@RobinsNest17 they are lovely aren't they...good quality and cheap! look very mumsy too!
😊 no worries @smartcarnotsosmartdriver

elephantmarch · 01/09/2019 23:04

@fonxey every organisation is different but my last midwife appt was at 16 weeks so I told work that I would provide my matb1 form at 28 weeks ish, which they were absolutely fine with. As long as you’ve told them you’re pregnant by now, I don’t think you need to fret too much.

Thanks for the tips on maternity wear.

I think I’m in mourning for my boobsSad. I know we’re meant to be feeling all maternal, like a blossoming flower but by golly are they hideous!! Like a blobfish with two goggly brown eye balls on the end of them and nhs beige spectacles. Bring back pinky and perty! I don’t want dowager danglers. Sad Sad

fonxey · 01/09/2019 23:24

Yeah, i miss my old boobs! These nipples are far too sensitive and... Pointy. And i don't fit in anything. As usual for me I'm always on the edge of sizings. I always feel that I'm just too big for one size but if i go up then it's too. Big for me too. Bras do not fit me!

And i hate padded which makes it harder.

Fuiseog · 03/09/2019 06:33

With you both on the boobs front. My boobs are now pretty much half nipple! It's a bit terrifying.

December2019 · 03/09/2019 07:37

@Fuiseog yessss my nipples look ok like side plates 😂

December2019 · 03/09/2019 07:38

Anyone else got really bad sciatica pain?
I didn't have it as bad last time but this time it's really bad it feels like lightening bolts shooting down my leg 😩
Any cravings anyone? Mines fruitcake 😂

fonxey · 03/09/2019 09:21

I have to have a gtt blood test thingy! Uuugh i don't want it! It would be my worst nightmare!

I'm guessing if i do have gestational diabetes is have to go to labour ward as opposed to midwife lead?

codenameduchess · 03/09/2019 09:43

@fonxey yes you'd be consultant led rather than midwife, to be honest it's not that different other than extra appointments and I'd assume growth scans and GD has increased risks of large babies.

i caved and went to my gp, I've got a new medication for the ibs (which now she thinks might not be ibs and will be investigated after baby is here) and my horrific skin reactions are infected so have medicated cream. My gp said she had a lot of these pregnancy side effects too- it's always nice to hear someone else had these things too!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 03/09/2019 09:44

@December2019 luckily no sciatic pain just PGP so I can sympathise about being in a lot of pain. The only thing I've been taking notions for is irn bru, like the most Scottish craving ever.

@fonxey I have my GTT on Monday, I can report back if that's before yours?

fonxey · 03/09/2019 10:37

Mine is on Thursday. Nervous. I don't want to go to the labor ward, i wanted to go to the nice one. 🙁

Oh well. Hopefully nothing. My bump feels huge bit mw said it was perfect and i don't really fit the usual profile but i do love sugar and had glucose in wee.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 03/09/2019 12:42

I'm slowly falling apart and had a high BMI to start with so I've already accepted that there will be no nice midwife led birthing unit for me.
I've read that other women had dietary controlled GD and were still allowed the birthing unit? Think it depends on your area? Or everything might be fine, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I have my NHS antenatal class tonight, my first growth scan tomorrow and a 28 week appointment with my midwife on Thursday then my GTT on Monday, busy few days!

December2019 · 03/09/2019 13:25

Ohh the PGP 😩😩 it's so bad! Every time I pick my little one up I feels like my pelvis is breaking
I'm really starting to struggle now! They are still so worth it though lol

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 03/09/2019 13:52

I had no idea it was a thing @December2019! Until standing up felt like I'd been kicked in the crotch. I was advised by physio to buy a support belt so I did, they gave me no guidance as to which one so I managed to make things much worse. They really must be if you've had more than one! At the moment I can't even imagine signing up for this again. We're thinking one might be enough.

lovebeingmum9 · 03/09/2019 19:48

hi all I havnt had sciatica or pgp but when I was pregnant with my 2nd I had a trapped nerve in my lower back and was in agony! sharp shooting pains etc....luckily and touch wood it hasn't returned since but I can sympathise!
oh let us all know how your GTT and growth scans go! im 27wks today (yay 6 months) I've got my growth scan next week and consultation app week after.
Very excited for my beauties tomorrow, our eldest is going into juniors yr 3 our middle is going up to yr 1 and our littlest is starting nursery! im going to be an emotional wreck 😥 lol will be nice to have some alone time with hubby and bump though and get prepared......can feel autumn on it's way with the fresh mornings and only 3 months until bump becomes baby! how prepared or unprepared are you all?

codenameduchess · 03/09/2019 19:56

Wow a big day @lovebeingmum9 are the kids looking forward to going back/starting? It was my DDs first day of reception today, she's so confident nothing bothers her but I cried after we'd dropped her off 😂 she looked so little as she skipped off into the classroom!

fonxey · 03/09/2019 20:56

I bought a support belt but want sure what size to get so i got small or of habit. Well i can get it on, just but not sure if it is useful!

I had a bit of Brian and pinkish discharge today at work so got rather upset then his it from everyone of course. Mw assured me it's all probably nothing and she had been kicking today (baby not mw) which i don't usually feel at work. I only assume feeling her is a good thing.

Anyway feeling a bit sick now probably due to worry. No more discharge since. I don't know why it happened. Know it can after sex... But that's been out the window!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 03/09/2019 21:39

Word of caution about support belts, I got one online and it seemed great but turns out it made things worse, some of my bones/joints were out of alignment and I just forced them to stay that way, been off sick 2 days with the pain. Going to try and go back in tomorrow.

smitch82 · 04/09/2019 08:35

@fonxey @smartcarnotsosmartdriver I had my GTT test yesterday. I had to have it as my dad has diabetes. It was pretty boring waiting around so I suggest you take a book or a podcast to listen too as you can't walk around. Test results back in a couple of days and you only get told if you have an concern so no news is good news.

The drink is pretty thick but just tastes super sweet! I downed it like a shot, as it was easier to get it done. TBH I have downed worse things on a night out 😂

lovebeingmum9 · 04/09/2019 10:27

yes @codenameduchess they were excited to go and all looked lovely for 1st day back.....think our littlest will find it weird as it's all new for him but he's only in nursery for 2 and a half hours and will hopefully do him good....I cried too! did your daughter enjoy her 1st day in reception? bet she was so excited! Smile im sitting here in a totally quiet house not knowing what to do with myself! 😂
I've had a support belt and couldn't get on with it tbh the support belt didn't feel any different to the waist band on maternity trousers (except made me sweat/itch) lol

lovebeingmum9 · 04/09/2019 10:33

@fonxey forgot to add to above....it must have been a worry but hopefully it is nothing....glad your feeling the kicks! x

codenameduchess · 04/09/2019 10:51

I love when they're all smart in the new uniforms @lovebeingmum9 😍 DD loved her first day, and was excited to go back today, i was off yesterday and working from home today as shes having early finishes and it's strange it being so quiet haha. I did have DD and her 2 besties poking me in the bump asking when the baby is going to pop out because my tummy is soooooo big 😂

fonxey · 04/09/2019 11:41

@lovebeingmum9

It happened again this morning. So panicked at work again and got sent home. They're really really nice. I feel guilty though, cos it probably is normal.

But how long will this go on? It is so little there is no need for a pad. So I know it's silly. But i started to get very upset. And shan't help that she's decided to have a nap today after all the spinning about yesterday.

Distracting myself by thinking of tiles for the bathroom. Oh and i can't agree on scheme. I prefer a brighter white tile, he wants off white.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 04/09/2019 12:21

@fonxey if you're feeling upset could you call triage? I've been up twice with reduced movements and one from spotting and they were so lovely. Really put my mind at ease.

fonxey · 04/09/2019 12:40

Yes i phoned the midwives at the hospital and they just said not to bother and they wouldn't do anything.

They won't do anything until I go into labour. Useless.

They are probably right though. And I've felt movement today now.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 04/09/2019 14:32

@fonxey that's crap, I'm sorry. Everything is fine I'm sure but pregnancy is such an anxious time.
