Hi all Smile
@December2019 lovely scan pic....I would guess girl.
@Dotty143 hi congrats on your scan and glad your sickness is going....fingers crossed mines on it's way out too I've had it terrible!
@Fonxey nosebleeds are common in pregnancy due to the increase of blood pumping round....shame you didn't get a better reaction from your mum but bet she will be totally different once baby is here!

I've been struggling to get a good night's sleep....keep wedding a pillow inbetween my legs and under my belly but still tossing and turning from side to side lol

PickledEgg89 · 16/06/2019 19:44

Hello :) 13+5 today and I'm sure I've felt flutters yesterday and today. This is baby #4 and definitely the earliest I have felt movement.
So we told our families we're expecting again, honestly felt like a scared child doing it 😂 as expected they all think we are crazy as they thought we were finished at 3 but hey ho, we are happy and won't let anyone pee on our parade.
After telling them we announced on Facebook and got lots of lovely responses so that cheered me up 😊
Home birth midwife texted me to book my 16 week appointment which will be done in the house so that will be nice.
HG is still kicking my butt.
That's all from me really!
Hope everyone is doing good xx

codenameduchess · 16/06/2019 20:11

I'm on day 2 with no sickness... hoping this means it's on its way out!

I knew that pregnancy changes your skin, but I hadn't quite accepted just how much. Weather improved the last 2 days and I've burned every part of my body that was exposed- including my scalp!- even with factor 50 on. I have patches of brown skin popping up (some on my top lip! 😭) too.... urgh

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 16/06/2019 20:39

Hello everyone 👋 I'm tentatively dipping my feet in at 12+5, I'm due on Christmas Eve. I have a nearly 4 year old DS who I had IVF for and it's been another long journey for number 2 as well. I've been reading for weeks but have been a bit too nervous to join in as I was pregnant with twins but sadly one of them stopped developing at 10 weeks. No idea why. The other baby is doing well as far as we can tell and I'm hoping it will be a smooth journey from here on 🤞

Congratulations everyone on all the lovely scans and it's exciting that some of you already know if it's a boy or girl!

BostonFern · 16/06/2019 20:42

Evening ladies!
Sorry for not posting for a while, just come out the other side of a really stressful time at work and I've enjoyed my first weekend off in what feels like months!

It's lovely to see so many scans have gone well.

@agteacht I started to feel what I think were little flutters last week (15 weeks then). My 16 week appointment was basically checking my blood pressure and urine, and then we went over the consultants report and plan, midwives (both community midwives were at this appointment, not sure if that's the norm) also asked how I was feeling too. If we hadn't discussed the consultants plan I think I would only have been with them for about ten minutes.

@lovebeingmum9 we already know the gender, a little boy 💙 found out very early on at 11 weeks after a NIPT test.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver I had my 16 week appointment on Monday, whooping cough jab on Thursday and my arm has just stopped hurting this evening! On Friday I was struggling to pull my trousers up it was that achey 🤦🏼‍♀️ Worth it though to protect baby.

@fonxey sorry to hear your mum didn't respond very well.

@codenameduchess got my fingers crossed for you that you're over the sickness now!

Hi @NoCupcakesOrCocktails congratulations on your pregnancy!

I'm 16+4 now, got quite a few appointments in the next week- three cardiology appointments and a private scan. Just over three weeks to my 20 week scan where I'll see the senior consultant again, and we will start monitoring my bloods every four weeks then (I have a congenital liver condition that needs keeping an eye on, and raised platelets). I'll start growth scans at 28 weeks too. So I think I'll be at the hospital a fair bit from now on.

@BostonFern i think it's just shock. She's been testing out calling it random name at the moment.

We bought our pram set on Saturday. Got the cosatto wow. They had an offer (guess on to 19th) where they there in the car seat for free. So thought may as well. Weren't going to bother getting that one (was going to get an all in one type) but if it's free... All the extra we bought was the muff.

fonxey · 17/06/2019 00:30

We got it at Mothercare*

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 17/06/2019 10:47

@fonxey sorry to hear about your mums reaction. People can have very strange reactions to news of a new baby. Hope she changes her tune soon. It's so exciting starting to buy stuff. I love all the bright cosatto things

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 17/06/2019 10:48

@BostonFern it's lovely feeling those first flutters Smile

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 17/06/2019 15:07

Afternoon everyone, glad to hear things are going better at work now @BostonFern.

@fonxey I think your mum will come round, I love Cosatto prams I think we'll probably get one of those.

I am now the owner of a pair of crutches due to the joys of PGP.

JayDot500 · 17/06/2019 16:13

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver omg I could do with some crutches 😭. My right buttocks is being a bitch right now, it's so painful to move. I don't even know what to call this pain. I've had it on and off for the last few days and I'm having to hop everywhere!

BostonFern · 17/06/2019 17:31

@fonxey how exciting to get the pram! I think our next 'big buy' will be the car seat (we also have our pram, spotted an eBay bargain and couldn't resist). Glad to hear your mum seems to be coming round to the news now!

Thanks @smartcarnotsosmartdriver. Oh no, PGP 😢 get yourself some gel hand grips for your crutches, I found them really useful when I had to spend 12 weeks on crutches-far less painful on the hands!

@NoCupcakesOrCocktails I can't wait for my DP to be able to feel movement now.

Congrats on all of the scans and welcome to everyone who has joined us! @NoCupcakesOrCocktails so sorry to hear you lost one of your babies. Very glad the other is doing well.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver eek PGP hope you are okay

@BostonFern glad work has calmed down for you and appointments going well

I had my consultant appt today as I have raised prolactin which I had to stop treatment for during pregnancy so have some extra appts to monitor that. Endocrinologist in two weeks, midwife in another 4 plus 20 week scan.
Anyway all well and I think they will discharge me from high risk before the birth as I don't think the prolactin is serious enough to need a consultant delivery.

Also told my boss today so eek... this is real 😂

fonxey · 17/06/2019 23:10

Feeling kinda short of breath, or at least notice my breathing more.

Mum is trying out various names so I think she is coming around.

Who of you guys are ftms? I'm finding the getting a pram thing surreal. And weird. I was never into prams or babies as a child so feel i have no experience. I tried driving the thing through Mothercare. It handled quite well but i think baby will have a bumpy ride as i kept bumping into things. (OH whizzed around with it like a pro).

There will be a baby in that pram! Ah! It feels surreal. And i feel kinda like a fraud going around with it and looking at baby things.

Oh and i managed to stab myself with a needle today at work. (I work in a hospital) and unfortunately it wasn't a clean ones. He had nothing noted in his system so i doubt I'm at any risk. But so much paperwork...

lovebeingmum9 · 18/06/2019 09:15

Hi all
I'm 16 weeks today, its so nice to start 4th month of pregnancy! my sickness is getting less and less now so starting to feel much better! so excited to start buying bits....I'm holding off for the 20wk scan to def confirm if it's a boy but because this is our 4th we already have pretty much everything we need anyway! thinking of putting our youngest child age 2 up into his new bedroom so the smallest room he's in now can be decorated for newest addition before december as this will be our last baby.....so want to make the most of it all and have everyone in their own bedrooms (even though baby won't be sleeping in it for a while) hope everyone else is doing well and your pregnancies are going good Smile

BostonFern · 18/06/2019 16:31

@fonxey sorry you've had the needle stick injury, at least it sounds like there's a low risk of any transmission of disease.
How's your breathlessness today? I think it's supposed to be quite normal in pregnancy, not that it helps!

@agteacht sounds hopeful you'll be taken off the high risk list 🤞

@lovebeingmum9 pleased to hear things are going well for you, yay to less sickness!

I've had some great news at work today about some work I'd been doing, a huge weight feels like it's been lifted off my shoulders! I feel like I can enjoy being pregnant a bit more now too. 17 weeks tomorrow and I'm counting down to seeing our little boy again at the weekend, can't wait to see how he has grown.

OP posts:
smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 18/06/2019 17:28

Thanks @BostonFern @agteacht and @JayDot500 yeah it started around 10 weeks so I think I'm pretty unlucky.

@BostonFern I'm 17 weeks tomorrow too! I've been debating having another scan, still 4 weeks until our 20 week scan which feels far away.

BostonFern · 18/06/2019 21:22

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver I wasn't sure about another scan, but we decided on having one this coming weekend. Mostly to put my mind at rest, it's a weird time in pregnancy isn't it? The early symptoms are gone and not really sure if the little flutterings are baby movements or gas 😂 my stomach is definitely expanding though and I'm starting to get heartburn.......both of those could be from eating more though!

OP posts:
fonxey · 18/06/2019 22:43

Thanks @BostonFern Smile

I wasted so much time today on that stupid injury and had to get stabbed again to have my bloods taken.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver i also shared another scan. It is a long time until 20 and at 16 i want to find out the gender. But was speaking to someone at work who reminded me the baby might be in the wrong position. Although at least I'll get to see him/her again. But then they might not be able to see the fresher at the 20 week scan. And I'm not made of money so maybe best to wait till after the 20 week scan just in case.

But it is hard to wait even more than a month. I am 14 weeks but feel impatient to be further along!

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 19/06/2019 12:19

@fonxey and @BostonFern I think we will book one, generally having a bit of a shit time recently and it would be something nice to look forward to.

lovebeingmum9 · 20/06/2019 10:18

Thanks @BostonFern so far so good atm! aw look forward to hearing how your scan goes on the weekend....congrats on it being a boy too! our 20wk scan is booked for 19th July, can't wait...we're 99% it's a boy from 12wk scan but just need the extra confirmation!

What's everyone's top picks on names?
We have already chose and set on...
Isaac (boy) or Esme (girl)

elephantmarch · 20/06/2019 10:56

@lovebeingmum9 those are fantastic names. I love the meaning of Isaac too.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver and @BostonFern I’m due quite close to you I think as 17 weeks tomorrow.

Anyone bought any maternity clothes yet? I can’t wait for an elasticated waistband

We’ve had to buy a second hand family car to seat three car across. Children are expensive!

fonxey · 20/06/2019 11:48

I got maternity clothes weeks ago! Not that i really needed them as such, bit all my jeans are super skinny jeggings that were a squeeze to get into anyway. So an extra cm bloat pretty much killed them. Now I'm growing into them more.

Not set on names yet. I like Esme and Isaac. My nephew is called Issac, so it's a good name!

I can't think of boys names. I like Lucas but my OH isn't solved. For girls I like Willow, Wren, Aveline.

codenameduchess · 20/06/2019 12:59

I've been living in stretchy summer trousers, they are so comfy and I'm not quite ready for maternity clothes yet. I'm hoping these loose summer clothes will see me through most of summer and I'll buy maternity for autumn/winter.

I'm really struggling for boys names, dh has vetoed all of my suggestions so far! We've got a few girls names we agree on for now, although he is dead against lorelei we both like Rosalind (as in Franklin who's work lead to the discovery of the dna double helix). It took months to agree on DDs name and I don't think this one will be any quicker!

agteacht · 20/06/2019 13:09

Hi all
Hope everyone is doing well. I had my consultants appt this week which went well and I also went for an additional private scan, no real reason why. But it was nice to see the little baby again!

I'm convinced it's a boy. I don't have any boys names at all, I want to choose an Irish name but all the ones I like are already being used in the family. What's the etiquette on that?? I have lots of girls names but convinced it's a boy although we won't be finding out...

I got a letter today for another midwife appt in 4 weeks time, the same week as my 20w scan. Not sure why but I guess just a check.
