LMAO at the thought of lots of mnetters scuttling round for measuring tapes! I dont know how i would have survived without my mat clothes.

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/08/2007 12:49

Dal,
Don't know why i have a dislike of maternity clothes lol i just do.

hee hee i am being a total wind up to my ds. he trying to ask me if i know something but everytime he says "did you know mummy ..." i say "yes I knew her before you did" ooppss bad mummy

dal21 · 08/08/2007 12:55

Ah - sounds very cute! cannot wait til this one arrives and is old enough to do the same too!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 08/08/2007 12:58

hi everyone!

well, ive finally got an appointment to see the physio!!!yippppeeeee!!!

rang teh hospital again this morning because once again i ahd a struggle getting out of bed and coming down the stairs.teh woman that answered the phone was the same from the other day,i explained everything to her and she said "oh your the lady that rang and i told you to ring the midwife".told her that my mw keeps saying teh referral has been sent but yet its now 11 weeks since she apparently did so.

receptionist woman gave a big sigh and said "hang on i'll put you through to the gynea physio" (why couldnt she have done that teh other day??)

spoke to teh physio and she took my D number and said that no referral has been made!!i told her the dates i saw mw and when she said it had been done and she said there definately wasnt any referral.

she apologised (told her its not her fault but teh mw's!) and she gave me an appointment for tuesday at 4pm.

im just soooo peeved off with mw,ive rang them loads of times and each time ive seen mw ive asked and been told everytime that it was sent.ive been in agony for the weeks and im mega p*ssed off about it!

dh wants me to complain about it (god knows who to!) but im just relieved that im finally going to be seen and hoepfully going to get some treatment.

anyway,rant over!

hope everyone else is ok!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 08/08/2007 12:59

by the way,has anyone got any advice for sore boobs?

mine are killing me atm!!hellllppppp!!!!

j20baby · 08/08/2007 13:04

Hi everyone

i woke up feeling crap today, headachey, feeling sick and my piles are really bad, kept me awake throughout the night, not good! think i may have overdone it yesterday.

mw appointment went ok, lo's head is nearly engaged, whatever that means and mw was quite impressed that i've got a foot sticking out my side

i've just got measured, am 41" round the biggest part, thats 3" i've put on it 2 weeks and 5 people in the last 3 days have commented that they hope i don't give birth there and then! idiots!

i bought size 10 maternity tops and jeans, i don't quite fill the tops as i've got a weird shape i think, but the jeans are ok, fed up of having to wear the same things though, although i have bought a few normal tops in a 12, you know the smock kind, what aren't too bad, could do with more really but begrudge spending more money with only 8 weeks to go.

lisa-hope you get your boiler sorted, what a pain

hope everyone else is ok, may have a nap now

buffy-glad you've finally got your appointment

OP posts:
dal21 · 08/08/2007 13:12

J20 - you gotta take it easy! i always sleep badly and feel off for a few days after i have overdone it - have told myself no more! Good news on the MW appt tho!

I know what you mean about the clothes. I am starting to get really frustrated flicking through mags and seeing lots of things i cannot buy. I miss my fave pair of jeans like you would not believe. My mum has been a star though and made up some indian salwar kameez suits that are lovely and cool and also nice and different, so have had a little bit of a change from what i normally wear!

Buffy - fraid i cannot help on the sore boobs front, but well done for getting into the physio!

j20baby · 08/08/2007 13:20

dal-i know, but i've been feeling ok the last few days and now it seems to have hit me like a ton of bricks! i'm sat with half finished laminate flooring and feel like crying, think i'm just having an off day.

re; the clothes, what really annoys me is when i'm shopping with my size 6/8 friend and she starts moaning about things not fitting her, feel like slapping her!

buffy-missed the sore boob thing, i had it early pg and it was horrible, don't really know what you can do, i'm sure i've read cabbage leaves in your bra can help?

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 08/08/2007 13:21

Im 37 inches around the bust and normally a 23 so not put much on there.

Buffy -Good news about the app!!! Don;t you just hate the 'it's in the system...' answers.

Have done the 5 doughnut thing again today and really should go and make myself a healthy sandwich...

muppetgirl · 08/08/2007 13:22

.....I mean 34 not 23 --surely that's concave???

ejt1764 · 08/08/2007 13:29

v. quickly (haven't had my shower since coming back from hydro yet!) ...

buffy - I am sooooooo glad you've finally got an appointment for physio. If you want to make a complaint, address it to the Supervisor of Midwives at your NHS trust - that should get it to the right person! Do complain - you're probably not the only person this has happened to!

I am fed up and narky with the world today - dh went out for a pint with our neighbour last night, and didn't come to bed until 1.15am - he came home about midnight - managed to wake me up as he came into the house, then faffed a bit, then managed to squeak the door as he went into the kitchen, then came upstairs and faffed around in our room, before going downstairs again, then came back up andwoke me up again!

I've been a tad short-tempered this morning with him (he knows he's in the wrong though, so he's been very sheepish!)

My 'waist' now measures 45" - I'm getting to the stage where some of my maternity clothes are feeling a tad tight ... I'm still able to wear my pre-pregnancy linen trousers though - just with a bumpband instead ... I'm enormous - and I've still got 8 weeks + to go!

Right, off to have a shower ... have been waiting for unigate to phone me back for the last 30 minutes ... am getting just a tad narked ... I don't envy the person I person when (if) they do ever phone me back!

dal21 · 08/08/2007 13:36

J20 -

Don't cry - look at everything you have managed to get done! You are quite seriously superwoman!
In all seriousness though - put your feet up and relax. Get out the house for a while and stop looking at your half finished floor too!

Muppet - which donuts? custard/ jam/ iced?

EJT - sorry you are not tip top either.

Right I am off to the office to get all the stuff i need to work from home til my maternity leave starts. My wacky races drive across london - so not in the mood! ho hum!

muppetgirl · 08/08/2007 13:42

........mmmmmmmmmmm
.....................jam doughnuts..........
....mmmmmmmmmm......................

dal21 · 08/08/2007 13:45

Muppet - you tease!

ChocolateHobnob · 08/08/2007 14:11

Hello again all! Glad you got that physio appointment Buffy (finally). What a mare.

Lisa, fingers still crossed for that heating.

J20, take it easy!

I saw mw this morning for 28 week check up, heard baby's heart (147 this time, 148 last time - pretty constant) and had bump measured - it's apparently bang on the place it should be. So all the people telling me I look too small can stop.

I'm not measuring myself in case I scare myself with how many inches I am around!

I wore size 12 before and am still size 12 now but maternity clothes size 12. Some size 14 tops cos chest is growing exponentially...

Take care all!

dal21 · 08/08/2007 15:15

Hey hobnob - great news on the check up. I think you start getting on in pregnancy and forget about caring how big the bump is! You just want it cook and come out so you can finally meet it! I am going to keep a track on bump size each week now. (Will stay away from the scales tho...til the end!)

ejt1764 · 08/08/2007 16:37

need to vent

Have tried to set up milkman to deliver to my house - it was supposed to start on Saturday - nothing - on Monday, I phoned, and the call centre sent a fax to the depot in Cardiff asking that they contact me - they haven't and still no milk ....

I phoned earlier to vent my spleen again, and they put me straight through to the depot, where a woman said "well, the order's definitely there, I'll contact you delivery person to ask them what's happened to your order, and I'll phone you back ...

All this was at about 1pm today - and guess what? No phone call!

Midwife from the hospital was supposed to call me back last week too to discuss things - nothing ... have phoned this afternoon (she's definitely in!) ... and they have left a message for her to phone me - but again nothing ...

am and at the same time ... j20 - can I join you crying on your floor?

nellieloula · 08/08/2007 16:46

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good day. This is just a quick one from me to say hi. Saw the MW today - baby is measuring big and I've got protein in urine so they're keeping an eye - got the glucose fast from tonight which I am not looking forward to. Also, has anyone else had stabbing pains in the bottom of their bump?? I may have an infection in which case it could be that - just wondering if it's a stretching thing though - doesn't feel like it. Things getting v uncomfortable now, but got a referal for the physio (just hoping i doesn't take as long as other's have!)

hope everyone else is well. Sorry I can't respond to everyone else's things but wanted to say a quick hello whilst I have 10 seconds!

ejt1764 · 08/08/2007 16:51

nellie, I regularly get tearing / ripping pains around the bottom of my bump - ... those are your trans-abdominal muscles, and they can get very tetchy ...

dal21 · 08/08/2007 16:58

EJT - what a thoroughly frustrating day! I would be furious! Its not rocket science is it? Never understand how the simplest things like calling someone back can be such hard work! I feel your and your !!

Nellie - I occasionally get the pains too and they vary from going down the side to underneath too! I wouldnt worry about it, as EJT says, think it such muscles stretching to accomodate the bub.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 08/08/2007 17:05

ejt im just relieved taht ive finally got an appointment but dh is insisting i complain.he said teh same as you...how many others has it happened to.
sorry your having a bad day.i hate it when people say tehy are going to phone you and they dont.

nellie, ive had the tearing pains at the bottom of my bump and was told the same as what ejt has said.that its the muscles (and with this being my 6th baby i didnt think i had any muscles there anymore!!!!)

j20 ive heard cabbage leaves in bra but i thought that was for blocked milk ducts or when your boobs fill with milk and get uncomfy?not sure though.mine are just killing me,they feel so tender and dh just bumped one with the hoover (he was carrying it past me)....he nearly ended up wearing the hoover...that and getting his knackers chopped off to see how he liked being in pain!!!

im feeling really narky with myself today.god knows why but everything seems to be getting to me today.no doubt there'll be tears by bedtime!!think will put it down to stress and hormones (getting abit fed up of ds2 (7) asking every five mins "are we moving yet" and "can i go to school tomorrow".answer to the 2nd one...i wish!!!bless him i know hes excited, but hes driving me bonkers!!!!

j20baby · 08/08/2007 17:13

dal-thanks, i know i've achieved quite a lot getting nearly the whole house done in 3 months, suppose its time to calm down now!

Ejt-what a nightmare day, i hate it when things like that happen, hope your dp feel's suitably ashamed and makes the tea and a nice pudding for you. feel irrated for you with all the other things too.

i fell asleep for an hour then went for a bath, just feel exhausted, its even an effort to type. dd is staying with her dad again tonight and i said i'd take her out tomorrow, so hope i fel better in morning.

nellie- i have traces of protien in my urine a lot too, could be a water infection? good luck with the fasting, fancy asking pg women to not eat

my lo's hb was 167 today but mw kept it on for a while and it went down to 157, so she was happy with that.

hi to Muppet and everyone else, can't remember what else has been said! i'm going to lay on sofa and feel sorry for myself, may do a bit of internet retail therapy

Ejt ? I?m in Newcastle for the text/email buddy thing if that helps! On the stats thread not sure we have many others up here but we have family in Hertfordshire and Herefordshire if that makes it easier!
Sorry you have been having a frustrating day with everything you have been trying to organise falling through. And after such a disturbed night too. How frustrating! Hope the day gets better?.

J20 ? LOL at your cunning trick of turning the clock back to get more graft out of your brother! I like your style!!! Hope mw appt went well today too?.

Lisa ? sorry you had such a crap Tuesday. Hope Wed got better?

Muppet ? glad your consultant appointment was so positive ? she sounds like a star. We have a birth reflections service up here that anyone can contact at anytime after childbirth to talk through your experiences and arrange to go through your notes with someone. Didn?t need it myself but think it sounds like a great service. A shame you didn?t get offered this but great you?ve had the chance to go through things a bit now and that your concerns are being taken seriously. And you haven?t been annoying at all ? its what we?re here for!

Floria ? I was much like you last time ? my bump grew massively expecially at this stage ? I think this is why I am a little concerned this time. He is moving OK though so hopefully I?m paranoid ? if not I?m doing the right thing to get checked. I think as far as weight gain goes some people just seem to put it on more easily than others ? could do with a more tactful family though I think! I guess with all you?ve been through to get to this point watching your body obviously expand like this muct be a very reassuring sign that your lo is growing nicely!
Sorry to hear you?ve been having hassle on ebay though ? that?s well out of order of the seller! You are right ? entirely their responsibility to get postage costs right and to set a price they are happy to expect. When I first started selling stuff I got my fingers burnt on postage a couple of times which is annoying but it was my fault ? would never dreamt of asking for more money or changing the terms!!!

Chochobnob ? Try not to worry about the fact your bump is getting big! Sam thing happened to me last time and my ds was on the small side at 6lb 9oz when born. Sure you?re fine but right it?s a minefield! Enjoy your time off and baby shopping?. My lo is another ds so we have loads of stuff already. I?ve bought a double buggy (mountain buggy urban second hand from ebay ? delighted!!!) a cot and some newborn clothes (we borrwed these for ds) so think we have most things covered?
Glad mw appt went well too?

Buffy ? yippee on physio appt!! About time! Sorry about all the agro but at least its finally happening?

Dal ? you can buy something called a bellybelt ? can?t remember where from but loads of places sell them so try putting it into google. It is a contraption to button into your flies so you can wear your normal jeans under maternity tops. Fab!

Well I?m a size 10 and am still a size 10 although now maternity. Don?t seem to have expanded apart from bump and boobs though but bump definitely smaller than last time. Initially it was much bigger for dates but this time with ds1 he had been right up under my ribs for a good couple of weeks (I?m only a midget of 5 foot!)yet there is a good 10 cm to go before ds2 is at the same place. Def think he?s not got bigger last couple of weeks but will see what mw says?.

Anyway I have a night out with the girls from my nct class from when I was pg with ds1 tonight. Had been really looking forward to it but now totally knackered as ds didn?t settle very well yesterday evening ? think he?s teething bless him. Sure I will have a good time once I?m there though but will def not be making a late one!

Hope the rest of you are all well and well done if you?re still reading this ? think its my longest yet!!! Won?t be around later though so wanted to make sure I had caught up with you all properly. Will let you know how mw appt goes tomorrow am and will probably be about tomorrow lunchtime when ds is aslepp. Take care and big hugs for one and all?.

alicet · 08/08/2007 17:24

Cross posted with loads of you!

So Nellie ? Sorry to hear you?re uncomfortable and that you have GTT to look forward to. Thinking of you?.

Buffy ? sorry you?re having a frustrating day also. I used savoy cabbage leaves from the freezer when my milk was coming in and my boobs were agony! No idea if it will work now too but sure it won?t do any harm! Sorry you?re suffering?.

J20 ? enjoy the retail therapy and the chance for a rest superwoman DIY goddess!!!!!
