@Albgo hi, sorry I’ve just been catching up on the thread and only just seen your previous message. I can’t access the email address for some reason but will ask one of the other ladies in the group to check for your email and get you added x

Albgo · 05/06/2019 20:15

@Sweetpeace & @Beaglemum93 Thank you, that is the email address I used. x

Issywizzybelle · 05/06/2019 20:30

Hiya!

Can I join? Been checking in here every now and then but didn't feel comfortable to join due to previous miscarriages (7 of them) but also got a 17 month old daughter.

Edd is 24/12 so I'm a 11 and a bit weeks and got my 12 week scan next Friday (but already had two viability scans)

Is there a Facebook group set up? I've got a Jan 18 group and honestly couldn't have done without it!

francesca26 · 06/06/2019 14:16

Please could I be added to the Facebook group? My email is [email protected]

codenameduchess · 06/06/2019 14:49

I was promised the sickness would get better in the second trimester! I've been so bad the last 2 days I haven't left the house....

lovebeingmum9 · 06/06/2019 17:55

@codenamedutchess I can sympathise....yesterday I was sick 4x pretty much after every time I ate something and was 2lb lighter this morning Shock and today although has been better only sick the once so far I'm constantly feeling sick and headaches too! hope we both feel better soon x

smitch82 · 06/06/2019 19:23

Had my scan on Monday and it showed a very healthy and wriggly little baby. My due date was brought forward to the 5th Dec so still in the group!

My last day at work is tomorrow and I have been told I don't qualify for statutory maternity pay so not looking great.

I am going to try and find work but if I can't due to the growing baby inside me I want to do something productive with my time.

Any ideas of things to do to keep me occupied? It doesn't need to pay, life isn't all about money!!

December2019 · 06/06/2019 21:38

@smitch82 I decorated most of my house when I was about 36-37 weeks pregnant and it wasn't fun!
So if you have the time & money I'd do that earlier if it's something your planning on doing anyway
Swimming, box set binges everyone loves a good box set... I'd just try and relax hun
Honestly people used to tell me "ohh relax and put your feet up because you won't be able too once baby comes"
I never did haha but I wish I did now the first months are so full on (not that I'd change it for the world) and it's so much fun I think but I do wish I could watch a box set now haha

Emmilou82 · 07/06/2019 06:14

Woo hoo 12 weeks today! Finally at that milestone.... it feels like it has dragged! We found out at 5 weeks ish and it feels like forever 😬

I have my dating scan on Monday so that's exciting.... can't wait to see baby again. Hubby and I are off for the day Monday too so going out for lunch and a bit of us time.

Starrynights86 · 07/06/2019 09:53

@smitch82 maybe a temp agency can find you some other work?

I’ve also emailed about the Facebook group but haven’t heard anything?

Beaglemum93 · 07/06/2019 10:18

@Starrynights86 I've just sent an email invite to you and all the others that have emailed us. Let me know if it doesn't come through.

PickledEgg89 · 07/06/2019 10:52

@Emmilou82 right here with you! 12 weeks today too - woohoo! I have my dating scan on Tuesday. I'm just hoping I don't move backwards, it feels like it's taken years to get to this point 😂

I'd like to join the Facebook group too but will wait until Tuesday has passed x

Starrynights86 · 07/06/2019 10:57

@beaglemum93 thank you!!

Beaglemum93 · 07/06/2019 11:00

Sorry it took so long @Starrynights86, we had issues working out how to add people using email addresses!

Emmilou82 · 07/06/2019 11:48

@PickledEgg89 yes, hopefully I'm not put back any further either! I don't want a Xmas day baby lol.... but, what will be will be

fonxey · 07/06/2019 20:50

My 12 week scan is on Monday. I was dated a week ahead at my previous scan so I'm 13 weeks today... But going my my last period i am 12+3. So I'm interested/worried what this scan will tell me.

I've been feeling weird lately as well. My belly feels... fuller and uncomfortable. It seems to go through these phases. It looks bloated, but now feels bloated too. Plus I think my bowls are.. Moving a bit more lately. So i had a weird moment when i thought i felt a shuts flutter or gurgle down there, unlike most bowelish gurgles. I guess my induces are getting shifted around.

Anyone else had a weird feeling belly?

Hope everyone's upcoming scans will be good!

LovesHisMummyReally · 07/06/2019 21:16

Harmony test results back today, a week earlier than I was told to expect them! Healthy baby girl - such a blessing and a relief after 2 MCs and being a 'geriatric mother'. Feel like the weight of the world is off my shoulders (almost).

On a related note: what is the12 week scan actually checking for? I have heard it referred to as a 'downs' scan but, as we have been screened for downs now and I am 11 weeks, I wonder what I am waiting for before going public..

LovesHisMummyReally · 07/06/2019 21:18

And @fonxey, my belly feels stretched and heavy every evening, and sometimes kind of tingly.

fonxey · 07/06/2019 21:25

I think maybe at the 12 week they can check the fluid around the neck that might indicate downs? But i thought that was more the 20 week scan?

12 week mainly dating now that the nhs has decided that you're less likely to miscarry! That's what i thought anyway. I guess they can pick up some things as well.

Lazysundays18 · 07/06/2019 21:42

I think the 12 week scan is mainly a dating one but you can opt for the down's etc testing. I did & they checked the fluid behind the neck on the scan& then did a blood test and use both (along with age & weight) to give you a number which shows the risk of down's. Thankfully I come back low risk. Results took a couple of weeks.

Lazysundays18 · 07/06/2019 21:43

*maternal age & weight

agteacht · 08/06/2019 01:23

@LovesHisMummyReally I had both the NHS scan and harmony scan on same day. They were basically the same! So if you are waiting for the NHS one I think the only extra thing it will give you is a weeks extra piece of mind - and your official due date. Congrats on the successful harmony result, it definitely made me feel better!

Hope everyone else is well. We shared our news with our families today which definitely has made things feel quite real at 14+1 😊

lovebeingmum9 · 08/06/2019 06:44

@fonxey yes my belly is feeling very stretched and bloated like, this is my 4th pregnancy and I have also felt early flutters.
@loveshismummyreally congrats on your harmony scan! it's such a relief and makes it all feel more real! I think like others have said the 12wk nhs scan is to check heartbeat, limbs, measurements and screening for downs if you choose to.
@agteacht aww how lovely bet is was amazing telling your families! I'm 14+4 and our kids asked if they could tell some friends at school....they practically both told their hole year groups so I've had lots of parents wanting to confirm what there kids have told them lol 🤣 it's nice to get the word out!

codenameduchess · 08/06/2019 07:35

@LovesHisMummyReally the 12 week scan is gor dating and you can opt for the testing (downs, Edwards, Pataus etc). Other than your official NHS due date you won't get anything new as the harmony is so accurate.
The 12 week mark is also when the risk of miscarriage drops significantly, which is I think why most people wait until then to share the news.

I'm nervous about flying Tuesday, I'm chunky anyway and I'm convinced I'll have to ask for an extender as my lower belly is quite hard now and doesn't squish down 🙈

Emmilou82 · 08/06/2019 07:44

We are having the blood test too on Monday for downs etc..... how long before we get the results back? I was hoping to make my pregnancy public on Monday but obviously it depends how long we have to wait for the results!
