Would love to join the Facebook group - anyone know how?

Notanotherthomas · 29/07/2019 19:40

Hi. I've not checked this thread for a couple of months, hope everyone's pregnancy is going well! Anyone that wants to join the Facebook group, if you email [email protected] with your Facebook username, I will add you to the group. Will need to add you as a friend first, as there doesn't seem to be any other way to add people but can delete you after x

fonxey · 29/07/2019 20:30

What is your fb username is it not just your email? I did email a while back but nothing happened. Sad

Notanotherthomas · 29/07/2019 20:43

Oh sorry not sure how your message was missed fonxey Confused
It's a group email address so all members of the Facebook group have access to it

Any of you ladies have experience with pelvic pain? I didn't have any issues with DD but I'm struggling a bit right now, managing to get around but constantly uncomfortable or in pain- my bump seems massive too so maybe that's why! Not sure what's best to relieve it.

I dug out a picture from when I was about 28 weeks back in 2015 and I'm not far off that now at 22 weeks! 😳

Spicey08 · 29/07/2019 21:35

Codename, i had SPD in my first pregnancy from around 30 weeks. On the front of my notes there’s a number for a self referral physio who for us is at the hospital, they worked absolute wonders! I am now 21 weeks with 2nd and can occasionally feel it so assuming it will be the same sort of thing this time. If no self refer I’m sure your midwife can refer you if you just ring and explain. Best to get checked sooner rather than later as they give you tips on how to get out of bed and out the car so that you don’t aggravate it too much :)

fonxey · 29/07/2019 22:03

My lower back and bottom hurts during the day at work due probably to the kind of movements i make.

Going to yoga tomorrow so hoping that helps.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 29/07/2019 22:10

@codenameduchess I started getting PGP symptoms at 10 weeks, I think I'm just lucky. Physio were good, gave me tips on how to get about and gave me crutches too which are really helpful if I need to walk a longer distance.

RobinsNest17 · 29/07/2019 22:27

I've had awful lower back and hip pain for the past week. Had it in last pregnancy too. Midwife last time was very unhelpful and just said I could try a pregnancy aqua class. I did, but it didn't help. I'm just resigned to it. It did seem to settle a bit as the pregnancy went on though.

I had my scan today: I'm having a little girl, quite little compared to my son at the same stage (25th centile). I've not got an anterior placenta this time, which explains why I've felt her so much earlier, but unfortunately it's placenta praevia so I've got to go back for a scan at 34 weeks to see if it's moved or not. Bit nervous about it tbh, especially reading the fact sheet she gave me about the bleeding risks etc. Has anyone else got/had placenta praevia?

codenameduchess · 30/07/2019 09:16

I'll check for self referrals thanks @Spicey08 our trust seems to be quite good for self referrals.

Having a day working from home to rest a bit as the uncomfortable office chairs are not helping the situation! Me and dh had an unexpected childfree night last night and went to the cinema- which was lovely but my god I was in pain from about halfway through the film!

CourgetteAndCrisps · 30/07/2019 09:21

Congratulations on your little girl @RobinsNest17! I've got an anterior placenta (which is a bit of a pain) but I've felt my little boy so much more strongly this week. Tommy's have a good video on placenta praevia (link below). Apparently it moves for 90% of women.

I'm nearly 21 weeks and absolutely shattered at the moment - I've had a few super hormonal days too. I'm going to try and gym / yoga tonight to see if that picks me up. Is anyone else feeling the same?

Funnybunnyfluff · 30/07/2019 10:36

20 week scan went well, didn't find out the sex although the sono was desperate to tell us 😂.

Only thing he did tell us is I have a Marginal umbilical cord insertion.
Only 7% of women have this. The umbilical cord connects within 2 cm of the placenta's edge instead of near the center.

He said not to worry baby is all fine. Will talk to midwife next week about it but think it will be extra scans later on.

Anyone else experienced this? X

RobinsNest17 · 30/07/2019 11:58

Thank you @CourgetteAndCrisps the link was really useful. It's reassuring to know it'll probably be ok, but the stuff about risks still worries me. I'm a worrier I guess.

codenameduchess · 30/07/2019 14:26

@RobinsNest17 I had anterior and placenta previa at the first anomaly scan at 19 weeks, they said it moves 99 times out of 100 and by 20+5 it had already moved far enough away to not be an issue. You get to see baby again though 😀

RobinsNest17 · 30/07/2019 16:21

Oh thank you @codenameduchess that's so reassuring!

Nojeans · 30/07/2019 17:00

Hi everyone. I’m 20wks+1 day. I had my 20wk scan on Saturday. All progressing well and enjoying my 2nd trimester much more than my first 🤢 Glad to be a member of this group - I’m due mid December.

lovebeingmum9 · 01/08/2019 16:25

hi all....
congratulations @RobinsNest17 💖
and @Funnybunnyfluff & @Nojeans 💛💛
and anyone else who's having scans! x

well weve had a rubbish week unfortunately........
I've been very poorly and so went to doctors and I've got bronchitis (so am on antibiotics),had 1 son with sickness, other son with diarrea and my hubbies grandad has sadly passed away (although expected and peacefully its still devastating) so we've had a miserable household......glad we had the chance to tell him babies name and he knew his own name would be carried on as babies middle name! which has even more meaning to us now.

today we took kids up to a little fun fair and park, it was lovely to get out and take our minds off it all!
pregnancy wise I've had my consultation and been given extra growth scans as well as getting green light for an induction on my due date if baby doesn't come before! just looking forward to getting well and enjoying the rest of summer hols with family x

fonxey · 01/08/2019 19:34

Antenatal yoga was really good but i get really nervous in new social situations. But they were all nice so looking fears to going again next week.

I might have finally felt my baby move a bit more. A bit last night and then mid day today. But she's been quiet since. Might just have been hunger though on my side. Who knows but it felt different to normal tummy gurgles.

fonxey · 01/08/2019 19:37

Sorry for your loss @lovebeingmum9 it's always sad to lose a loved one no matter how expected. Glad you got to tell him your baby's name. It must have given him peace.

Hope you and family will feel better soon... These things always happen all at once!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 01/08/2019 19:40

Hi everyone, an update from my appointment with the consultant today. I actually felt like they listened to me which was nice. They've put in a referral to get my next scan moved forward by 2 weeks and left a specific note for them to check his heart and after that I'll have another appointment to speak to the consultant again.
He also said that as everything else with baby is completely spot on it's unlikely that there would be anything seriously wrong with his heart as this would probably have a knock on effect to other things. So I'm feeling a little more reassured.
Apparently part of the issue and the reason they can't get a clear image is my BMI so that's not really their fault. It was actually a trainee who did my second scan. I thought they had to tell you?

lovebeingmum9 · 01/08/2019 19:49

Thanks @fonxey
yeah he's at peace now and although there's never a right time,it was his time.

keep up the good work with yoga, how brill is that! that's on my list of things to try.....glad your starting to feel some movement now it's def worth the wait,it's amazing the further along you get....I remember at the end of my other pregnancies I could actually see and feel feet poking through my belly lol x

RobinsNest17 · 02/08/2019 07:43

Really glad you got some more information @smartcarnotsosmartdriver
...They didn't say anything to my face in my appointment, but when I read the print out from my 20wk scan, it said "Restricted image compromised by raised BMI". I guess they say on the report it to cover their backs. My scan took longer normal but he sonographer seemed to find everything ok in the end. At the time she said it was difficult because of the way the baby was lying though and didn't mention my weight to my face!

RobinsNest17 · 02/08/2019 07:45

Sorry for your loss @lovebeingmum9
Hopefully that's got all the bad stuff and sad stuff out of the way for now for you to enjoy the rest of the year.

JayDot500 · 02/08/2019 20:25

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver that is quite reassuring, sorry it's not been without stress Flowers. My scan could have ended up like yours, she took a long time to get images of the heart. She had to go back to it multiple times. Of course she was silent as ever so I was worried. It wasn't until the very end of the scan that the sonographer explained that baby was jumping all over the place but she got something in the end. Baby was measuring okay etc.

Past the 20 week scan so finally started buying stuff! Whoever it was that mentioned Frugi earlier, I love you 🥰

fonxey · 02/08/2019 21:15

Good news @smartcarnotsosmartdriver

@JayDot500 i love frugi! Have to stop buying things though. Something comes through the door every day.

Yesterday i received this Mothercare swing thing. Was £60 but gut £25. I'm not sure is have spent £60 on a thing that would only last a few months but fur 25 it seemed a good seal. It's one of those things you press a button and it swings. Congress with some irritating tubes that will not be playing.

Also got a groegg in recommendation but it says the bedroom is 24 degrees and I'm sure it isn't that warm. Need to get something to compare it to though.
