@smartcarnotsosmartdriver

I have to have my anti D soon 🙈! I had 2 last year when I had a MMC had one in arm ouch then had one in my bum well above my bum when I had to go into hospital.

They are a bugger. Even the nurse that did my arm one said ow that needles got bigger ... I said please don't tell me this now lol. Silly woman 😂

codenameduchess · 28/08/2019 17:44

Pleased everything is ok @smartcarnotsosmartdriver that must have been scary! My growth scans start in a couple of weeks- looking forward to seeing baby again but afraid they're going to tell me its a big one!

I did tell MIL, sent her a message and checked how she was.... got a monologue of ailments going back to January and hunts about visiting the new baby. Swiftly ended the conversion, no way will DH agree to a visit!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 28/08/2019 20:02

@Funnybunnyfluff the midwife kept saying, this one is really sore, yeah no this hurts. I was like well I need it so there's no point scaring me off! I need the next one at 28 weeks, which is next week so lucky me.

@codenameduchess I've scared the living daylights out of myself with excessive googling so I'll be happy to know that he's a normal size plus they're going to try and see his heart again so that's good. Such a tricky situation but at least she knows. I've gone NC with my own dad recently and I'm slightly apprehensive about how we'll handle things when baby is here. I'm due 13 weeks today which is only mildly terrifying...

lovebeingmum9 · 29/08/2019 15:43

Hi all hope everyone is doing well....Ive not been on for a while so congrats to all who have had scans and those who found out babies gender/sex 💖💛💙
we've had such an unlucky nightmare of a month but luckily we have our health! (my blood group is b positive so onwards and upwards lol ) I'm 26wk +2 today and had mw app today....my bumps measuring at 28wks so 95th percentile but I have a growth scan in next few weeks so see what that shows! I've pre ordered the travel system we wanted so excited about that.....had a very busy and manic summer hols with our 3 kids at home but they all start back at school and nursery next week so will be a very quiet and boring house without them....but looking forward to some 1 on 1 time with hubby before baby's here, the calm before the storm 🤣

LucyAurora22 · 29/08/2019 17:20

Hi everyone,

I'd love to join in the conversation please, i'm due 15th December with my first baby!
Does anyone else find it hard to concentrate at work because all you can think about it baby related things?! Also doesn't help when the baby kicks when I'm in an important meeting, haha!

lovebeingmum9 · 29/08/2019 17:53

hello and congrats on your 1st pregnancy @LucyAurora22
I'm finding it hard to concentrate full stop lol I'm due with our 4th on 3rd of December and it's a boy.....how's your pregnancy been so far and have you found out what gender/sex your baby is?

LucyAurora22 · 29/08/2019 22:08

Thanks so much @lovebeingmum9

Congratulations to you too, I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling to concentrate!

I'm having a boy and the pregnancy has been pretty good so far, although my hips have become a little sore and stiff recently... just hope it doesn't stick around or get worse! Midwife says it's normal though.x

fonxey · 29/08/2019 23:04

Does anyone here have they're matb1 form already?

I read somewhere you need to apply before week 25 so i panicked and tried calling midwife only of course it's just a messaging service. And all they do is ring back the next day but birth times I've just missed the call. I can't answer my phone at work as we're but even meant to have them on us (which we mostly ignore because it's dumb.) Today i just haven't looked at my phone at all. Not cos it's wheel i just left it upstairs and forgot.

I really think the whole thing is dumb sometimes threat they don't get back to you sooner. Some things you want to ask isn't an emergency. Mn is by far more useful!

Anyway remembered i have my appt on Monday so hopefully get it then. I doubt it really matters when i apply. I work for the nhs though i realise it might take them to years to process it.

Sorry for rambling it's past my bedtime!

How everyone is ok, too much to catch up on. I'll have to read through later properly.

codenameduchess · 30/08/2019 08:00

@fonxey you need to give it to your employer by the end of week 25, HR will need it for your maternity leave/pay. I got mine 2 days before the cut off!

codenameduchess · 30/08/2019 08:11

How is everyone doing?

I've picked up DDs cold, right in time for my week off with her 🤦‍♀️not sure if it's tense from sneezing or something but I'm finding if I walk a lot or do anything too strenuous my back and bump ache and if I move too quickly or pick up something heavy I get cramp/shooting pains at the bottom of my bump. Don't remember anything like this first time and it's starting to slow me down!

fonxey · 30/08/2019 10:37

@codenameduchess i found the same thing with achey bump if sneezing. It's got better lately though not as achey. Just bulging!

I'm annoyed about the matb1 form. I didn't know about it until i read the stupud form i have to fill in. I asked hr for what i needed etc but they are absolutely useless.

Why can't they give it to you at your 16 well appt? Grumble!

Fuiseog · 30/08/2019 20:33

Hi all, hope you're well! Sorry to hear you have a cold, @codenameduchess and that you've had a bad month, @lovebeingmum9.

Had my 24 week GP appointment today at 24+2 and got my whooping cough jab. All is good as far as she can tell SmileSmileSmile
Loved getting to hear the heartbeat again. She thinks based on the size and position of my uterus that I'm a little ahead of what the hospital said based on the scan - they did say at the 20 week scan that the baby was a fine size but a bit smaller than average, so if they based the date on an average sized 12 week scan, for example, I wonder if maybe she was small all along and was a little over what they said then? By my dates, I would be about 25 by now. I hope she's right, as that would move me further from Christmas and give me more chance of having her and being home by then! Fingers crossed!

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

codenameduchess · 30/08/2019 21:14

So, gross question ladies.... any of you had patches of extra sensitive skin? I've got a few and they've changed colour to a brownish-purple, very itchy and irritated, all in areas that can't be avoided touching clothes or other body parts. After being out with dd today I can barely walk it's so sore! I've switched to all sensitive/zero products to wash and don't directly wash these patches, stopped shaving around the areas and it's getting worse.

lovebeingmum9 · 30/08/2019 21:51

@LucyAurora22 congrats on your boy!
glad all is well....yes I've had the stiff hips and back pain as well as the many other lovely pregnancy side affects! lol
hey @codenameduchess hope you get better soon....it's typical to get a cold when the weather's been so nice! I've currently got a viral infection which is no fun!
also bump is feeling heavier and finding it harder to do bits now I'm expanding!

Thanks @Fuiseog I wonder how accurate they will be...I'm measuring ahead at the mo so will be interesting to see if they have got that right for both of us? hope you have a good weekend too! 😊
anyone else had milk come through yet....I had a small wet patch the other day lol
I got some great maternity clothing bargains from new look.....a white pair of over bump leggings rrp£16 down to £3! a beautiful yellow cami top rrp£20 for £3 and a jumper rrp £10 and again £3! worth a look ladies x

fonxey · 30/08/2019 22:50

@lovebeingmum9 in store or online? I am so fed up of buying clothes. Thus week I've grown out of everything and it's that annoying thine of year between shun me and autumn when I'll be wanting jumpers and things. And a coat that will fit.

lovebeingmum9 · 31/08/2019 10:41

hey @fonxey it's online.....if you type in Google, maternity clothing and then select shopping it comes up with all the new look maternity sale bits (otherwise it was hard to find on their website) and I've already had them delivered and they are so lovely....I too have been making do with what I had in wardrobe but for £3 each was a bargain x

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 31/08/2019 10:56

@lovebeingmum9 thank you so much for that, I've ordered a wee selection of things that look great! I have a leaving doo next week and now I have something to wear that isn't leggings!

fonxey · 31/08/2019 11:47

Have also ordered a few things! Thanks so much. Hopefully take me through autumn winter. Still need a bit more. I wish o knew how big I'll get. I feel like a whale already.

lovebeingmum9 · 31/08/2019 16:22

aww I'm glad it's helped! at this stage in pregnancy it's a case of not wanting to spend much on maternity clothes (that are only going to get warn 3 months) but don't wanna resort to wearing a binliner either 🤣

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 31/08/2019 16:37

@lovebeingmum9 completely agree! I have nothing to wear but I completely grudge spending money on clothes when I have perfectly good clothes they just don't fit right now. DH was kind enough to pay for some things for me as I kept dithering about if I needed things, I got 3 tops, 2 dresses and some nice trousers for £35 which to me seemed like a lot but then he reminded me that the 2 nighties I fancied from Mothercare that I am completely refusing to buy were £35.

lovebeingmum9 · 31/08/2019 16:52

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver
I'm exactly the same lol it was only because my mum dragged me out to get maternity bras that I got some.....hubby is always telling me to get bits but I always put my needs last....but I was getting pretty desperate 🤣 the clothing you bought sounds like a bargain to me....you've kitted yourself out with more than one outfit and some people spend £35 for a pair of sunglasses x

lovebeingmum9 · 31/08/2019 18:05

also with regards to nighties primark do lovely ones....I've always bought my labour/birthing nighties from there £5each 😉

RobinsNest17 · 31/08/2019 21:37

Same here @lovebeingmum9 ! I especially like their cheap button through night shirts as they work for feeding after birth too, I just buy them in the biggest size possible so they fit the bump and also are nice and long for a bit of dignity in hospital!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 31/08/2019 22:19

Thanks for the tip! I'll take a wee trip to primark.
