@CourgetteAndCrisps We are doing good thank you. Feeling a few random kicks and bump is definitely growing quickly! Had a private gender scan over the weekend which after two attempts showed it's another girl :)

CourgetteAndCrisps · 16/07/2019 21:36

@Issywizzybelle aw congratulations! Do you have any name ideas lined up yet? My bump is starting to make an appearance, especially in the evening ☺️

fonxey · 17/07/2019 06:55

Sorry to hear your worries @smartcarnotsosmartdriver though i hear it's normal to call you back if they can't see anything. Hope you aren't worrying so much any more. On the plus side you get to see your baby again.

I haven't felt so much as a flutter. :( Nothing. I know it's normal for anterior placentas and mine is apparently perfectly centre high and so according to my midwife isn't likely to be going anywhere.

So it's going to be hard not worrying i think in the future when you're supposed to observe the regularity of baby's movements!

I wish i could just have a window into my womb whenever i want. Or some secret code from the baby.

Sorry for any typos. My screen prob needs cleaning. Making less sense than usual.

IHD83 · 17/07/2019 09:16

I hate when we have to track movements...because some days my first baby was less active than others and I was always thinking...should I go to the hospital? I think from that week is when you start feeling tired of the situation and wishing to give birth 🤣

Issywizzybelle · 17/07/2019 10:03

@fonxey I didn't feel any movements at all until 24+6 with my first so very surprise to feel it this early with this one!!

I had a midwife appointment at 13 weeks and he booked my next on everything in for 25 weeks which is so far apart but luckily I've got myth the scan and consultant appointment at 20 weeks but the length between appointments is why I booked a private scan

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 17/07/2019 10:17

Thank you @fonxey I am less worried but I'll tell much happier once we know for sure that everything is ok. Got stuck in roadworks this morning for 2 hours and my hips and back are absolutely screaming which is definitely taking my mind off it but not in a good way.
Sorry to hear about your movements, it must be really concerning, I've only just felt proper moment that I was happy was baby but I'm a bigger mum so it's quite common apparently and he's my first.

fonxey · 17/07/2019 10:21

Almost 25 weeks! Shock Sad

It's so weird that I have something that's apparently the size of a sweet potato and feel nothing.

My next mw appt is on 2nd September. Seems ages away. We're off on holiday the week after though, so can't wait.

elephantmarch · 18/07/2019 19:06

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver hope that scan comes around quickly but try not to worry . It happened with my first but they got me to go for a walk wiggle around a bit and were able to do it on the same day. They genuinely couldn’t get the right imaging, he had a healthy heart

I was worrying too after being told mine was small by the sonographer. I called the midwife and she said they don’t worry about anything less than 5% and the sonographer should’ve kept quiet. I would love another growth check but that’s it for me now, Ive no further appts for 2 months! Got my whooping cough jab today though. They don’t have flu ones in stock yet but we can get those in the autumn

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 18/07/2019 20:15

Thanks @elephantmarch we're back a week today, I think I'm just paranoid because we don't have a full medical history on either side and heart conditions can be hereditary. Thanks for mentioning whooping cough though, I need to remind my midwife that I still need mine, was supposed to have it last time but there wasn't any.

RobinsNest17 · 19/07/2019 16:21

Is anyone else suffering with heartburn yet? I don't think I had it until the third trimester with my first pregnancy, but I've been on the gaviscon for the past two days and I'm only 19 weeks!

CourgetteAndCrisps · 19/07/2019 16:22

Ah @elephantmarch you legend - I just booked my jabs in before I forget again. 🙌🏼🧬🦠💉

fonxey · 19/07/2019 17:27

8 booked myself a 4d scan for 22nd sept! Can't wait! I'll be 28 weeks then.

I have not been told about any whooping cough jab. Hmm!

lovebeingmum9 · 19/07/2019 21:42

hi all hope everyone's doing well? i havnt checked in for a few weeks as it's just been so manic lately!
had my 20wk scan today and we have a healthy baby boy! our other children are over the moon and we're all very excited,it's suddenly made it all feel so real! And to top today off hubby felt baby kick for the 1st time which was amazing Smile

Funnybunnyfluff · 20/07/2019 09:07

Hello Ladies, Hope you don't mind me joining been on the Christmas 2019 thread.

Currently 18+2 our first. We are not finding out the gender.

@RobinsNest17 yes I have heartburn for the last few days. You're not alone.

fonxey · 20/07/2019 09:45

Congrats on your boy @lovebeingmum9 what exciting news.

Welcome @Funnybunnyfluff to December!

I'm an ickle bit jealous of those of you feeling kicks. I'm not sure if the oh will be able to feel the kicks when i do get them.

I thought i might have felt something yesterday, but next very well have been wind. But it was a weird kind of wind feeling. Like being flicked by bubbles. But only once.

My need to pee especially at night had once again increased. It stopped for a few weeks and now back again. So that's annoying. And my sleep quality had gone down. For 2 weeks was sleeping like a log.

BostonFern · 20/07/2019 17:33

Hey ladies, sorry I've been missing the last couple of weeks-it's been a busy end to the school term!

@RobinsNest17 yes, I've been getting heartburn for a few weeks now. I've given in and bought a box of Rennies which I've taken a couple of times.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver it took a long time for them to see everything around the heart properly in our 20 week scan, baby was being awkward and the sonographer says they need the baby to be in certain positions to check everything fully-the lady before us had to make another appointment to go back as her baby wasn't playing ball! I'm sure that's all yours was and it's nothing sinister x

@Issywizzybelle Congratulations on finding out you're expecting a girl!

@lovebeingmum9 Congratulations on finding out you're expecting a boy!

I'm 21+3 now, baby boy has a strong kick already! DP has been able to feel baby kicking for more than a week now, and when I'm in the bath the baby kicks make tiny waves! I sat in the staff room at work the other day and you could see the kicks making my stomach move too! Next midwife appointment is at the end of the month, and then growth scans start at the beginning of September.

CourgetteAndCrisps · 21/07/2019 20:53

Hey @Funnybunnyfluff and congratulations @lovebeingmum9 💙

How's everyone been doing this weekend? I've been absolutely exhausted 😩 Out of nowhere I've just been super hormonal and basically bed bound all day. Definitely still waiting for that 2nd trimester energy surge 😂

lovebeingmum9 · 21/07/2019 22:52

Thankyou ladies x
hey @Fonxey that sounds like baby flutters to me.....bubbles is very accurate description and they will soon become more frequent and stronger! i didnt feel as much with our 1st but with each pregnancy ive felt more sooner (my stomach muscles are prob knackered by now so count yourself lucky lol)
@smartcarnotsosmartdriver we was close to having to go back again because of how baby was laying but he did change position throughout the scan... so hopefully it would have just been positioning and all goes well for your next scan X
hey @BostonFern it's amazing isn't it! bet your excited for your growth scans, will see consultant next week and find out if I will be needing any extra growth scans in this pregnancy....but they do an extra scan at 36wks now so don't think I will be needing/having anymore.

I too have been feeling pretty exhausted some days....so when I do get a surge of energy I make the most out of it! i have also found out just recently that braxton hicks can start from 20wks and have had a few this time which is absolutely crazy as didn't know they could be so early! went to a boot fair today and picked out 4 outfits (2 brand new with tags and 2 as good as new) and cost £1 or 25p each and I'm so over the moon with them....it's worth looking ladies as you can bag a bargain!

fonxey · 21/07/2019 23:44

It's exciting to think they were my baby moving. I really wish it would happen again
I've had no flutters today though... Just movements of a different kind! Grin

I've been going slightly insane and sleeve way too much money on various things. Nice bits of clothes, blankets. I wish i could afford to just buy my baby lovely organic cotton floors from places like frugli all the time.

I've got myself shine nice bits for a few months in advance.

I'm getting a bit worried what with winter.. How much clothes i need to get. I'll need leaders, hearts, jumpers... Haven't got many jumpers. First baby so no idea really.

I'm looking forward to when more winter clothing comes out.

CourgetteAndCrisps · 22/07/2019 08:55

@fonxey check out H&M's organic cotton baby line. It's online only but surprisingly reasonable!

codenameduchess · 22/07/2019 11:05

Sat in a meeting this morning and baby kicked so hard my bump moved! Still going with the big roles and kicks half an hour later 😍

I was getting worried over the weekend as I'd only had small movements and they'd almost disappeared, baby must have moved out of the way of the placenta

fonxey · 22/07/2019 11:58

@CourgetteAndCrisps oh yes. I have bought shine from h&m but must have not seen these range. I'll have to come back next month i think hehe already spent waaaay too much. I mean i know I'll have to spend it anyway but better wait until i get paid at least... Looks better!

It's hard to not look.

agteacht · 22/07/2019 23:05

Hi all haven't been on in a little while, glad everyone is doing and progressing so well!

Had our 20w scan today at 20w4d. Haven't had a scan since 15w which given how frequently I had them in the first trimester when I was bleeding so often feels like so long ago now!!

All was well and everything where it should be!
Have an endrocrinologist appt on Wednesday to check on a pre-existing condition and then next appt is at beginning of September around 26w I think. Can't say it feels that organised or clear for first time mums at my hospital but just taking it as it comes!!

Generally feeling fine, just tired and fatter and slower than usual, already feeling the need to go on a mega diet as soon as this little one comes out!!

Haven't bought any baby stuff yet but I guess that's the next thing! It's complicated this being pregnant thing isn't it :)

Issywizzybelle · 24/07/2019 07:11

Hello!

How are you all doing in this heat??

RobinsNest17 · 24/07/2019 07:53

Ugh the heat's awful @Issywizzybelle I'm hiding inside a lot, my toddler is very blind and pale skinned so at least I've got him as an excuse! How are you doing?

I felt the first proper kicks 'on the outside' last night during the thunderstorm! Didn't dare wake my husband up at 2am to feel them though! It's about 4 weeks earlier than with my son so it's quite exciting. My scan's not until Monday so it's nice to have had something early to help make it feel 'real'.

Is anyone here able to add me to the Facebook group? I did email and had a response, but then didn't get an invite or friend request, and didn't hear back when I emailed again. Thanks.
