump feels huge and a few people have commented on it this week. I looked at the bump pics from DD and I'm so much bigger this time.

fonxey · 07/09/2019 22:04

Hopefully them i have enough. I have a few pramsuits. Trouble is in sure I've bought mostly 0-3 clothes probably should get some more nb stuff! Hard to know when to stop when constantly anxious haven't got enough

I have some of the cutest little pramsuit things. I'm kinda jealous i can't wear one.

Really need to stop lol.

Jowd92 · 08/09/2019 12:00

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who likes to keep baby in vest and baby grow for the first few weeks I think they look so much more comfy and also makes them stay in that baby stage a little longer ❤ I have started buying bits got some in newborn and 0-3, if anyone is planning to bottle feed and use tommee tippee bottles amazon currently have them on sale at the moment for the 6 clear bottles or either coloured ones for boy/girl down from just over £30 pound to £12 pound and also the newborn starter set where you get 2 of the big bottles 2 little bottles a bottle brush and dummy for £12 also
